CS3: brightness problem after rendering

Hello everybody,
I'm using Premiere Pro CS3 and I have a problem when I use Adobe Media Encoder to render my HDV 720p project: the final result looks brighter than the original footage on the timeline.
Anybody had the same problem? Could you please help me?

I did some tests.
1. It appears the problem is not my monitor: I connected my PC to a CRT TV and also viewed the images on a Laptot and the brightness intensity is the same.
2. I tried to render from AE to a loseless file and then import the loseless file in Premiere for the final render to MPEG2 file, but the final result doesn't change.
3. I tried to use another program: Sony Vegas Pro 9.0. I imported the MOV into Vegas and started a render to MPEG2 file. The result was the same as in Premiere: too much brightness.
4. So I went on with the tests and rendered to different formats/codecs. The most decent results I obtained with Lagarith Loseless Codec in Premiere and Sony AVC in Vegas.
But still I'm not satisfied. The image is still a little too bright, which is a problem because I have some granulation issues on the original footage.
I could try to darken the image before starting to render but I would like to find a more "professional" way.
If anyone else has other suggestions they are welcome
Thank you all for the support!

  • Desaturated, too bright footage after rendering

    Hey everyone!
I'm having some trouble with rendering out my footage(s).
They become desaturated (color loss) and bright for some reason.
I tried different render methods, codecs, formats...almost same result on each of them.
Here is a picture, it can explain better:
The original footage is much darker, and may lack of some detail, but it more colorful.
Also, the color loss/brightening is only visible on the rendered movie (doesn't matter which codec or video player I use) - usually I use h264.
I do short animations as well, in AE. If I trie to render it out in AE, I get the same result.
First time, I noticed this problem, I rendered out a 40 min footage, and something was off. I couldn't fix this issue, and for some reason, I checked some old footage. They ahd the same problem, but I did not notice it before (see below - picture).
    I'm using Adobe CS6, Windows 7 64bit.
    Thanks in advance!

    It's not the monitor.
Be it WMP, be it Quicktime, be it whatever, it's not the monitor.
The same washed out finished product looked exactly the same on the dvd on both a PS3 with 1080p tv, to an old projector attached to an old DVD player at school as it did on my computer with said monitor.
Sure, slight changes, but still the same kind of ugly.
    It's not the monitor.
It's some kind of difference in Premier to the encoder, or the players or something, or some kind of weird bug. For the last time though, trust me, it's not the monitor. In fact, the monitor's gamma was up to high, and I figured that early on and I managed to match the original footage to itself through the camera.
Even if it was the monitor, how do I get it to look decent? There is no way because play with the color and brightness gets and ugly output no matter what, because you can't even guess what it'll look like. Premier and After Effects are pretty much rendered useless to me at this point, and I keep getting told it's the monitor. It's not. I've done 100 things to check that.

  • Strange problem after rendering!

Hi guys , could you help me please? my system is Premiere Pro CS3, Win Vista32, 2gb Ram , integrated ATI xpress 200m with 128mb (with the last drivers), core2duo 1.8.
My problem is the following: after importing an AVI 640x480 30fps clip shot with my sony digital camera t20, i add it to the timeline, i play it and it works fine but right after rendering it , it jumps and flick. It also plays fine with windows media player so i was wondering why !!?!??
Are my setting of the project correct? I used DV NTSC 48khz project, but dont think that is something about these settings right? could it be main settings of premiere? i also read that some people had problems using the same graphic card 200m with premiere and vista, could the problem be connected with it?
thanks in advance if you can help...

No. Sorry. I have seen video shot on the same camera at 24fps and at 30fps and the difference was barely detectable. Both scenes were lit the same and shot the same other than frame rate. If we slowed it down it was detectable. Once played on a 20' screen it was a lot more evident, however. When the footage took up my entire area of vision, then the stuttering of the slower frame rate was easier to see. But on a smaller screen, no.
The "video" look is caused by a lack of depth of field and a sharper contrast, both of which should be addressed during production, not post. Just slowing the frame rate just isn't enough to make it not look like video.

  • Sound problems after rendering

    Hi,
Being that I have Premiere Pro 7.0, I am not too sure how  much help I will get, but i was hoping that someone here could still  help if all possible. Here is my problem. I thought I start practicing  developing video lessons for 3d software. These lessons would be created  using a screen captureing program, called camStudio. In my first  lesson, my first try doing the entire lesson as one video, I found out  that the video file size exceeded CamStudio's exporter file size  allowance when trying to save out to Microsoft DV 1 AVI file. I then  decided to split the lesson into 2, but final compose it as one video in  Premiere Pro 7.0. Since the lesson was broken up into 2 screen captured  videos, I thought it would make things easier if each screen captured  video was in its own simulation. So, in other words,  I have created 2  simulations in one project, and then I had nested both of them into the  3rd simulation. For example, simulation 1 was called lesson1 part a, and  simulation 2 was named lesson1 part b, and the third simulation was  called lesson1. Once I had everything setup, at first everything was  working fine, meaing I could see the video and hear the sound tracks.  However, after I choose to render the sequence using Microsoft DV11 AVI,  I do not get any sound, and yet I made sure that the exporter exports  both the video and audio. Furthermore, after rendering the project,  going back to Premiere Pro's project, and pressing play, I get the  error.... Disk Write Error: Verify drive connection, available disk  space and disk  access privileges
However, when I go inside  simulation 1 or simulation 2, I still hear their sound tracks. One other  thing I have noticed is that I get the sound back in the project if I  move the orginal simulations into a new simulation. By doing that, I am  then able to recover the project,. but if I choose to render again, the  same process happens all over again.
    Does anyone Have  any ideas?
    My Specs
    Adobe Premiere Pro 7.0
    Windows  XP SP3
    CPU 3.0GHz processor
    RAM 512MB

so are you saying that the problem could be comming from how I did my recording with CamStudio? Not to change the subject, but you see, I am kind of lost. My goal is to provide some free video lessons. I was thinking my final encoded videos will be in DivX or XVid. CamStudio does offer users to compress to thise types of format. Howeveer, due to owning a very cheap microphone, those kinds that sit on your desktop, is causing me to have the biggest problem, since there is a good amount of background hissing noise in my recordings. So, I have been using both CamStudio for the screen capturing and Audacity to do the voice recording. Then in Audacity, I try my best of tuning up the voice and removing the background hissing noise. Once that is finished, I then need some sort of video editing software that allows me to put the video and my voice recodring together as well as splicing areas of the lesson where I stutter or slurr my speach a bit, which can be easily fixed in Adobe Premire Pro. However,  my version of Premiere does not offer XVid or DivX encoding. I was thinking of using VirtualDub, but I really do not want to have 5 programs, just so that I can fix all of my problems, not to mention I have no $$$$ left. So is there a free better way?

  • Audio problem after rendering!

Hi everyone! I am having a problem with sound in my project after rendering. I am using Adobe Premiere CS2 , and in Audio track 1, I have someone speaking, and in track 2 I have backround music. When I play it back in the window, together it sounds perfect. After rendering, the voice becomes very crackly and distorted. I have tried rendering just the voice without the backround music, and it sounds perfect. It seems the addition of backround music is causing the distortion to the other track. I have tried rendering the backround music seperately and adding it in, but still the problem persists. I adjust the music so that when the kids are talking, the music dips down, and when they are not, I leave it at it's normal level. HELP..I am losing my grip on this one! Thanks so much....Tammy

    Tammy,
If we've dropped a bit of time for this part of the edit, you now have time for more fun aspects of it.
While I will casually monitor my Meters, I spend much more time with a good set of noise-canceling headphones, listening critically. The Meters are basically to point up potential issues. With Audio, if you have not invested in a really good set of headphones, do yourself a big favor, and sneak 'em into the budget.
Glad that you got things toned down.
Now, let's go on to Lesson 02 - The Audio Mixer. Unlike adding Keyframes to a Clip, when your cutting is done, you can apply Track Keyframes to attenuate (also Pan, etc.) you Audio Tracks to suit. One would just change the Send in that Track to Write, or Touch, and "ride the gain" with the slider, as is required. I probably do most of my Audio editing there, than addressing the individual Clips. First thing that I have done is cut back a bit on the frequency of the Track Keyframes in Edit>Preferences, as I find the default to add too many (and you can go in and adjust these by hand, if you need to "smooth" things out a bit.). One caution: do this when you are satisfied with the cuts, Clip placement, etc., as these Keyframes are applied to the Track. If you were to remove a Clip, and replace it, those Keyframes would apply to that new Clip, whether you want them to, or not. This trips some folk up, if they do the Audio Mixer thing too soon in the editing. Wait until you are "in love" with your Timeline otherwise. It's like scoring a Project. One does that as about the very last step, or much work will be repeated, and that is not fun.
    Good luck,
    Hunt

  • Picturesize problem after Rendering a timeline in Premiere Pro CS4

    Hello,
I currently work with 4.1.0 and have the following problem. When I import Tif sequenze 1280x720 as film, first the film looks correct. The red line above in the timeline says that the sequence is not rendered. When I render now this timeline by pressing the Enter-key, after rendering the content looks zoomed in the preview and on an output monitor the picturesize shrink to approx. 70 %. But there is no effect on this track. This happens simply with original tif files. When I use JPEG files the problem does not exists. So I presume a problem when processing tif files. Do you know problem like this?
    Thanks for an answer
    André

    André,
    What are your Project/Sequence Presets?
Is Scale to Frame off, or on?
    Good luck,

  • Strange problem after rendering reader extension

Pdf file is working well before rendering reader extension right. After reader extension right one page is automatically created double.
I cannot realize why the page become double. I was analysing with xfa debuger. All properties of page same but page2 is created double.
    https://dl.dropbox.com/u/70850345/print/xfaDebuger.jpg
I also moved page 3 next to page1. Then page3 is created double after rendering reader extension right.
DO you know why this page is created double?

    Hi,
there are several bugs in you form, which is really 'complicated'.
Most are allowed page breaks for subforms where you did not allow page breaks for the parent objects (the surrounding subforms or pages).
You also set several subforms flowable while the surrounding page are set positioned.
I fixed a few of the problems but not all as I had not the time.
The next thing I don't understand are the many masterpages which have almost the same content.
You'll need just one. All the rest can be placed on the body page(s).
In fact you also only need a single body page which is floating top-to-bottom and allows page breaks.
There you can place all the subforms you currently set as single pages.

  • Weird Problem after Rendering

Okay, so my first edit was a 2 hour long video that was recorded by software from DxTory which records video games. This records in 1080 P so that's what I was hoping to get from the video. After editing, and exporting and rendering in the MPEG HDTV 1080p 29.97 which turned out to be about 12.5 GB large. Uploading this to YouTube I found that the video is only viewable in 360p not what I had expected in 1080p. Did I do something wrong while rendering, if so, what can I do to get my videos to be in 1080 p on YouTube.

    CurtisC
You are going to be bound by the upload limitations of your exports. There is no way to extend the Premiere Elements 12 Publish+Share/Social Websites/YouTube limitations of file size 2.0 GB/15 minutes. However, if you take your Timeline to a file, you still have to deal with YouTube at the YouTube web sites. You can get extended limitations there that you cannot get through the within Premiere Elements upload route.
Of all the export choices from Premiere Elements, probably the smallest file size would be expected from a Publish+Share/Computer/Windows Media export (see customization under Advanced Button). But, even there a 12.5 GB seems even much for YouTube to OK. But, I do not know how far YouTube will go with these special accounts with extended limits.
Although Facebook and Vimeo do not show limitations in the Premiere Elements Social Websites feature, they appear to have them. See their web sites for further information on that.
Will decreasing the duration of your video compromise the video message that you are trying to convey with your presentation? Can you get your messages across in a series of shorter videos?
Have you looked at the Windows Media and AVCHD .mp4 choices under Publish+Share/Computer?

  • Rendering problem, changes do not show up after rendering?

I am new to this and can not figure out why the end result after rendering only shows the "original" movie clip, none of the editing i have done are showing up? when i scrub through the composition everything works fine? I have tried both the ordinary render queue in AE and Adobe media encoder.

Yeah I think I got it right with the rendering queue, however I saw something now that may have something to do with the problem, my corrections is visible when I have "fast draft" chosen under the "fast previews" button, when i change to "off (final quality" the effect disappears? I thought the choices under that button just is what it says, for fast previews?
I attach the screenshots you where asking for.

  • BUG: text rendering problems after keyboard firmware update

    Hey all!
Just letting you know that today, after installing the keyboard/mouse firmware update 1.0, the font rendering in many applications become weird, letters may overlap, see some screenshots:
    http://artemio.net/tmp/apple/bug1.png
    http://artemio.net/tmp/apple/bug2.png
My system is iMac Intel Core Duo 17", 2 GB RAM, 250 GB HDD, Mac OS 10.4.6.

Just to clarify, that was a software update, not a firmware update. I don't think the keyboard has any resident firmware.
Since this is a new update from Apple, and there have been very few posts about problems after it was installed, (I have seen a couple here) I think that you should call and speak directly with an Apple Customer Service rep. That way Apple knows some have issues with the update and they may have suggestions.
Let us know what they say.

  • Artifacts created after rendering

    Hi,
I'm using Premiere Pro CS3 to edit my animation movie.
When I was using my old computer everything worked just fine, but when I copied the project to my new computer I noticed that after rendering, some artifacts were created in some of the shots (the artifacts do not appear in the original files just after rendering).
I installed premiere again but that didn't help, also my graphic card driver is the most updated.
Anyone know what can be the problem?
    Thanks.

That helped some but I still think I have some setting not right?  I just upgraded to 6.0 and a new computer and just started having this porblem.  I'm running an oracle with a ton of ram somewhere around 60 and really good graphics card I'm really surprised that I need to wait for a minute or 2 for the yellow render screen to go away and show my video again? Not sure just kinda quarky I think

  • Freezing issues with AE CS3 (Scrubbing Audio & Video, Rendering)

    I have a Mac Pro 8 core 2.8 (Jan 2008), 6GB Ram, Mac OS 10.5.2 (Clean Install), AE 8.0.2, QT 7.4.1, ATI Radeon 2600...
I can scrub video by dragging the now line, but when I hold down the command key to scrub audio and video, After Effects saves a copy and freezes up every time... Doesn't matter sd or hd comps... I've tried removing both AE and QT plug ins & Codecs to see if any were bad... I've also tried uninstalling and reinstalling...
Not sure if this is related, but After Effects also saves a copy and freezes up whenever it finishes rendering a composition...
Aside from that everything else works fine, so I can get work done, just slows down the workflow a bit...
Never had problems with AE CS3 on my Dual G5/Tiger, Though I'm not sure what I need to do settingswise on Intel/Leopard... Any suggestions would be appreciated...

First of all I want to thank Jonas and Mylenium for your suggestions... Sorry I couldn't get back to you sooner, but I had a few deadlines to meet this week...
I tried both suggestions... I was still getting crashes...
Just an hour ago, I figured out the problem... I also have a MOTU 828 firewire audio interface plugged in, and it was set to output After Effects audio... as soon as I turned it off, I could monitor scrubbing audio, and I was able to render without crashes...
I'm assuming that anytime After Effects would send audio to the 828, it would crash (including the chime after rendering)... I never had this problem before with my G5/Tiger setup, so I never considered it... I guess thats where I should have started in the first place... In the meantime, I'll have to bring this bug to the attention of MOTU and see if they can figure it out in their driver...
    Thanks again guys!

  • CS3 reinstall problem - asking for uninstalled CS4 beta

I have a PowerBook G4 with 1.5 Gb RAM running Mac OS 10.4.11. I have the CS3 Suite installed and last year downloaded a beta copy of Fireworks CS4. After using it a bit, I uninstalled Fireworks CS4 with the Adobe uninstaller.
I recently had a problem with Bridge and decided to uninstall and reinstall the software. I uninstalled Photoshop CS3 (in order to uninstall Bridge) and when I began to reinstall Photoshop, the installer ask me to insert the Fireworks CS4 disk! Since I don't have that disk, I hit cancel and the install terminated (I tried this multiple times and rebooted each time)
I then downloaded and ran Adobe's CS4 Cleanup app. It found NO CS4 apps to clean up.
    Any suggestions would be appreciated.
    Mark

Thanks Neil and Buko for your input. Here's where things stand now:
    1) I uninstalled FW CS4
    2) I uninstalled CS3
    3) I ran Cleanup Script
    4) I repaired permissions using Disk First Aid
    5) I reinstalled CS3
The problems with Bridge remained (sluggish, won't display icons properly, won't show a preview image, won't operate the folder list, etc.).
So I called Adobe support. Unfortunately, because I am having problems installing CS3 and NOT CS4, support is NOT FREE. The rep was helpful though -- she pointed me to document number 331594 (Diagnosing Bridge problems) and told me to start there. I followed EVERY step . . . disable start-up scripts, reverted to original preferences, cleaned up the cache, disabled the folder windows, and the problems remain.
    Guess I'll have to pay . . .
Lesson learned: don't trial Adobe software. That's when my problems began.

  • H264 asynchron after rendering

    dear community,
I have recently bought Adobe Premiere Elements 11 to cut recorded TV program. It was recored from DVB-C via Terrratec H5 Stick using Terratec Home Cinema.
First i tried cutting t with 2 different free programs, Smart Cutter and Avidemux. Smart Cutter always crashed during the process. Using Avidemux I always got asynchron video and sound (beginning was synchron, got more and more asynchron until I had a shift of 2 seconds at the end of the film!).
Now with Adobe Premiere Elements 11 for Windows I have the same problem after cutting off the beginning and the end (with the same video file I have an approximately shift of 45 seconds, sound is 45 seconds slower). I tried out different players (VLC, Windows Media Player, Windows Media Center), all having the same problem. Before rendering Premiere Elements plays it perfectly synchron.
    input file:
    Typ: MPEG-film (TS-File, H.264)
    Size: 7,2 GB
    Resolution: 1280x720
    Framerate 50,00
    Audio: 48000 Hz - compressed - stereo
    Length: 1:57:35:15
    Average datarate: 1,0MB/second
    Pixel-ratio: 1,0
    export settings:
    Typ: MPEG2
    Resolution: 1280x720
    Framerate 50 fps
    TV-Standard: NTSC
    Audio: Dolby Digital, 448 Kbit/s, 48 Hz
After investing into Adobe software and rendering for 45 minutes (with Intel i7 2600k) I would have expected to get a perfectly synchron result.
I would be very pleased if you could help me find a solution.

The commercial likely only contained a 2-channel (Stereo) Audio Stream, where the program content contained DD 5.1 SS in DD AC3. It sounds like you were (before you ran it through XMedia Recode) only getting the LS (Left Surround) and RS (Right Surrond), or rear channels only. Most dialog is fed to the Center channel, with some to LF (Left Front) and RF (Right Front).
Though not in video editing, I have encountered such with a home theater system, which fed Audio to a separate amp and speakers in another room - only the LS and RS channels were being fed from the receiver. To correct that, I had to replace that receiver with one that had a full second stage. In my case, the Center channel was completely missing, with little, if any LF & RF - only LS & RS.
Glad that you found a solution, and posted that.
    Good luck,
    Hunt

  • Nokia Lumia 1520 - Screen Brightness Problem

I  have two Nokia Lumia 1520.
Both of them have the same problem. I will explain the problem to you in detail and before that let me assure you I am a Windows Phone long time user , have been part of the development , developed several apps for the platform and I have used Lumia 800 , 720 , 920 , 925 and now 1520. So I am well aware of all the settings , sunlight readability , automatic brightness etc. This problem is not due to any of these , I can assure you
    Now the problem ,
I set the automatic brightness option OFF
I move the brightness to HIGH
    Then I lock the phone
When I unlock the phone , the brightness drops by 10% suddenly without any intervention
This problem happens sometime. Some days I see this problem , some days I don't and there are few days where I see this problem very heavily.
I purchased another 1520 and it has the same problem. I am very sure , from my experience that this is a firm ware issue. This is NOT a hardware problem , but a serious problem from your software end. It is prudent that Nokia recognizes this problem and finds a solution to this. Interestingly , I am not the only one who is facing this problem , the whole globe is facing the same problem and for such a pricey phone , this is a frustrating experience - very frustrating. I am sending some links , which will show the problems users are facing:

The phone is rock solid and amazing except this irritating problem.
I have only few days within which I can request a exchange from the merchant. So if any Nokia official can confirm that a software fix is on the way , it would be super helpful
    Nokia , please help !
Moderator's note: We have removed the IMEI numbers. Posting of personal information is not allowed in this forum for security purposes.

I have Nokia Lumia 1520 Black.
I have also been facing the same problem with screen brightness.
The problem occurs only when the Brightness is in Automatic mode.
--> When the Brightness is set to Automatic mode & take out from dark location to bright location the display turns out to weird grey color.
--> And then if the brightness is set to low, medium or high display comes to normal.
Is this issue related to the hardware or software.
If it is related to the Software will you be able to fix it ? or else How about the replacing with the new one ?
    Awaiting for the response.
