CS2 Update Installation Problems

Hi,
i bought a new PC (with Vista). Now i want to install Adobe CS2 Update, but my CS1 Version CD (also a Update) won`t be found by the system. I tried to install CS1 Update, but my Full-Version of Photoshop won´t be found by the system.
How should i install my CS2???

First of all you should know that neither CS2 or any version previous to it are supported on Vista. However, many people have been able to install such versions on Vista, but it does require some preparation. I suggest you search the forums for more info.
About your question, you don't need to install the previous versions in order to install the upgrade. The serial number is usually sufficient. But if I understood you correctly you have at least two upgrades before CS2... in that case you will probably need an unlocking code from Adobe.

Photoshop CS2 Upgrade Installation Problems w/ Vista Problems

I recently purchased a new laptop w/ Windows Vista which I'm trying to install my copy of Photoshop CS2 onto. My Photoshop license is an upgrade license ... originally upgraded from Photoshop v4.0.
When installing an upgrade copy of PS CS2, it requires proof of your previous version in order to verify you're a legitimate upgrader. This works fine if you're upgrading from a version of Photoshop after 5.x ...you simply insert your CD and the installation continues. The installation process is less straight-forward for users like myself ... installing from an upgraded version prior to 5. I'm required to call Adobe ... and conduct a phone verification procedure where I give them a code displayed on the screen during installation and they give me a response code to type into the installation form.
I deauthorized my old laptop ... start the installation routine on my new laptop ... call Adobe w/ my verification code ... enter the response code (which is accepted) and complete the installation without any problems. My problem occurs when I go to run the software. The startup screen indicates that the software is still in "Tryout Mode", and the first window I'm presented with is the "Adobe Activation" window requesting my serial number. If I try to enter my CS2 serial number it is rejected with the message:
"You must enter a valid serial number before activating online or viewing activation options. Please check your serial number and re-enter it, or click the Purchase button to buy a copy of this product"
The thing is ... this IS a valid serial number. I've confirmed this with Adobe. (It's probably an upgrade serial number, which is why the software is rejecting it). I called Adobe and they're now telling me that I must enter a paid-support agreement in order to receive help installing my software. They claim their software is working correctly, and it must be a problem with my computer.
Has anybody experienced a problem like this? I refuse to pay more for something that worked fine on XP just to use it on Vista due to bugs in their installation and activation routine.

I know this is an old problem, but surely there is an answer to fix the problem by now...
What problems? I used Photoshop CS2 with Vista with no problems (I still have it installed on a Vista system if you'd like me to check anything in particular). CS3 and CS4 worked well as well. Haven't tried CS5 on Vista as I have moved up to Windows 7, but I suspect it works just fine.

Itunes 10.5 update installation problem

I was trying to update my itunes 10.5,after downloading it from apple store successfully,an error occured during the installation stage. It shows 'There is a problem with this Windows Installer Package. A program required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your support personnel or package vendor.
What should i do? I must remove itunes before installing 10.5?

Having lots of issues,.. and rather disconcerted by apple today.
1.) Downloading 10.5 itunes succeeded but then would not install on a brand new dell... apparently something is missing on my computer (but that is all the information your software gave me so i am having to uninstall itunes and backup my library... we all know what happens when you dont!)
2.) Brand new 4.5 Iphone with cute minisim did not transfer my contacts, and wont find signal... I guess the sim transfer isnt fool proof.. to be honest, if I can tell the phone to call jimbob in New York, why isnt there a voice command on start up or something automated to make sure the sims transfer from old to new.
Hastle time and money all for the Apple religion. Great when it works, but why am I left doing this chore.. I kind of miss the good old days of 3G when it did what it said it would.

Photo RAW update installation problems for Photoshop CS5

I have Photoshop CS5. I was trying to import some photos taken with my Nikon D3200, but it said that it didn't recognize the camera. I then tried to d/l the update, but after almost finishing the installation, it would say that it couldn't install all the parts, and try again later. I did but with no luck. Anyone have this problem?

Ok, since you have 10.6.8, v 8.3 dng converter is the latest supported for that OS.

Update installation Problems CS4

For the past week I've battled with my PC trying to install the 11 updates I downloaded from Adobe. I have a PC with Win 7 OS, 12GB Ram that runs a i7 CPU 920 by Intel using a high speed ISP. My Graphics card is ATI Radeon HD 4800 series with 512 MB.
I've downloaded.... re-downloaded.. etc and still when I try to install the updates I get the following error box message.. give or add a word or two.
          Installation Incomplete
             The installation process has encountered a problem.
              Please choose from the following options.
              1. Cancel the current update & continue to install the remaining updates
              2. Stop installing and continue later
I used option 1... but after each of the 11 updates did its thing I'd get the error box again.
I need HELP!!
BTW...your opinions are appreciated for the following question
      Is the ATI Radeon HD 4800 good enough for this program or is it just enough to get by?

Hi H,
I would advise you not to download the updates from the 'Help - Updates' procedure in CS or Bridge.
Go directly to Adobe, download the updates to your chosen place on your machine, and for each update right click on the downloaded set-up file, and select 'Run as administrator".
Also make sure that no CS or Bridge processes are running when you do the installation, check with the Task Manager.

HT4592 Airport and Java update installation problem

I tried to install the recommended updates, but the Airport 5.5.3 and Java for Mac OSX 10.5 Update 10 1.0 wouldn't install because they couldn't be verified. What does this mean? I don't understand why Apple would need to verify them, or be unable to verify them, if they come from Apple. Also, I've been having trouble with video on my MacBook Pro and am wondering if this problem could be related to the installation issue?

I just tried the updates again and these were the error messages I received:
For Java: The Installer could not validate the contents of the ‘JavaForMacOSX10.5Update10’ package. Contact the software manufacturer for assistance.
And for Airport: The digital signature for this package is incorrect. The package may have been tampered with or corrupted since being signed by “Apple”.

Solution for the Camera Raw 8.2 update installation problem

Interesting. How much is accomplished in the 8bi file without reference to camera-specific profiles? There are some camera profiles that appear to have been added in acr updates. for example there is a folder <Canon EOS 70D> in <C:\ProgramData\Adobe\CameraRaw\CameraProfiles\Camera> (win 7) that contains five profiles (Faithful, Landscape, Neutral, Portrait and Standard). Would acr be able to process 70D raw image files without these profile files?

10.4.3 Update Installation Problem

Tried to update from 10.4.2 to 10.4.3. It gets to 86% complete then stops..says installation not complete, try reinstall...same thing.
I don't have the G5 connected to the internet, so I download the update on another computer and burn it to disk and transfer it to the G5. This has worked fine on other updates. Is there something about 10.4.3 that is different causing me to have to hook up to the internet or am I going completely in the wrong direction? Help!!!

try this....
- download the 10.4.8 Combo update from here
- unplug any peripherals connected to your machine
- reboot
- quit any apps that start automatically upon login
- use disk utility to repair permissions, and verify your hard drive.
assuming all of that goes well, then try the 10.4.8 combo update.

ITunes update installation problems

I just tried to install the latest update to iTunes, and I've encountered several problems. One error message says "Apple Mobile Device failed to start". Another says "MSVCR80.dll missing". Anyone know how to resolve these problems? I uninstalled iTunes, restarted the computer, downloaded the file, and then ran it. It failed to install, and gave me these error messages.

Hi Expert,
My home PC is run on Win XP and has a Firefox 3.6 browser along with other browsers. Whenever, an update is automatically downloaded, I get a message that 3.6.x is available but you're not authorised to install. I'm not connected to any network nor have any proxy settings. This happens even when I try to install the download afresh after logging in as administrator. My user rights and other restrictions remain as 'Not Configured'. This does not happens for other installations or browsers.

Update Installation Problems for Acro 8.1.6-7

I'm new at Acrobat. I work on an iMac Intel 2GHz intel Core 2 Duo with 1GB ram. OSX 10.6.2.
I'm using Acrobat 8.1.5. Updates for 8.1.7 and 8.1.7 won't install. Error says something about "...plugins" and requests that I reinstall the native app.
Anybody know why? Or if there is a fix?

Hi Julie,
If you enter the cmd - i command for information and look for the plugins drop down check to see if any of them are switched off. normally Updater.acroplugin has this affect if unchecked and you try to run updates or install a manual update package.

In the section "ORACLE Net-Konfigurationsassisten" the failure "[INS-20802] Oracle NET-Konfigurationsassistent not success". What's wrong? I've heard the problem can occur with problems in /etc/hosts? My /etc/hosts is configured:

Update and installation problems

I am having issues with Creative Cloud updates and installations.
None of my Apps will update. I am prompted to update, I click the update button, Cloud says "updating software" but all attempts stop at 0%.
Similar issues Installing Apps. Installations start but all stop at 90%. No error messages at all.
This is extremely frustrating and all my Apps are in need of updates to fix minor bugs which are effecting my workflow.

We can't know. You have not provided any exact system info or other details like the install/ update logs. You can always run the cleaner and start from scratch.

MS updates download and installation problem.

I am using Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard. I saw four important updates available and when I'm trying to install those four updates it fails to install. I tried several attempts, but it failure. Except those four updates the remaining
have been successfully installed. I wonder what the problem was occurring?
The installation failure updates list are as below,
1. Security Update for Windows Server 2008 R2 x64 Edition (KB2871997)
2. Security Update for Windows Server 2008 R2 Edition (KB2872339)
