CS2 - Purchased legal version - Please Insert Disc 2 into Drive

Hello,
I am running Windows XP SP4.
I purchased my copy from someone who was selling out their old CS2 Premium version on Ebay. Came with all 6 discs and 2 backup CD's, 2 books, serial numbers, and some old coupons.
My old version was Illustrator 8.0, and I thought I got a nice price for the full CS2 package.
I had some initial trouble with my first cd/dvd drive spitting the CD back out and refusing to read it. I switched to an External Drive and the first disc installed.
Now, however, no matter what I do, and I've tried turning the drive off and back on again. It loads the disc, it looks all green lights and ready. I click OK of the two options OK or Cancel. And my disc drive spits the disc out. I've tried holding the drive door shut and keeping it there. Probably not good for the drive but it insists on spitting my cd out every time. I try to start it on disc 2.
Also some curiousities of note, Adobe installer notified me that I now could use Adobe Photoshop at any time as it was now installed, but instead I find Adobe Bridge has installed, no sign of a photoshop anywhere.

Download the installers from here:

  • Error Msg - There is no disk in the drive. Please insert a disk into drive

Okay, I have been using itunes w/the same ipod for quite a while. Recently my computer died so I just bought a new one. Before getting rid of the old one I logged onto windows and moved all my files to an external drive. I am now using this external drive for all my docs, music, etc. on the new computer and did a "move" of "my documents" (including "my music" contained therein). I installed itunes and my ipod using the software disks that came with my ipod. I inserted the ipod and it worked fine but it did make me associate the ipod with this new computer and had to reinstall all my music on my ipod. So far so good. Then when I went to play a purchased song itunes informed me that I had to upgrade to the most recent version of itunes to play the song. I then dowloaded the update and installed it. After installing the updated itunes, itunes then basically re-associated itself with my ORIGINAL profile (I'm not sure if profile is the correct word to use here) and once again deleted everything on my ipod and reinstalled all my songs. Now this is where I began having this problem. Now, everytime I run itunes (with or without my ipod connected) I get 12 of the above-mentioned error messages. The top of the box says "Windows - No Disk" and the main part of the box says "There is no disk in the drive. Please insert a disk into drive." I am given the choice of "Cancel" "Try Again" and "Continue." I hit cancel for a total of 12 times. I've tried with disks in both of my cd/dvd drives and get the same message. The funny thing is that I have about 12 or so card readers (scene by the computer as drives) and I'm thinking that maybe itunes is trying to access those drives or something, but I'm not sure. So, that's it in a nutshell. Any help by someone w/knowledge of this issue would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

This can also be caused in iTunes 7 by "dead tracks": songs that iTunes is expecting to find in a certain place but the song file isn't there.
I recently upgraded to version 7 and got this message every time I started iTunes. I used the iTunes COM SDK for Windows with JScript to find all the dead tracks in my library. Then I fixed them by either deleting them from the library or else correcting the library's idea of where the song file was. Once I did this the message went away.
Another way to look for dead tracks is to parse the iTunes library XML file and look for invalid file paths. I did this in Perl without too much trouble.
(I'm cross-posting this to several threads about the same problem.)

It is interesting situation...maybe a coincidence, but 11 was typically hit with No Disc message, and

It sounds like you downloaded the wrong application, namely Adobe Premiere Elements.
If you meant Adobe Photoshop Elements, you're in the wrong forum.  This is not the Elements forum.

  • There is no disk in the drive--please insert a disk into drive F & more

    Hey,
I've been having a problem with my ipod shuffle (2nd gen) for the past couple of weeks. Everything is okay until I try to eject the ipod. I click the eject button and the following errors pop up: "There is no disk in the drive--please insert a disk into drive F." and this next error pops up immediately after the disk F error. "The ipod can not be ejected because it contains files that are in use by another application."
I've been browsing around on this forum and I came across a person that had the exact same problem I had. That thread is located here: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=12582148&#12582148 Take note of the person replying to the person asking about the problem saying it could be a problem with an anti-virus program. The asker said they had McAfee. I also have McAfee. And since the person answering didn't know too much about McAfee and suggested the asker take it up with McAfee, I decided to go straight to the McAfee forum to ask about the problem. I asked my question over there and the person answering said it couldn't be a problem with McAfee. It doesn't interfere with legitimate software. I could always click skip once it reached the ipod if I felt like doing that. Or I could turn off the schedule scan to avoid automatic scanning--I already did that. I prefer manual scans. Anyway, the McAfee discussion is located here: https://community.mcafee.com/message/167031#167031
As for the 5 R's: I have reset the ipod. I've tried putting the dock into another USB port. It's firmly in the dock btw. I updated itunes a couple of days ago to see if that would help the problem and it didn't. I uninstalled itunes last night, restart the machine and reinstalled it and I still got the error. And I haven't tried restore. tbh I really want to avoid that route if at all possible. I've done 4 out of the 5 R's. I'd hate to restore everything and still have the problem come up.
Can somebody please help me? Normally I wouldn't consider this a huge problem but I don't want it leading to a bigger problem in the long run.
And for computer information: My system is 100% clean. I have McAfee and Malwarebytes and I use them regularly and it always comes out clean.
    Thank you for any/all replies.

I had the same problem and after a few hours, I found the fix. iTunes uses a program called "MobileDeviceService". It appears Mcafee blocks this program by default. To resolve this, got to McAfee Firewall Settings, click "Internet Connections for Programs", and find the program called "MobileDeviceService". Edit the settings to change Access Level from "Block" to "Full". Now you will be able to synch to your iphone/ipad/ipod through iTunes.

  • There is no disk in the drive. please insert a disk into drive

i downloaded new itune upgrade. now i cant use it because this windows message appears(there is no disk in the drive. please insert a disk into drive) & i cant cancel, try again or continue it.as this message keeps appearing itune is trying to anayize each song (12000 songs)but cant because the windows no disk windows keeps popping up.

I haven't seen this myself but in another forum query someone suggested that one possible cause of this is dead tracks.
If so you can get sofware that can remove dead tracks.
iTSync is one such program which others have recommned although I have no experience of it myself.

  • When I am using Premiere elements 13 I get a message that pops up "that there is no disk in the drive. Please insert a disk into drive", this also happened 3 months ago How can I get rid of this again?

When I am using Premiere Elements 13 I get a message that pops up "There is no disk in the drive" I click on it and it keeps coming back "very annoying", but about three months ago it happened to me and I was told to change the file name from OldFilm.AEX  to OldFilm.AEXold. Well now the file is back in Folder OldFilm.AEX. Here is a screen shot the files are highlighted. What should I do now to correct this once and for all, or can I? Thank you for your time.

    TomWolves
I would do another rename to disable or just delete all the OldFilm.AEX and OldFilm.AEXOLD in that NewBlue Folder.
If you do, please let me know if that OldFilm.AEX regenerates itself the next time you open Premiere Elements 13.
Here is the strange story...at least from my Premiere Elements 13 Windows perspective...never had the No Disc error issue
Here are some details to sort through trying to figure out why you have 2 OldFilm.AEX file in the NewBlue Folder.
    1. The original OldFilm.AEX file of Premiere Elements 13 has the date of 9/4/2014 (just before the version was released on 9/24/2014).
After the 13.1 update is done (whenever date), that OldFilm.AEX file has the date of 1/31/2015. I first saw notification of the 13.1 Update
    release early in February 2015.
    2. Now in Premiere Elements 13.1, if I take my OldFilm.AEX (date 1/31/2015) and disable it by renaming it to OldFilm.AEXOLD, close out of there, and reopen
the program, the OldFilm.AEX is not seen to regenerate. The OldFilm.AEXOLD remains there as its lone self.
    3. So, I am thinking that your OldFilm.AEXOLD in the screenshoot is "original equipment" that you disabled to get rid of No disc error.
Why the OldFilm.AEX is there also is not clear, but the dating on it suggests that it came along with the 13.1 Update.
Bottom line: let us try the deletion or disabling one more time and see what happens.
Looking forward to further reports on your findings, as your time permits.
    Thanks.

  • Getting error no disk on dell pre installed premiere elements 13:  there is no disk in drive. please insert a disk into drive\Device\Harddisk2\DR2  : can i fix this^

    like the title says...
cannot get service or support on phone...  I paid for this software... i though adobe was a good company....  darn
    Can anyone help me...
Need this to work now  not in a week...

Sorry you think Adobe is a bad company.  Phone service for most common consumer software disappeared shortly after they invented the internet.  This is a user forum where there are people that like Adobe products well enough that they freely share their experiences.
If you type "insert disk" in the "Ask it" box you will get answers that suggest there is an anomaly on some computers where you need to remove a file.  Below is a cut and paste from one of those threads that was offered by Adobe Staff.
".... try removing the Old Film effect from the installed location of Premiere Elements 13 and then try to launch the app? The exact file to be removed is (assuming you have installed it in the default location)
    Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Premiere Elements 13\Plug-Ins\Common\NewBlue\OldFilm.AEX"
The other solution might be to get the update that was released only yesterday via download from Adobe.   Premier Elements 13 is now 13.1.
    Good luck!

  • Please Insert Disc....Burning Disc Initializing (Repeated)

    Hi,
I've the newest version of iTunes on my laptop which is a Vista...Im trying to back up iTunes with data discs. It said I required 9, the first one burnt fine. On the second disc, iTunes kept repeating "Please Insert Disc" then "Burning Disc Initializing".
Can anyone help as this is very frustrating
    Thanks

Nowadays people don't back up to CD/DVD. They get an *external hard drive* and copy over their entire iTunes folder, and whatever else they are backing up.
The advantages are (1) this method does not depend on iTunes's horribly unreliable burning capability (2) you can look at the external and see that the stuff you backed up is really there. (If you want to see an unhappy person, it is when they try to restore from CD/DVD and discover that it did not burn correctly in the first place.) (3) it lets you back up your other valuable files besides your music.

  • Just powered down and moved my iMac and when powered back up all it says is no bootable disc-please insert disc and hit any key......what do I do?

when starting up my iMac (had just moved it from one room to another, was working fine) it only shows on the screen "no bootable disc...please insert disc and hit any key".....what do I do?

That sounds like a message from a DOS-based computer. A Mac would just show a folder with a question mark, unless they've changed things recently. Do you have a BootCamp partition?
Try holding down the option key immediately after the Chime. You should go into the startup manager and it will show all bootable drives. Pick yours, then go into System Preferences and set your startup disk.
Next would be to try a Safe Boot by holding down the shift key right after the chime until you see the gray screen. It will take a while to boot up as it is running some disk checks.

Move USB key to another USB port and retest, use backside one.
If no change have a try with another different USB key,
and copy the EIVB.bin file to the newest USB key and retry.

  • Disc 2 into drive c:\ to continue installation

    Hello
I have a volume license CS3 ; on several computers the install is seamless. I always state with a fresh formated/Xp install / SP2 , SP3 to prevent the obvious installation nightmares.
On this computer - newly formated/ updated new installion of XPSP3 it is after disk one if finished the installtion that I get this message:
"adobe creative suite 3 master collection please insert cs3 master collection disc 2 into drive c:\ to continue installation"
Disk two is recognized and launches with the Adobe CS3 package, autorun icon, and icon. Disk two launches but the message prevents any further advance.
I am clueless why the install is pointing to c: drive?
If there is a solution, please let me know.
    Thanks

There's not much to go on here but it sounds like you are installing from a set of disks and you need to insert the next one.
If that is not the case please give us some systme info so we can help.

  • Free version of CS2 - unable to install - please insert CD 2

    I am running Win 7
I was pointed at a link for a free version of CS2.
    http://www.free-stuff.co.uk/Free_Adobe_CS2_Creative_Suite_Download_Links.php
I assume it is a valid free offer. There is no indication at the Adobe site link.
There is a PDF that describes how to install and, although, the file names mentioned are not exactly the same as those that are downloaded they appear to correspond and everything downloaded correctly (there is a slight problem with the disk 3 link, with a superfluous backslash at the end but that is easy to get over).
I did as specified, i.e. run the disk 2,3 and extras files to expand the content then I ran the disk 1 file and everything appears to be ok until it gets to the stage of requiring disk 2 and doesn't find it.
Unfortunately, there is no opportunity to point it at the (correct location on the) hard drive (whether it is looking there or at the CD drive I don't know). So, essentially, I am stuck at a message saying "Please insert CD 2 to continue installation". Any ideas?

Installing CS2 on a Windows 8 64bit systems worked for me using the instructions below, followed to a "T".
"Be aware, this won't be for everyone. These are old programs, intended for use on Windows 2000/ XP and Mac OS X v.10.2.8–v.10.3.8 (PowerPC® G4 or G5 processor). We've managed to install CS2 on a 64-bit Windows 7 system, but this is unsupported and there's no telling what issues might crop up.
If you'd like just to try, though, here's what to do. Follow the download link to open a page at the Adobe site, and at a minimum download CreativeSuiteCS2Disc1.exe, CreativeSuiteCS2Disc2.exe and CreativeSuiteCS2Disc3.exe from the links at the top of the page (that's a bulky 1.07GB in total, so choose a system with a fast internet connection).
Run CreativeSuiteCS2Disc3.exe, make a note of the default extraction folder (it was C:\Creative Suite CS2 for us), and click Next > Finish.
Run CreativeSuiteCS2Disc2.exe, change the default extraction folder name to whatever it was for the previous file, and click Next > Finish.
Run CreativeSuiteCS2Disc1.exe. The extraction folder should be the same as it was for the Disc3 file, but change it if not, and click Next. (The aim of all this being that all the CS2 content should end up in the same folder.)
The installer will appear. Click Next and accept the licence agreement.
The "Personalization" screen then asks for your registration details. Enter your name, (optionally) company, and the serial number 1130-0412-8377-1896-9751-5759 (you can paste this from the clipboard).
Next, the installer asks where to install Creative Suite 2. By default this was C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe on our Windows 7 x64 system, but it immediately complained that "The path your selected for installation contains unsupported characters". This is misleading; the real problem is just that the installer is using a long file name. Manually enter C:\Progra~1\Adobe as the folder name on 32-bit Windows, C:\Progra~2\Adobe on a 64-bit system, press Tab > Next and all should be well.
    Read more: http://www.pcadvisor.co.uk/downloads/3328873/adobe-creative-suite-2/#ixzz2TI45RP5Z
You then get to choose to install some, or all of the suite's components. Your options are Adobe Illustrator CS2 (600MB), Adobe InDesign CS2 (400MB), Adobe Photoshop CS2 and Adobe ImageReady CS2 (450MB), and Adobe Version Cue CS2 (300MB).
We opted for the "Entire Suite" option, and clicked Next.
A Summary screen appears listing all the choices you've made so far. If there's a mistake, click "Back" and change it, otherwise click Install.
If a message appears telling you to "Insert CD 2 to continue installation", open Explorer, and switch to the default extraction folder (we'll assume it's C:\Creative Suite CS2). Manually copy the C:\Creative Suite CS2\Adobe InDesign CS2 and C:\Creative Suite CS2\Adobe Version Cue CS2 folders and their contents to C:\Creative Suite CS2\Adobe Creative Suite 2.0. Switch back to the installer, click OK and it should now continue.
Once installation is complete (which should only take 3 or 4 minutes, not the "up to 20" suggested by the setup program) a Registration dialog will appear. There's no need to bother registering, really - these are free tools, you're not going to get any support running them on modern PCs anyway - so the best option is probably to choose the "Do not register" option, and click Next > Done.
And with any luck, you should now have installed CS2. The issues may not end there, but you should at least now be able to launch and try out its various applications.
