CS3 Crashes on "Save As" in Windows XP

Anyone come accross this and have a solution. I can't use the "Save As" command as CS3 crashes as soon as I try to alter the save destination.
Thanks

That is most likely unrelated to PS itself. More of an issue with your user permissions that do not allow you to peek outside the default user directory. Check your user status and promote yourself to Power User at least (XP Professional). Assuming you are on XP Home, simply create a new user account. It's easier than trying to clean up the tainted old account. Use the migration tool in yourt Accessories program group to transfer settings...

Adobe Bridge CS3 crashes on load in my Windows 7 workstation.
I recently completely removed, deactivated and reinstalled all my Adobe Creative Suite CS3 Master Collection to solve some problems with other application from the suite and now I'm surprise Bridge continues to fail. In my portable workstation the same software (Bridge) uses to work.
I tried launching Bridge under several compatibility modes. All failed.
Is there any know bug I should be aware of? Any fix?
    Is this a common problem?

Curt Y. Thank you for your answer.
It was only Bridge who was crashing. It failed to load and Windows was giving an error message.
I tried your suggestion, and resetting all options in the reset window it now loads. It was as simple as that.

  • Photoshop CS3 crashes on "save as" command

    Hi all,
I'm running Photoshop CS 3 edition on Leopard. Photoshop crashes every time I try to "save as". Has anyone else experienced this issue? I have 2 gigs of ram on a new iMac.
    Thanks,
    John

I too am having the same issue with Photoshop CS3 crashing everytime I SAVE or SAVE AS, and when I choose File>open while the programs is running.
    I am running
    Mac OS X 10.4.11
Mac Book Pro 2.33 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
    2GB RAM
I had been running the program successfully for over six months until a couple days ago.
I have verified/repaired permissions, reinstalled the entire Creative Suite, trashed preferences and reduced memory usage all with no luck.

  • Encore CS3 crashes when building to Flash (Windows)

I've built a project that has no problem burning a DVD or rendering an ISO image. However, when I try to author a Flash version of the project, it spends hours transcoding, then Encore CS3 crashes. (Generic Windows "Encore CS3 has encountered a problem and needs to close" error.) The only issue that shows up when checking the project is an orphan timeline, but it is linked into the project through playlists.
Any suggestions on how to create a flash version successfully?
    Specs:
    AMD Dual Core 4800+ (2.51Ghz)
    2 Gigs memory
    Windows XP SP3

I'm also having issues with Encore crashing all of the time. Whenever I try to build a flash file it crashes near the end. I have a few large videos in there and can build a flash file without the videos in, but why does it keep crashing when the videos are in.... I thought this is what this software is designed for!
Has anyone had any luck getting around their crashes?
To reduce the size of the videos what setting do you suggest changing?
Thanks and good luck to everyone else using Encore!
    Matt.

  • CS3 Crashing on save

Just a bug I need to iron out. Every time I am saving larger files in Illustrator CS3, the file saves, but Illustrator times out (beach balls for ever) I need to force quit. Ocassionaly illustrator has completely quit when I have saved Large (press ready) PDF files. I am running a MAC Dual PowerPC G5 w 2GB RAM, have minimal fonts open, have minimal programs open. This problem has only started happening since the recent upgrade version (CS3). CS2 works fine with the same files.
    Any suggestions??
    Cheers in advance.

  • CS3 crashes on save in Windows 7

Illustrator CS3 was working fine for about 2 weeks on Windows 7 and then randomly started crashing when I would try to save. I installed the latest update and it started working again for about 2 days, but has started crashing again, but only when I try to save (normal, save-as, using shortcuts or menus). I reboot, hard shutdown, etc to no avail. Any ideas/ solutions?
    Thanks,
    Spencer

One of these three may help, Spencer:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2000007
Move the folder (deleting was not enough)
Change your default printer to a local printer or to Acrobat (Distiller)
Each of them has solved seemingly identical issues with CS3/CS4 in the past.

  • Photoshop CS3 crashing on Save in Mac OS X

just wondering if anyone else has encountered the following. My non Intel Mac G5 tower (running OS X 10.4.11) will crash every time I have begun a Save in Photoshop and then type a keyboard shortcut for any other function (eg. resize window) while the save is in progress.
Force quitting simply doesn't work and I am indeed forced to shut down the computer manually with the tower's power button and then reboot.
This never happened before to me with any other versions of Photoshop or OS and does not do this on my Mac Intel laptop.
Again, has anyone else encountered this and/or come up with a fix (besides consciously sitting on ones hands until the Save operation is completed)?

I am getting a crash every time I try and save a file in Photoshop CS3 in 10.5.1 on a Dual 2.7 G5 with 5.5 GB of RAM. On smaller files I can do a save for web and that works fine, but every time I try and do a save Photoshop instantly crashes.
I have my latest crash report.

  • Illustrator (CS3) crashes on save

My marketing guy called me this morning to request my help in diagnosing a problem with his Illustrator. He says he can do his work and get all the way through till he's done with whatever he's working on, and then when he goes to save it, he tells it where he wants it saved (local HDD) and then hits "save." After that, Illustrator acts like it's saving to a temp file, and crashes. This is on a Dell Precision workstation running Windows XP Pro SP3, 32-bit.
I understand from a little bit of research that CS likes to have a dedicated "temporary" partition. We do not have that set up at this time. We did make sure that the progam was fully updated by running the updater. Unfortunately there were no updates available. Any idea what might be causing this? He did say he'd been having some issues with his primary (network) printer earlier, but I printed off a test page this morning with  no problems.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks!

I understand from a little bit of research that CS likes to have a dedicated "temporary" partition.
It doesn't. AI always uses the system temp folder and that's what FUBARd here. Read this (disk health). Applies even to non-installer stuff.

  • Flash CS3 Crashes on Save --- PLS HELP

    Hi all,
My first post. I have installed cs3 web design premium on
Vista Ultimate and have had no problem working all the cs3
programs. In flash I try and save my work but it crashes the
system. Could someone tell me where I might want to look for an
answer. Tried everywhere online but can't find something. This is
killing me as I need this working for my job. Thanks a lot.
    Matt.

    In other news, all other Adobe products I use work just fine;
but that's only Dreamweaver, Fireworks, Photoshop and Illustrator.
It just seems to be Flash that is having problems. Does anyone know
of any other programs that work like Flash and do pretty much the
same thing? Make the same kind of files that Flash can open/edit?
Has anyone else had the same issue I'm having? (In the first
    post.)

Soliciting some net wisdom on this one.
Went mad an got myself a H2D-39. Am now experiencing intermittent crashes when saving files from Photoshop.
I import the H2D files as DNG using the latest version of FlexColor 4.8.6, then select image in Bridge, do raw conversion in Bridge and send to PS for final edit. When I try to save the file (Save As), PS crashes roughly every second time before the File menu opens, crash info:

    Thanks, Håkan

I think my problem may be solved. Yesterday I installed the latest driver for my elderly Epson 3200 scanner, and now PS seems to be working again. I just read another thread about PS3 crashes where Chris Cox said "(buggy drivers are why we no longer install the TWAIN plugin by default -- too many bad drivers, and no way for Photoshop to know until they crash)".
Replacing the TWAIN that came with the old scanner driver which may have not been compatible with Leopard may have been the solution...at least I hope so.

  • InDesign CS3 Crashes on Save (PC)

The other day i tried to save a file in Photoshop CS3 and suddenly on clicking save the program froze. Thru the forums i learned i could resolve this issue by turning off CUE, this fixed the problem but the next day i experienced the same problem with InDesign CS3. Soon as i try to save it freezes. Yes i can hit escape and unlock it but it still happens everytime i try to save a file. I've tried everything, googled everywhere and find no solution. Is there anyone out there that can help me with this problem?
Specs: PC, DualCore 2.5, 4gigs Ram, 1.5 TB drive space.
    Thanks!

Bob, i want to thank you so much. My InDesign at this time is so important to me as Monday I have a deadline. You fixed this problem for me. I hope this topic helps others as much as it helped me.

  • Indesign CS3 crashes on "save" or "save as"

I have reinstalled. I have reset preferences. I have shut down, restarted, everything. Illustrator and Photoshop are doing the same thing. I am on a Mac, 10.6.4. Installed Adobe's latest updates last night and started having this problem this morning.

I had this same problem happen to me with Illustrator CS3 on a PC. Reinstalled my OS and the problem was resolved.

  • Flash CS3 Crashes after save

Flash works fine, and I can test any video/project, as long
as it is not saved. When I save it, or open a saved one, it acts
normal, until I try to do anything with publishing it, including
testing (ctrl-enter) I've tried uninstalling it, cleaning the reg,
and reinstalling it, but nothing seems to work.
EDIT: Moved the directory of saved files to the root of my C
    drive. It works now.

    I'm getting this also.
