CS3 bug identified. Will it be fixed?

I am excited to upgrade to CS3, but I am experiencing an issue that is not present in the previous version. The program crashes when trying to render the audio previews of a nested timeline. The error looks like this:
Premiere Pro Debug Event
"[..\..\Src\AudioRender\StackAudioBuffer.cpp-58]"
This is not a problem in version 2.0. I simply cannot upgrade to CS3 until this has been fixed......Will a patch be released? I found a user forum where someone else had the same problem. This is what he wrote:
"I can continually reproduce this audio bug. Whenever I use a "constant power" audio transition on a stereo clip with a "fill left" filter applied that is at the end of one of the adjoining clips, I get an error about a audio stack problem. I can reproduce this all day and night. Simply remove the audio transition and it works until I hit the next transition that does not have any overlap on one side"
The timeline I am trying to render has many occurrences of what he is explaining, so it could certainly point to the problem.

>There is no guarantee that anyone from Adobe is here
I have seen the teams of other apps here on the Forum but never for Premiere!
http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/mmform/index.cfm?name=wishform&product=7
That is the bug report page.
>So its a godo idea to document it here and have others duplicate it to confirm it is indeed a >big and not an local environment problem.
That is a good point but keep in mind that the environmental issue might be one that many users will encounter and may be determined not by the condition of the environment but by the configuration. This might not be confirmed here on the forum if the users here have a different configuration. Unless it is clearly determine that is corruption, conflict or lack of resources.
To that regard the what is your configuration? And are all your plug ins up to date?
BTW it is also possible that both users have a corruption that is identical so it can still go either way!

When Apple releases a new OS (such as Lion), is it fully stable or it has bugs that will be fixed further?

Nothing is fully stable when released.
What I wouldn't recommend is upgrading it if your not prepared to deal with bugs and/or changes.  (And you only need to read the forums and complaints for posts about people who are not trying to resolve bugs, but rather a soapbox for changes that they do not like)
In a professional world, upgrades are tested before we release them to labs or desks - which means we apply an upgrade to our images, see what works, what doesn't and put together a list of things to fix/resolve/upgrade before we push it out.
I have done this where I work, and have a prelim result, but I wouldn't push it out without a *.1 update installed at the least - more so for critical systems, and in terms of images - we would build a clean image for such a major upgrade after the .1

  • APO Table to identify where cells are fixed

    Hello,
In DP I'm looking for a means of identifying which cells against which CVCs have been fixed. Is there a table I can look at which references these fixed cells (in the same way as notes are stored)? Any alternative methods of identifying fixed cells in a report would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Somnath,
That is great idea, thanks for replying to my question. I've been looking on SAP help for the macro function that you describe and assume that it is 'MARKED_FIXED_COLS'? However when I go into Macro workbench this function/operator is not available from the drop down and I receive a syntax error if I try to generate the macro with the function manually entered.
I have confirmed that I'm looking at the correct online help for my system i.e. SCM 4.1. Any advice otherwise I consider this a bug and will raise a customer message?
    Many thanks for your time,
    Nick

    Question
I am unable to open certain pages on sites. I have to switch over to IE because the new Firefox update is not accomodated on their websites! When will this be fixed... sites included Ameritrade, FAFSA, and others...

First and foremost, you should update to 3.6.17 because the version you're running at the moment is insecure and exposes your system to attack. Update via '''Help '''| '''Check For Updates'''.
That may even fix the problem since several minor bugs were also fixed in later versions.
Similarly, after updating, go to the [http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/plugincheck/ Plugins Check] page and update those which are necessary.
If the problem persists, try running Firefox in [[Safe Mode]]. If it functions properly in that configuration, then one of your add-ons is the culprit.
I didn't experience a problem myself accessing any of those sites you mentioned. See screenshot.

  • Right now, Firefox works on Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 but not on the Xperia X10 mini. Why is that and will it be fixed?

I have the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 mini and would LOVE to have Firefox Mobile on it. However for now, Firefox is only compatible with the Xperia X10. Why is that and will it be fixed?

This is due to the processor that the X10 mini uses. Firefox mobile requires a processor that supports the ARMv7 architecture, but the processor in the X10 mini supports ARMv6 architecture.
For a time Mozilla were developing a version that worked on processors that use ARMv6, but this has currently been stopped as there were bugs that caused it to constantly crash. Mozilla ''might ''start developing for the ARMv6 processors again but at this time they are not actively working on it.

when i try submitting my RSS feed for a podcast itunes says we are experiencing technical difficulties...... why is this and when will it be fixed?

Well, I can't see any problem with the feed, and the episode media file is correctly referenced and plays. Incidentally you do have a 'copyright' tag - it says 'Wippenberg'.
When a podcast feed is rejected, corrected and resubmitted there is a minor bug in the Store which causes you to be told that the podcast has already been submitted (which is true but irrelevant - it's really meant to prevent duplicates). To get round this you need to make a small change to the title - for example you could add a hyphen and space before 'Podcast'. You can always change it back once it's been accepted.
The other issue might be the content. The reason given for rejection tends to be technical issues, whatever the actual reason is. I haven't listened to your podcast, so I can't comment directly. Possible reasons for rejection are unacceptable content, sexual content or strong language when the 'explicit' tag is not said to 'yes', and copyright infringement: a lot of people fall over this one by including 'mixes' or indeed full plays of commercially issued recordings without having written permission from the copyright owners or alternatively a valid Podcast Licence (not available in all countries, possibly only the USA). I have no idea whether this might be an issue with yours.

  • Heavy JInternalFrame will not be fixed?!!

    Hello
I just got the message from the bugdatabase:
    http://bugs.sun.com/bugdatabase/view_bug.do?bug_id=4154448
Old State: In progress, request for enhancement New State: Closed, will not be fixed
After more then 10 years of waiting it will not be fixed???!!!! f...
    Can somebody explain me WHY?

No. Can I do it now or is it too late? That was kind of a joke, Jaspre :)
I read it just after your first post. I was so upset with "will not be fixed status" so I missed it somehow :)
For other people who are interested in the subject there are a good news:
Having the Heavyweight/Lightweight Mixing feature implemented, we don't actually need any heavyweight JInternalFrame. At least the problems <...> are successfully resolved with the fix for 4811096 at JDK7.
Jaspre, does it mean that with Java 7 we can easily mix heavy and light components?

Have a  problem with Lightroom 5.4.  Since the program crashed yesterday it won't launch, it comes up with the message "Lightroom encountered an error when reading its preview cache and needs to quit".  "  Lightroom will attempt to fix this problem next time it launches".  Except that it doesn't, I keep getting the same message and the program closes.  Does anyone know what I  can do to repair it?  Can't back up, can't do anything.

There are dozens of threads in this forum that describe the fix

  • My lightroom wont load because it had problems reading a cache. It says it will try to fix problem on reload but it doesnt. How do I fix this please.

My computer had a unexpected shutdown and it was while it was uploading pictures. Now its saying Lightroom encountered an error when reading from its preview cache and needs to quit. Lightroom will attempt to fix this problem the next time it launches.
I am a professional photographer and I have 2 weddings and 2 events that need to be edited very soon and I am worried about not being able to bring lightroom back up. Can anyone help please. I have tried relaunching several times with no luck. I have shut down the computer and restarted but again no luck. I have even upgraded from the lightroom 4 something to the 5.4 but still no luck. Please help anyone.

    Step-by-step instructions:
    1. find preview cache folder.
    2. Close Lightroom
    3. delete it (preview cache folder).
    4. Open Lightroom
It's located in same folder as your catalog, which is a file whose name ends with ".lrcat". You can get the full path (folder & filename) by rolling over the text in the title bar of the Lightroom application frame (far upper left corner).
For example if your catalog was "Z:\Catalogs\GoodCat\GoodCat.lrcat" (do NOT delete your catalog ),
then your preview cache folder would be "Z:\Catalogs\GoodCat\GoodCat Previews.lrdata" - that's the folder you'd want to delete.
Don't delete anything else, but DO delete the entire preview cache folder.
To delete a folder or file, select it with your mouse, then press the delete key.
    better?

  • I am having troubles, when I open LR I get a message that there is an error and it will try to fix the error next time it opens, but I get the error next time it opens, and this is going on and on where I can not use LR, any suggestions?

I am having troubles, when I open LR I get a message that there is an error and it will try to fix the error next time it opens. LR closes on it's own, I reopen it and get that same message next time it opens, and this is going on and on where I can not use LR, any suggestions? If I click on a different set of photos in the libary before I get that message I might or might not get the message next time it oipens, but I still can not get to those photos, and it is not just one or two but most of my photos. HELP!!!!
    Thanks
    Carol

The first thing I would suggest is for you to go to the folder containing your catalog, using your system browser. There will be a folder that has the extension .lrdata. Delete that folder, and then try to start Lightroom. If that doesn't work, replace your catalog with your most recent backup.

I have the latest downloadable version of LR5.  It crashed while it was createing 1:1 previews during an import. After a Win7(64) restart, it shows a message that LR needs to quit because it can't read the preview files and it will try to fix it the next time is launches.  I get the same message the next and every subsequent time it launches so I can't launch LR at all now.
I get that the preview file got corrupted somehow.  Is there some way to fix this problem without building a new catalog?

Use Windows Explorer to open the folder containing your catalog. You will see a folder with the extension .lrdata. You need to delete that folder and then start Lightroom again. Lightroom will generate a new previews folder.

  • I'm unable to open up Lightroom 5, I get this message in a pop up box: "Lightroom encountered an error when reading from it's preview cache and needs to quit" Underneath  that is "Lightroom will attempt to fix this problem the next time when it launches."

Thanks Shawn (Irish Se7en) .

Can you try to rename (not delete!) the folder named "YOUR_CATALOG_NAME Previews.lrdata" and restart Lightroom?

It isn't a file, it's a folder. It will have the same name as your catalog, but will have the extension data. It will be in the same folder along with your catalog. If you need to use the search feature to search for *.lrdata.

  • Lightroom encountered an error when reading from its preview cache and needs to quit.  Says Lightromm will attempt to fix the problem the next time it launches, but on every re-launch I get the same message.  Any clue as to how to fix this problem?

I recently updated my HP laptop's OS from WIndows8 to WIndows8.1.  When I went attempted to open Lightroom5 I got the following message:
"Lightroom encountered an error when reading from its preview cache and needs to quit. "
"Lightroom will attempt to fix the problem the next time it launches"
Every time I relaunch I  get the same message.  I'd like to understand what might be causing the problem so I can remedy and get back to my photo editing. Any clue as to how to fix this problem would be greatly appreciated.
