CS2 Shortcuts won't work

Hello, just recently bought my own copy of Adobe Photoshop CS2 after using my friends for awhile. I use a Saitek Cyborg keyboard, which worked just fine before... but once I rewiped my harddrive and reinstalled CS2, my shortcuts don't seem to work anymore... like zooming in with Control+ and Control-
but they worked before.
And when I do go into the keyboard shortcuts, and it IS labeled as "Ctrl++" and "Ctrl+-"... so I clicked it and remapped it again to Ctrl++... but it comes up as Ctrl+M and Ctrl+K... but that doesn't overrride the original shortcuts for M and K...
So are my keys just mapped wrong, or has this come up before? I have no idea where to remap the keys at... the drivers were installed fine because the keyboard works with EVERYTHING else but CS2 properly.
Anyway i hope i explained this clearly enough... any help available?

That's interesting... they say that alot of Ebay copies COULD be fake.. and we happened to get ours from ebay as well.. you think there's a fix or should we just return it and get it from Adobe themselves?
I would say it's 99% certain you got one of the fake copies. There are 100s of them and they all looked authentic with shrink-wrapped packaging, etc.
CS2 is no longer available from normal sources (we are up to CS4 now).
I would not delay in trying to get your money back.
Moral: If the price looks too good to be true it probably isn't genuine.

  • Illustrator CS2 shortcuts won't work

I recently purchased Leopard, and now my Illustrator CS2 shortcuts won't work. I tried to create a new set of shortcuts but that doesn't work either. I can't even open a new document without going to the menu.
I would appreciate if anybody know a way of fixing this, as I don't want to purchase CS3 just yet.

Lisa - CS2 also has activation and de-activation in the same way as CS3 does. What it does not have is the un-installers. The installation-rules are the very same for CS2 as for CS3. You cna isntall as many times as you want, you can only activate on two-machines imultaneously and only use it on one machine at the time.
The first thing to do if shortcuts stop working is to delete your preferences and start from defaults. Re-installning is the very last resort and very seldom needed in my experience. an dif you need to reinstall, you need to first get rid of old settings and other files that belong to the application or they will still be there and behavior of application still be the same.

  • Remote Desktop Shortcuts won't work in FULLSCREEN mode

    Hello,
    I found lots of
shortcuts won’t work during remote desktop connection between Win7 64 host (home premium) to Win 7 64 guest (professional):
    Include:
    ALP+PAGE UP/PAGE DOWN
    CTRL + ALT + ±
In order to make them work I need to exit full screen mode of remote desktop first (can be done with CTRL+ALT+BREAK)
    Is there any fix?
    Bob

    Hi,
Have you check the "Local Resources" under Remote Desktop Connection "properties",? just as screen shot below:
You can also test this issue with On-screen keyboard, check if issue persists.

  • Zoom keyboard shortcut won't work with "Italian Pro" keyboard, Zoom keyboard shortcut won't work with "Italian Pro" keyboard

    Hi everyone,
I am trying to get to the bottom of this mystery. "Italian Pro" is the keyboard I use almost all the time, and for some reason this zoom shortcut won't work. Another user assured me that "cmd-+" is the shortcut also in that keyboard. Mine doesn't work though. I have tried removing the keyboard and reapplying it. I've tried to use it on different browsers and different applications. I've even created another user and logged into that, installing the keyboard there. Nothing has worked, so can anyone suggest anything? What do I do next? (I know it doesn't seem like much but the issue really interferes with the flow of my things) Thank you!

    Is Italian Pro
    a. the keyboard, or,
    b. the keyboard layout
    you use all the time?
for some reason this zoom shortcut won't work.
What zoom are you talking about?
The View > Zoom In command in Safari or Preview?
The Universal Access > Zoom In function?
The Zoom In command in some other app, eg, InDesign?
    Some other Zoom entirely?
Another user assured me that "cmd-+" is the shortcut also in that keyboard.
If we're talking about (b) and (1), then this 'other user' (his initials wouldn't be TG, would it?) was right. My keyboard is US QWERTY, and, if I switch to Italian Pro, ⌘-+ works. However, as the 'other user' has already told you, to do ⌘-+ with the Italian Pro keylayout on the US QWERTY keyboard, you have to press simultaneously the keys labelled ⌘ and ] -- as you can easily see in Keyboard Viewer.

  • Undo keyboard shortcut won't work

I have quite a bizaare problem - the keyboard shortcut for undo will work after I restart my computer, but after awhile, it simply stops working.  I am thus forced to click on Edit->Undo every time I want to undo something.  Once the shortcut stops working, it applies to all applications.  I have not been able to identify any "trigger" which causes it to stop working.  I've tried to "Restore defaults" in the Keyboard shortcuts tab under the Keyboards menu, but this didn't have any effect.  Any ideas?

I recently upgraded Firefox and now the shortcuts for Facebook won't work. (ie. pressing Enter to post a comment). Also, after posting at Facebook I'm not able to delete the post either. I tried clicking the "remove post" button and it was just loading. Photo upload doesn't work either. Maybe both Facebook and Firefox have problems regarding the new upgrade.

  • F7 and F8 Keyboard shortcuts won't work correctly.

I've just recently installed LR3.6 and it's my first experience with LR.  I've been following Lynda.com tutorials and all of a sudden the F7 and F8 function keys won't work.
The F7 just does nothing and the F8 opens iTunes every time I press it.  I've tried everthing I know (not being much of a Techie) without success.  I installed one upgrade download since I installed the original CD software. Should I just delete the program and re-install the program?  I believe the F-keys were woking originally.  I'm sorry, but I was going thru the tutorials and not being as observant as I should.  All I know for certain is that they do not work now.
I'm using an iMac 27 with the wireless keyboard. OSX 10.6.8.

  • Spotlight shortcut won't work anymore, Pref Pane not loading properly

Today, without any new installs etc., Spotlight stopped responding to my keyboard shortcut (CTRL+Space), and the Spotlight Search Window won't launch with its shortcut (CTRLALTSpace). If I click on the magnifier, it works.
I tried to go into Spotlight preferences, but the pref pane wouldn't load, getting stuck at Loading Spotlight...
I clicked on another pref pane, then clicked on Show All, then tried SL again, and it loaded, only the bottom 4 categories in the Searth Results tab are all blank: no icon, no description. I unchecked them, checked them again, booted into Safe Mode, repaired permissions, all to no avail.
What's eating my Spotlight? Any tips appreciated.

If I run System Preferences, then click on Spotlight, like I state above, it gets hung on Loading Spotlight...
If at that point I right-click the System Preferences icon in the Dock, then select Spotlight from the pop-up menu (or if I simply click on the Spotlight icon of the Preferences window once more), Spotlight Preferences do load up. Alas, some of the categories in the Search Results are blank. Currently, the only categories showing are: Applications, System Preferences, Documents, Folders, and Mail Messages. Categories underneath these 5 (Nos. 6-14) are all blank lines.
If I attempt to re-order any of the blank ones and bring one of them to the top area of the list, where the categories are showing their names, then exit System Preferences, then open System Preferences once again, then click on Spotlight, then click on Spotlight a second time so it opens, then I see that more categories are now not showing (i.e. their lines are blank, just the category number shows, plus the check box, checked or unchecked).
If, though, I re-order any of the blank lines so that they are moved further down the list, i.e. lower than other blank lines, then exit and reopen Spotlight preferences (with all the click and click again involved), then there are more categories showing their names.
I found out I can follow this 'technique', but I get stopped when I'm left with just one category that's still blank. I can't fiddle with that last one in any way to make it show up its name next time I open System Preferences and manage to load Spotlight.
Oh, and throughout the whole process, however many times I try to set my Spotlight shortcuts at the bottom of the pane, they don't stick: next time I see the pane, they're gone, replaced by two empty fields. Only way to invoke Spotlight is by clicking on the magnifier.
So, anyone still following this bizarre hick-up? And, more importantly, any ideas what I can do to alleviate the problem, short of driving a metal rod through my MacBook Pro's screen?

  • Indesign CS5 shortcuts won't work

i have just installed creative suite 5 and when i came to open indesign none of the keyboard shortcuts or toolbars were there. i previously used a free trial of indesign cs4 before uninstalling it to install cs5. i have been to edit> keyboard shortcuts> set, but there is nothing there (nothing in the drop down box) and when i have tried to manually assign shortcuts it won't let me save them. i have also been to c:> program files> adobe> Adobe InDesign CS5> presets, and there are no keyboard presets saved here unlike illustrator were there is a folder called keyboard presets. if anyone can help i would be very grateful

There is an Adobe Technote available that covers missing keyboard shortcuts etc in InDesign CS4. http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/408/kb408055.html am wondering if you are encountering a similar issue in CS5. Might be worth having a look at this.

  • [solved] xfce keyboard shortcuts won't work, tried arch wiki solution

Keyboard shortcuts defined in the xfce's keyboard settings don't work,  as described in the wiki:
    http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Xfc … 7t_working
When I kill xfce4-settings-helper the shortcuts work again. After restarting X the problem returns. I renamed '/etc/xdg/autostart/xfce4-settings-helper-autostart.desktop' and  '~/.config/autostart/xfce4-settings-helper-autostart.desktop' as described in the wiki, But the second file is regenerated  after restarting X. Does anyone know a good solution?

  • Spaces keyboard shortcuts won't work

i just got my new MBP, and i have noticed a little problem.
all of the F1-F12 keys were all given default functionality (i.e. F3 is Expose, F4 is Dashboard...).
well, when trying to set up the shortcuts for Spaces navigation, I have noticed that, no matter what F key I press, the default functionality is getting called and not the Spaces navigation.
I have even tried this with the command/control additions to the F keys, and have had no luck. i thought i read that this was a known issue with the most recent version of OS X.
has anyone else noticed this problem, and does anyone know of a solution?
    thanks you.

apparently, i was looking in the wrong place. this was addressed in the os x forum.
using the command-arrow keys to switch between desktops will work fine with me, although i would like full functionality.
sorry for the repost. if anyone does know the real solution, please don't hesitate to let me know. it seems as though, while some people can get it to work, os x eventually forgets the keyboard shortcuts.
    hope it gets fixed.

  • Keyboard Shortcuts Won't work

I'm using "Audacity", a free audio editing app and have to repeatedly export my audio files as a WAV, but there's no built in command.
    - I went to Keyboard and Mouse in System Prefs
    - Went to Keyboard Shortcuts
    - Added the application to the list
    - Added the menu item exactly as it appears in the menu ("Export As WAV...")
    - Input a shortcut command and closed System Prefs
    - Restarted Audacity.
No luck. I then changed the key command and no luck. I took out the "..." in the menu item and no luck. Do I have to imply what drop menu it's in? Like, do I need to put "File, Export As WAV..."?
Any help would be appreciated, thanks,

Thanks Tom! Got some inspiration from the search! In System Preferences, Language and Text, I picked "Region: US" and "US Keyboard" for "Input source" and... the problem is solved! I'll have to do this each time I want to work with FCE, but that's not too bad.
Thanks again for the quick reply.

  • Keyboard shortcuts won't work – please help

I have Dreamweaver CS3 on a PC with Windows XP, and recently had to reinstall my operating system to recover from a malware attack.  Ever since I redid my computer, I’ve been unable to use any keyboard shortcuts in Dreamweaver.  For example, Ctrl+v pastes in any other program, but in Dreamweaver, I only get a white arrow cursor with a white box in the bottom right of the cursor as soon as I press Ctrl.  F12 is set to preview a page in my default browser, but pressing it has no apparent effect. Does anyone have any advice on getting my keyboard shortcuts to work properly?  Thanks in advance.

Sorry, but you may have to reinstall Dreamweaver to get it to recognize your 'new' installation.
This has nothing to do with Dreamweaver not working correctly, but getting your os to recognize the keyboard shortcuts from the dreamweaver instalation.

  • Mac Mail custom keyboard shortcuts won't work

I'm using Mac Mail, trying to set keyboard shortcuts to set flags
    - I goto preferences/keyboard/application shortcuts
    - click on "+" to add shortcut
    - specify Mail shortcut in dropdown menu
    - add 6 different shotrcuts OPT/CMD-_ (where _ is: L S V F R P)
    - when I added the shortcut, i was very careful to make sure the MENU TITLE of the shortcut in  OS-X preferences paine is the same as the
Then, in Mail app, reading a message, I press the shortcut (ex: OPT/CMD-L), and the flag is not set

I'm having this exact same problem with Mail.app on Mavericks, and my workaround is exactly the same.  Doesn't it sort of defeat the whole purpose of keyboard shortcuts if I have to grab my mouse to expose the relevant menu?!  Very frustrating.  Does anyone know how to either 1) find a better workaround on our end or 2) convince Apple to fix the problem?
#2 seems unlikely since custom keyboard shortcuts is probably a pretty rarely used feature...
