CS3 keyword search bug

Doing a keyword search in CS3, Bridge does not find most keyworded images I created in CS2. It may come up with 10 images. Just as I did in CS2, I go to Edit>Find>Keyword name>equals>If all criteria are met>check all subfolders. Has anyone had this problem and found a solution?
Thanks. Peter

After updating to Safari 5.1.5 with Adobe Acrobat Pro 10.1.3 on Mac OS X 10.6.8, it is not possible to search for keywords in PDF documents displayed on Safari.
I understand that it is a bug. Is there any way to fix it?

    Hi...
    Try deleting a plugin...
Open the Finder. From the menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
    Typs this:    /Library/Internet Plug-Ins
Move the Adobe PDF Browser plugin  (or PDF Browser plugin) to the Trash.
Quit then relaunch Safari to test.
If that doesn't help, back to the Finder menu.
    Go > Go to Folder
    Type this:  ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safarfi/Cache.db
Move the Cache.db file to the Trash.
Quit then relaunch Safari to test.

  • Bridge CS3 keyword panel search window missing

I am running Bridge CS3 (version 2.0.0.975) on a WinXP desktop and a Win7 laptop. The search window on the keyword panel has disappeared on the laptop, but not on the desktop. I've looked through the Bridge preferences and don't see a setting that would control this, and I haven't found any context menu that would allow me to customize the panel. Can anyone tell me how to get the keyword search window back on my laptop?
    Thank you,

  • CS3 Bridge keyword search failure

To the best of my knowledge this particular issue has not been covered in the dozens of prior posts about keywords.  I apologize if I've missed it.
My photos, by the nature of their creation and paperwork generation, are organized by overall dividers, year, month, partial alphabetic breakdown, and customer name, respectively.  I have a need to be able to find photos across all folders throughout the hierarchy that are of the same person.  I've been using keywords of the individuals' names to accomplish this and it has been tremendously effective.
In 2009, it became necessary to move all images archived in 2008 to another location on the server.  As one might expect, the keywords didn't jive with the index (my reasoning, anyway) and search functionality was ineffective.  Not long thereafter, the functionality came back - most likely by way of a non-indexed keyword search.
The same issue has occured this year in that all the images shot in 2009 had to be moved.  I have changed the manner in which the structure is built to prevent this from being necessary again in the future, but the keyword search is now not functioning again.  However, this time I am unable to re-establish it.  I have tried multiple non-indexed (with subdirectory) keyword searches both across the entire server and in smaller folder breakdowns.  I have cleared the cache and searched again.  Even if I open a folder with brand new files and verify keyword presence and accuracy, a search inside that specific folder will not return a result.
The question is: What have I done / missed?
Even if it had nothing to do with moving the 2009 files, I may have done something to knock something askew that's impeding my search abilities.  I don't use Bridge for very complex tasks, so I might need some extra help, but I'm keenly interested in your ideas and expertise.  Assistance in any form will be appreciated.

  • Light Table & Keyword Filtering - Bug?

Here's my scenario. Project with say 30 images. 10 have the keyword "Monday", 10 the keyword "Tuesday", and the remaining 10, "Wednesday". Select them all, and create a Light Table from selection.
So, I the Light Table 'album' I now filter all those with the keyword "Monday" (using the search - field top RH of the browser strip), all 10 are shown, and select my favourite 5. I drag these 5 to the viewer area (Light Table). I clear the keyword field to none (show all), and all thirty reappear - The 5 I dragged to the viewer now have the red '1' badges on their browser thumbnails and are still on the Light Table.
Next I type "Tuesday" into the search field. All 5 on the light Table disappear, and the browser shows me the 10 with the "Tuesday" keyword. Again, I select my favourite 5 and drag them to the (empty) Light Table. There they are etc.
So the crunch. I now clear the search field again, but where are the 5 I put up there keyworded "Monday"!? The 5 with "Tuesday are now up there, and sure, they're back in the browser, but they've lost their red '1' badges, and have been taken off the Light Table.
This seems crap to me. Perhaps I doing something wrong or is this a bug? I want to be able to put things on the Light Table, and have them stay there despite whatever search I conduct. Surely Aperture should remember which ones I've selected and leave them up there shouldn't it?
    Thanks
    Kevin

OK, so figured out a convoluted bodge-around:
    1. Make an album of all your selects. Select all and make a new Light Table(LT) from all.
    2. With LT selected, click the lock icon.
    3. With LT still selected, hold down apple key, and select your album of selects (step 1). This opens this album in a separate tab, but because lock icon on LT is selected, the LT viewer area is still visible.
    4. in you album of selects, type your chosen keyword search. From the resulting set, select and drag the image(s) to the LT viewer. Do this with as many keyword searches as required. When done you can optionally close the selects album tabbed browser.
    5. Use LT as you normally would. You can now toggle on/off images by keyword by typing it in search field.
Any other methods I've tried crashes Aperture.
    Comments anyone?

  • Keyword search across multiple folders

Is it possible to do keyword searches across multiple folders and drives in Bridge CS3? On disk I have organised my images by geographical location, but want to keyword them and search for them by theme. This will cut across several drives each with numerous folders and sub-folders. All the drives, folders and sub-folders are on the same pc, which is a stand alone machine and not networked.

With Bridge it will search multiple folders on the same drive, but don't think you can search across multiple drives (I read you can with Lightroom).
The search goes down the directory tree starting where you tell it. So therefore, start high enough to include all folders you want to look in.
If you have Vista you could search across multiple drives if they are indexed. Advanced search allows multiple keywords (tags), and it is very fast, much faster than Bridge.

  • Keyword Search not acting as expected.

    Hello
I'm using RoboHelp8 and generating WebHelp Pro to RoboServer8.  I'm trying to improve the end user's experience when using RoboHelp's keyword search.  I've found that even though I add a keyword term to a particular topic, that it does not appear in the list of topics returned.  In some cases, no topics are returned, even though I'm positive I have a assigned that keyword to plenty of topics.
Anyone out there experiencing this same problem?  Am I missing something here?  I switched from FlashHelp Pro to WebHelp Pro because the search feature in Flash wasn't working much at all.  The keyword search works much better in WebHelp Pro, but still trying to figure out this particular issue.
Ok experts, let me have it!!
    Thanks
    Lana

    Hi Lana
I think before anything worthwhile can be offered, we need to define exactly what it is you are doing and where you are doing it.
Where specifically did you add the keyword?
In the Topic Properties on the General tab in the Keywords section?
In the Topic Properties on the Index tab?
In the Project Set-up pod in the External Content Search area? (RoboHelp 9)
    In the Index designer pod?
Depending on your answer we can then move forward with sleuthing what may be happening.
    Cheers... Rick

  • Storing keyword searches

    Hi,
How does one store keyword searches? Can that file be added to?
    Thanks

Yes, and I hope it is a bug.
It might be somewhat related to [this|http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=6719826&#6719826], but I have checked my old (1.5.6) install of Aperture. Doesn't work there either.
    From The Aperture 1.5.6 Manual:
+In the Query HUD, enter the text you want to search for in the search field.+
+You can enter multiple text items, separating them by commas.+
+Aperture locates any images that have a match for all the text items.+
+The images that match the search criteria are displayed in the Browser.+
    At least I cant...?

  • Keyword search on collection set not working for specific sub-collections

I am having the following problem:
    When I do a search (Text->Keyword->Contains All-> for a keyword (in my
case "Fave"), it does not work if I select the collection set that contains the
collection that contains the images with that keyword.
It DOES work if I select the folder, parent folder, or just the
collection that contains the image. Just not the collection set.
The details of how this came about are below - and are probably a
little unusual, but not outside the realm of what should be allowed.
Is there a way to reset/reindex keywords in a collection?
    Specifically:
images lives in collection C1 which is part of collection set
CS1. It lives in F1 (on disk and in LR) which is in parent folder
PF1. A keyword search works when I select F1 or PF1 or C1, but NOT
    when I select CS1
This happens on a set of folders that went through the following
    (totally allowable?) sequence:
    I am running on a Windows 7 64 bit machine with 64 bit LR3.3
I have an internal disk where I keep my catalog and images. Windows
mounts this as P:. I also mount it on my Desktop as the folder
"Lightroom" (this allows me to change to a larger external disk
by mounting it in the same place without changing the locations of
    all the files).
I mistakenly imported pics into P:/PF1 rather than
    C:/.../Desktop/Lightroom/PF1 as I normally do.
Added keywords made a collection C1 put the images in it, and added
    C1 to collection set CS1
Having realized my import mistake (P: rather than
C:/.../Desktop/Lightroom), I went in the Folders->P: section and did
an Update Folder Location on F1 to C:/.../Desktop/Lightroom/F1
This seemed to be all fine, but this weird Keyword search problem
    resulted.
I have tried the following things:
o Deleting and re-adding Keywords in the Collection
o Deleting and re-adding the Keywords in the Folder
o Renaming and relocating the Folder
o Create new collection C2 and move pics from F1 into C2

See my simplified recipe for reproducing this bug (which turns out not to be related to the drive mounting I described):

  • In Adobe Bridge, how can I display keywords in their hierarchy, do an "aka" keyword assignment, and perform multi-value keyword searches?

    Hi Bridge Geniuses!
I need your help. I am using Bridge to sort and keyword a pretty big photo archive. I have created a pretty long nested hierarchy (4 layers deep, max) and, for a few reasons, would like the parent tags to be automatically included when I indicate a sub-tag.  The problem I have now is that the keyword list is distractingly long and organized alphabetically. My first question is this: is there a preference setting in Bridge that will ask the program to display the keywords in their hierarchy? That is, will Bridge present the list as, for example, cars à hybrids à Toyotas à Prius.
My second question is: if I have two or more names that represent the same keyword, is there an “aka” function in this program that will allow me to direct searches for two or more different words to the same keyword entry? (For example, if I want my searches for “Bruce Wayne” to also show entries marked as “Batman.”)
Finally, I would like to know if Bridge will perform keyword searches for more than one word at a time. So far, I have tried entering two keywords with overlap at a time, separated by a space or a comma or a semicolon, and the search comes up empty.
Thank you very much for your help!

I reset my custom workspace and all seems to be well now. My keywords now show, the number of photos each applies to and I can again search.
    Thank you.

  • I can't find sweetim, but everytime I log out of Firefox and back on, it shows up as the default keyword search. How can I fix this!!!!!

I have checked my installed programs, the list of add ons on internet explorer and the one on Firfox, and cannot find sweetim. However, when I try to do a keyword search in the location bar, I am only able to do it twice, until I switch to a new tab. After that, the keyword search no longer works, and gives me a message saying that I haven't typed in the URL correctly or it doesn't exist. There seems to be some connection to www.amazon.com, because everytime I open a new tab and try to do a keyword search in the location bar, amazon.com moves to the top of the small search window, and google moves down. I cannot search in the small window when amazon.com is up, because it won't let me overwrite.
When I check the about:config, and reset to the defaults after 2 keyword test searches, it sets back to the sweetim.toolbar as the default again. I was just resetting Firefox, but I think I've done that 8 or 9 times now, and I still have the problem.
What should I do next to fix this?

    HI Noah:
Thanks for your answer. I'm working my way through the blog, and trying to take all of the steps. Hitman Pro did find 5 trojans, and many remnants of other malware, so hopefully that will help. I'll post again when I've finished trying everything else.
I had already run Malware Bytes, It did not find/remove the sweetim toolbar, but found a different trojan. Something is up with my antivirus I think.

  • Podcast not showing up in iTunes keyword search

    Hello, all -
    Podcast: Z.E.D.D. Radio
I asked Apple support for help with this, but they basically wrote back and gave me this forum URL.  Yes, there are other posts on this "keyword" topic, but they seem to be from 2012, and they didn't quite give me the info I was looking for.  Would anyone be willing to help me out?  I'm still kinda new at this, even though I've successfully posted 42 episodes of my podcast on iTunes already.  I feel I might be losing a large number of potential subscribers because the only way to find my podcast is from the name of the podcast itself, not keywords, and not many people are aware of my podcast.
Basically, I am using Google Feedburner with the Smartcast settings.  My show is hosted on Talkshoe.com.  A friend set up my podcast on iTunes for me last year, but I have total control of the Feedburner account.  I have only 7 keywords in Feedburner and the first one is "zombies."  The 2nd one "zombie."  I'm sure there are tons of zombie podcasts out there, but when I type "zombies" for a keyword search in iTunes, I'm shocked to see podcasts listed there that have nothing to do about the subject.  Worse, after a keyword search, I see shows listed that are not even running anymore.  It's like a podcast graveyard, but there is no sign of mine, which updates with a new episode every week.
Am I not submitting keywords correctly in my feed?  Is it based on popularity and number of reviews in iTunes?  I understand if my show can't compete with the big boys, but to have a podcast show up that has nothing to do with zombies while mine stays invisible (even though it's specifically about my keyword search), really baffles me.
Anyone willing to give me some insight with this?  Any help would be appreciated.  Just tell me what info or details you need.  Thanks!

    Thanks, Roger -
It seems to pull up every podcast with the word "zombie" in the title, and then displays some random podcasts that may or may not have anything to do with zombies.  I just figured that "zombie" is my one (and now only) keyword, I'd be in there somewhere.  Since I was not the one who initially submitted the podcast to iTunes, I have no idea what information was requested and entered at the time...or if that's even relevant.  What I do have control over is my source webhosting site (Talkshoe) and the Google Feedburner site, which I'm told is the only thing that matters, unless there was a keyword entry field specific to iTunes during the initial set-up I do not have access to.
It seems like I can enter keywords at Talkshoe (hosting site), and I can enter keywords on my Feedburner (RSS Feed).  I've read online that if the source has keywords, the feed keywords will be ignored.  They both have the same keywords, so I doubt that's the issue, but I've erased the source keywords and left the Feedburner ones.  I'll see if that changes anything when I upload my latest podcast.
Does iTunes ask for keywords during the initial iTunes application process that overrides everything?  If so, that my be my problem.  I have no idea what the guy who set up my podcast in iTunes wrote?  Is that part of the iTunes application process?
    Thanks again!

  • LR keyword search (coming from PSE Organizer 9)

I am using LR 4.1 RC2.  This morning using LR I upgraded my PSE Organizer 9 catalog.  It has about 50k photos with keywords and star ratings.  It seems like the upgrade worked because I can now see all my photos in LR and they have the keywords and star ratings.  Hurray!  I am having some trouble  figuring out how to do keyword searches in LR though so I hope someone can help.
In Organizer there are several ways to do keyword searchs:
    1.  Use the Keyword Tags panel and click on one or multiple keywords.  Organizer will then display only the photos that have all of the keywords, i.e., it uses AND.  This is very easy and is great for finding things very quickly when using one or more keywords.
    2.  Use Find > By Details (Metadata) which allows searching by multiple keywords and the choice of AND or OR.  You can also combine the keyword search with other metadata so that, for example, you can find all Bird photos taken in Florida using a Canon 7D + 100-400mm at ISO 400 in April 2011 that have 3 or more stars.  I use this option to search fairly often.
    3.  Use the Search bar and type in search expressions using NOT, AND, and OR.  I occasionally use this for complicated searches that #2 can't handle.  This is a pain in the butt to use since you must type everything out, but when #1 or #2 can't do it (which is rare) it is great to have this option too.
Several months ago I read on the PSE forum a thread about using Organizer and an Adobe developer recommended upgrading to LR since it was more flexible and meant for professionals and serious amateurs.  Therefore even though I have read the LR help info and can't find how to do sophisticated searches I am sure it is possible and I just haven't found it yet.  Here is what I have found so far:
    1.  Use the Keyword List panel where I can select only one keyword.
    2.  Use the Library Filter bar where I can do a ctrl-click on multiple keywords, but this results in an OR instead of AND.  In other words, if I click on Birds and then ctrl-click on Florida I get all bird photos and all Florida photos (the union, not the intersection).  This is probably almost never what a person wants.
I hope someone can tell me or point me to documentation so that I can at least do as much as the amateur Organizer can do.  Thank you!

John, thanks for the reply.  Yes, I am discovering that the amateur Organizer has much better searching capability than the professional Lightroom. I have already mentioned in my post the flexibility and power and Organizer is not even as good as some other programs.  I had spent time investigating LR, but mostly raw conversion and non-destructive editing.  I had, I think naturally, assumed that LR's database functions would be at least as good as the cheap Organizer.  I never dreamt that they would not be as good or as easy to use.  I sometimes wonder what happens in corporations when they seem to forget their own past and come out with new stuff that is a step or two backwards compared to their older, lower end stuff.  Oh well.
Thank you very much for the tip about having more than one instance of keywords in the filter bar.  That helps.
After I posted I discovered using Smart Collections and that helps a bit too.  It is sort of a cutdown, less user friendly version of the Find By Details (Metadata) function in Organizer.  It also means that for just a one time search I would have to create a smart collection and then delete it.  What's with that, I wonder?  Of course, if you often want to do that same search then it is good (Organizer allows you to save the search too), but most of the time I just do it one time.  Oh well.
I looked at the Any Tag plugin and also the Any Filter plugin (same website) and I might download them to try out.
What I would like for Adobe to do is have their LR developers (probably a more prestigious development team in the company) talk to their Organizer developers (maybe a less prestigious development team) so that the LR developers can learn a bit about this.  Yes, I have been a software developer for many years so I do understand a bit about development organizations.  LR and PS are standard bearing products so their teams probably are held in higher esteem.  Time to be humble and talk to other people though, IMO.
If any LR developers happen to read this then please know that I mean no offense.  But, please, at least, take a look at Organizer and see if you can come up with something simpler that requires less typing of multiple long keywords and more powerful searching using various types of metadata.  I am not saying Organizer is the best out there, but it is much better than LR in this case.

  • Couldnt work with multiple key fields in keyword search

    Hi,
I have some issue while working keyword search uder free form search in datamanager. in my repository i have two keyfields name(default field) and nation(lookup flat). but while working with keyword search if i pass any value that is comparing with only the values under keyfield name not comparing with other keyfield nation values. i am working with MDM 5.5 sp6. It would be appreciable if any one solve this issue.
    Regards
    Ravi

    Hi Ravi,
If you want to perform Keyword search for Nation field as well without changing it's field type; then plz follow these steps:
    1. Set the Keyword property for Nation Field as Normal in Main table.
    2. Now go to the lookup table to which Nation field is looking into (say the Lookup table name is Nations).
    3. Now set the Keyword property for Nation field as Normal in the lookup table (Nations table) as well.
    4. Go back to Main table and now perform Keyword search. This time it will perform the search on both the fields (i.e., Name as well as Nation).
Please let us know, if problem still persists.
    Regards,
    Varun
