CS3 Design Premium 3.3 upgrade

Did anyone notice Adobe now offers Fireworks CS3 in the CS3 Design Premium 3.3 upgrade (in addition to Acrobat 9)? That's very cool (though it should have been included in the suite to begin with IMHO)!
thanks Adobe!
We have to wait until June 24 to get it (download or CD). I can wait for Acrobat, but I'd like to start using Fireworks CS3 now.
I have an expired Fireworks CS3 install on my MacBook Pro and was hoping, since I just purchased it, I could use my existing CS3 serial number to activate it. No dice.
It looks like I'll have to wait for an updated serial number when the upgrade becomes available.
Any thoughts anyone?

No I didn't notice, thanks for mentioning it!
What I did notice is that the Web Edition of CS3 is no longer visible; did that get phased out? And can I still use my CS3 Web Edition to upgrade to the newer CS3 that includes Acrobat 9?
The main reason I went with the Web Edition was due to the inclusion of Fireworks, which I also think should have been with the Design..... especially if Adobe was planning to phase out the web suite.

  • Upgrading to CS5 Master Collection with CS3 Design Premium Suite

I just bought CS5 Creative Suite Master Collection on Tigerdirect.com. I noticed there wasn't any details about what version of software you can upgrade from (such as Master Collection or Design Premium etc)  I currently have CS3 Design Premium Software (an upgraded version from CS1 or whatever).  Will I be able to upgrade to the CS5 Creative Suite Master Collection by using my CS3 Design Premium serial number?

Only if you bought the right upgrade. Here's the correct item on Amazon: http://amzn.to/b4XQJ3
Note the list price is $1,299. Amazon has it for about $1,239. If you paid significantly less than that you bought the wrong one.

  • Adobe Creative Suite CS3 Design Premium Student Upgrade?

I bought a student edition of CS3 Design Premium.
After purchasing it I found that I only use the Photoshop part of the Suite.
Am I able to upgrade the Photoshop portion, upgrade the complete Suite or do I have to purchase a new student copy of  CS5 Photoshop.
    Thanks in advance.

Bob -- I appreciate your bad news
Looks like I'll qualify for a teachers copy of CS5 -- I guess I'll pick one of those up.
I had a quick glance at your article & am sure that both I & my children (students) will find it of use.
Best to you & thanks again.

Subject: Adobe Creative Suite CS3 Design Premium Student Upgrade?
First things first...there are no student upgrades. If you're still eligible you can buy the software at student prices.
In the case of actual upgrades, no, you can't upgrade an individual sutie component.
I have an article on my web site that might be of interest to you: http://www.theindesignguy.com/purchase-advice.shtml

  • Upgrading to CS5 Design Premium on iMac, can I still run CS3 Design Premium on MacG5 ?

I have CS3 Design Premium on my G5 mac. I just bought an iMac and want to install CS5 Design Premium Upgrade in the iMac. After I install the CS5 Design Premium Upgrade, will I still be able to run the CS3 Design Premium on my G5? They are on the same network. These are the only two Mac's I own now. Thanks in advance.

Yes, but the upgrade is tied to the original version so they should be on the same machine (which in this case isn't really possible without removing it from one and installing it on the other).
As I said, as long you only use one machine at a time, I think you can sleep at night knowing that you're within the spirit of EULA.

  • Upgrading from CS3 Design Premium to Illustrator CS6 standalone

    Greetings,
I have Adobe CS3 Design Premium (I think-- it's one of the complete suites that includes Illustrator CS3). My license is an Education license. I also own Photoshop CS6 (standalone) with an Education license.
I'm wondering if i can purchase an upgrade to the standalone (not Creative Cloud) version of Illustrator CS6, at the Education price? If so what would the price be and how would I purchase it?
    Thanks.

    NorthOEK,
I am afraid the educational license of any kind is (still) outside any upgrade system.
You may try your luck on the download pages, or ask somewhere over there:

  • CS3 Design Premium upgrade. Won't install DW... ???

I had CS2 installed on my MacBook... I purchased CS3 Design Premium upgrade, and tried to install. I had DLd the Dreamweaver CS3 demo awhile ago, and deleted it after the trial was over. Now, when installing CS3, the installer says Dreamweaver is already installed? And won't let me install! DW is not installed, and I've tried deleting every file I could find that mentions DW but no luck. Anyone have any ideas??? Thanks!

Activation is a process that Adobe has created to allow its programs to
continue to operate after installation. It is supposed to protect them
from piracy. You can install most Adobe programs on multiple computers,
but have them activated on at most two at a time. It is recommended to
deactivate the programs before messing with the clean script so that you
do no use up your activations unnecessarily.
You can find the Clean script here:

  • Is it possible/legal to sell CS3 Design Premium after having uninstalled it and upgraded to CS4?

    Hi,
I have a copy of CS3 Design Premium which belongs to my company. The software was installed and used for a few years, then uninstalled and the code was used to purchase an upgrade to CS4. Is it legal to sell this software? Would a buyer be able to install the software using the serial code?
    Thanks,
    Dave.

No, it's not possible without using hacks. And Adobe can't support or endorse hacks
Bear in mind that not only there are new features in a new version which can't possibly be recreated by an older version - also, there are enhancements to existing features, which would make them render differently in the two versions.
That said, there are people posting such hacks, as Sébastien pointed out.

  • Upgrade cs3 design premium to cs 5.5 web premium

Can I upgrade cs3 design premium to cs 5.5 web premium and will I lose the functionality of the Indesign CS3 that I have now?

I believe it will but you must find the right upgrade and finding a CS5.5 upgrade is not going to be easy. Why not just get the CS6 Web and Design Premium package (that eligibility ends soon) or better yet, take advantage of the intro pricing for Creative Cloud. At $29.99/month it’s a bargain: http://www.adobe.com/products/creativecloud.html

  • I want to upgrade from cs3 design premium to cs6....how do i do that?

I want to upgrade from cs3 design premium to cs6....how do i do that?

You cannot. There is no upgrade path from CS3 to CS6 any more. That window closed a couple of years ago.
    Your options now:
Buy a full new version of CS6, or
    Join the Cloud

  • Can I upgrade from CS3 Design Premium to CS6 Design Standard?

I'm looking to upgrade my CS3 (and may need to as I'm upgrading my Mac OS X and not sure about compatibilty)... of course I know I can upgrade like for like, i.e. go from CS3 Design Premium to CS6 Design and Web Premium but I don't really need Dreamweaver and Flash so just wondering if I can upgrade to CS6 Design Standard?
Also, as I'm still relatively new to this arena and have never upgraded before... how does it work? Do I need to keep my CS3 software (i.e. disks) as well as the new software/disks? i.e. if for whatever reason I may need to re-install down the line...or can I get rid of the CS3 once I get the CS6?
    Thanks in advance.

Yes, you can do that. But you only have a few more weeks. You may want to look into Creative Cloud instead. You'll need the CS3 serial number to upgrade to CS6 but the CS3 apps do not necessarily need to be installed.

  • Question about purchasing Adobe CS3 Design Premium as a university student...?

Do you think Adobe CS3 Design Premium $450.00 is a good deal if I can't get a pirated version from anyone else?
Should I feel guilty for spending that money (it's for university, a graphic design program) or should I be content that I'm being a good citizen?
According to Apple's site, it's about $2500 retail price, $750 with the educational price, and $450 if you buy it with a Mac and the educational price...
I was just feeling a little dumb when other kids were saying that they have pirated software and think it's silly to buy it. But then again, I don't really have anyone to get it off of anyway..
And I know that that industry is always changing, always comming up with new and advanced software. So if I buy CS3, and they come up with a CS4, and CS5, which I no doubt they will, do I have to pay the same amount for those as for the CS3? Is there anyway I can update/upgrade it for cheaper? I saw that they have an upgrade price on the products page, I was just wondering what the process/steps to do so are? Thanks!

If you have a legitimate, purchased copy it has always been the case
in the past that you can purchase upgrades to the next version for a
    reduced price.
The question of pirated software is not just a legal one but a moral
one. Here is one perspective to consider (since you're obviously not 100% comfortable with the "it suits me better to pay nothing so I'll steal it" philosophy that some of your peers espouse). Perhaps you are thinking of a career in graphic design? Well, how would you feel if something you'd worked on for a year was taken by big companies without paying you a cent, used to sell expensive products, for book covers, for fancy web sites and TV adverts?
If this makes you uncomfortable, consider that the only thing that
stops this from happening is the copyright laws. If you want to be
protected by them, it seems possible you should start by respecting
    them.

  • Cannot install dreamweaver cs3 design premium on iMac

I purchased a new iMac and used the migration assistant to migrate everything from another iMac and now I cannot open dreamweaver anymore. I just get a blank error box.
Both iMacs are intel based and are running 10.2.7 (latest OS) and I never had any issues with dreamweaver on the other computer.
Since I can't afford the $1000 to upgrade my CS3 Design Premium, I need to get this working. I can open all other CS3 apps with no problems, Photoshop, InDesign, Flash.. but Dreamweaver has the error box popup.
I tried calling but Adobe doesn't provide support for their products after a new product version is released, according to Rajish the customer service rep.
I tried installing from the disk too, but that didn't work either, it gives me an error that says "Required resources are missing" and then I have to click the Quit button.
So I'm stuck, I can't use Dreamweaver unless I can somehow re-install it, or figure out what didn't migrate properly. Any ideas?
*stressed out... and chocolate is not helping....

Cyberious are you using 10.7.2 or 10.2.7?  Most likely it is an issue with using the Migration Assistant.  For complicated programs like Adobe products it is best to do a fresh install instead of migrating the product over.  Users who use the Migration Assistant often face issues such as yours.
You have a couple different options:
The first and easiest would be to format and reinstall the OS on your new Mac.  Then run the Migration Assistant again this time only bringing over your documents and settings.  You will then want to reinstall the software from your installation media.
Second you can try running the uninstaller located in Applications/Utilities/Adobe Installers.  After this is done you will want to run the CS5 Cleaner tool.  For details regarding how to use and obtain the cleaner tool I would recommend reviewing CS5 Cleaner Tool for installation problems | CS5.5, CS5, CS4, CS3 - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cs5-cleaner-tool-installation-problems.html.  You can then again install from the installation media.
I honestly would recommend going with option 1.  In the over decade and half I have been doing support some of the worst issues have come from the use of Migration Assistants/EZ Setup solutions.  I have seen people literarily spend hours trying to resolve their difficulties.

  • Please Insert Adobe CS3 Design Premium to Continue Installation

    Hey there,
I purchased the download version of CS3 Design Premium 3 years ago. I backed up the program to a DVD-R and my external hardrive. My computer crashed and I found was unable to install from my back up copies but was able to download it from adobe.com and installation from the downloaded files went smoothly.
When I reinstalled the suite on my Windows Vista Business HP Desktop, however, I decided not to install Dreamweaver. I just tried to install it now. All was going well until I was prompted to insert the CS3 Design Premium installation disc. I inserted the back up disc I made (no other files on it) and the message box won't budge.
All the CS3 components are working great on my system, I just would like to add Dreamweaver. I also would like to protect myself should the download link become unavailable in the future (right now I'm downloading the suite to my computer). Plus it'd be sweet not to have to wait 3 hours to download each time if possible.
So my question is could someone please assist me in making a backup of my software that works so I can reinstall the suite or individual programs in the future?
Thank you, thank you, thank you. And thank you again.
    Liz
Update: I signed into My Adobe and downloaded CS3 to my desktop, unzipped files, and proceeded to install a few components (after deactivating CS) and the same thing happened - Please Insert Adobe CS3 Design Premium to Continue Installation. I have legal copy of this software that was nearly 2,000, and I can't seem to find any solution after searching for hours on end. I've considered buying an upgrade (the box/disc version) but I'm not sure I'd be able to upgrade if I can't get CS3 to move beyond this error message. I'm feeling frazzled If anyone could help me clear this hurdle I would be so grateful.

    Hey Mylenium,
I appreciate your taking the time to write. I have the files backed up on a 500GB WD Passport. I also burned the files on cd and dvd. You hit the nail on the head with the installer getting hung up on searching for "the magic key." Thanks for the advice re more damage than good re installing separate apps. Too bad it was listed an option if it doesn't truly work. Otherwise I would have installed everything on my system the first time round. Helpful to know know for the future..
My concern about uninstalling everything is that I may run into the same issue during installation. As mentioned prior, I was able to reinstall my software after my computer crashed but only from the download link on adobe.com. Yesterrday an adobe rep told me that the link to my purchased download is only active for 3 years. I purchased my software in March 08 and the link allowed me to download just fine but his comment concerned me. Do you know if Adobe has any plans to deactivate links for prior purchases?
I plan on upgrading but believe I will need access to my original software for the upgrade to work. Or does one get a full copy of the software when upgrading to CS 5.5 with a valid license? I know that my Intuit and Microsoft Suite products work that way.
    Elizabeth
