CS2 @ Win XP: Pie charts not closed

Hi all,
I have a pretty urgent problem with pie charts in Illustrator CS2
Here is what I do
- Start Illustrator
- create new document
- select pie chart from tools
- draw a rectangle for my chart
- in the poped up window, I enter these values:
330
192
295
There are lots more values which result in an unproper chart.
I need a fix for that extremely urgent.
Using different values or manual editing of the chart are inacceptable workarounds.
Thanks for help.

Is it then just some specific data values that give incorrect results?
Did you double-check the graph data panel?
Does it maybe contain blank rows, columns or cells?
Are there blanks (or other irrelevant stuff) somewhere within the value cells, in amongst the digits?
Are you using whole integers and/or decimals, and if decimals are you using the correct decimal symbols (points or commas depending on language)?
It seems very odd to me if only some values give incorrect results. I have never seen Illy produce unclosed pie charts before and I've done quite a lot of them. I am therefore not quite convinced that it is a bug - could it possibly be an error in the Illy data?
Like I said, I do know of an error in the data spreadsheets in CS2, so maybe Illy is wrongly interpreting the Excel data. It seems unlikely to me that this is a Mac/Windows thing and an update to CS3 or 4 may be in order.
330, 192, 295 worked perfectly for me.

  • Drill Down in Pie Chart not working in IE8 / Mozilla 5

    Hi Experts,
In my dashboards, drill down feature in Pie charts are not working if the flash is viewed in IE8 / Mozilla Firefox 5.
In IE7 it is working. Is there any browser settings required for this ? Pls suggest.
Drill down in column chart is working fine.
    Xcelsius Version: Xcelsius 2008 SP3 FP 3.5
    Browser Version: Firefox 5.0 / IE 8
    Many thanks,

    Hi,
You may want to download Xcelsius 2008 with SP4.
SP4 will support the newer IE 8 (32 bits) for Xcelsius related issue.
As for FireFox 5 that came out last week, this won't be supported anytime soon.

  • Pie Chart not showing

    Hi
I'm trying to display a pie chart in the WAD, I have a query associated to my Data provider, but it doesn't display properly. I'm running WAD 3.x and support package 7.
I tried to use different charts and it seems to display my results fine.
Any ideas why this is happening?

    MIcelle,
Te issue might be with the way the data is structured in the query..
Copy the data onto a separate sheet and then generate an EXCEL pie chart and change the table structure till you get the format of the graph as desired , now all you need to do is get the quer in the same fomat and you should be good to go.
The graph on the Web depends on the IGS , for Excel , it is based on Excel's charting engine and has not much to do with notes.
    Hope it helps..

  • Histogram works, Pie Chart doesn't :(

I have a simple form, which has 1 block, a block level "when-new-block-instance" trigger and 2 bean_area under the block (beans don't have any trigger code). This simple form is called from within another form when a button is pressed. The histogram (bar chart) works, but the simple pie chart doesn't work (only displays a single circle - not the slices on the pie). The related trigger code is below. Can anybody see what is wrong with the pie chart code ?

This uses the FormsGraph.jar file implementation as you can see. I know Frank Nimphius is the only expert when it comes to FormsGraph.jar at Oracle, but currently he is on vacation - so no official support to an unofficial (unsupported) charting implementation - but I thought there might be others who have done this before.
Can someone who implemented a pie chart share his/her code here - a simple pie chart, nothing fancy (like the one that comes with the graph90.fmb file, which I followed but did not figure out why my implementation is not working). Something with the vData string or number of vData strings requirement? no explanation in the FormsGraph.jar doc and I am not a java programmer to figure it out from the java source code. I am looking for a simple trigger code for the pie chart - not like "look at the forms90.fmb that comes with the demo package" kinda answer.
    Thanx

  • Pie Charts causing Design mode to give warning and not preview the app

I am using the final release. I have pie charts in my app. I
also have column charts. Both are fed data the same way. Both work
as expected when i build the app, and there are zero errors in the
app. however, i was experiencing an issue in flexbuilder where in
design mode, a vague warning was issued and the preview could not
be displayed (blank except for very gernal 'outlines' of the layout
    and controls)
I narrowed the problem down to the pie charts. Is anybody
experiencing this problem? The application worked as expected, and
previewed as expected in Design mode when previewd/built in Beta
    3.

    Hi masavran,
For this issue, it's related to the render environment (browser/application). On Reporting Services side, we don't have any properties to change the resolution for chart to make it smoothly. We suggest you post this thread on Visual Studio forum
    http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/vstudio/en-US/home?forum=visualstudiogeneral&filter=alltypes&sort=lastpostdesc
Or the forum of corresponding browser.

  • Pie Chart Legend not displaying full names

    Hi All,
In a RTF template, we have displayed a PIE chart. In the PIE chart, when the number of legends are more, the legends are getting truncated on the generated PDF report. The document which describes the issue with screen shots is placed at [http://www-apps.us.oracle.com/~sgnanama/Pie%20Chart%20Legends%20Display%20Issue.doc] . And following is the snippet of code placed at ALT text of PIE chart picture present in the template. Is there any way to enlarge the legends display section to show the full text of the legends? Please share your thoughts. Thanks.

as far as i know only way to display legname in full when u have more values is to make the size of the chart large . i have one the req like that i made it large enough so that it will withstand if i get more values .
it may not be good idea but this is the way i did .

  • Pie chart legend total does not calculate correctly

    Hi All
    I have a pie chart in a CR 2008 report (SP0).
The pie has one "On Change Of" and one "Show Value" field.
The datasource for the report is an Oracle 10g (Rel 2) Stored Procedure (SP).
The SP signs the value per each transaction (record), so if the txn is a reversal is will arrive in the report as a negative value
The records that are listed in the report have the correct sign on each line, and totals in the report are correct
So, if the first record has a value of 10,000 - these would be known as Cash txns
and the second record has a value of -5,000 - these would be known as Cash Reversal txns
The report total will be 5,000
In the legend entry of the pie chart the values per series are being displayed correctly.  There is a series per Txn type (so one series represents Cash txns, the second series represents Cash Reversal txns)
From the example above my pie shows 1 txn for Cash @ 10,000
and 1 txn for Cash Reversal @ -5000 (it has the negaitve amount in brackets)
But the total in the legend is 15,000
I cannot figure out why that the legend total is not calculating correclty.
Has anyone seen this behaviour before?
Any help would be great thanks
    Best regards
    Patrick

Just realised why....  The total is counting all txns, and my formula is not telling it that Reversal should be subtracted - duuhhhh!!!!

  • PIE Chart image si not displaying

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi
    Thanks for y'r response.
Data is correct,  i am taking name as on change field value, and salary on show value.

    Hi Deepak,
I had time dimension in the RPD.
I have stacked bar chart with same time dim like year & month in the report. when I go to legand and set navigation it is working fine. But not with pie chart.
I am not not sure what is the problem. When I click on Pie chart it is not navigating to the target report. Can it be any other issues..???

  • Pie chart drop shadows not printing properly.. cuts off right hand side of pie chart...???

Every time I go to print a pie chart that has a drop shadow applied to it, it cuts off the right hand side of the chart along with the shadow itself.  It looks HORRIBLE!!!  I went through and created a bunch of reports using that method, and now ALL of them have this problem.  It makes ZERO sense to me, and it appears that nobody else is experiencing this.  Does anybody have any ideas?

    Did you write this? :)
Anyways, here you go. You never instantiated the pie chart or added it to gui. I created a separate JFrame and put pie chart in it. Also added PieChart.resetPieChart in actionHandler method. This should get you started.

  • Xcelsius Present - Pie Chart Does Not Display

I am evaluating a trial copy of Xcelsius Present and I am having trouble with creating a Pie Chart. I have imported my spreadsheet and have made my data selection, but the pie chart does not display. I have used Crystal Reports in the past and have never run across the problem.  I have tried to create and import a new spreadsheet with the data needed for the pie chart, but I have the same problem with the chart not loading. This problem does not occur with other charts that I am creating.
Can anyone make a recommendation on what to do?
    Thanks.
    Anita

I'm having the same problem with the Xcelsius Present 2008 evaluation copy (5.3.0.0).
No matter how pie chart data is formatted, there is nothing displaying.
I'd like to know whether this is a known bug or whether this is only in the eval copy. This would prevent me from buying the product.
