CS3 HELP!!!! CAN'T SAVE!!!!!!
I was saving out pages from a PSD as PDF pages for Acrobat import.
I must have accidentally saved the PSD document as a PDF.
Now I cannot save it as PSD with layers!!!!
I've tried, and it will only save out as a PSD with one page.
If I lose this file with layers this project is screwed.
I hope there is a solution.

WHAT I WANT: TO SAVE THE PSD WITH LAYERS.
I have the PSD open. All of the layers are there.
Earlier, I must have goofed because it is now called 07.PDF.
Which is the name of one of the PDF pages.
I TRY to save this PDF with layers under another name as a PSD.
Save layers are checked,
When I open the new file, it only has one layer.
So even though this document has many layers, I cannot save it
with layers.
If I close out of this document, I WILL LOSE ALL OF THE LAYERS.
This has happened before, and once the document closes, everything
is lost except one layer.
I hope that this is clear.

Illus CS3 error CAN'T SAVE ILLUSTRATION after second save
Illustrator CS3 on XP, 4gigs of ram, and 2 drives with program on C and files on D. Working on a 400 meg map file with some transparency. After 2 or 3 edits to file and one (rarely two) successful saves, I start getting message "Can't save the illustration". I shut program down, restart and problem starts over after very few mainipulations to file. My IT reloaded program with a new user profile, and today I trashed my Aiprefs file as suggested in your FAQ forum. It's taking me all day to make very few edits to my map. The file contains some vecotr and raster data from ArcGIS and images from FreeHand 11 (pasted and placed).
Any suggestions?Can you please provide more exact detail, as this could be a number of things, and your post could be interpreted in a number of different ways as to exactly when the message is coming up. Also what version and platform are you using.
After you save once, the save command is greyed out and you should not be able to save again. If you have trouble saving try resetting your prefs, doing any dot update to your version, and temporartily removing any nonstandard plug ins. -
When I make certain edits (such as changing to black and white), then click "Save As", then choose JPG file type and "save", I am unable to view the image in Windows or even to open it back up in Photoshop Elements (if I try to open back up in PSE, I get a message saying it can't be opened b/c it is the wrong type of file). If I hover over the image in Windows, it is listed as "Type: File" instead of "Type JPEG image" even though I saved it as a JPG file.
I have tried checking (or unchecking) the boxes saying "Save as Copy", "ICC File", "Save as version set", "Save lower case extension" and nothing has worked.
Help!!!!!! I am so frustrated and ready to throw PSE away and never buy a Photoshop product again!!!!are you working on a raw image ?

Error Msg Help Can't Save PSD Files

Mac OS 10.6 PS4 with latest updates and all I was doing was working a picture as normal and tried to save and quit and it wouldn't let me bummmer lost everything I did!!!!

Help! Using Logic 8 on a college network - students saving their projects to their own area on the network. Logic 7 was fine. Logic 8 says 'Document could not be saved' when we try to save.
Also getting message 'File could not be opened' on launching Logic - set in preferences to load our default template. Again, Logic 7 was fine loading the Autoload.Try to reset the hard-router for 40 seconds,power cycle the router and try again...Also,reduce the MTU size on the router to 1365.

"Can't Save the File. Can't Print the File" error in Illustrato CS3
I get the error "CAN'T SAVE THE FILE. CAN'T PRINT THE FILE". In Illustrator CS3
According to adobe this is an issue of having more that 28 spot colors, so I went to the swatch palette and pulled the fly-out menu out and told it to remove any unused swatches which took me down to 6 spot colors, but I still get the error when trying to save it to EPS format, which is the format I have to have for the ripping program for the vinyl printer in my sign shop. Saving it in AI format causes no issues.
Is there still something I am missing?

However...my issue is...I am making a vehicle wrap on a full size van for a radio station and it consist of pictures of a clouds for the background with two pictures of music artist that are associated with the kind of music this station plays, then there is a big round logo of the radio station that involves three spot colors (Purple, white and one of which is technically the black "K" ribbon) along with the web address of the station but it is of the same colors of the radio station logo...then there is the corporate logo that utilizes another spot color (blue)so as you can see I need the spot colors that I'm using.
So just to make sure I'm clear...I can only have 28 different individual colors, even though I have photos involved in the rendering? How can I make that work because photos obviously have more than 28 colors in them. It doesn't make sense because you can do a live trace on something in literally hundreds of colors.
Would it help if I flattened the photo work from photoshop before I move it to Illustrator? The reason I ask is because when I go to save and choose EPS the next save dialogue that comes up...down at the bottom there is two exclamations that one says something about embedding fonts, which I'm not concerned about and the other is something about there is some artwork that needs flattening.
Please bear with me here cause I am definitely a newbie!! My boss threw to the wolves on this adventure and I am learning by reading and trial and error.

on my macbook pro when opening a page on safaryi can not save it as a pdf only give me the option of saving it as a web page can any body help me on this I have tryed so many times without success?
Just select Print in Safari and then, in the bottom left-hand corner, select PDF and you can save it to whichever flavor pdf file you like.

I purchased adobe acrobat to convert a PDF to a word document - that's all I wanted --
Now every damn PDF I receive or try to open can only be saved in the adobe cloud -- which I have no interest in -- and not on my computer --

I made a dumb decision to 'Erase Free Space' on my drive. I now have no free space, I realize because it wrote 0's over all my free space. Is there a way to undo this??? Help please I can't save any documents now! Thanks in advance all, it is truly appreciated. how can find the hidden temporary files using the terminal what do i type in?
It's more likely a failed Erase Free Space, which creates a huge temporary file; that's why it looks like you have no more available drive space. You can recover from this. See these links

While taking photos my iphone's battery died, now my photos app won't open and I can't save any pictures taken or downloaded. Please help.

A year ago I paid to update Pages to 4.1. If I click on a Pages doc on the desktop the old Pages opens up and I can't save my work and so I lose what I do. So for a year I have been remembering to open Pages using the icon on the bottom of the desktop and all is OK. But when my work is being reviewed and resent to me, then I have problems with opening that file and saving those changes. So I have been coping and pasting the resent work to me and putting it into a new doc.
So today wanting to fix this annoying problem and reading something on this forum I went into applications and moved a Pages something that was in Applications into the iwork 09 file. A pop up box asked if I wanted to replace the old Pages with the newer version and I clicked Yes.
Now I can't open up any of my Pages work on the desktop.
I have not shut down my laptop and restarted - would this solve the problem?

Whenever I try to save a file as a PDF, it tells me that it can't save, because the file is open somewhere else. I don't have anything else open. I have also tried different files and they all say the same thing. Help.
Given there are so many problems and removed features in Pages 5, why not just continue using Pages '09?

I can not save any data to external hard drive from my mac pro. Is there anyone can help me in this regard?( note, when i first plug my ext. drive to mac i chose option to backup later)
The device may be formatted for Windows, as NTFS. The format is readable, but not natively writable on a Mac. To write to the device, you must either reformat it (erasing all the contents) or install third-party software to enable write access to NTFS.

Help! I can't save to disc OR backup my iTunes Library! iTunes support instructions are to simply select 'File', then 'Library', then select 'Back Up to Disc', but when I try to the only options that appear are 'Organize Library...', 'Export Library...' then below those are 'Import Playlist...' and 'Export Playlist...' (which appears in the list, but I cannot select). No option to save my library appears at all. Just those four. I've had no problems syncing, playing, adding or purchasing with my account and my iTunes version is up to date. Can anyone tell me what the problem is and what I should do so I can save my library?

How do I remove the file name extension form a 'file name' cross reference?
I have a cross reference which is refeencing another InDesign file using the cross reference format 'file name', however it includes the file extension. Is there a way to have this extension not display? Maybe a delimiter or perhaps a differnt format
