CS3 Design Premium in Windows 7

Hi,
Bought a new computer with Windows 7.
I lost my "CS3 Design Premium for Windows" installation disk.
So, I downloaded the installation file from Adobe site, extracted it & burned in a DVD as how it supposed be in the Adobe supplied DVD.
When I run the "setup.exe", the wizard appears.
I selected Acrobat Professional & Dreamweaver to install in default location "C:\Program Files\Adobe".
Next screen, it displays the components to be installed & I clicked the next button.
A pop up window displays that "Please insert Adobe CS3 Design Premium disk".
I've gone through another thread in this forum & tried to install all the listed applications of Adobe CS3.
Still no luck.
I need to install Acrobat in the said computer.
Please advise!
Thanks in advance!

  • I NEED CS3 design premium for windows

Dear Adobe - do you have a way to buy previous software versions??
My main client uses CS3 Design Premium so that's what I need (no, I don't want to get CS4 and save everything down).  Now that CS4 is out I can't find any way to get CS3 from Adobe.  I'd like to download it rather than wait for a boxed edition to be shipped, but the only way I can find to do this is by using one of those shady "buy cheap software" sites.

    >>>>Please understand that this is a User to User forum and not an official channel to communciate with Adobe. Typically you would call Adobe Customer Support to get answers to the type of question you pose.
I KNOW that.  It was a lame attempt to be funny.  Clearly didn't work.
    >>>>>Those shady "buy cheap software" sites refer to are typically hawking hacked and/or pirated software and if you buy that stuff, no are no less guilty than those you buy it from.
I DON'T WANT to buy it from a hacker site... but basically what you're saying is that I have no other legitimate option to buy it from Adobe.

  • Can't re-install CS3 Design Premium on Windows 7

The product is Adobe Creative Suite 3 Design Premium. It is volume licensed and I can't get support for it through Adobe Support - they told me to post here. The computer is only a couple of years old and has Windows 7 32bit on it. We have Flash Player, Adobe Reader, CS2 installed.
The issue started out with the user getting this error message when trying to open InDesign:
So, we did at is said and uninstalled CS3 then rebooted. Then we put the disc in and tried installing it back on. This is what we get when we try to install it:
    Points of interest and findings:
In the event logs (eventvwr) it gives off error code 1603 at the same time of the installation which is mentioned here: http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/component-install-failed.html
On that webpage, I clicked on Solution 6 and can say the laptop does not have Google Desktop installed.
There is more than enough disk space available for the installation (system requirements).
No prerelease software has been used.
CD is fine and I even have a copy of the disc contents which also does the same thing.
Installation is done by an administrator account
I tried some things that came up in searches for solutions:
Turned off anti-virus TrendMicro OfficeScan for duration of installation
Turned off Adobe Cue CS2 for duration of installation
Ran the CS5 Cleaner Tool then tried isntallation again a few times
Removed Flash Player for duration of installation
Anyone have any ideas? Have you experienced this issue yourself?

I've encountered almost the exact same issue. Sadly, this is the state of Adobe technical support these days. I spent countless hours chattting with support staff who are mostly ineffective, and then they condemned me to the forums. I've been using Adobe products since the mid to late 80s (pretty much since they've been in business) and it's a disappointment to see that we're left to own devices to troubleshoot these problems. If you have any insight on how to remedy the installation problem since you originally posted, please let me know.

  • Cant reinstall CS3 Design Premium on Windows XP

I am trying to install CS3 on a new PC. The install works but most components freeze when I launch them. Eg Acrobat Professional 8 freezes on first screen. I can open Dreamweaver & Illustrator but then they hang. Flash & Photoshop seem ok. All CS3 worked fine on my original older PC. I reinstalled from DVD. All licences are correct.
Hope someone has a solution to this problem
    Thanks
    Niall

  • Help: CS3 Design Premium suddenly stopped working, won't reinstall

I have a licensed copy of Adobe CS3 Design Premium for Windows (on a machine w/Vista), and everything was working fine until this past weekend, when I was suddenly unable to access any of the programs (with the exception of Acrobat).  Every time I tried to open one of the CS3 applications, I'd get an error message saying that there was a problem with the program, and I would have to uninstall and reinstall.  So, I uninstalled the entire suite, but every time I try to reinstall, at the end of the process I get an uninformative message stating that "Some problems occurred during installation", and a message under each of the components stating "Component install failed".
Nothing on my computer has changed recently -- I haven't added any software, hardware, or otherwise done anything unusual that might cause this problem.  I use this software on a daily basis, so it's become quite a problem for me.
Does anyone know how to fix this issue?  I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling multiple times, always with the same result.
    Any help would be appreciated.

Had you run the DNG on a Mac before?  On the Mac, the DNG Converter works on folders only, not on individual files (unless you use the Finder to drop the icons of your raw files on the DNG Converter application icon).  From within the application, using File > Open, the icon and names of individual raw files will always appear grayed out.
You need to target the folder that contains the files you want to convert.
CAVEAT: all eligible files in the folder will be converted, including any and all DNG files that may already be contained in the folder.  So if you have any DNGs in that folder, they will also be converted again and the original DNGs may be overwritten.

  • CS3 Design Premium deinstalled but not deactivated

I reinstalled Windows 7 and CS3 Design Premium (the Windows disk died) without deactivating CS3. I have reinstalled Windows and CS3 and now I can't activate/register because the activation limit has been exceeded. Phone activation has been discontinued. I have followed the helpx.adobe.com instructions many times, but the internet remedies recommended by Adobe  don't seem to work.
Can anyone help with advice on where I should go to from here to get my CS3 working again? How can I get Adobe to deactivate the now non-existent copies.

You need to contact Adobe Support thru chat and ask them to reset your CS3 activation count (don't ask for more than that).  Chat may not be available until the weekend passes.
For the link below click the Still Need Help? option in the blue area at the bottom and choose the chat option...

  • CS3 Design Premium reinstall problems - Windows 7

I've just upgraded from a Windows XP system that had CS3 Design Premium installed (years ago) to a new Windows 7 PC.
Most of my installed applications made the transition smoothly using LapLink's PCmover, but not CS3.  I spent much of my day today on the phone with Adobe Support.  The technician took control of my PC, and after experiencing the same problem I observed (that Windows would not even uninstall CS3 - so I could attempt a from media installation), he launched into simply deleting folders containing Adobe products.  I was asked to insert one of the CS3 media CDs (Photoshop was suggested), and he started the installation.  Photoshop did seem to install, and register properly, but it's appearing as a stand-alone product, not a part of CS3 Design Premium.
Can anyone advise whether I should continue through the individual product CD installs, or identify the proper procedure to get everything installed as part of the Suite?  I'm most eager to get Photoshop, Flash, and Acrobat installed and functional, but the way the CDs are labeled, I'm not even sure which ones provide Flash and Acrobat software.

It is probably good advice to just start over, but it's not practical to be without my PC for the days it would take to ship it back to Corporate to have the company image re-installed.
I don't use all the CS3 Design Premium products - chiefly only Photoshop, Flash and Acrobat,  If I can get all those running again, I can forego the rest.  Thus far, Photoshop and Premiere Pro have been installed, and launch without complaining of licensing issues.  I'm not recognizing which disc(s) provide Flash and Acrobat software for installation.  I can't see those products being on the Audition, After Effects, or Encore DVDs - sure hope I haven't misplaced any media.
Any further tips will be appreciated.

  • Trying to load CS3 Design Premium on a new machine; it's blocked by system check.

I'm trying to load CS3 Design Premium on a new laptop. The system check is preventing InDesign from loading. It inaccurately indicates I don't have great enough resolution. Does anyone have a workaround?
I have a PC running Windows 7 OS.
    I've done the following:
Adjusted the resolution to maximum resolution and also to the value Adobe recommends. Both without success.
Used Adobe cleaner, restarted, and tried to reload. No luck. InDesign and Illustrator are still prevented from loading due to resolution ((1024 X 768).
    Ideas, tips, and workarounds appreciated!

Jane, please turn off the autoquote in you email when replying.
I've installed it on two CS3 win 7 machines with wide-screens without incident. Are you running the installer from disk or a download? The CS3 installers was pretty finicky, as I recall, and you may need to perform a "clean boot" to get it to work. See How to perform a clean boot to troubleshoot a problem in Windows 8, Windows 7, or Windows Vista

  • Adobe Create Suite 4 Design Premium for Windows Lost Application disk #2

Hi, I have the Adobe Create Suite 4 Design Premium for Windows and have lost the Application disk #2 and cannot reinstall this on my new laptop.  I have the licenses and the rest of the disks.  I have called Adobe and they no longer support CS4.  They suggested I try to find someone who has the software and get a copy of disk 2

I'm not seeing anything but individual applications (and it looks like updates, not installers) in the public forders.
You should be able to get the trial by going to Download Adobe CS4 and CS3 Free Trials Here (incl. After Effects) | ProDesignTools and following the directions VERY CAREFULLY. There is no differnce between trial and licensed installers, so you can enter your serial number when asked.
If that doesn't work, send me a Private Message (click my name to go to my profile and see the actions list on the right) and I'll see what else I might be able to do for you.

  • What is the location for the swatches file in the illustrator product part of Adobe Creative Suite 3 Design Premium for windows (date and lenght)? File that manges its funcionallity.  Thanks

As per adobe agent chat representative, the following question is posted on the fórum to obtain an answe from adobe.
What is the location for the swatches file in the illustrator product part of Adobe Creative Suite 3 Design Premium for windows (date and lenght)? File that manges its funcionallity.
    Thanks
    <moved from downloading,installing,setting up - kglad>

Illustrator is not working as it should...
I want them to compare the original size and date of creation with what I have installed on my computer... I have installed several times with my original CD and I tried once downloading the files from the adobe site (using my own license). I suspect the files has been modified or renamed on my laptop by an external unauthorized user causing the malfunction of the application.
Customer services does not support CS3 anymore and the updates / patches in the adobe site does not solve the problem... They redirect me to the forums for support...
Presently, my problem is that after creating a swatch and drag it to the swatch panel, it does not fill as it should a new form... Now, after deactivating and activating my license the swatch seems to fill the new form but when the filter that the swatch has is persistence in the next filling object created even though a different color is being used as a fill (X)... Help in the creation of a swatch over the internet just complicate the issue.
That's why I would like to know whether updates on my product are being received or files are being replaced without my knowledge...
    Thanks...
PS Do you know how to contact a staff adobe employer on the forums?

  • Please Insert Adobe CS3 Design Premium to Continue Installation

    Hey there,
I purchased the download version of CS3 Design Premium 3 years ago. I backed up the program to a DVD-R and my external hardrive. My computer crashed and I found was unable to install from my back up copies but was able to download it from adobe.com and installation from the downloaded files went smoothly.
When I reinstalled the suite on my Windows Vista Business HP Desktop, however, I decided not to install Dreamweaver. I just tried to install it now. All was going well until I was prompted to insert the CS3 Design Premium installation disc. I inserted the back up disc I made (no other files on it) and the message box won't budge.
All the CS3 components are working great on my system, I just would like to add Dreamweaver. I also would like to protect myself should the download link become unavailable in the future (right now I'm downloading the suite to my computer). Plus it'd be sweet not to have to wait 3 hours to download each time if possible.
So my question is could someone please assist me in making a backup of my software that works so I can reinstall the suite or individual programs in the future?
Thank you, thank you, thank you. And thank you again.
    Liz
Update: I signed into My Adobe and downloaded CS3 to my desktop, unzipped files, and proceeded to install a few components (after deactivating CS) and the same thing happened - Please Insert Adobe CS3 Design Premium to Continue Installation. I have legal copy of this software that was nearly 2,000, and I can't seem to find any solution after searching for hours on end. I've considered buying an upgrade (the box/disc version) but I'm not sure I'd be able to upgrade if I can't get CS3 to move beyond this error message. I'm feeling frazzled If anyone could help me clear this hurdle I would be so grateful.

    Hey Mylenium,
I appreciate your taking the time to write. I have the files backed up on a 500GB WD Passport. I also burned the files on cd and dvd. You hit the nail on the head with the installer getting hung up on searching for "the magic key." Thanks for the advice re more damage than good re installing separate apps. Too bad it was listed an option if it doesn't truly work. Otherwise I would have installed everything on my system the first time round. Helpful to know know for the future..
My concern about uninstalling everything is that I may run into the same issue during installation. As mentioned prior, I was able to reinstall my software after my computer crashed but only from the download link on adobe.com. Yesterrday an adobe rep told me that the link to my purchased download is only active for 3 years. I purchased my software in March 08 and the link allowed me to download just fine but his comment concerned me. Do you know if Adobe has any plans to deactivate links for prior purchases?
I plan on upgrading but believe I will need access to my original software for the upgrade to work. Or does one get a full copy of the software when upgrading to CS 5.5 with a valid license? I know that my Intuit and Microsoft Suite products work that way.

  • CS3 Design Premium - Acrobat error on installation

    Hi,
I have the CS3 Design Premium Suite. Up until about 2 weeks ago, I wasn't having any issues with it. I primarily use Photoshop/Dreamweaver/Flash, but was happy to have Acrobat and the Reader for functionality.
Well, I reinstalled the entire suite, due to issues with Photoshop. I thought it was best to start out clean again, so I installed everything. I do believe that was the beginning of this new issue. :(
When the suite installation was complete, there was an error message. It read:
    Errors 1 Component(s)
Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional (at install older versions get upgraded)
    Component install failed
It wasn't kidding, it really did fail! I can't even use Adobe Reader for my .pdf files anymore. :(
I attempted to uninstall the product and I was unsuccessful in that. I then did a repair/install and got the same error message. I changed the name of the existing Acrobat folder on my computer, so the install would have to create an entirely new directory. The install still fails.
It all worked before and I have not added any new hardware to my system.
I am running Windows XP Pro, SP3.
and for those that know me on these fora this next sentence is unncessary, but for those who do not know me, yes, it's a legit, non-pirated version of the software! ;)
    Thanks for any help!
    Hopper

thanks graf, I'll head over there.
    back ...
I did try some of the suggestions that were mentioned in someone else's post and they didn't work for me. I'll make my own post. I did see something mentioned about issues with SP3 ...
Hey, do you have a link for the cleanup utility from MS (didn't look yet, just thought I would ask in case you had it handy! ;))
    thanks!

  • CS3 Design Premium installation fails many times

    Hello,
After several weeks of repeating re-installation of CS3 Design Premium, I am still struggling on it and get more frustration on Adobe products. I installed the CS3 products 2 year ago; all products on CS3 suddenly stopped working anymore for some reasons 3 months ago. I couldn't recall what I had done. I was not in hurry to fix it up even I failed on the re-installation at that time. However, I need to work on a web site recently. I need the software badly and couldn't re-install it successfully.
I could only install Acrobat 8 professional successfully, but the rest of products (Dreamweaver, Photoshop, AI, InDesign, Flash, Bridge etc...) failed.
Product: Adobe Creative Suite 3 Design Premium (that runs on Windows Vista Home Premium SP2)
    My steps for the re-installation
    1) Dig up information from Adobe Knowledgebase for related topics
    2) Uninstall CS3
    3) Uninstall Adobe related products
    4) Uninstall Macromedia Firework 8
    5) reboot
    6) Install Windows Clean up utilty
    7) Run Adobe CS3 clean up script on level 4 (sometimes run more than once)
    8) Reboot
    9) Check sufficient spare disk storage before installation
    10) Disable Firewall
    11) Run msconfig to disable AVG, Adware and Windows Defender
    12) Reboot
    12) Copy Adobe DVD programs to desktop
    13) Run CS3 install program as an administrator
    14) fail again
I lost many days and nights of hard work. Would someone please give me some light to resolve the problem? Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Patrick

I have the very same problem.  I have not been able to run CS3 Web Premium on my desktop for about a year.
As I recall, there was a request for me to register the software which I selected 'Remind me later' or something to that effect (I do have a clean license - just didn't want to take the time to register), then... one day it said something like 'This version (or something tothat) can no longer function without a license'.  I thought... that's odd.  At that point I decided to uninstall the Suite and reinstall using my key... logical, right?  No.  The uninstall appeared to function as it should.  Then, when reinstalling the Suite, all goes well until the last screen which notifies me that everything loads except Acrobat Professional 8.  Uninstall again, reinstall again.
Initially, I was running Vista Home Premium.  I honestly thought Vista was the culprit but after my upgrade to 32 bit Windows 7 Ultimate (very stable) a day ago, I know that it wasn't.  All I know is that I have a $1400 software that I cannot use.
    Thoughts?  Anyone?

  • CS3 Design Premium installation on new machine

Hi hoping you can advise me as I'm a recent member of the forum.
I'm running CS3 Design Premium at work (am hoping to upgrade the software later this year) and am in the process of getting a new desktop (Dell T3500, 1 intel Xeon W3680 3.06Ghz processor, 6GB Ram, 500MB HD, 1GB video card, Windows 7 64-Bit (tho they may just install XP for now)).  This machine will be 'mine' for the next 5yrs so I want to make sure that I get one that will 'do the job'.
My IT dept have asked me to find out if the above software would benefit from a machine with a dual core or quad core processor, is the support out their from Adobe for quad core processors?  I will admit I have no idea so thought I'd ask you guys .
Any help/advice you can give on the hardware spec would be greatly appreciated.
    A.

    Steve,
Thanks for getting back to me with regards to my HD query re Design Premium
    - I've taken the info and forwarded it to my IT dept with some other stuff
