CS3-Font issue spaces appears as blocks
I have a user that with certain types of fonts (TrueType Regular) are having a problem. Spaces (space character) are appearing as blocks. This user has a PC that is exactly like the other two next to her and those two are working perfectly. All are WinXP SP2 with latest CS3. I've deleted and reinstalled the fonts, uninstalled and reinstalled CS3 and even copied over the working fonts from one of the other PCs and that didn't fix the problem.
I've also moved the font to the InDesign CS3\Fonts folder (per someone else's suggestion on this forum) and this didn't work either. I'm open to any suggeston.

This says to me that the blocks are not really spaces, because when you
take a file from the blocky computer to a good computer, they don't turn
into spaces.

What happens if you copy one of these blocky spaces and paste it into
Find/Replace? Does it show up there as a block, or a space, or something
else?
What fonts, specifically, are doing this? Is it happening only in Indesign?
Have you tried deleting preferences? Have you tried loading Indesign
from a new user account on the same computer? Although I've never heard
of either of these solving your specific problem, both are responsible
for fixing a wide variety of unexplainable oddities.

Sorry for not getting back to you sooner.
Unfortunately, it looks like something is wrong with the file system and the installer can't see the root drive to install to. A Google search returns numerous results affecting various products and the recurring theme is that something is wrong with the disk. There are many recommendations from various sources, but nothing definitive.

I would try the following options:
Try using the PKG installer. This is used Mac SysAdmins to install Flash Player within their organization and uses a slightly different installer path, which may or may not work.
Some people have had success with disk and permissions repair some have not. You can try running a disk and permissions repair. After the disk and permissions repair is complete, reboot the system and try to install again using either the online installer (get.adobe.com/flashplayer) or the offline installer, posted at the bottom of the Installation problems | Flash Player | Mac page in the ‘Still having problems’ section.
If these options do not work, I'd reach out to Apple support to see if they have a suggestion. If you do find a resolution to this, please let me know. I'll be happy to share it with people that encounter the problem in the future.

Crystal report font issue when rendered as PDF
Hi we are experiencing an issue with custom fonts within Crystal reports. The font is an open type font that does appear to work if the report is viewed as a crystal report, but when it is rendered or scheduled into a PDF instance it fails and gives a Crystal Reports: Print Engine Error when using openDocument and scheduling gives exporter error. Any help or feedback is appreciated

I canu2019t find an official statement for XI 3.1, however, there is a test you can run and itu2019s to delete the Opentype font from the server and use the same font name but TTF instead. At least, this behaviour has been reported here:

Acrobat 7 Pro - Comment Summary Font Issue
We have a situation involving font usage in comments in Acrobat 7 Pro that I hope someone can shed some light on. It will be some time before we can move to version 8 or 9, so the problem is important to us.
Here's the symptom, then I have a few basic background questions. The text in a Note comment includes a 'less than or equal to' symbol which appears correctly. The problem comes when the comments are summarized to a PDF file or printed. The 'equal to' portion has now disappeared! I first thought that this might be a font issue, but now am unsure.
My basic questions are:
What font is Acrobat using when a comment is created? I realize that you can set a preference for which font to use when viewing comments, but apparently not when creating them?
When a comment summary is created to a PDF file, what determines which font is used in the summary? We have seen cases where the resulting PDF has used Arial or Tahoma or SimSun or.........
We have had at least one situation where opening the same Acrobat 7 PDF in Acrobat 8 Pro did not exhibit the problem when summarized there. Was this a known issue that was repaired in Acrobat 8?

We have been having problems with .eps files placed in Quark and exported to a pdf. In Acrobat 7 standard the fonts from the .eps file gets garbled when read on the PC. Use local fonts seems to cure this problem, but I took the pdf file and opened it in Acrobat 8 and got this message. "Cannot extract the embedded font 'XYSNP+Trajan-Regular'. Some characters may not display or print correctly." Now all the surrounding text in Trajan that was input from Quark 6.5 changes to a different font when printed. Would switching to an Opentype version of the font solve this problem?
ThanksI have been having the same sort of problem but with Illustrator CS3, Photoshop CS3, InDesign CS2, and Acrobat 8 Professional. I am the only Mac in the building (brand new system), everyone else is on PC. I am only getting the font issue with the Optima family. The school I work for purchased the font as a PostScript Type 1 outline font. We were guessing that I might be having issues because I am on a Mac.
When working in InDesign, I have to print off most of my pieces on an inkjet printer, if I try to print to a xerox laser, Indesign crashes or pops up with an error "There is a problem with the font Optima." I have been using both methods for creating a pdf in indesign:exporting to and printing as.
If I use the optima font in Illustrator I get a "can't print the illustration. There's a bad font used in the system" error.
When I create PDF's through Indesign, the PDF turns out fine on-screen, but the error message pops up "Cannot extract the embedded font 'XQFZSM+Optima'. Some characters may not display or print correctly."
When I try to print the PDF out on either a laser or inkjet printer, the optima font has a lot of missing letters or is replaced by a different font.
This has been very frustrating. The weird thing is that it doesnt happen with all projects that use the optima font. I have done some very small projects (envelopes, postcards) and have either had an issue or no issue at all with optima; and Ive worked on larger projects (magazines, newsletters) and have almost always-from what I can remember-had a problem.
Is this something that I can fix with program settings? Or would a Mac compatible font be the solution?

we are migrating from windows to red-hat Linux web logic 10.3.2 and fusion middle-ware 11.1.1.2 that worked perfectly in the windows after making compliation and publishing the application on redhat i found there is arabic font issue in the reports with the arabic language and it appeared if we print more than five paper in pdf as the the last two paper have no issue but the issue in the first printed paper

Terminus 9pt font issue in Konsole after upgrade
I have a slightly weird font issue in Konsole following a bunch of upgrades today. Basically, at the beginning of the command line and the beginning of subsequent words on that line, the very first character sort of flashes and gets truncated if it is one of several letters. Very narrow characters are not affected (e.g. i) but most are (e.g. n, g, m, r etc.). Once I press enter, the characters look perfectly normal - the issue only occurs on the line being edited and while I am entering or within words as opposed to spaces. Moreover, it only occurs for the first letters of words. Subsequent letters look fine. Once a space is typed following the first word, the character looks normal unless and until I type another letter or return to edit the first word. If I type "cat" it will be a truncated c; at "cat " all looks fine; then "cat c" and the first c is truncated; "cat cat " all is well; "cat c" with the cursor moved back over the second c and the second c rather than the first is truncated.
Any thoughts as to what I should check? I'm using the infinality stuff from AUR. I updated that last night. However, I don't _think_ I saw the issue today until after upgrading the kernel. Here are the last entries from pacman.log:

I'm using Terminus (TTF) in size 9 in Konsole. This hasn't been changed for quite a while.
Any suggestions on how best to troubleshoot this? Is it possible that I need to rebuild some other AUR packages associated with the infinality ones but which haven't actually been updated? Or is it likely to be to do with something else in the list?
EDIT: It only seems to be some fonts at some sizes e.g. Monaco 8pt is OK but Terminus 9pt isn't; Terminus 10pt is OK; etc.

IPhoto calendar and book font issue
On or near Nov. 30th, 2009, I launched iPhoto 8.1 to produce a calendar. The upgrade option came up and I proceeded to do the installation.
I attempted to upgrade to iPhoto 8.1.1 on a new 2.66 GHz Quad Mac Pro running OS 10.6.2. Install did not work the first time.
I then launched iPhoto to produce a new calendar. Prior attempts have not had any font issue.
When selecting my favourite font, Kon Tiki, a different font appears. When selecting that new font, yet another font appears. This continues indefinitely.
This issue also occurs when creating new books. Existing books and calendars in my Keepsakes retain their original font but I do not want to test if they change until this is resolved.
I tried reinstalling original application from Time Machine but error continues. I then tried a second successful time to install the upgrade to iPhoto 8.1.1
I have since tested this on my 3.06 GHz iMac running OS 10.6.2. This system had already been upgraded to iPhoto 8.1.1 but no calendars or books had been produced since the upgrade.
The same issues occur.
2.0 GHz MacBook running iPhoto 8.1 does not have this issue.I ran Font Book and Validated all fonts. Cleaned up quite a bit but did not resolve the issue. Fonts are no longer as randomly selected (Kozuka Gothic Pro now selects Kon Tiki Kona consistently) but does show the secondary font choice of the font above it. Current version on Mac Pro seems to corrupt the iPhoto Library. Accessing those iPhoto Libraries from different computer (2.0 GHz iMac running iPhoto 8.1 resolves the issue and reinstates selected fonts).
Second issue now occurring where previously created Calendars are becoming Books on Mac Pro system. I have tried removing all iPhoto files and reinstalling from iLife '09 disc then upgrading to 8.1 but error still occurs.
How do you remove all iPhoto files and where are they. I can either reinstall them from iLife '09 disc (again) or copy them from MacBook system where they appear to be working.
I'm not completely able to locate all iPhoto files it seems. -

I just updated to Yosemite and my Safari fonts have been replaced by what appears to be Arial Bold Italics.
Everything looks Bold and Italics, even when I am typing this message.
Can someone help me with this font issue?
Thanks.I'm having this issue too. It starts this way and next I will see all the fonts corrupt or change to a bold arial font. I'm totally sick of this. Restarting in safe mode, repair permissions, remove caches and preferences and when that doesn't work, reset Safari. Apple needs to fix this ASAP.

I've read of others having font issues with Safari 5.1 and Lion, but I still have Snow Leopard and am having an issue with some fonts showing as a block of As. This occurred when I set up Suitcase Fusion 3, but I did not touch any system fonts. I was able to solve part of the issue with activating Arial in the font manager, but some areas still do not reveal font, most notably, areas marked for username/password on forms. Any ideas? Btw, I do not seem to have a problem in Chrome or Firefox.

I put some fonts back into the user folder (never touched the fonts in the system library) and resolved SOME of the "A" issues, but not all. I have no problem in Chrome or Firefox. I've tried multiple solutions in the past couple days, including this fix for sandboxing conflict http://reviews.cnet.com/8301-13727_7-20087102-263/webkit-sandboxing-conflict-cau ses-safari-block-a-font-problem/ but then I got permission errors when I tried to change the file. I'm not even running Lion and I'm having this issue.

Hello,
For my website, I am using Arial as my font. For some reason, only certain pages are having font issues once published. The published Arial fonts are changed to Times and also decreased in size.
I've been trying to figure out the cause, and it appears to occur when fonts are bold or underlined, but some times I have no issues and other times I can't avoid it.
I've tried deleting the pages and then starting with a blank page but the font issues keep re-occuring.
Anybody else experience this and is there a way to solve this?

JeffThe first thing you need to establish is whether this problem is with iWeb or publishing.
To do this you need to publish to a local folder by clicking your website name at the top of the left column in the iWeb window and selecting that option on the publishing options page.
This will give you a folder of files and an index.html file. Double click the index file to launch your site in the browser and see if the errors are present. If they are, the problem is in iWeb. If they aren't, then you have a publishing problem.

I'm currently using Vista with CS3 and considering upgrading to Windows 7 and CS5. Is there a font issue with the Windows7/CS5 combination? I had to buy a third party font manager when I upgraded to Vista and would like to know if CS5 fixed the problem.

Font issues in Illustartor going from Mac to PC
We are using Illustrator CS3 with Adobe Open Type fonts on both a PC and Mac machine. When opening an .ai file on the PC that was created on the Mac, we get all the missing font errors. Both computers have the same fonts installed. The interesting thing is that files created on the PC open fine on the Mac without any font issues. What's the deal?

Well a Mac formatted iPod cannot be read by a pc without the use of 3rd party software (such as XPlay2), and of course if you reformat the iPod for pc use, you'll lose the songs.

when I run JavaHelp in Windows NT, the help content font appears like I chose, but when I run it in Solaris (UNIX) the help content font is completely different.
Have anyone faced this issue?

RodrigoHello guys, since I had no answer maybe none experienced what I did...
This week I figured out the issue. When accessing UNIX in a PC through Exceed look out if fonts in your GUI are not exactly what you have chosen or are scrambled or overlap. Most likely your Exceed is set to substitute automatically certain fonts. Follows solution:
- close any UNIX section/Exceed window
- Open Xconfig -> Fonts
- Click Database fonts
- Uncheck Substitute Fonts Automatically
Depending on what Exceed version you may experience the font issue or not. This occurred in version 5.0 and 6.2.
I hope this can help someone with font issues.

In the CSS file under the @media only screen and (min-width: 769px) section, modify the following style rules

display: block;
Having said that, you will do well to scrap FGL and have a look at Bootstrap
