CS3 Compatibility

Does anyone know if Flash CS3, Fireworks CS3, and Dreamweaver CS3 all have compatibility with mountain lion. And if so, is there any resources I can refer to?

I think there can be some issues. Check the details of your CS3 applications at this website for compatibility with Snow Leopard.

  • CS3 Compatibility Issue

I've been working on a couple of documents in InDesign CS5 (trial version) and trying to transfer them to a version of InDesign CS3 that I use elsewhere but there are compatibility issues.  Is there some way I can save my files as an idx file because I heard that works for compatibility or is there something else I can do to make it work?
If not where can I get a trial version of InDesign CS3?
    Thanks!

The ONLY way to get from CS5 to CS3 is to export to .idml from CS5, then open that in CS4, export to .inx from CS4, and fianlly open that in CS3. If you've taken advantage of the new features in CS5 your document may be so mangled that it will be useless.

  • CS4 to CS3 compatibility?

I am considering downloading the CS4 beta but wondered
whether there are issues with backsaving to Fireworks CS3? Does
    anybody have any experience/info?
    Thanks in advance.
    Tom

    Beta is no longer available.
You can sign up for the trial notification when it becomes
    avialble here

As for compatibility, the only thing I have encountered is
the improved Text Engine. Opening pre- CS4 files in CS4 you will be
prompted/instructed to update 'type' if needed.

  • Camera Raw 6.3 and CS3 compatibility

Hello group, this is my 1st post  -
I'm one of the, perhaps few, users still running Photoshop CS3. So far it's continued to serve me well.
My question is whether Camera Raw 6.3 might be compatible with Photoshop CS3 when it is released. I've downloaded and installed it but couldn't access the RAW files from a neat little Canon S95 I recently picked up.
I'm guessing that in order to use ACR for these (and the newer camera RAW files) I'm going to need to update to CS 5. I downloaded the 6.3 DNG converter as intermediate work-around.
If ACR 6.3 will only be compatible with CS5, it seems a bit of a shame because, (in essence) a newer camera ends up costing that much more.
Thanks for any info or feedback anyone can share.
    John

That actually sounds like progress.  Don't worry, we'll get there.
In Photoshop CS, what version do you see when you choose Help - About Plug-in... and click on Camera Raw?
We're hoping to see Camera Raw 2.4.  If it is not, we may need to find the Camera Raw.8bi file that Photoshop is finding and remove it, then install this update:
    http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=2701
Almost the same exercise as before, but this time using the proper version of Camera Raw for Photoshop CS.

  • Illustrator CS3 Compatibility MAC and Windows

    Hello.
I've been asked to provide Adobe illustrator CS3 to 2 users. One is on a MAC operating OS X 10.4 and the other is on a Windows XP sp2 machine. Now the users are going to be sending files to each other but I've heard rumors that Illustrator is compatible sending files one way but not the other....can any one clarify this?
    Thanks in advanced
    Mike

Cross platform files work well from my experience. just avoid few platform specific things
    e.g
    1. use open type fonts
    2. avoid placing-linked files from network e.g. on windows placed-linked file from a UNC location like \\machine1\share will make your file useless on mac
    3. files are associated on windows through extension so if you do not have a file with extension .ai you cannot double click on it to open on windows.
    etc..

  • Flash cs5 cs3 compatibility

    hello.
i am at school that requires student to purchase the Current adobe CS suite when they enter as freshman.
we now have CS5 in our labs. Students cannot figure a way to get there CS5 files into CS3.
    is this possible?
    thanks,
    harvey

Check to see what each program has an optioon for in the save as dialgue box.
E.I. Flash CS4 can save as CS3 and CS3 can Save as CS2 and as well Illustrator can do the same same but in a borader spectrum even sa low as AI 9.
My suggestion would be to make native files of each in CS5 app and test then go back to CS 5 and try all of the save as opitons using the legacy options. I can probably say Phtooshop, and Illustrator will not be so hard but Flash, Encore, Premier, After Effects, etc., will be shoot and miss especially since you are going from CS5 all the way down to CS3.
I ebleiev Phtooshop is the only one that can do it if you sue the most campatable opitons check bix when saving a .PSD file.
Remmebr as a strudent even though you get a great deal when you buy a student version of the suite you can never upgrade those licenses. SO you arn't really getting a deal you will eventallu pay for a full suite amdprobab;y more if you keep buyion student versions.
Buy full versions and never look back. Upgrade costs for full licenses are just as much as buying a new student version every new release. I tell students all teh time by a full version and be ready once you graduate.

  • Adobe Premiere Pro CS3 compatibility with Windows 8.1

Is Premiere CS3 and Encore CS3 compatible with Windows 8.1 64 bit?

I rather doubt it.  CS3 was released back in 2007.  You might try it.

  • Macromedia Flash8 and Adobe Flash CS3 compatibility.

I have macromedia Flash8 and am trying to open and edit Adobe Flash CS3 template and getting an unexpected file format error message. Are these softwares compatible or is there anything that I can do to enable me open and edit Adobe Flash CS3 template with Macromedia Flash8. Thanks

Flash CS3 was developed after Flash 8, so like most software, older versions cannot open newer version files.  You would need to have the CS3 file saved as a Flash 8 file, which CS3 can do since it is one version ahead of Flash 8 and each version is capable of saving to the previous version.  You may lose some features if they were not supported by Flash 8.

  • Contribute CS3 compatibility with Dreamweaver MX 2004

    I haven't upgraded my Dreamweaver MX 2004 to 8 or CS3 - I
mostly handcode XHTML / CSS ... I have a client who is ideal for
Contribute for the content management needs, but I want to make
sure that I won't be forced into a manditory upgrade situation for
myself to both Dreamweaver CS3 and Contribute CS3 in order to
support them (and I've used Contribute 2 with older clients for a
    while).

Have you found an answer for this. I am in a similar
situation, in CS3 Mac. If I use www.mysite.com/www, which is the
folder for ftp purposes, I get:
Dreamweaver could not find a page at the specified site root
URL. Please check the site root URL.
If I just go to the main url, www.mysite.com, I get:
Dreamweaver could not connect to the remote server. You
cannot perform Contribute administration tasks without a connection
to a remote server. Please fix the remote connection before
    continuing.
I've tried it on another site I administer and it worked
fine, so I'm wondering if it's something to do with the
configuration of the server, but my hosts haven't got any answers
    either...
    Any pointers gratefully received.

  • Adobe CS3 Compatibility with Yosemite

I own Adobe's CS3. I run it on a 27 inch 2010 Intel IMac with OS 10.6.8. I want to upgrade to Yosemite, but I need to know that Adobe CS3 will run on Yosemite. I have been unable to get a direct answer from Adobe.

I am also running the Adobe CS3 suite & I just upgraded to Yosemite yesterday (Dec. 26, 2014) from Snow Leopard 10.6.8. So I really went for it with this upgrade, of course, taking all the necessary preparations like backups & researching potential problems.
After the upgrade I clicked to run Photoshop & was prompted for the upgrade to Java link just like Eau Rouge indicated. I downloaded it & have been able to run the CS3 programs (Dreamweaver, InDesign, Illustrator & yes even Flash) with no problems thus far.
I am really going to put Photoshop through its paces today & if any issues arise, I will repost back in this forum. But so far all is good. Hope this information helps!

  • Cs5 cs3 compatibility

    thaks,

InDesign files are not backwards compatible. In CS4 there was an option to save files in a interchange format that 3 could open, but I don't see that option in CS5. You might try saving in the IDML from the export menu, but the chances of CS 3 opening it are not good.
Dreamweaver should work as it's just html/css etc...
    Photoshop should work backwards
Finally can't speak to flash as I don't use it.
    Hope this helps some.

  • CS3 compatibility with Yosemite

Hi, I have an inherited version of CS3 on my PPC(!) iMac G5 and am planing to purchase a new intel iMac with Mavericks installed and I might upgrade to Yosemite.
The question is, will I be able to migrate my software to the new mac and will it work! Has anyone had this experience?
    Thank you.

It is working on my intel iMac with Mavericks, (at least Illustrator, Dreamweaver and InDesign are, I have not checked CS3 Photoshop because I have the CS5 version of that) but I had installed and updated all the apps back when I had older OS versions (Leopard, Snow Leopard, etc.) and when I tried to do a fresh install recently, I was able to install them but not apply the updates from Adobe. The Adobe updater will just claim that it could not make an internet connection (even though you are connected to the internet) and won't update them. If you just drag the most up-to-date versions over (or migrate them with the migration tool when you set up the new iMac) they should work and be as up-to-date as 2007 apps can be, even if that is not the ideal way to install them as opposed to a clean install.

  • CS3 compatability

    Hi
I'm new to this forum so forgive me if I'm asking an obvious question.
I've been round and round in circles on the site trying to find answers to the most basic questions with no luck.
So I hope you can help me!
I want to upgrade my old version of InDesign CS3
    1. Will Creative Cloud update InDesign CS3?
    2. If so, what are the OSX and system requirements for the new version?
    Thanks in advance
    florenzo

    1. it will be an upgrade, not an update. ie, a new program will be installed.  you can leave cs3 installed or uninstall it.
    2. System requirements | InDesign

  • CS3 compatibility with tabloid all in one printers?

I have finally found a color printer that can scan and print 11x17 color prints: Epson WF 7510. However, I am concerned about whether I will experience any problems printing from my CS3 software or Adobe Acrobat Professional 8. I was unable to find anything pertinent on the Epson website...does anyone know where I can find this info or does anyone know the answer to my question?

Yes, it is very good for speed, scanning, connectivity, ease of use and
text print quality. The only areas I need to resolve are ink saturation and
calibration. I haven't printed a lot of docs with solid backgrounds, but
the ones that have been printed tend to look a little striped and faint. If
you have the opportunity the test print such a doc before buying the
    printer, I would recommend it.
I used the printer on an iMac I bought in 2007 and on my new iMac--no
    problems interfacing with either.

  • Mac OS X Leopard/10.5 compatibility

I want to upgrade to Leopard on my desktop, but unlike CS3
compatibility paper, there seems to be no mention of Flex 2's
compatibility on Adobe's site. I know that Flex is built on
Eclipse, and Eclipse is built on Java. I know some people are
having problems with Java on 10.5. Can we get a statement from
Adobe as to what we can expect and what the compatibility of Flex
    2.0.1 Builder is on 10.5?

    Hello..
I just got a brand new mac notebook. I am trying to install sap gui on it.
I downloaded the gui software from sap site. But I am having trouble in
keying in the login info, such as, system id, no, and the ip address.
I read on this site that I need to write a configuration file. I don't know what they
    mean (I am a functional consultant   )
Could anyone post a sample of configuration file and instructions to install the gui.
I guess if I can't install sap gui on the mac, I will have to (regretully) retun it.
    Thanks in advance guys!
