CS2 in Windows 8

Had Photoshop CS2 loaded on computer running Windows 7 - no problem. Just loaded it onto new computer running Windows 8. Loaded OK according to on-screen messages but when I run the programme I tries to fill in Registration and got the message "Could not complete your request because of a program error". Then tried to crop a photo and got the message "A required application library failed to load and the product cannot continue. Please reinstall the application", Have done this twice but still the same problem and same messages. Tried updating but no updates available. Any clues as to the problem and perhaps a remedy??

What installation file are you using for CS2?
Is this relevant to your problem?

  • Photoshop CS2 on Windows 7 - unable to boot up after installing

Hi everyone, I really hope anyone can help me with this!!
Ok, I've always used Imageready CS2 to open avi files to edit then save as animation GIF without affecting quality (which part of PS CS2 that I did pay for) on my old laptop with Windows XP in the past.
Since then I've got a upgrade to PS CS5 (paid for) which I've installed successfully onto my new laptop with Windows 7 but till now, I'm dismayed to find that I'm unable to open avi files in PS CS5 just because I have 64 bit, not 32 bit even though I couldn't find the 32 bit program anywhere (apparently I found the 32 bit by searching in start up button but it still opens as 64 bit?).
So I thought I'd try installing PS CS2 into Windows 7 using my CD and found that the activation part doesn't work anymore which leads me to finding that I could download a copy of PS CS2 without the activation bit (yes I did the uninstall before installing PS CS2 without activation) everything was great BUT...untill I tried booting up my laptop next time, it wouldn't start up properly at all, it would only manage it to that Boot Screen Animation then blackness with the cursor in the middle or rarely to the log on screen that doesn't work but thats it so I had to do a system restore to get it back in working order minus the PS CS2
I thought it was the fault of other things I've downloaded at around same time like xvid decompressor codecs (so I could use VeeDub64) so I downloaded the codeces from different source and restarted to see if it boots up ok (it did) so I tried installing PS CS2 again but same thing happened on restart - failure to boot up and I had to do a few system restores (as some of the points didn't work ) before I barely got it back in working order yet again....
I see that some people have PS CS2 that works perfectly on Windows 7 with 64 bit because they changed the file path when installing the program? Or was I supposed to have the 32 bit program somewhere although maybe I don't have it since my PS CS5 is not extended? Would either of those work? To be honest, I'm quite reluctant to try as I may end up killing my laptop this time around and it's only around 2 years old!!
Any help would be MUCH appreciated!

I'm happy to report that I've managed the resolve this issue of mine
After a little discussion with customer support through online chat today, I was still advised to try the uninstall and install to see what happens.
So I used the CC cleaner tool first, restarted then started by installing CS2 then CS5 using my serial numbers and made sure that I selected 32 and 64 bit programs to be installed
Anxiously, I restarted my laptop to see if it would reboot okay and thankfully it did *relief!*
Now I can open avi files using 32 bit of Photoshop CS5 without any problems (thank goodness!!)
I think I probably didn't install the 32 bit program when I first bought the installation CD, since I thought I didn't need it but never knew it was still required for editing avi files!!
Surprisingly, I still got to keep both versions of CS2 and CS5 this time around, as CS2 was simply replaced by CS5 when I first installed it two years ago....hmm.
    So thank you again gener7!

  • Install CS2 on Windows 7 32bit and 64bit, please help!

I own a legitmate CS2 Creative Suite and my old Windows XP computer must be retired. Is there any way for a non-technical person like me to install CS2 on Windows 7 64bit? I saw some instructions but they seem geared to very computer knowledgable people and I got lost just reading them. Also, I saw new that CS2 was or is being offered fro FREE from Adobe? Is that true?
OR, will CS2 as a 32bit application be more easily installed on Windows 7 32bit without any special install instructions?
Thank to alll who can help this pathetically technically challenged person! I can NOT afford to upgrade CS2.

Option 2 here: http://forums.adobe.com/message/4715553 seems to work:
Copy the installer to your local drive. Right click Setup.exe, Properties > Compatibility tab > Run this in compatibility mode. Choose XP SP2. Click OK. Run Setup.exe
And yes, you can download and install them, see:
    http://forums.adobe.com/message/4976177
There is still ongoing discussion whether anyone is entitled to install it, or only users with a valid license, but it seems Adobe does not care.

  • PhotoShop CS2 with Windows - via Bootcamp / Parallels

    Hi All,
    Hope you can help !
I am thinking of upgrading from G4 powerbook to an Intel MacBook. My main question is this:
I have a full copy of Photoshop CS2 for windows, will this run sufficently well under either bootcamp / parallels on a MacBook or will I need to upgrade to CS2/3 for MAC ?
    Many thanks
    RH/Nutwood

I have a full copy of Photoshop CS2 for windows, will this run sufficently well under either bootcamp / parallels
It will run fine on both of them.
It will run better using Bootcamp/Windows.

  • Photoshop Cs2 with windows 7 64 bits

i find that the printer icon in the page setup page is missing.
can anyone help me to solve it, please.
i cannot select printer while i am in the page setup tab.
or it is a bug in photoshop cs2?

Windows 7 x64 is a separate build from Windows 7 32 bit.  Windows 7 Ultimate comes with BOTH.
There isn't a separate package of Photoshop CS5 for 32 bit or 64 bit.  Photoshop (since CS4) installs both 32 bit and 64 bit software on a 64 bit Windows system, or only 32 bit software on a 32 bit Windows system.
Photoshop CS5 is fine with every variant of Windows 7.
Photoshop CS5 is reportedly fine with modern AMD processors, though I have only used Intel.
The detailed system requirements are here:  http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshop/photoshop/systemreqs/
My own (personal, subjective) opinion is that ATI (AMD) video interfaces are better than nVidia.
    Hope this answers your questions.

  • CS2 and Windows 7 x64 Pro -- some PS1 fonts don't appear in Photoshop.

Since purchasing a new computer running Windows 7 x64 Pro, several of my fonts no longer appear in Photoshop CS2. They were functioning perfectly on my previous system running XP. The particular fonts that do not appear are Type 1 fonts, but other Type 1 fonts function normally. Adobe does not provide support for CS2 on Windows 7 systems. Since I use Photoshop daily, any help would be much appreciated. Thank you.

For Win7 64bit Pro or Ultimate (or Enterprise?) this is ONE example of using Virtual XP

  • Adobe GoLive CS2 for Windows?

I need a copy of Adobe GoLive CS2 for Windows. Where can i buy one?

It is no longer for sale through legitimate retail channels. You could test your luck by finding a copy for sale on eBay but those are most often pirated. You might as well find a pirated copy for free than give your credit card info to a pirate.
If all you need is 30 days of use, I think you can still find the CS2 trial at ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub

  • Up and Down Arrow Keys Not Functioning in CS2 for Windows

A little over 6 months ago I purchased Adobe Photoshop CS2 for Windows XP and installed it on my work PC and my home PC. Everything works fine and dandy on my work PC, however when I try to do some editting on my home PC there are some quirks that I can't figure out. The main thing is that my Up/Down Arrow Keys do absolutely nothing. Whether I am trying to edit text and scroll through my fonts or if I'm trying to nudge a part of a picture, the Arrow keys do nothing.
Does anybody have any suggestions for me?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks.

    >but that's beside the point.
it's not. what you describe is typical behavior of a high quality cracked version that's been floating around. a great copy with shrink wrap, nice manuals, etc. but you've been burned. usually the discs are stamped "made in singapore".
try to get your money back.

  • CS2 for Windows - cost of upgrade to CS6

Can I upgrade CS2 for Windows to CS6 for Windows 7, and what is the cost?  I am also currently subscribed to CC for the Mac, which will be continued. Thank you.

Apologies, I should have been clearer at the outset.  I do all my bird photography on the Mac OSX platform via a desktop as well as a MBP when away.  So, I have already two computers authorised as required and limited to.  Lately, I have started astrophotography and the majority of my software is Windows 7 based, thus for ease I acquired a third computer, a PC laptop, for this purpose.  I did start with Photoshop for Windows and upgraded as far as CS2 before changing to CS3 for the Mac and eventually (CS4, 5, and 6) to CC for the Mac.  The question now is:  can I deauthorise the Mac laptop in order to authorise the PC laptop and change back and forth as many times as I wish, and as often as I want?  I am the only user, of course.
In reply #4 above, I had decided to simply copy my files onto an external drive and work off that in CC on the Mac, as I have been doing.  Seeing I had CS for Windows in the fist place years ago, I was trying to find a solution at little or no cost to me, to upgrade that Windows version, but I guess it's not possible, unless your answer to my question above is affirmative. Many thanks for your help.

  • Can't load cs2 on windows 8

Was running photoshop cs2, got new computer running windows 8, can't load old software and can't afford new upgraded software, any versions I can download for free or CHEAP?

Just to be clear, what do you mean by; "can't load CS2"?
What happens? Do you get error messages? Does the media just not read?
    Are you aware of THIS?
It is pretty much a case-by-case basis, but I do know people running CS2 on Windows 8 under compatability mode. More info would be helpful.

  • Adobe CS2 on Windows 64 Bit

    Hi people,
Please can someone help us, having just called Adobe Tech support they have informed us that they no longer support CS2.  We are trying to install CS2 on Windows XP 64 Bit, but during install the setup does not recognise the characters in the path C:Program Files (x86).
We tried loading into the following path 'C: Program Files' it loads but once loaded the program will not run.
Sorry to put such a lame question up but we are struggling and have work to do.
Thanks in advance for any help anyone can give.

Try what I did.  The entire cs2 suite is working with 64 bit Windows 7.

  • Installing CS2 Into Windows 7

Has anyone successfully installed CS2 into Windows 7? I've tried to install, but keep getting told that the serial number is incorrect when I know that not to be the case.
    Thanks in advance.

I am glad I read your response, Bob.
I too had the same problem. I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate. I tried loading CS2 on our new system but mistakingly entered MY name instead of my wife's registered name, and CS2 refused to run. But up to that point it appeared it -might- have been able to run successfully. That was Problem Number-1.
Here's Problem Number-2: Upon atempting to un-install the CS2 program the following message appeared: "Missing or Invalid Personalization Information, Missing Resources Library." What could be worst? I can't even un-install the software!!!
I called Adobe and was dumb-struct at being informed "...we don't support CS2 anymore"! That, in my opinion, is absolutely foolish and non-scenseical on their part because in the least, they could have supported me and prepped me to upgreade and purchase CS3 or 4.
I also tried to re-install CS2, again, on top of its un-installable condition and got the same message as above "Missing or Invalid.... " And so I remain stuck, three (3) months now without a clue as what to do to get out of this conditon.
I even -manually- deleated as many files as I could in the CS2 Programs File directory in an attempt to get some of the "nay-sayers" un-install obsticals out of the way but, I still can't remove the program, nor re-install over it.
I was able to load CS2 into Window 7's Virtual PC mode. But it can not run there as efficiently as I imagine it might in Programs (x86), or in 64 bit mode if it were indeed possible.
I refuse to believe that I alone, out of millions of CS2 users, am in this problem alone.
I need help Abode! I need help with this Bob! I need help from anyone who can help me get out of this mess. Thank you.

  • InDesign CS2 on Windows 7 issues

I am trying to export to a pdf file and it is giving me an error message saying it has failed to export.  I have been using CS2 on Windows 7 for over a year and this is the first time it has not allowed me to export.  Any suggestions?

Before you give up, though, it might be the document, not CS2. See Adobe Community: File Crashing on Output - printing/PDF/other for some tips on how to troubleshoot.
