CS2 Error message-can no longer open Photoshop on my computer

Bought/downloaded/installed CS2 in July, 2006. Tried to open it today and got the following message: Your Adobe Photoshop user name, organization, or serial number is missing or invalid. This application cannot continue and must now exit. My computer no longer allows me to open it. It has opened fine up until today, and the other programs (such as Acrobat) in the Suite still open. Do I need to re-install Photoshop

I'd sure try deleting the preferences file before reinstalling it, just in case that file has become corrupted.
Press Ctrl - Shift - Alt immediately after starting the application, and confirm at the prompt.

Is there something which is done wrong in illustrator to get this message ?
What can prevent this to happen, because unable to open the document, the document is blank when opened ?

We have tried both saving the files on our company server and on our individual desktops - neither of which will open the files.
Fonts are ok - they are all created and saved in CS6.
Printers, I believe are all correctly set up.
We tried a complete reinstall on one PC - still running into the same random files ending up 'lost' with the same error message.
Originally, the cs6 design standards (6 licenses total) were loaded to the server/shared drive and then downloaded onto each PC from there - we believe this may have something to do with the corruption, but this problem has just begun within the last month and the programs were all downloaded over 6 months ago.

I just got the MacBook Pro, installed my photoshop 7 on it, as I can't find my CS2 disks, I think this is the 3rd computer I have installed it on, installed fine but when I try to open from the dock is says "an unexpected and unrecoverable problem has occurred because of a program error, Photoshop will now exit." I am willing to re-purchase the CSwhatever upgrade, CS3 seems like it is going to be more stable with Snow Leopard than CS4, but am afraid that because of this error message, it won't read my old copy of 7 and thus won't load. thanks for any help you can give. I was on hold 45 minutes today with tech support, after 1 guy told me he couldn't help me.

Program error message when trying to open photoshop cc

I downloaded photoshop cc when I had snow leopard (10.6.8). It opened at first but subsequently when I tried to open it I get a program error message. I uninstalled and reinstalled while I still had snow leopard and it still wouldn't open. Now I have mavericks. Will reinstalling fix this? THanks for any suggestions.

When launching PS CS5.1 (Mac OS 10.10.1) this error message, "An unexpected and unrecoverable problem has occurred. Photoshop will now exit." comes on before PS launch screen. Only option is to QUIT. What's happening?
NOTE: Before attempting to launch PS (which had always opened fine before) I was prompted to install latest Java runtime, so I did that. Is that the problem?

Error Message when trying to open photoshop 8, then closes

I don't know how to stop this problem from happening, I cant get into the program to change any settings or troubleshoot. I have uninstalled and reinstalled after restarting my computer and the same problem is still happening. I don't know what to try next. I have only had the program for two weeks, and it seemed to be working fine before I changed the preference to have it automatically sort through and tag my photos. Maybe part of the problem is that I imported some scrapbooking graphics into the photo organizer. I don't know how to change or fix the problem though, what do I do?

Delete the organizer preferences (by deleting psa.prf file at C:\Documents and Settings\<LocalUser>\Application Data\Adobe\Elements Organizer\8.0\Organizer) and launch Organizer again. This will create new preferences for organizer and your program should launch fine after this.

I can no longer open PDFs on my computer. The first time this happened I deleted Adobe and tried to download it again. I consistently get "down load failed to initialize" when I attempt to do this.

I've updated Firefox.

You have some sort of issue with the external drive, I would use a powered USB hub first if it's not self powered.
Next I would be looking at purchasing software to direct recover your files from the 1's and 0's of the bits themselves on the external drive as it appears your directory or something is hosed.
Software that comes to mind is DataRescue $99 which you can download and test first before buying, then send the recovered files to another blank external drive.
Once you've got your files recovered, then your all set to mess around and experiment.
Try to access the files with the program version that originally created them, I'm not all that up to speed on iMovie, but I do know there are issues with using older Apple software versions with newer version altered files.

winmail.dat files usually mean the email has been sent in rich text format - you could either the person who sent it to send it in a different format e.g. plain text or HTML, or there are a few apps in the store that support it (search for winmail.date in the store).

I can no longer open PSD Photoshop files on Preview

I can no longer open PSD Photoshop files on Preview since I installed Snow Leopard on my White MacBook. Whenever I double click a PSD file, it opens in Photoshop.
I used to force PSD files to be opened with Preview by "Get Info" (command + I ) and then Changing the option "open with" to Preview.
I also tried draggin the PSD file onto Preview, nothing happened.
Did Snow Leopard stop PSD support, or I'm missing something??

No, I can still open psd files in Preview, no problem, from both Preview's "Open" dialog and by drag 'n drop onto its icon. It opens simple psd files without error, files with an alpha channel may or may not open correctly, layers will display the topmost layer, if that layer has a mask it displays incorrectly. In short, nothing seems to have changed.

Try this - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.) No data/files will be erased.

Using Keynote 3.0.x I try to open a keynote file created a year ago and when I try to open the "Opening" dialog comes up, you see the progress bar, and then, I get the error message, "Can’t open file" followed by the file name. Any recourse?

I later discovered the file was damaged. Went back to a backup copy and things were fine. Good think we have backups.
