Cs3 Ai not loading on Mac

Ok, long story short, about a year ago, i got an older model bubble back Mac from the VP of my art school (i work there part time, they take care of me) and i was waiting for paint to dry the other day, i was logging in, and noticed his name as the log in, so i thought, what the hell i'll change it to my name. WELP!
Since then, photoshop works fine, but when i go to open Ai, it says a couple of plug ins can not be loaded, therefore i have no tools, or anything to edit/ create art.
My question is: Can i revert the admin name change i did, if connected,
Or is there a way to reset the program with out losing it, or reset computer without losing it
i just emailed the president about asking for whatever i need to reinstall it to see if thatll work. (the CS3 i have is under the liscensing of the school)
PLEASE HELP!

This is the Lightroom Forum. Photoshop is down the hall somewhere.

Cleaning discs will load.  On a MBP that has never been cleaned, run the cleaning 2-3 times.  If you use the slot a lot, use the cleaning disc about every 3 months.

  • CS3 Indesign not loading with OS10.5.8

I loaded InDesign CS3 on an older G5 Mac which I just upgraded to 10.5.8 and InDesign isn't working on it. It starts to load and the InDesign rectangle shows on the screen but the pinwheel just keeps spinning. I have to do a forced close to get rid of it.
Any ideas how to get InDesign working?

First thing, have you updated CS3 to the latest patch, 5.0.4? You may need to download it from Adobe.com and install it manually since ID is not currently launching.
Clearing font caches may help, may not.
Also this is fairly typical of either missing Adobe oriental fonts or a problem in the SING subsytem. This OLD kb article talks about it for earlier versions, but solutions would be the same: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/328/328886.html Some users find they need to remove the SING folder and SING plugin entirely. Unless you set certain Asian type, you won't miss them.

  • Signed Applet not loading on Mac OS X if using HTTPS protocol

    Hi All,
I need to open a trusted applet on Mac OS 10.2. The applet works fine if using HTTP protocol. But if the protocol used is HTTPS the the applet does not loads and "javax.net.ssl.SSLException - untrusted server cert chain" exception comes on the console.
The error comes for both - Verisign and javakey - signed applet.
On seaching for possible solution on the net, i came across following link: http://www.macosxhints.com/article.php?story=20020525101202503&query=Workaround+for+secure+Java+applet+problems
It says that this is Mac's known bug and gives the workaround as:
    1. Access the problematic site with Internet Explorer on Windows. Click on the padlock item and export the certificate to a file.
    2. Copy the certificate to your Mac.
    3. Use the command
sudo keytool -import -trustcacerts -keystore /Library/Java/Home/lib/security/cacerts -file mycert.cer
to import the certificate file to your keystore (substitute mycert.cer with the name of the file containing the certificate). The keystore is password protected - the default password is "changeit".
    4. Restart your browser
But the client cannot be asked to do all this to run the applet.
Is this problem being solved by Mac in their java implementation or is there any other possible solution?
    Thanx in advance.
    Regards,
    Charu

I am experiencing the same problem - I notice it does not happen on OS9.2 using IE but appears a problem on all browsers on OSX
Apple gave me the following reply.....
Re: Bug ID# 3268633: cannot load applet class under https connection
    Hello Andrew,
Thank you for bringing this problem to our attention. We have received feedback
    from engineering on your
    reported issue.
Please know that to get Java to recognize the certificate you will need to do
    one of two things, depending
on which VM you are using. Since you want it to work with Internet Explorer, we
    will assume Java 1.3.1.
In Java 1.3.1 you'll need to add the certificate to
    /Library/Java/Home/lib/security/cacerts using
/usr/bin/keytool to import the certificate into the certificate database.
In Java 1.4.1 you should be able to just add the certificate to the keychain
    using certtool. For more
details on how to do this, please refer to the information found at
    <http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.1/docs/tooldocs/solaris/keytool.html>. After
doing so, if you should require
further help from Apple in resolving this issue, we recommend that you request
    assistance from Developer
Technical Support. This must be done by filing a Technical Support Incident.
So I am supposed to tell every Mac user to do the above am I?!!!

If you go to the Adobe Support Knowledgebase, you can find
    this sort of
answer for yourself. Type "licensing has stopped working"
    into the
"Search for" field, select "Dreamweaver" from the "Product"
    menu, and
click search. The following page comes up as the first

  • CS3 won't load on Mac G5

Before we left for the weekend everything was fine, now 2 computers have the same issue.
CS3 on PowerPC G5 OS10.5.8 - Bridge loads fine, all other apps seem to load and operate normally.  CS3 gets to the Blue Splash screen and then I get the spinning wheel of death.  Why isn't it loading, what do I need to do?
Called Adobe and they directed me here.  The guy on the phone knew what the problem was and wouldn't tell me because "your product is no longer supported."  WTH? - you know what it is and you can' tell me?  Nice!

It was a Kubota issue - not PS.  Still since Adobe knew of the issue couldn't the tech on the phone said - "Check with Kubota" instead of me wasting half a day because CS3 is no longer supported.  Thanks Adobe

  • Indesign CS3 will not load

I have Adobe Creative Suite CS3 installed on my home PC (Windows XP). All the Adobe programs will start without problems, except Indesign CS3. Nothing happens when I try to start the program. Not even a message comes up? Can anyone help me solve this problem?
    With kind regards
    Maria

I have the same issue on a pc that I've loaded CS3 on. I have a corporate license of CS3 and know for sure the seat is available for install to this machine. It's a Dell Optiplex GS270, P4 @ 2.66Ghz, 2GB ram. the OS is XP pro, fully patched. I'm only using a single Dell monitor. I ran typical install of CS3 from disk, got all the updates from Adobe. Everything opens just fine except for InDesign. When I try to launch the InDesign.exe process appears in Task Manager for 1-2 seconds and goes away. Nothing else happens, no error messages, nothing.
I've loaded CS3 on my other users without any problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks, John

aau2002 -- I have a simple applet using swing which I compiled with OSX, moved the class file to my desktop, installed the Swing stuff for OS 9.
My html file is as follows:
    <HTML>

    <applet name="main applet" codebase="." code="DrawField.class" width=200 height=200 </applet>

I must not have correctly installed the swing stuff...

  • 4GB Flash Drive not loading on Mac (but on Windows and Ubuntu)

    Hello,
I have a 4GB flash drive (probably from LG) that I bought about 3 years ago. It was working just fine all this time but now, all of a sudden, it's gone. Not working, showing up neither in Finder nor in Disk Utility. But it works just fine on Windows 7 and Ubuntu. Files are even readable there. I tried re-formatting it on Ubuntu in FAT-32 but it still won't show up on a Mac.
Any other flash drive is showing up on my computer (tested with 2 different ones).
    Any clue?

I don't claim to know the solution to your problem, but in your situation I would try either or both administrator install methods: 1) Right-click the downloaded install file, choose "Run as Administrator" and install the software as usual. 2) Try using a different Windows account that you are positively certain has full administrator rights or the actual Administrator login name, install with that account.
Also, make sure you empty the browser cache before retrying the http pages. What about other browser settings, like security or privacy settings? Any add-ons or antivirus browser helper objects?
Do you only use Internet Explorer, or is this issue the same in Firefox, Opera, Chrome and Safari?
Good luck, hope you get the error fixed.

  • Error message: "Missing required plugins" - Illustrator CS3 will not load

I am running CS3 Web Prem on Vista, dual core Athlon with 2g Ram.
Illustrator has stopped working - gives error message: "Missing required plugins. Pathfinder Suite." Or it says "Missing required plugins. ArtConverters.aip PDFformat.aip Pathfinder suite.aip Rasterize.aip"
I have tried the suggestions from knowledge base article - I have tried deleting AIprefs; I have also tried in new user account - initially worked but not on opening program a second time. I have also re-installed Illustrator.
    Any other solutions?

    Glad to hear it.
Not sure what possible nuances to performance or memory management there may be to running in compatibility mode. Since I can't run in any other mode, it is hard to make a comparison.
It seems to run fine though, for me.
There should be a Windows Update that came out in the last day or so that is supposed to address this issue (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/947562). At least thats what it says.
BUT, after that fiasco with SP1, I am real reluctant to do any more updates.
SP1 toasted my ability to connect with network resources, external and some internal hard drives, ALL my USB equipment failed to connect anymore. I removed SP1 (uninstalled it per the instructions on the MS KB) but that process trashed the OS and required a complete clean re-install of Vista. A week later I am pretty much back to where I should be (see, my system backups were with SP1. Brilliant, eh?).
Still have to run many so-called "Vista Compatible" applications in this compatability mode though.

  • Audio Filters Not Loading - CS6 Mac

I've encountered a strange problem that I hadn't seen in previous versions of PPro.
I had applied a number of audio filters in a recent project. While in the process of doing this, the program crashed. When I re-opened the project, I received the message:
    "Audio Filter missing:  1094998321 Dynamics1
    Audio Filter missing:  1095915057 Reverb1"
and so on, for any audio filter applied.
Clicked "OK" and the project continued opening, however the effects panel for all audio clips with filters applied now read "Offline (filter unavailable)"
Strange. Deleted then reapplied the filter. Played back correctly. Closed the program, reopened, and the filter is once again "offline".
    I tried a few workarounds:
    1. "replace and render" the audio clips. This froze the program and I had to force quit
    2. exporting clips to Audition. This also locked up the program
    3. apply filters then render final audio file in Adobe Encoder. Audio file rendered, but filters weren't applied.
Very strange and frustrating. Any ideas on the cause of this or possible solutions?
    2008 Mac Pro 3,1 (2 x Xeon 2.8 GHz processors)
    16 GB RAM
    GTX 285 video card
Project files and media cache on separate drive from program

I have experienced this problem several times with Premiere Pro CS6 and PluralEyes 3.0 for Windows.
The problem is simple:  when you apply an audio effect to a track that was synced by PluralEyes, Premiere Pro gets confused about whether the track is mono or stereo.  Premiere Pro applies the effect properly, but when it saves this effect in its project file, it writes the incorrect filter name.
Then when you restart Premiere Pro, it reads the project file, extracts the incorrect filter name, and complains about the "missing" filter.
The solution is simple:  just edit the Premiere Pro project file (which is in XML format) to contain the correct filter name.  For example, when I added the Lowpass and Bass effects to a PluralEyes audio track, Premiere Pro wrote these to the project file:
    <FilterMatchName>Internal Lowpass Mono</FilterMatchName>
    <FilterMatchName>Internal Bass Mono</FilterMatchName>
When I changed those from "Mono" to Stereo with a text editor, then reloaded Premiere Pro, it solved my problem:
    <FilterMatchName>Internal Lowpass Stereo</FilterMatchName>
    <FilterMatchName>Internal Bass Stereo</FilterMatchName>
The trick, of course, was in discovering the correct names for these effects.  To do that, I:
Created a new Premiere Pro CS6 project
Imported the audio track in question
    Dropped it into a sequence
Applied the audio effect(s) in question
    Saved the project
Opened the Premiere Pro project file (which ends in ".prproj") in a text editor
Searched for the effect name (e.g., 'Lowpass" or "Bass")
The filter names are not always this predictible; for example, when Premiere Pro wrote "<FilterMatchName>1095782705 EQ1</FilterMatchName>", it really meant "<FilterMatchName>1095782706 EQ2</FilterMatchName>".  And when it wrote "<FilterMatchName>1094998321 Dynamics1</FilterMatchName>", it really meant "<FilterMatchName>1094998322 Dynamics2</FilterMatchName>".

  • Preference Error: Could not load Sharing (Mac OS X 10.4.9 PPC)

I just noticed it today, but I'm unable to open my Sharing preferences anymore. It's probably been a few weeks since I last opened my Sharing prefs. That last major change to my Mac was installing the Mac OS X 10.4.9 update. Not sure if that had anything to do with it. I was running 10.4.8 and have had not other problems since upgrading usign Software Updater (I updated iTunes & Quicktime also). I Verified Disk Permissions in Disk Utility both before and after upgrading, and just ran it again to no effect.
I've searched, but have been unable to find a solution to this problem. I've tried removing the com.apple.security.plist file, tried accessing Sharing from another user account. Neither worked. Next I'll try running the combo 10.4.9 updater, but I'm hoping someone here knows of a solution.

I fixed the problem. I replaced the SharingPref.prefpane with one from an older G4 running 10.4.9. In the process I noticed that the one I replaced was only version 1.3.1, but the working one was version 1.4.
I checked the 10.4.9 updater with Pacifist, and there isn't any update to SharingPref.prefpane, so somehow my SharingPref.prefpane didn't get updated in some earlier update, and then went bad, or maybe was corrupted by some incompatibility with 10.4.9, or maybe it was totally unrelated to the 10.4.9 update.
But it's finally working fine again now!
