CS3 Overlapping graphics flash

On a Mac. I have placed about 8 graphics on a page and some overlap.  Using Ojects/arrange I have them the way I want.  But the parts that overlap will flash between what is on top and the next picture below.  Back and fourth.  If I zoom in or reset to 100% sometimes this will cause some of the overlapped areas to stop flashing but it is just as likely to start another overlap area to begin flashing.  Certainly not consistant.  I know the graphics are fine and will output fine but as I work on the page the flashing is a pain.
Second question - all graphics are 300 dpi.  If I zoom in on an area sometimes these graphics appear very clean and correct, but other times they show as pixeled, the clean lines gone.  Again, I know the graphics will output just fine but why do they appear clean at one zoom leval and very bad at some other zoom?  And this is not consistent - at one point the clean look for a specific graphic will show up with the pixel look the next time

Didnt help, still crashes, works fine under code view, but on
design view it
crashes.

  • Dreamweaver CS3 Image Viewer Flash Element

Here at Cleveland State University, I offer basic training
classes for most Adobe products. We are in the middle of a complete
    overhaul of the
    http://www.csuohio.edu space. Our
goal to is to create an attractive, website with a consistent look
and feel that makes it easier for our faculty and staff to update
on a more frequent basis. In doing so, we have created a series of
pages that can be easily edited in Dreamweaver CS3. One item we
would like to fully support is the DW CS3 Image Viewer - Flash
Element. However, we have hit a small layout snag.
On the main pages of most college and departmental sites, a
specific space with a finite size is set on a web page for the
image viewer. A site editor then creates images in Photoshop that
are that exact size. The image viewer element is configured to be
that exact size as well. Furthermore, the picture "frame", title,
caption and controls are hidden in the Flesh Element panel.
However, when the page is previewed either in Dreamweaver or in a
browser, the images have been shrunk. There is always a border,
whether it is white or some other color. I assume the color is the
stage color of the Flash .swf file. This causes a misalignment of
the images and the other text.
Another issue is the links that automatically created. Some
of our editors have asked me why, even though they specifically
leave the imageLinks area blank, links seem to be created pointing
    to the Adobe.com website.
My questions: is there no way to force the Flash element to
respect the size of the pictures so that no border is showing? Is
there no way to leave the Im
I've done a search on the Adobe.com support site and on the
web and noted that several people have posted questions concerning
this. Unfortunately, no one seems to know what to do about it.
I can send links if you would like to see an example. I'd
greatly appreciate any help you can give me.

I'm just a user, like you. And I'd rather you not send things
    directly to
me unless I request you to do this. If you have a problem
    that cannot be
solved here, then your next option would be to contact Adobe
    Tech Support
directly. I'm not very familiar with the Flash side of DW, so
    I cannot be
of much help in this regard.

  • Flash CS3 Save As Flash 5?

My son is taking a Flash class at the local college. The lab
computers all run Flash 5. We have installed Flash Professional CS3
on his computer (Win XP). He would like to edit .fla files at home
and still be able to use them in class.
Unfortunately, the only option in the "Save As..." dialogue
is for Flash 8 format, which he could not open in Flash 5.
"Export..." offers a number of options, none of them .fla. Of
course we can "Publish..." Flash 5 Player-compatible .swf files,
but that's not going to help him edit.
So, is there anyway to save a Flash 5 .fla file from the
    current version of Flash?
Alternatively, is there anyway to obtain a licensed copy of
    Flash 5?
    Thanks in advance.

That's going to be tough. :( As you've seen, CS3 saves to
    Flash 8. If
you happen to have a copy of Flash 8, you'll find it saves
    back to Flash MX
2004 (aka 7), and so on. It's possible to save a CS3 FLA file
    back to Flash
5, but you have to have access to each version of the IDE
    back to Flash MX
    (aka 6).
    > Alternatively, is there anyway to obtain a licensed copy
    of Flash 5?
I suppose it's *possible* you might find something on eBay
    or the like,
but used software purchases often raise a few red flags. If
    you search
around, it might be possible to find an old trial version ...
    the kind that
dies after 30 days. That might be the best you can do.
I'm actually kind of wincing that a college is still
    training people on
Flash 5. So much has changed, much of the training may not be
    useful. (I
realize I'm likely preaching to the choir.)

  • Ti4200 / FSB217 Graphics Flashes

I really, really need help on this one after have being at it for over one week now. Anyway, here goes:
The probem is graphics flashes and short spikes on my screen during gameplay and especially during the Dragothic test in 3Dmark01. The problem appears when I up the FSB to above 210MHz. I cannot get rid of this.
Here is what I have tested:
    DOT off, always.
Memory @ 2.5-3-3-7 verified OK in Memtest86. Memory @ 3-4-4-8-4 also tested without success.
    CPU verified OK @ 3.05MHz/FSB217/1.52V with Prime95 (61degC)
Performance = SLOW, tried Fast/Turbo/Ultra Turbo (hangs)
    Nvidia drivers 53.03 & 45.23 (current) tested.
AGP locked to 66/33 @ 1.5V, verified in ClockGen OK
Chipset driver is 5.0.0.1002 (Chipset 82865G/PE-AGP controller)
    Chipset driver is 5.0.1006.0 (82801EB-PCI)
IL-2 Sturmovik tested in OpenGL & DirectX with same artifacts
    Unreal Tournament 2004 IS FINE @ FSB217!!!!!
Fast Writes tested OFF - same problems
BIOS upgrade from 1.4-1.9 - same problems
    Aperture tested: 64MB & 128MB - same problems
PCI latency = 32CLK, tested 64CLK: huge graphics problems
Graphics card tested @default settings, under- & overclocked - same problems
Some notes: the BIOS always shows exactly 66.66/33.33 Mhz for the AGP/PCI settings regardless of FSB setting from 200-217MHz. Should it not differ slightly?
My feeling is that the AGP is being overclocked, but ClockGen says 66.7. Can I trust this?
Next candidate for the fault is PSU Wattage... anyone have solid info here?
Then there is the Northbridge @ 56degC idle. Is this too much? CPU idle is 41degC. CoreCenter fan settings @ auto. The sidepanel fan blows inwards, as does the rear case fan to let the air out of the front to keep the HDD @ 32degC (HDD=39degC if reversed & CPU 3-4degC cooler)
I must sat that it seems like the problem gets worse the higher the FSB. @205 there are no artifacts @210 some, @217 frequent. BUT this can be caused by ALL the abovementioned candidates, so I need some advice here... please?

Hello, cnotemd... I was unsure if anyone cared about this problem due to its low participation in this forum so I had almost decided to leave it be. Anyway, here goes:
First of all a Huge thanks to OCZGUY2 in UK for letting me understand what the problem really is. Since the 865PE is basically an 875 that has not passed the screening at the Intel fab, some of the 865PE's are liable to get graphics problems. Actually the number is 3% I am told. And I am one of the unlucky 3% that has this issue. I am positive that this is not a RAM problem. I thought that this was a OCZ+865PE problem but there are several postings with other mem-brands that have the same issue. Next this problem is also on some of the ASUS P4P800 boards that also have the 865PE. I have a strong perception that if you have this problem you are basically stuck and have to make do with what you have got. This is based on the fact that these IC's have a statisitical distribution of the internal timings (clock skew, jitter and so on) and that if you have this problem there is probably no Magic solution for this. However I am told that it might have been possible to make a fix for this in BIOS, but no-one cares for the simple reason that it would be a performance degrading update (the mfg's don't like that). Next it only happens on a small portion of the PCBs and where they definitely are driven out of spec by the users (remember, they most probably don't GUARANTEE the OC-performance, just the 200FSB (correct me if I am wrong)).
Next on what to do. As I see it you have three options:
    1) No overclock, FSB200. No fun either.
    2) Overclock when rendering video (which I need the speed for). Awkward, but doable.
I did the following which is a surprisingly good compromise:
    3) Overclock the CPU to the max, and underclock the RAM with tight timings
    Details, BIOS:
    RAM timings: 2-3-3-7-8
    DOT: Disabled
    Perfomance: Ultra Turbo
    DRAM frq: 333MHz (for underclocking)
    CPU Bus: 223 (=3.12GHz )
    AGP: 66/33
    CPU Core: 1.525V
    DDR:2.70V
    AGP:1.60V
The equivalent RAM bus speed is therefore 178.4MHz. Standard is of course 200MHz, while max is 233 for this RAM so I am running @ 77% of max. I am able to run Ultra Turbo in this setup. At std. or OC'd bus speeds UT was not possible on my setup.
    Some benchmarks:
    3DMark03: 1842 @GPU=305MHz/592MHz (Very good for a Ti4200)
    3Dmark01: 13450
Sandra men BW: 4550/4560. Don't know if this is good or bad. Anyone?
Compared to previous benches, there is absolutely NO difference in gaming performance while underclocking the RAM. Actually underclocking raised my 3DMark01 score from 13100-13400, but 2.7% is not what I regard as significant. The performance being unchanged is valid for my Ti4200 graphics card and I am not sure if you would see any difference on a high-end card, either.
Note that I am not able to obtain more than 223-228FSB when OC'd. I have left it at 223FSB for margin when summer comes+ageing.
The reason why I got this mobo was for its good reviews and I DID a lot of checking before buying. In hindsight, though, I ought to have opted for a 875 chipset mobo, and I have asked and actually was recommended an ASUS P4C800E (by someone whos opinion is worth listening to) as currently the best (sorry, MSI  ) mobo for my needs ie. overclocking. I don't know what the MSI equivalents are like, but as an electronics designer I can assure you all that the workmanship on my board is excellent.
    So what next?
Well, this is the end of the line for me on this setup. Buying a new mobo is the next thing to do, buying cheap RAM + a lowest garde P4 to put on my FIS2R board and stuffing this into my second PC (which is currently a PIII).
For a P4P800 graphics artifacts survey look here:
    http://www.abxzone.com/forums/showindex.php?s=&threadid=62275
And here is an interesting thread related to AGP aperture and artifacts:
    http://www.abxzone.com/forums/showindex.php?s=0d82d5f96db176342b3238ecaca4810f&threadid=67519&perpage=15&pagenumber=1
I have tried adjusting the aperture without luck. However it seems there is correlation between aperture size and artifacts. Unfortunately performance is also affected. If anyone could tell me a BIOS combination that works (related to the aperture) please tell me.

PS. this is for those who bothered to read the whole posting: another thing that I have seen on this forum that kinda makes me shake my head is the Attention to Insignificant Details. In particular thermally conductive paste. This stuff is supposed to be applied in a very thin layer (but still enough to make a complete thermal contact between the two surfaces), and it is the fact that the layer is thin that makes it the LEAST significant in the chain die-case-paste-fin-fan. Although the thermal conductivity is low (3-9W/m-K) compared to aluminium (240W/m-K) and copper (420W/m-K) the layer is so thin that the thermal resistance is a don't care issue. One day I will post a technical/mathematical elaboration on this topic.
Note that I am NOT talking about application ease/glueing effects related to paste which is also important if planning to change heatsinks a lot (but who does?). This is also important when choosing paste. (this was a long postscript)

  • Why cant i work with CS3 programs exept flash?

hi all here - i am new
I tried captivate, because I thougt it would be a tool to
make screen recordings for e-learning. Like to explain people how
to use a software or a backoffice.
But I am getting frustrated now.
I cannot export anything except flash. But I dont wann use
    flash. What for?
I am not doing Powerpoint crab.
I bought the "master collection CS3" and didn´t find a
    program to make screen recordings.
So I was searching for a software compatible to my CS3 suite.
But I cannot work with those files in Soundbooth, Premiere
    Pro of after effects.
I would like to clean the sound and convert the file in
different file formats with the media encoder.
So for what do I really need Captivate if it doesn´t
work together with the other programs?
Is there annother software from Adobe to help me?

Hi Pedro Hofmann and welcome to our community
As you have seen, Captivate is not part of the CS3 suite. It
IS however, part of a different suite. One that is known as
the "Technical Communication Suite" or TCS. That particular suite
contains Framemaker, Acrobat Pro 3D, Captivate and RoboHelp.
Captivate does indeed create e-learning. However, it is a
slide based system similar to PowerPoint. But the end result is
something that is often referred to as a "movie". If you record in
Demonstration mode, it is played back without pausing and with
mouse movements and whatnot. The illusion is that you end up with a
    full motion video.
Yes, the output is Flash based. In other words, it relies on
the Flash Player (in the web Browser typically) to present your
output to the user. This is largely because the Flash Player is so
pervasive and has deep penetration. Something like 98-99% of the
browsers in use are "Flash Capable". This is a good thing, as it
means that you don't have too many concerns with ensuring a
specific player or viewer is installed.
    Captivate
can be exported to Flash for further or more detailed
tweaking. But it's not yet perfect. One may wonder why it's not
"quite there yet". And for those folks, it's good to keep in mind
that Adobe didn't create Captivate and hasn't had it all that long.
Adobe got Captivate when they acquired Macromedia. And Macromedia
only had it a very short time. They acquired it from eHelp
corporation. And eHelp corporation acquired it from the original
owners and creators. That company was Nexus Concepts.
    Hopefully this helps... Rick

  • Import photoshop CS3 layers into Flash CS5?

Does anyone know if you can import photoshop layers from CS3 into Flash CS5? I am looking to get Flash CS5 for my Win 7 but am worried I won't be able to use it with all my CS3 photoshop work.  Has anyone had experience with this and can tell me one way or the other if it does or doesn't work.  I know CS5 has LOTS of backward compatibility problems.
    Thanks.

Yes, save the photoshop file as a .ps file and then import it in Flash. You will get pretty much the same import options window that you saw in Flash CS3.

  • CS3 automated gallery - Flash  Player 10 detection issue

I have been searching for answers to this and found nothing. Anyone know how to solve the FP 10 detection issue with the PS CS3 automated flash galleries. Right now it will not detect FP 10 and thinks there is no player. I know there are changes to detection methods but, I'm not much of a programmer and I've tried to implement SWFObject but, no luck. Any enlightenment would be appreciated. Save me re-creating please! I'd rather not have to upgrade my software.

    Hi,
I am having the same problem... did you have any luck fixing this issue?
    Any help would be awesome.
    Thanks.

  • CS3 Overlapping fill in one object cancels out the fill color, how do I fix this?

I have a closed object filled with black which overlapps itself, this overlapp as we all know turns white. How do I get rid of this "white" area in the overlap?
I am fairly proficient in llustrator CS3, but can't figure this out.

Thank You Wade, and Doug! Both your answers fixed my dilemma. I've never worked with the Attributes Panel before, and therefore my default was set to " Use Even-Odd Fill Rule" In Freehand, this wasn't an issue for me. This just saved me TONS of time! And, no I don't actually want to make it a compound path, not for my use. I knew it had to be a simple fix, but without the proper terms, I was lost even using the "help" in Illustrator. WooHoo!

  • IWeb and graphics/Flash?

Ok, so i'm working on making a website for my company and i wanted to know if there was any way to put moving graphics on it. something like flash or along those lines. is there a program, or just easy steps to accomplish this?

If you already have a flash presentation or graphic ready to go, you may be able to embed it into a page that you create in iWeb. It will most likely (unless your presentation is Flash 5 based) require editing the HTML code that is generated from iWeb. There is no way to create such a presentation in iWeb directly.

  • Photoshop CS3 export to Flash CS3

I have checked the adobe site, and the lynda.com site and
still can't find a way to export from Photoshop CS3 to Flash CS3 so
that all of the layers are imported into flash on individual
layers. I have found how to do it with CS2 using imageready but
that is no longer an option in CS3. Can anyone help? I have a flash
project on hold because of this one.
    Thank you...

I have tried saving the file from Photoshop CS3 as a PSD and
then importing it into Flash CS3. You get all the layers but not
the drop shadows. The drop shadows are there but as a part of what
ever they are shadowing, they are not a separate layer. Also using
CS2 and Imageready I could get the layers to be named the same as
my file name automatically so each layer would end up with a unique
name instead of layer1 and layer2. Is there still a way to do it
the way we used to or something similar so that everything is on
its own layer including drop shadows and the layers in flash are
automatically named for you on import?

  • Problem Update Flash CS3 (9) to Flash C3 (9.02)- MAC OS X Tiger

    Hi everybody,
I am on MAC OS X Tiger. My flash is version 9.0 (CS3) and the
software is install in the default configuration
    (/Applications/Adobe Flash CS3/...).
My problem is the update for Flash CS3 to get the 9.02
    version works wrongly.
I doubleclick on it. I write my request password to install
software or update (It's own to MAC).
And then the Installer tells me that there is an Error
because it didn't find the location of my software.
Is there any thing that I can do to help the updater to find
the good place ? Is there manual installer ? Which file is corrupt
I can remove and install again the software because I am
temporary in Singapore and my DVD is in France.
I am open to any suggestion.
    Xeonarno

By abnormally shutting down the OS X partition has most likely gotten scrambled. You will have to reformat that volume and reinstall OS X.
Since OS 9 is working you may still be able to copy your personal files to an external drive so they won't be lost.

  • Mac mini 2011 discrete graphics - flashing display (hp2207h model)

Has anybody experienced a flashing display immediately after power on and throughout the boot with hdmi?  I currently have this problem with an HP 2207h display.  If others see this with other types of monitors, please reply as well.  If anybody has a solution, feel free to reply.
For my testing, the hdmi cable is a known working cable, and the hp display works fine with wintel pc (bios and OS)...no flashing.
My mac mini is the 2011 model with discrete ati graphics.

The graphics on the mini are integrated on the logic board, in a similar manner to your iMac. If the video circuitry 'breaks', you'd have to replace the logic board.
The Mac Pro is the only current mac that has a separate video card. All others are integrated on the logic board. Have you considered a refurbished Mac Pro? There are currently 6 available in the US Apple online store: http://store.apple.com/us/browse/home/specialdeals/mac?mco=OTY2ODY3Nw
Nobody here knows Apple's release plans, and speculating is against the rules. You might see what this site has to say: http://buyersguide.macrumors.com/#Mac_Pro
If you buy a system with integrated graphics on the logic board, you might consider Applecare to at least cover you for 3 years.

  • Open a CS3 fla with Flash CS5

I'm not sure this is the right forum, so if the admin want to put this tread in the right place, please, do it!
I'm going to buy a site template provided with fla source, but it is developed in CS3.
Do you know if there are same problem opening and modifing this kind of fla with Flash CS5?
    Thanks in advance.

there is no problem opening fla files, made with earlier versions of flash pro, in later flash pro versions (except for as2 containing files and flash pro after cs6).
    so, you're ok.
except, and this is an excerpt from a book i wrote (Flash Game Development: In a Social, Mobile and 3D World),
Spreading code across more than one frame of a timeline and especially in more than one timeline is a time-wasting mess and strongly discouraged. Anyone who has ever worked on a Flash file with significant bits of code spread over more than one timeline more than a few weeks after creating that code understands the incredible amount of time that can be wasted looking for pertinent code.
The worst offenders that I have seen (and I have seen hundreds of problematic Flash projects), in the highly competitive worst Flash coding derby, are templates sold by websites like http://www.entheosweb.com/. Do not be fooled into thinking you can get a head-start on a project by starting with a web template offered for sale. There may be some well-coded templates sold online but I have never seen one.
