CS3 dds drivers and Windows 7 64bit issue

I have photoshop CS3 working however I can't load the dds drivers. I've tried everything see below. Anyone been able to load the Nvidia dds drivers?
What is the proper proceedure to effectively install the DDS files in CS3 in a windows 7 64 bit environment?
I tried the 32 bit and 64 bit files and when I use the 32 bit file i get an error opening up photoshop that says missing D3x9_43.dll, and I don't have the option to save in a .dds format. If I uninstall the dds 32 bit program the missing D3x9_43.dll error goes away.
When I load 64 bit version no errors but I still don't have the option to save in .dds format. Kind of frustrating..................
I've just uninstalled and cleaned CS3. I've done a new fresh load of CS3. What are the correct steps from here?
Which file should I download? etc.
Thank you in advance.
Ok, I've tried everything I can find.
I let the 32 bit dds program load to a seperate folder and manually transfered the files to the proper folders in Photoshop and still get the same results as above. I tried renaming them and removing the 32 extensions and still no go. I did the same thing with the 64 bit program and still no go.
The 32 bit program said it was still looking for the D3X9_43.dll file for some reason. I haven't tried downloading that file since I don't know where to put it.
Can someone please help me. Has anyone got the DDS files to work with CS3 and Windows 7?
Thank you
Bill

Got it fixed. I loaded the drivers from my old XP machine. drivers are from 2007. Don't remember where I got them from but they worked.  I can save dds files again.
Thank you for the reply.

  • Huey Pro and Windows 7 64bit Issues

Hi there, having problems I am afraid. If I calibrate my two monitors with the Huey pro all works fine except when I run LR 3.0. None of the thumbnails or pictures display at all. They are there as I can see the histogram for each one. Delete the huey profiles and pictures appear again, but unfortunately I loose my calibrations. Running the latest Huey software and windows 7 has all the updates. Any suggestions, and many thanks for looking? Chris

Are you creating V4 profiles? If so create V2 profiles. I beleve LR is one of those programs that doesn't like V4.
I also just found this on the X-rite website.
The huey display calibrator is not designed to calibrate multiple monitors attached to the same computer. If you have dual monitors and your video card supports multiple monitor calibrations, you should check out the higher-end display calibrators such as the i1 Display 2 or i1 Display LT.
If you have two monitors connected to your computer, huey calibrates the monitor that has been designated as the primary monitor. (The primary monitor is the one with the task bar. Monitor designation is done in the Mac System Preferences > Displays > Arrangement or Windows Control Panel > Displays > Settings.)
You may be able to calibrate both monitors if you first designate one as the primary, calibrate it, then designate the second as the primary, and calibrate that. However, this is not a supported feature and may not work with all video cards and monitors. The software for i1 Display, on the other hand, lets you move the display calibration interface to whichever monitor you want to calibrate.

  • Microphone , Audigy Se and Windows 7 64bit

*Microphone , Audigy Se and Windows 7 64bit's I have wasted several hours today trying to resolve this issue upto and including trawling the internet for a solution and completely removing and reinstalling drivers from disc and updating twice. Ultimately I downloaded an update from WIndows - Absolutely nothing, nada works!
I have the Mic Jack for my headphones plugged into the blue line in port - tried and tested on my system card (which works) but I consistently get Line--in Currently Unavailablke for this port suggesting that Creative are totally out to lunch on this one.
I have right-clicked and set levels, tried setting it as default, etc, etc, etc... nothing.
Has anyone succesfully got their mic to work uunder Win 7 64bit's
    - Love how it says on the box that Vista nad WIn 7 are supported,,,? guess the partially bit was omitted!
I loathe wondows on any given day of the week but my Mac is currently down so I have no choice but to use this, my wifes machine... NOthiong but lost time whereas if I were on the mac I would be using that time producti'vely, with working software too I might add!
Hope someone has a fix for this because this machine is just one reboot away from going out the frogging window!!!

    'sHi,
Are you using this driver? Are you getting no sound from your microphone or is nothing being recorded?
Please go to Control Panel, Sound make sure that the Microphone option is set as default and that the mic levels are adjusted accordingly, not mute.

  • Solution Center problem with HP Office Jet J4550 and windows 7 (64bit)

    Hello All,
I have a problem. I have the Solution Center and a HP Office Jet J4550 and windows 7 (64bit). When ever I open the solution center, the solution center says " HP office jet J4550 series disconnected" When I open HP document manager, I can access the printer.  Additionally, when I run the HP Print Diagnostic Utility 4.0, it sees the printer, no issues. I can print test pages. No issues. I downloaded the latest driver from the HP site (OJJ4500_Full_13, 299,359KB) Your insight is appreciated.
    Thank you
    Roy B

I have a similar problem with the J4580 and my new Windows 7 64-bit laptop.  HP Solution Center says that the printer is disconnected.  Furthermore, it can print some documents (short ones), but it was unable to print a 1-page 5MB pdf file.  The printer truncated the page after printing just the top 10%.   The printer is OK with my wife's Windows 7 32-bit laptop.
I've seen many other people complain about similar problems in this and other forums.  Apparently the driver for J4500 printers is not compatible with Windows 7 64-bit.  Can HP please provide an updated driver or patch?

  • Install only 32bit version of AX Flash Player for IE8 and Windows 7 64bit

    Hi,
For several reasons I would like to install only the 32bit version of Flash Player AX for IE 8 and Windows 7 64bit.
It was possible to do it when the installers where separated but I see no information how to do that now.
It is very convenient for me to have my 64 bit IE 8 browser without Flash that I use to browse and not get annoyed by the flash on the web and use the 32bit IE 8 on youtube, vimeo, etc when flash is necessary.
I hope the option to choose which version to install will get back if it is not possible now.
Please let me know if such kind of request should be made somewhere else as new feature or whatever.
    Thank you.

That was the first thing I tried. It either works on both or disables on both versions. Something is messed with the settings as well, or has been made that way on purpose. Also the next thing I tried was to uninstall only the part residing in System 32 (leaving the one in SysWOW64) but the result was both not working after the uninstall. It remained in Programs but wasn't working anymore in both versions of IE 8. So I just put back the latest 32bit version which is not security wise..

  • 5640 drivers and Windows 8.1 ... some hardware issues

have the latest bootcamp drivers installed on my mbp in windows 8.1.
When i put the computer to sleep, then wake ... wifi will not reconnect.
Normally, on the wireless connections pane, directly above the list of wifi connections, the toggle switch says "WIFI". But after waking up from sleep, the toggle switch says "WIFI 2" ... in either instance, the toggle switch is set to on.
anyone know if this is a bug with the bootcamp drivers, windows or something else ? right now I have to pretty much restart to get wifi connected and working in windows.
the second issue I noticed: my keyboard backlighting doesn't come on instantly when the welcome screen comes up. in fact, it doesn't illuminate until i start toggling the dedicated illumination keys. strange behavior.
i've tried reinstalling the driver package from the 5640 zip, still experiencing these problems.
anyone have any info on what these issues might be caused by or anyone experiencing them as well ?

I have also been having this issue on my newly bought Late 2013 Retina MacBook Pro (rMBP), running Windows 8.1 Pro (using native EFI) with Boot Camp's latest drivers (version 5.1.5640). After waking up from sleep, the "Broadcom 802.11ac Network Adapter" becomes the "Broadcom 802.11ac Network Adapter #2" and subsequently "Wi-Fi" becomes "Wi-Fi 2," requiring me to reconnect to all of my networks since Windows seems to tie saved wireless networks to the driver.
Here is what I've found so far (note that when I say "Wi-Fi 2," I mean the driver is using the Network Adapter #2 instead of the original, numberless one):
This only happens to Windows--the Mac side is fine.
This only happens when Windows is put to sleep; hibernation and Fast Boot shutdown do not change the driver. I'm actually using hibernation right now as an alternative to sleep mode because it works fine.
Sleeping a second time within the same Windows session keeps "Wi-Fi 2" as "Wi-Fi 2."
I need to restart to get the original driver to work again. Shutting down *may* work, though, but since hibernation keeps "Wi-Fi 2" as "Wi-Fi 2" and doesn't change the driver back, I doubt it. Maybe non-Fast Boot shutdown would also fix it, but restart works well enough.
Essentially, sleep mode is unusable in Windows, since this network shuffle makes it so all networks need to be re-added.
Now, I have also noticed that booting into Windows with the Thunderbolt to Gigabit Ethernet adapter causes the Network Adapter to become "Broadcom 802.11ac Network Adapter #3" (and thus creating a "Wi-Fi 3" entry on the connection manager). I'm assuming that the Ethernet Adapter would also cause the Network Adapter #2 to appear if it were uninstalled previously.
AND, in the Windows Event Viewer, I see this, and I wonder if it is related to the above because the Wi-Fi adapter uses the PCI-express bus on the Late 2013 rMBP:
"The system firmware has changed the processor's memory type range registers (MTRRs) across a sleep state transition (S4). This can result in reduced resume performance."
What the heck is going on here??
I have tried messing around with the Device Manager's various Power Management tabs, as well as the Link State Power Management stuff in the Windows Control Panel. Nothing worked, and I have since set everything back to normal and changed every "Sleep" option I could find to "Hibernate." This isn't an ideal workaround due to the writes this makes to the SSD, so if anyone has a fix or can help figure this out that would be most appreciated!

  • Nvidia 64bit drivers and Windows XP64Bit

Lo ppl , im a newbie here.
    Here we go :
Fresh install of Windows XP64 on my new Seagate Baracuda ,
Pressed F6 durring installation for Sata/Raid drivers  - windows reported corrupt files.
Windows then carried on installing fine, rebooted and system loaded fine.
K - time for NVIDIA drivers (latest 64bit drivers from nvidia)
Installed system drivers first including IDE drivers. - Reboot
System loads till Windows XP64 screen, scrolly finishes, and then screen goes blank and h/drive light flashes but system does'nt finalize boot.
Tried Roll back on all Nvidia drivers - no help
    2) - Reformat h/drive and whole proccess again. except instead of installing all Nvidia drivers, I just tried the Network drivers - same problem as b'fore
    Rollback also failed
    3) Reformat h/drive and whole proccess again. except instead of installing nvidia system files I installed nvidia display drivers for my Geforce. Same problem windows failed to post. And rollback also fails to repair problem.
tried system recover and that also did'nt work
    I'm   as hell.
    Any help plz

Sorted my problem out -  After reading 3hours of posts on this forum I came to the conclusion that keyboards and psu's are real NB on this mobo.
My 300W psu could this be the problem I asked myself
Well went out and got a 500W KME Gold unit not the best but not the worst
Reformated my HD and did win64 reinstallation
    Installed new PSU unit
Booted up win64 and installed NVIDIA 64Bit driver manually from Device Driver Menu
Rebooted and wolla   all works fine.
So I'm not 100% sure it was the PSU unit, I might temp a reformat again to verify if it was psu or way I installed drivers.
    Now next ?
Why does'nt any of the utils on MSI setup cd run on win64 or are there 64bit versions available , or alternative progs that I can use on win64 ?

  • W700/W700ds and Windows 7 64bits drivers???

    Hi everyone
I ordered a W700, and I am running Windows 7 Ultimate RTM (64 bits) for weeks. Now that it's finally "official", it says on almost every page for 64bit drivers, and also for TVT (ThinkVantage Technologies) software that The W700/W700ds 64bits edition only supports Windows 7 Professional.
What is going on? I'm running W7 Ultimate (64 bit) and don't know what to do. I guess I cannot upgrade yet?

have you tried downloading and installing the updated drivers and apps?   if so, did they give you a warning or did they install without any complaints?

  • Envy dv7-7212nr and Windows 7 64Bit

Just finished downgrading Envy dv7-7212nr from Windows 8 to Windows 7 Ultimate 64Bit.  Below is the list of drivers and software paks needed to get everything working.
Hope this helps any of you having issues with wireless or fingerprint drivers.  All function buttons and on/off buttons working as they should.  You may need additional software if you changed your boot drive to SSD or if you change the wirless card as I did.  Currently running an Intel SSD and Intel 7260 dual band wireless card.
Caveat:  I have tried every combination of BIOS setting and boot possibilities to try to get Win7 to install in UEFI mode with no luck.  Tried Microsofts boot procedure, rufus installer, installing from DVD, installing from USB.  No luck.  It gets through the boot and at the Windows opening screen with the floating squares merging together, it hangs.  That's as far as it gets.  Only success has been installing in Legacy mode.  If anyone has a solution to this... I would be happy to listen.
Like I said... running fine in Legacy mode.
All of these upgrades were run AFTER all updates from Microsoft Windows Update were installed.  You can then look for updates from this point on after doing the below installs.
All done with a clean install on a bare SSD using the Win7 iso files available from Microsoft web site.
Anyway... the drivers and sofpac installers below all work:
Intel Driver Update Utility Installer - avail at Intel site
Intel USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller 1.0.101.255- avail at Intel site
    sp64959 - Intel chipset driver

    sp67075 - Validity FingerPrint Driver
sp61399 - SimplePass Fingerprint Security Software
Hope this is a help to some of you.  Machine runs great in Legacy mode with Win7 and these installs.
Again... if anyone has success in installing and setting up in UEFI mode - I sure would appreciate some detailed step by step instructions.
    Thanks again!

  • N95 8GB and Windows 7 Connection Issue

I'm trying to connect my Nokia N95 8Gb to Ovi Suite but continually receive errors upon driver installation. This is no doubt to related to the fact I'm using Windows 7 64-bit. Back on my old box running XP; no problems whatsover.
I swear I must have tried almost every possible fix under the sun; those that I could think of and those that I googled. Tried PC Suite and Ovi Suite. Different drivers, versions, windows settings.. With each failed attempt reverted again (via Total Uninstall).
The latest version of Ovi Suite (3.1.1.85) has not helped either.
It appears to be the same two drivers Windows has trouble installing; and if not both, then almost certainly the "LCIF" driver.
This problem may or may not have been encountered/solved; please point me in the right direction if it has been fixed, as I could not find it. Any help appreciated!
Screenshots (the first is from a different installation):

If the issue not being connected for being in a 64bit os, then there is a work around if your windows 7 version is windows 7 prof, or utimate. You can download XP Mode, in which windows XP is running  virtual in Windows 7. I tried it with legacy in-house created applications for XP & it works, even all the drivers.
Knowledge not shared is knowledge wasted!
If you find it helpfull, it's not hard to click the STAR..

  • My solution for No Audio -- Conexant drivers and Windows 7 x64

My son and I have the L2000 laptop that came with 32 bit XP and used the Conexant chipset for Audio. I had been using an SB Audigy PCMCIA card so I am not sure when Audio was really lost; however, he noticed it when I upgraded his PC. I scoured various forums looking for 64 bit  Windows 7 drivers for Conexant audio but to no avail. Microsoft and Conexant both said that HP should supply the drivers. By the way HP, the Conexant website says that they do not supply drivers even though they make the chipsets "at the request of the OEM's." Another post said that HP was not going to supply these drivers for Windows 7. The solution from HP for my model and Windows 7 was the "HP Software Advisor" which was 67MB and totaly useless. It appears that this is a very common problem. Anyway, here is what you do:
First you need 2 files which ironically enough come from HP, they are SP35558.exe and SP35558.cva They contain the Conexant drivers for Vista x64. (I subsequently have found the 32 bit drivers and the procedure should be very similar except the files are SP34789.exe and SP34789.cva). Type the following into your browser address bar ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/ About half way down you will find the sub-directory with these files. Just right click each one and save to your desktop.
Double click SP35558.cva and tell Windows to use Notepad to open it. Scroll about half way down to "[Operating Systems]" and after "WV64UL=OEM" insert:
    W764HB=OEM
    W764HP=OEM
    W764PR=OEM
    W764UL=OEM
( For 32 bit systems use W732HB=OEM, etc.)
I next went up about 10 lines to "[System information]" and added
    SysId3=0x3091
    SysName3=HP Pavilion ze2000 series

I got this information from another cva file on my PC at C;/swsetup/ This is the directory where HP updates default to.
After modding the cva file, I saved it to C;/swsetup/sp35558/
I then executed the SP35558.exe file. It did not work the first time -- I missed a line in my cva file. However, I then manually installed the Conexant drivers as follows and voila I had sound, nice crisp clear sound.
Under Device Manager, right click "Multimedia Audio Device" under "Other" and choose "Update Driver" Then" Browse your PC" and "Choose from a list". Select "Sound, audio and game controllers", then Conexant, then "Have Disk" . Browse to C:/swsetup/sp35558/ and open "cp6308Ba.inf" (64bit remember). Now choose "OK" and ignore any warnings about incompatibility, WHQL, etc. Give it plenty of time, you might think you are in a loop, but you are not. Congratulations, you are done.
    This question was solved.

I thought that I would recompile my answer and then mark this thread as solved since it was not a post about a problem but rather how I solved a very common problem that might be of benefit to others.

The use of the cva file is to streamline the driver install and it is kind of cool if it works. If you cannot find it or you are not successful the first time or you do not want to bother with modding anything, do not worry, the manual install will work for sure.
Run sp35558.exe to extract everything and let it strike out. Then go to Device Manager and update the driver manually as follows:
Under Device Manager, right click "Multimedia Audio Device" under "Other" and choose "Update Driver" Then "Browse your PC" and "Choose from a list". Select "Sound, audio and game controllers", then "Conexant", then "Have Disk". Browse to C:/swsetup/sp35558/ and open "cp6308Ba.inf" (64bit remember). • Error when syncing with iTunes and Windows 7 64Bit(AMD)

    I keep getting this error:
Attempting to copy to the disk " Your Name Here's IPhone" failed. The Device timed out...
It works fine on my Netbook ( Wind 7 32 Bit)
I am sure someone has this issue...
I tried running in XP mode, Shut off my Pass lock, Uninstall and reinstall Drivers, Using USB2.0...
Any thoughts on this ( and I do not want to hear Use your netbook) LOL
    Thanks
    mike

There are known issue with 64bit Win 7 and syncing...the best fix is to update the BIOS of the machine you're on and that helped most issues...highest issue reported was for people using a Gigabyte Motherboard and Win 7...
That's why it works on 32bit Win 7...something in the MB that communicates with synced devices doesn't like iPhone and the BIOS update is needed to address this until Microsoft releases a cover all fix.

In Windows 7 Prof 64 bit I got my HP 4200DTN to work kind of. In Windows install a network printer, have it look for the driver in Windows 7 prof 64 bit. Now with that said it will make it print, duplex  BUT if you have an envelope feeder like I do you are SOL, THANKS TO HP. Their solutions is to buy one of their cheap Chinese printers. I will not do that because the HP 4200DTN will print and does a good job in my network. Before I buy one of their cheap Chinese piece of crap I will get rid of Windows. Still trying to find a work around. The HP printer driver web page has a Universal Printer Driver for the HP 4200 but a lot of features are not supported. Tray 1 envelope feeder ( no support ) you can take the feeder off and feed tray 1 by hand to print envelopes HANDY!!! Just like starting your car with a crank!!! Would not hurt HP to provide drivers for the HP4200DTN, with the envelope feeder. They are so busy trying to SELL, SELL, SELL the new Chinese cheap crap. HP had a problem with their DeskJets in the 90's, paper feed rollers and gears broke. They talked me into a HP 8600Pro Premium, going to send it back. I am going to try my hand at fixing my HP OfficeJet 7310 All-In-One that quit working. It has been a good printer since purchase 6 years ago.  I puchased a parts machine today. With any kind of luck I will have the needed parts to make my HP 7310 live. Don't need their cheap Chinese Junk. They don't want to have the service they used to provide. Spend all day on the phone and get transfered all over the world and back again, no help. Sick of it!
