CS3 Mac: Where Are Crash Reports?

Hello Forum,
Has anybody noticed where InDesign/InCopy CS3 create crash logs on Mac (release build)? If crashes happen seldom, it is hard to catch them using the debug build or gdb.
I have the "Developer" setting set in the CrashReporterPrefs, but it seems to be ignored as nothing appears in the CrashReporter log folder in Console. Will I have to press "Send to Adobe" in the crash report dialog and intercept network traffic? Is there a simpler way? I beleive I must have overlooked something really simple...
Thanks,
Pavel.

  • FSG using Report Manger - Where are the reports stored?

I am able to configure the FSG in GL, and use Report Manager to produce PDF/Excel output.
Where are these reports physically stored? Are they in a database or in a file system? If so, what is the location?
    Thanks.

    hi,
Starting 11i, the reports are stored in table FND_LOBS and some relevant Entries are made in the FND_DOCUMENTS_TL table.
The packages used for storing and retrieving the reports are FND_DOCUMENTS_PKG and ADI_DISPLAY_REPORT.
RG_REPORT_REQUEST_LOBS stores the XML output associated with each Financial Statement Generator request that is run in XML mode.
The XML output is used for drilldown purposes.

  • Where are the reports generated by Setup Manager ????

The funny thing about Setup manager is that it seems there is nothing to view the reports generated ....
after defining a project including an extraction then a report on this extract then execute it .... evrything end without errors but where are the reports ????
i've checked my project : no buttons or link to see the reports ...
i've checked the log of the execution : no report. the only things is the really nice and useful message 'file transfer done ...'
i've even checked EBS but no report
I've checked also the jobs in OEM: nothing
how can i get the reports generated and view their content ????

Click on View Executions link of project you executed (Here you can see all the executions related to that project. (Setup Manager -> Project -> View Executions)) -> Now Click on the execution name(Here you can see all the tasks of that project) -> Here Download link will be available if the task gets completed successfully

  • Finder thinks .wav files are "Crash Reporter"?

I have a new MacBook Pro. I wanted to change my .wav files from opening with iTunes to open with QuickTime. I was confused when it asked if I wanted to "change all your Crash Reporter documents to open with QuickTime". Is that a bug? Why would it think a .wav file is a Crash Reporter?
Also, this support section of apple.com *****. If I start a new discussion without being logged in, it loses whatever I typed after it prompts me to log in. It has done that since I started posting here in 2008. And there is an option to update my products before I post, but after I edit my product everything I had typed is gone! So annoying.

Probably because someone in the past did what you are doing, but told it to open the files in CrashReporter.
Another possibility is the LaunchServices database has been corrupted.
My Mac thinks they are all music files.
Does it not stick when you tell it to open in iTunes?

  • Where are Hyperion Reports 7.2 e-mails addresses stored?

In Hyperion Reports 7.2, where are the e-mail addresses that you select to send output stored?<BR>Is there a way to export/import a list?<BR><BR>We just upgraded from Reports 2.6 and the users are complaining that the list has been wiped out.<BR><BR>Regards,<BR>Tom M.<BR>[email protected]<BR>Essbase 6.5.7<BR>

Will,<BR><BR>Go to \\Hyperion\HyperionReports\lib\hr_global.properties on your report server. Open the file in a text editor and look for the SMTP settings section. There you should put the name or IP Address of the SMTP server. Restart your report services and you should be set to go. As far as the sending email account, from the Hyperion client, go into Preferences and input the email address you want to send with in the "Your email address" field. Now that will take care of sending emails from the client. If you plan to send reports via email from a batch file, it will default to a system account for the email, most email systems will not allow this so you will have to code the sending email address into your XML file used to send the batch. This is not overly obvious as the SENDER tag is not one of the defaults (don't ask me why) you need to go through the doc for an example or if you need one, send me an email and I can forward a sample to you.<BR><BR>HTH

  • Transferring photos from ipad2 to mac - where are photos?

I took my ipad2 on vacation and used the camera connection kit (CCK?) to download my SD cards. (many people, many cameras)
I used iPhoto to transfer my photos to my mac but can't find them anywhere except within iPhoto.
On my pc, the photos are treated as individual files that you can move around, rearrange and duplicate.
Where are the individual photos on my mac? Finder shows the images in iPhoto Library, but I can't manipulate it at all.

You can export them out of iPhoto.

  • How/Where are Financial Reports Saved on the File System of the Server?

We've recently lost a large chunk of our reports on our server. We can't figure out which directory location to restore in order to get those reports back. Where is the default directory for 11.1.2.2 Financial Reports? And in what format are those reports saved?

The FR reports themselves are found in the Operating System (O/S) file system, but the EPM Workspace heirarchy (folders, tree, etc) are stored in the Hyperion BI+ repository database.
On the O/S file system, the reports are stored in RM1 folder under "C:\oracle\Middleware\user_projects\epmsystem1\ReportingAnalysis\data\RM1\root" folder.
The names of the reports located here are UUID (long identifiers - not the actual names).
    For example:
when a report is created with the name"My report" in the Financial Reporting Studio, when logging into EPM Workspace it will be accessible within Financial Reports/folder name where it was saved.
the actual report will be stored in a sub-folder of the RM1\root folder on file system.
The name of the file will be a unique identifier (not the actual name of the report i.e. "My report")
It will be generated "on the fly" based on various things such as the current date and time on the server (i.e 0000012f5af72b1a-0000-ec71-c0a8006c.00000130510b77bb-0000-5133-c0a8006c.1)
The meta-data for that report ("My report", that is in the folder in Workspace, the modification date of the report, the permissions on that report, etc.) will be stored in the Hyperion BI+ DB as an object in an encrypted table. Financial Reporting knows what meta-data is in the Hyperion BI+ DB that matches the report, in the "RM1\root" folder because all the rows in the table for this object in the Hyperion BI+ DB that are related to "My report" will be referenced using the UUID of the file (e.g. 0000012f5af72b1a-0000-ec71-c0a8006c.00000130510b77bb-0000-5133-c0a8006c.1)
Note: The location of RM1 folder differs with each installations' operating system.

  • Learning to use a Mac- where are the video tutorials?

I am an old PC user, converting to this sleek machine after loving my iphone. but I am really struggling to understand all the new conventions, keystrokes, and shortcuts. I can't even really understand safari- there is no "web address" window at the top, so I go to google for everything.
Are there not video tutorials somewhere on my machine? reading the articles is hard to do if I don't see the interface.

  • Outlook 2011 for Mac: where are 'Suggested Contacts'?

    Hello,
    I have a MacBook Air 1st Generation (A1237), with OS.X 10.6.8 (Snow Leopard).
Have installed MS Office, including Outlook 2011 and everything works fine.
However, I don't see the 'Suggested Contacts' folder in Outlook.
Auto-complete works fine, but I would like to add to my contacts some of the addresses I find when auto-complete makes suggestions.
I looked everywhere, but I can't find the Suggested Contacts folder or the list of addresses auto-complete retrieves from.
Can you help? Is it an issue with my 'vintage' Mac?
    Thanks!

Thanks Julian for the suggestion. Unfortunately all still checked out and nothing amiss. However, after reinstalling OS 10.6.8 it appears that my calendar items are syncing once again, but not my contacts. I appreciate the suggestion none the less.
This same thing seems to happen each time I've upgraded Office with the associated version of Entourage, and now Outlook. Ah, well..nothing's ever simple. But I am thoroughly enjoying Outlook and the rest of the Office suite.

  • Where are my Report Classes (C# classes corresponding to my RPTs)?

In almost all samples I downloaded from BO, there is one ".cs" file that corresponds to an ".rpt" file. This c# file has an autogenerated header. and there are two classes in it. One with identical name to the report and one with the same name but "Cached" in front of it. For instance:
        public class Customer : ReportClass {
       [System.Drawing.ToolboxBitmapAttribute(typeof
    (CrystalDecisions.Shared.ExportOptions), "report.bmp")]
public class CachedCustomer : Component, ICachedReport
When I add a CrystalReports report to my asp.net project, i just get an ".rpt" file.
What are the ramifications of not having these classes? Does the 'cached" class help with me performance?
    thanks
    jeff

there should be no problems with the missing class files.  They will only exist in Windows applications or web applications migrated from VS2003 or earlier.  VS2005 does not generate these files for web applications.  All they did was allow you to reference the report as a strongly-typed report (ie: dim myrpt as new SalesReport() )   in your application and the report would be embedded in the application.
With VS2005 and higher web applications, you must load the reports from disk using
    ReportDocument.Load(pathToReport).
the Cached report class would only help if you had a massive report (hundreds of pages) that took a long time to return.  this report would also have to be shareable (ie all users see exactly the same data).  The downside is that it would occupy a chunk of memory on the server for an extended period of time.

  • DW CS3 Mac suddenly starts crashing

All of a sudden (of course in the middle of a big job) DW CS3
    has started crashing on startup.
I can get the File Manager to display but if I try to access
any menu item or open any document, the program quits.
Of course, I am away from home without my installer disk.
    HELP!!!
    Peter

That's the extremely frustrating thing. My external HD corrupted a short while ago and couldn't be fixed (it was out of warranty). I've only just been around to set up a new one with it being a busy time of year. So therefore I had no current backup at the one time when I actually needed a backup. So therefore: No backup.
I've checked to see if anything else vital is missing but it's not. I guess I won't know unless anything else goes awry.
Is there no way to just obtain this VersionCue component individually?

  • Photoshop CS3 Mac-Files are rewriting themselves... Help!

    Hello Everyone,
I'm hoping someone could shed some light on an issue I've been having over the past few days.
So I'm in photoshop doing my usual adjustments, when I go to save the file it saves a totally different image than the one I'm working on. So the thumb of the file isn't the actual file, it's a totally different one.
Today I was working in InDesign and when I opened a project (That I preflight and packaged at the end of the previous day) InDesign said that there were missing and modified links. I thought this was strange. So when I updated the photoshop files in the InDesign document, the files were completely different ones than the day previous. >:S
I don't know if this makes sense to anyone, because I'm sure confused. If anyone out there has some insight, that would be awesome! Thank you for taking the time to read my forum.
    Kind Regards

You have given us no details. My guess is you are looking at Bridge in CS3 which had a spurious thumbnail and preview bug that was never fixed.
If you open the file in Photoshop or InDesign, you will see it is in fact the correct image; only the thumbnail and the preview are wrong.
To correct this, change your Bridge preferences to UNcheck High-quality Previews, quit and relaunch Bridge, then use the Tools menu in Bridge to Purge the Cache for each offending folder, one by one. DO NOT use the global Purge Cache command in Bridge preferences.
Unfortunately, in CS3 you have to choose the lesser of two evils: either spurious thumbnails and previews or soft previews.
CS3 will not be fixed. This particular bug was fixed in CS4.
You are not addressing Adobe here, we're all users just like you.
