CS3 Crashes Daily and 50% of the time when clicking on the Stroke window
That pretty much sums up my problem. I'm running InDesign CS3 on a G4 Mac Mini with a 1.42 GHz Processor, 1GB or Ram and OS 10.4.11. Installing the latest updates and doing re-installs isn't doing anything but create long stretches of wasted time. I really need the program to be fully functional in order to continue working. Going back to CS2 is out of the question because I work with a lot of files that are saved in CS3. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Press Shift + Ctrl + Alt + Cmd just as you launch the application. A dialog will appear asking you to delete the prefs.
Note it may we worthwhile backing them up prior to doing this, as if you have any presets or Workspaces defined these will be lost when the prefs are deleted.
Copy the Version 5 folder from users/[username]/Library/Preferences/Adobe InDesign

Hello,
I have an issue where my iMac crashes and reboots 9/10 times when I log my wife's account off. I'd like to get it resolved as it is very annoying. We switch between accounts all the time and everytime it crashes I lose a bunch of info from my account. Can anyone help me understand how to fix this issue?

When I have the downloads window open and I close the browser window, the next time I reopen the browser while the downloads are still going, it returns me to the last page I was on. All previous versions of Firefox would return me to my homepage which I would prefer. Please let me know if this is possible.
When you re-open Firefox and choose Restore Session, by default it picks up your most-recently-open window, and the other windows should then show up in Recently Closed Windows.
The Firefox add-on Session Manager lets you manage how many closed windows and closed tabs are saved, in case it's not enough. -
I noticed when I restart Firefox 4, it opens my previous tabs even I set the option "Open a blank page" and it opens blank page when I have "Show my windows and tabs from last time". Please ignore my question if you're already aware of this issue. Thanks.

my 3 year-old macbook pro is very slow. I have run disk utility and virus scan with no improvement. The "beach ball" will spin for minutes at a time when opening, closing or changing windows. Apple Store looked at it a few months ago with no help. What can I do?

Crashing apps. What do I do to fix it?
My first gen. iPad exits out of apps and safari at random times when I am trying to use them. So I basically can't do anything on it. Is there some way I can fix this?I have the same problem. Yahoo Sportacular aborts every time I try to open it. It attempts to load and then the device goes right back to the home screen. The problem started April 26 after I switched leagues from NHL to NBA. Closing all apps and Restarting doesn't solve solve the problem.
All other apps on the iPad work fine. IPad2, OS6.
Any other suggestions? I suppose I could delete the app from the iPad and try re-installing it -

How to Zoom and Pan in the program window.

I have been using scale to adjust larger than 4K image sequences so they fit 1080 and 4K output. I want to be able to zoom in and pan/tilt the program window so I can see the edges of the program window close up, so I can see to make a fine adjustment of scale. I want to be able to adjust scale precisely so I don't lose a single pixel, or include any black around the edges of the images. Of course I can't see the edges close up enough while looking at the entire image, to really see if I have scaled too much or too little. I know how to zoom in the program window, but how do I pan over to the side and bottom edges ? Without being able to pan I instantly lose the edges of the frame when I zoom in the program window.Perhaps this will help it make sense to you.
I am taking tme lapse sequences shot on a DSLR and putting them onto Blu Ray disks for viewing. I also outputted a 4K file to try to play at Best Buy on a 4K television. The images are 4928 X 3280 pixels, which is larger than 4K, and much larger than 1080. One of the advantages of using these large images directly and not reducing them in Photoshop first is that I can have a time lapse zoom, which is very difficult to achieve otherwise. I can also pan and tilt. Another advantage is not having to reduce thousands of images three times, once for 1080, once for 4K, and once for stills..
I usually work with 1080 video, and animated 1080 still sequences from Maya, or standard definition video. This is the my first opportunity to work with higher resolutions.
Generally, for my first evaluation of these DSLR stills, i wanted to show some of them fully without cutting any off. This means there is a black border onthe sides because the DSLR stills are 2:3 instead of 9:16. For this I have used a scale of 32.6% for 1080, and 66% for 4K. For some sequences i wanted to just completely fill the frame. For this I used 38.9% for 1080, and 77.9% for 4K.
My assumption is that Premier should do scaling as well as Photoshop does, and so I have let Premier do the work, saving me a lot of extra work. First i take all the original images and process them from raw to tiff, for the day exposures. Then i process them again for the night exposures. Then i bring them into either my 1080 project, or my 4K project. I put the night pictures above the day pictures on a separate video track. I use opacity to dissolve from the day to night processed images as night falls inthe scene.
Two sequences I shot are of the night sky during the recent meteor shower. After watchign the video I see i caught three instances of persistent meteor trails distorting in the sky. I was able to zoom in quite a bit, and track the position, because the sequence is of greater resolution than the native 1080 format. It gives me a second change at composition, or the ability to zoom in on something interesting that happens in the scene.
It seems to me that the only reason i would want to first process the images down to 1080 in Photoshp, would be if the quality of the scaling was higher in Photoshop.
When i adjust the scale, I am adjusting the scale of an image that is 4928 X 3280, in the program monitor which is probably only well less than 1000 pixels on my screen. It would be nice if I could not only zoom, but pan in the program window, so I could more accurately adjust scale by looking at the edges. So if there is no other way to do this visually, I am suggesting adding the ability to pan and tilt in the program monitor to accomplish this. Sure I could figure out the scale mathematically. I could still end up adding a row of black pixels, or cutting off a row of image pixels, due to some error such as rounding errors, or starting with 1 instead of zero, or vice versa. -
Pop ups on mac?
I got a mac a few months ago and a few weeks ago I began to get mackeeper ads popping up in a different screen. Now it s getting worse and happening almost every time I click on something, and there s even more variety of what websites pop up. Now I have pop ups on the actual website I m on and they pop up every time I click something. It s really obnoxious and I hate it. How can I get rid of this....? Can Bootcamp and Parallels share the same Windows applications and data?
I'm looking at getting an Intel iMac which will let me throw away my old PC - Yeah!
I will have a couple of Win apps that I will need to hang on to (Quicken - Quicken for Mac is horrible, but that's another tghread). Anyway, can Bootcamp and Parallels share the same Windows applications and data?
My thought would be to allow my wife to access Quicken from Parallels and not have to reboot. She will only need lightweight access and the overhead of running virtualization wouldn't impact her. I, on the other hand, would want to occasionally boot natively into Windows and run the same application with the same datafile. Is this possible?

Re: Quicken vs MoneyDance - I looked at MoneyDance a while back and while it is comparable to Quicken for Mac, it isn't comparable to Quicken for Windows (ergo, Quicken for Mac isn't comparable to Quicken for Windows!). But, as I said, that is a topic for another thread!
Re: Using Bootcamp/Parallels for only one app: I actually have several apps that I still need access to on Windows. I work with many business applications than only run/are supported on Windows as well as receive some complex Office documents which Office for Mac cannot handle. Quicken (for Windows 2007) was just the best example of a consumer app where I could see wanting access from both OS X and Windows. -
In my old OS I could press F11 and clear all the open windows from view to see only the desktop. How can I do that now in Mavricks?

as far as i understand you are talking about a template which you can partitioned and in one part you wants to show your graphics and in other part you wants to print your text, the border of template shall remain invisible.
If you wants to do it without using a template, you can do it as sujjested by Susmitha, but creating a template will provide you more flexibility that if you wants to change the attributes in future you can do it easily. -

For NT and 2000 it is possible to have both 8i and 10g, for XP and 2003 there's no support for 8i at all. -
FCPX. Viewing timecode and scrolling in the viewer window on a second monitor?
I am an old FCP7 user, learning FCPX. In 7, I liked being able to see timecode and scrolling in the frame of the canvas window. I would move and enlarge the canvas to fill a second monitor. I could still see the timecode and be able to scroll without having to go back and forth with the timeline on the first monitor.
I don't like that in X, the timeline is the only place that shows timecode and scrolling. So that when my viewer is in a second monitor, I have to go back and forth with the first monitor to view timecode and scroll. I put my script (word doc) on my first monitor which covers the FCP timeline. And makes it very cumbersome to view the script, view the movie in a large format and scroll/ get my orientation in the movie I am editing.
In FCPX, is it possible to view timecode and scrolling in the viewer window on a second monitor?I don't use dual monitors, so this may not help, but my 1st thought is device driver version
