CS3 Design Standard Crashing with Lion

I need help!  My CS3 was working fine until recently.  I can't print from Illustrator or InDesign, EVERY TIME I click to print, the software CRASHES!  At times it will CRASH upon launching.  I've unistalled/reinstalled, ran the CS Cleaner Tool, all to NO avail.  I'd really appreciate help - I need my software!!

  • Is CS3 Design Standard compatible with Windows 7 64-bits and MS Office 2010 Pro Plus?

    Hi,
I have been googling around to see if Adobe CS3 Design Standard is compatible with Windows 7 64-bits with MS Office 2010 Pro Plus, but I couldn't find a decent answer.
If anyone here has any idea on this, please let me know.
As far as i know Adobe CS3 comes with Adobe Acrobat 8 Pro which is not compatible with MS Office 2010, so I am sort of worried that I will need to upgrade my CS3 to CS6.
    Any advises are welcome.
    Thanks.

I don't know if Acrobat 8 is Win 7 64 bit compatible or if it's supported. The rest of the apps should be fine.
But I do think you'll have issues with Office 2010 files being placed into InDesign.
Moving to CS6 is something you should be thinking about very soon. You only get upgrade pricing until the end of the year, but I highly recommend taking a look at Creative Cloud. At $29.99/month for the first year it's a bargain.

    Bad news for you too.
First, you are not addressing Adobe here in the user forums.
Secondly, Adobe does not support CS3 any longer because it hasn't been sold for years.
Therefore, you're left to the good will of fellow users who volunteer their time here free of charge, if one of them has a solution to your issue.  No one is under any obligation to reply, so ask nicely.
One thing I can tell you is that you have not applied any of the versions available for Photoshop.  Unfortunately, the Adobe auto updater was an unmitigated piece of cr@p in any version prior to CS6.  Do not rely on it to assume you are up to date just because it doesn't show any updates available to you under Help > Updates.
You need to look for the downloads and apply them manually yourself.
I can't offer any more assistance because I don't do Windows.  Sorry.

Hi! I've got CS3 Design Standard - the actual disks and Software License certificate. It was installed on my laptop which crashed and could therefore not be uninstalled. I have now installed it on my new MacBook Pro, but cannot get it registered with the serial number. Is it because it wasn't uninstalled on the previous laptop? What to do now?? Thx!

Maybe this can help someone else...  I simply had to properly uninstall CS3 and reinstall it again after that.  I think that sorted it!  I also remember having a similar issue with Macs at work a couple of years back.  Not sure whether the same applies to CS5/CS6.  Here's a link on how to properly uninstall CS3 on Windows XP, Windows Vista and Mac OS.  I'm on OS X 10.9.2 but it worked just fine.  Remove Creative Suite 3 and CS3 products

  • Previous computer crashed without my Adobe CS3 Design Standard for Macintosh application being uninstalled, I'm having issues with the CS3 on my new Macintosh laptop. Please help!

Since the previous computer crashed without my Adobe CS3 Design Standard for Macintosh applications being uninstalled, I'm having issues with the CS3 on my new Macintosh laptop. Please help, I've tried using the online "contact us" with no success, unable to get in contact with a tech support agent that can assist me.

CS3 is too old to run on a new Macintosh laptop, sorry. You'll have to purchase CS6 or a Creative Cloud subscription.

  • CS3 Design Standard -PDF Failure with Windows 7

Hi there - I have a new computer with Windows 7. I have installed my CS3 Design Standard and have been using it for over a week. Today I opened one of my large documents (64 pages) and tried to export to a pdf and it won't do it. I have successfully exported single page documents. I sent the Indesign document to my printer who managed to export, no problem. I am desperate for help as I have to get documents to print!! Do I need a plug in?
    Thanks for reading. Ali

This forum is for suite related questions. Please visit the InDesign forum and look for similar problems.
If you can't find anything then please post your question with full details. The fact that it doesn't work, is not going to help anyone. You need to tell exactly what happens when you try.

  • Can I use CS3 Design Standard with CS4 Web Standard?

I have a somewhat confusing question/s.   I have CS3 Design Standard currently.  I need Dreamweaver and Flash and I'd like to do it the most cost effective way.  I'm perfectly happy with my CS3 versions of Photoshop & Illustrator and don't really want to pay for upgrading them unless I really have to.
    1.  If I purchase CS4 Web Standard, not upgrade, will that impact my ability to use my CS3 products.  (specifically, Photoshop & Illustrator)  Can you run both CS3 & CS4 concurrently?
    2.  If I upgrade from the CS3 Design Standard to CS4 Web Standard, will it delete my CS3 Photoshop & Illustrator or will it just add the CS4 applications and leave the CS3 products (that aren't included in the upgrade) alone?
Thanks to anyone who can assist me.  I hope my questions make sense.  Any advice is appreciated!
    Rebecca
In case it's important, I'm running OSX 10.5.8 on a MBP

    1. No and Yes. (but why would you buy the full version instead of the upgrade?)
    2. The CS4 installer doesn't touch the CS3 apps.

  • Cannot activate CS3 Design Standard in ML

    Hi,
I have Mountain Lion 10.8.2 installed and recently tried to install my CS3 Design Standard bought as a student license. I can install fine, but when prompted to activate, I get an error message saying there is no internet connection. I have tried different internet connection without any luck. I do not have a firewall installed on my computer. I have tried activating it by phone but I get a voice message saying that a problem occured. My license should be just fine. What seems to be the problem?
    Please help,
    Best regards
PS. I should add that the programs work just fine when I use the trial license. However, I would naturally very much like to activate my license before the trial expires.

Get in touch with support. If the phone activation says that there's a problem, then something's up. That aside, refer to this:
    Sign in or activation errors
Even if it's only for current products, the basic troubleshooting steps are the same...

  • Medias for Adobe CS3 Design Standard/Premium (Windows) Volume License

    Hello,
We have volume licenses for CS3 Design Standard /Design Premium but no media kit for Windows, unfortunately. All attempts at finding this or buying it have failed. I've spoken direct to Adobe and the official solution is to upgrade to CS6 or Adobe CC! Which really isn't helpful. I've tried upgrading from the trial version of Design Std but that doesn't work.
    Thanks

I'm a bit confused...I saw your note above about not working with volume license keys, but I disregarded it out of optimism because it doesn't match my experience.
For our volume licenses, we get our our downloads via ESD (since CS3), and I was under the strong impression they were the same as the trial media (I believe the filenames and download URLs are actually the same?), but I guess I have not verified.
I wonder if the more likely case is that your volume license code is invalid or has a typo or something? On the other hand, you guys seem to have two data points (Martin and James) to my one marginal one ("strong impression"), so there's that. And I guess my experience with this is Macintosh based but it should not be platform-specific.
    Still.
I guess another possibility is to make sure that you're downloading the Design Standard installer instead of the installer for the individual products or perhaps the wrong suite package? I dunno.
I remain skeptical, but I realize there's not a lot of data to back up my skepticism.

  • Installed CS3 Design Standard.. Acrobat 8 is just not there...

  • CS3 design standard deactivation

    Hi!
We purchased two licenses for CS3 Design Standard collection
It was all perfect until one of the workstations went out of order. OS became so corrupted that we couldn't deactivate the product. Once we got all the mess sorted out, I've downloaded a copy of CS3 form adobe website. But i was unable to activate it due to the fact that we reached the number of activations available. I was offered to contact support. I got in touch with 3 different people and i got three different answers:
1st try - I was offered to call support. But when I call support I receive a notification that support for CS is not available
2nd try - I was helped to restore corporate access to licensing.adobe.com (sale agent never cared about informing me back in 2008). And i was said that i need to download another version of distributive. Once i restored access to our account - I saw no download available
3rd attempt - I was literally told that I will get no help unless I upgrade my subscription
To be honest I was never humiliated like that ever before and I can't figure a way out
Maybe some can give me 4th and right advice on that problem?
    Thank you

Well i have tried installing the CS3 Design Standard on Windows 7 the normal way, logged in and executing the installer. This works fine,
nothing says that the system requirements are not fulfilled. Everything works fine.
    It just dont work silently....
    Does anyone know whats wrong?
    Please help...

Hi, this might be a little late, but who knows, for the future reference, this is what solved the problem for me:
Each major application has a file called appname.proxy.xml in their payload folder. At the bottom of the file, simply remove the OS check:
    <SystemRequirementsJSON>[
    {"OS":{"Macintosh":{"Require":[{"Version":"10.4.8"}],"Exclude":[{"Version":"10.4.8"}]},"Wi ndows":{"XP":{"Exclude":true,"Require":{"MinServicePack":"2","@servicePack64Bit":1
    ,"Need64Bit":"0"}},"Server2003":{"Exclude":true},"Vista":{"Require":true}}}

  • Adobe CS3 Design Standard download link please!

Adobe CS3 Design Standard download link please!

if you follow all 7 steps you can dl a trial here:  http://prodesigntools.com/download-adobe-cs4-and-cs3-free-trials-here.html
    and activate with your serial.
if you have a problem dl'g, you didn't follow all 7 steps.  the most common error involves failing to meticulously follow steps 1,2 and/or 3 (which adds a cookie to your system enabling you to download the correct version from adobe.com).

  • Need replacement disc for Creative Suite CS3 Design Standard

My hard drive on my MacBook Pro is crapping out on me and refuses to let me make a full bootable backup so I can replace the disk. Problem is that I've foolishly managed to lose my physical disks for Creative Suite CS3 Design Standard so I can't do a reinstall. Can anyone on the forum help? Thanks in advance.

If you still have your serial number somewhere, you may call Adobe Tech Support and provide them with the details that you have. If you are really nice to them, they may send you a replacement disc. Good Luck.

  • Cs3 design standard registration error

I'm having trouble registering this product that I just installed. When I get to the registration window, it says"a problem was encountered while trying to send information over the Internet"
It is Adobe creative Suite 3, Design standard.
Also, I am getting an error box that says "Adobe updater quit unexpectedly"

The software is installed and functioning on my new Macbook Pro. When I installed the CS3 software a few days ago, I reached a point where it asked for the serial number. It accepted the number as valid, then took me to an error screen saying “A problem was encountered while trying to send information over the internet.”
After contacting this forum, I’ve come to understand that is an old/invalid screen. I was given an alternate link, and when visited that link and I entered the serial number, it gave an error which read, “The code you entered is invalid. Please try again.” (I saved a screen copy of all this. It was the correct code.)
After visiting the last link you shared in your most recent reply, and navigating around the site, I found the "My Products" page, and entered my serial number from the CS3 Design Standard. It said the serial has already been registered.
At this point, the applications are loaded, and I have been using Photoshop and Bridge cs3 for the last 4 days. Illustrator and InDesign are working as well. I can give you the serial number if that will help
    I have two questions:
Will the software stop working after 30 days?? (Do I need to be bothering with all these registration errors?)
How do I install the CONTENT DVD that came in the package? There is no Set Up file or Installer on the second dvd like there was on the Application DVD. Do I transfer the files off the disc into a select folder? Or are they supposed to be installed in some way using an installer?
