CS2 Illustrator did not install but the other applications did.

I bought CS2 on Amazon second hand, installed it, and only got Illustrator. Phoned Adobe and was told this happened because it's still registered to someone else. A week and many hours of faff later, it is finally registered to me. I uninstalled CS2 files, and the computer counted down percentage of uninstallation, and confirmed that it had been uninstalled. So I started again. All loaded beautifully - except Illustator is missing. Nowhere to be found. I am frightened to reinstall in case the rest disappears now! What do I do?  I know my computer is up to the job, because it has had all 3 applications loaded on it (and working) at times, but I cannot seem to get all three applications on it at the same time! Help!

What operating system are you running? This info is crucial in determining what could be going wrong. For the record, I personally found the CS2 installation the worst of the CS series.

    How did you delete the Note? If you did a "select all" and "cut", open the Note and shake your iPhone to undo the cut action.

  • Installation issues - Finalcut not installing but all other programs do.

    I just recently upgraded to Snow Leopard (not sure if that has anything to do with it.) I have the Final Cut Studio 2 package. I've never had an issues installing, just putting the discs in one after the other as usual. However this time Final Cut is not appearing anywhere on the hard drive. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

    Eva, It's unclear to me exactly what you did, or what happened. Are you saying you installed the entire FCS2 package, but then when you looked in the Applications folder, FCP wasn't there?
    Before you installed Snow Leopard, as Tom W. wrote, did you completely erase your iMac's hard drive?
    I read your previous post, and it looks like FCP was working okay before you upgraded the OS. It could be there was just some glitch during the installation process. Rare, but it happens. Doing another clean erase and install might get you up and running again.
    BTW, any particular reason why you upgraded the OS? My observation, especially with pro apps, is if everything is working well, it's best to stay with the same OS the apps were originally designed for.

    Hi there Sing Me A Song,
    You may have changed the Up Next list in iTunes. Take a look at the article below for more information on the Up Next lists and how to edit it.

  • DNS not resolving on one Mac but the other works fine in same local network

    Snow Leopard is doing something strange to the DNS or the permission to ping.
    I have 2 Macs on the same local network, connect through the same ISP (verizon FIOS). One has no problem resolving any domain, but the other is constantly not resolving some domains.
    The problem progresses like this:
    * All of a sudden, DNS is not resolving from Ethernet (when it did perfectly well a minute ago).
    * Then I switched to wireless (using the same LAN), and it resolved fine.
    * Then it failed completely a few minutes later.
    * Then I reboot my Mac, and it seemed to clear that, and worked for a day.
    * Then it failed again in both Ethernet and Wireless; rebooting does not fix it.
    * I cleared all the caches using Onyx, did "dscacheutil -flushcache", zapped the PRAM, reinstalled 10.6.2 combo update, repaired the permission, nothing works.
    * Since the unresolved domain is my own domain, I changed the nameserver, and waited for it to propagate to see if that may be the problem, since it appeared that it is not resolving the A Record, and I waited 72 hours, and it is not resolved or propagating to the local DNS, but it worked perfectly well on my other Mac within the same network.
    * Then I added other DNS, such as google DNS 8.8.8.8 or openDNS servers to it, but it didn't fix anything.
    * Then I "ping" either the unresolved domain or my own Mac .local, and it gave me the error "permission denied". (Whereas I have no problem pinging my own Mac or the unresolved domain in my other Mac that works!).
    * Then I "sudo ping" the unresolved domain or my own Mac, and it pinged perfectly well.
    * Then I tried "ping6" my own Mac or the unresolved domain on the broken Mac, and it worked fine!
    * Also, I used http://network-tools.com to ping it, and noticed that during the trace, somewhere along the route through te7-2.dsr02.dllstx3.theplanet.com and po2.car04.dllstx5.theplanet.com, it timed out along the route, so I don't know if the timeout could have been causing the reject, but I doubted, because "sudo ping" locally will get through but "ping" does not.
    So I think I traced the Snow Leopard DNS problem as follows:
    * Why does "ping6" works, but "ping" permission is denied unless the user is root?
    * I tried to "chmod 4755 ping" but it won't let me.
    * Is it because DNS is resolving using IPv6 but not IPv4?
    * Or is Snow Leopard somehow screwed up the permission to access ping or similar DNS service?
    * Why DNS has no problem in one Mac but caused problem on the other Mac, even though they are in the same local network?
    * The only difference between the Macs maybe because I have Parallels installed in the Mac that failed to resolve DNS (with the extra Parallels Shared Ethernet), which may be interfering with it, but I tried to turn Parallels Shared Ethernet off, and it did not fix the problem.
    Can anyone help or have any idea that I can fix this nagging bug with DNS? The DNS had worked before, but it simply quit working all of a sudden, and nothing can resurrect it.
    Thanks.

    Shut down Parallels and restart w/o letting any of Parallels TCP/IP stack resurrect itself. So many network issues with VM solutions. See if the problem persists. Create a new account and ping from there. Are your search domains manually entered on the 10.6 box?

    v14 says my droid2global is not compatible, but the beta installs fine, how come the official download wont install?

    Nope, it's still says it's not compatible with my device. This is from the Google Play Store in my desktop web browser, as well as Google Play Store Android app. I tried clearing the Play Store cache as well but it did not help.

    Just purchased a office jet 6500A Plus so that I can print from my iPhone and iPad. I can print form my iPhone but my iPad 2 tells me there is no air printer available.  Why does one device recognize the air printer but the other device does not?

    I have the 6500A without plus and it is with a LAN cable connected with my Router.
    First make sure you have the latest printer firmware installed.
    Next restart the printer and the Router.
    I had the same. Problem but it went away after rebooting the Router.

    I have a DVD Acrobat Pro 9. I upgraded laptops and trying to install but the DVD is not readable. How can I get a new DVD or Download Acrobat Pro 1. The product is registered and I have the serial number. PS: Contacting Adobe on this issue is impossible... direct support stinks.

    Download AA 9 Pro from http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/acrobat-downloads.html. Make a new backup for your archive. You might also take the DVD to your library to see if it is a drive problem. You might also carefully clean the DVD with water and soap (do not use anything that would scratch the surface or you have destroyed it for sure) and see if that solves the problem. This is particularly an issue if you have finger prints or other crud on the DVD. However, it could also be a bad drive as I mentioned. Hopefully the download solves your problem in any case (I would backup the download to CD and/or backup HD).

  • I need to install I DVD but it says that:An eligible iDVD application was not found in the location /Applications., I need to install I DVD but it says that:An eligible iDVD application was not found in the location /Applications.

    PLease, I am trying to install I DVD but it says that an eligible iDVD application was not found in the location /Applications.
    Somebody can help me?

    It sounds as if you're trying to install an update rather than the actual application itself. iDVD is no longer included with new Macs and you'll need to use your original Applications disc to install it (or, if you never had it at all, but iLife '11 from Amazon to get iDVD).
    Good luck,

  • Why becomes the *.desktop installed but the *.xpm not in my PKGBUILD?

    Hi,
    I'm a bit confused. I created a desktop and xpm file for vidalia. Here's the PKGBUILD:
    pkgname=vidalia
    pkgver=0.1.10
    pkgrel=3
    pkgdesc="Controller GUI for Tor"
    url="http://vidalia-project.net"
    arch=('i686' 'x86_64')
    license="GPL"
    depends=('qt>=4.2.0' 'tor')
    makedepends=('cmake>=2.4.0')
    source=(http://vidalia-project.net/dist/$pkgname-$pkgver.tar.gz \
    vidalia.xpm \
    vidalia.desktop)
    md5sums=('9533fe2c29fe50d363c6e5b369ec8938'

    build() {
    [ -f /etc/profile.d/qt4.sh ] && source /etc/profile.d/qt4.sh
    cd $srcdir/$pkgname-$pkgver
    cmake -D CMAKE_INSTALL_PREFIX=/usr .
    make || return 1

    Why is the desktop file installed but the xpm not? Both files ly in the same directory /var/abs/local/vidalia and have the same permission. You can also see in the pacman -U output that the desktop is installed but not the xpm file!

    Well, it seems a desktop file is being installed by the "make install" part so you do not need to do it manually.
    For the icon
    install -Dm644 vidalia.xpm $srcdir/usr/share/pixmaps/vidalia.xpm
    you want to install to $pkgdir, not $srcdir.
    I would also remove the "cd .." prior to the install and just do the following
    install -Dm644 $srcdir/vidalia.xpm $pkgdir/usr/share/pixmaps/vidalia.xpm
