CS3 Premium - Windows 8.1

Buongiorno ho una licenza Adobe CS3 Premium. Dovrei cambiare sistema operativo e passare a Windows 8.1. Posso mantenere la stessa licenza o devo fare un upgrade del prodotto Adobe? Windows 8.1 è compatibile con CS3 Premium? Grazie ciao :-)

but it is compatible with windows 8.1, the real issue is how to install it. I keep getting "Installer Corrupt, contact Adobe Customer Service" which of course are good for nothing.  Any help is greatly appreciated.

  • Design Premium CS3 for windows Want to download Design Premium CS3 for MAC instead

I have design premium CS3 for windows.  My Windows machine is dying and I have a MAC now.  I'd like to download design premium CS3 for the MAC and abandon my licenses on the Windows machine, then pick it up on the MAC.  Is that possible?

Not any more. Only CS6 is eligible for the PC to Mac swap. If you do not want to buy that all over again, the $50 monthly Creative Cloud is the best way.

  • Full Steps to run CS3 in Windows 7

How to run CS3 in Windows 7....Full Steps
How to work with old software in Windows 7 Ultimate.....(That is the software that I used for Adobe CS3 and it worked beautifully. Other versions may be slightly different, but in general, the same steps apply.)
Note: This is written with the issue of Windows 7 will not run software designed for XP or Vista.
    What you will need:
If you have Windows7 Home or Home Premium, you MUST upgrade to Windows 7 Professional, or Windows 7 Ultimate or Windows 7 Enterprise.
Otherwise, you will be wasting your time and money trying to figure out how to do it with other processes.
If you need a good software to partition your hard drive, to run other types of operating systems, I recommend Paragon Partition Manager 10.0 Professional, but for Windows 7, you will not need it.
What you will need, after upgrading your computer and operating system to the one's listed above is two downloads from Microsoft.
The first download: XP Mode Software
The second download: Virtual PC Software
This link and address will take to you to Microsoft to first run a system check to see if your software and hardware are compatible and able to run the additional needed software.
    http://www.microsoft.com/windows/virtual-pc/download.aspx
This page will run the needed test to see if your system is compatible to run the next steps.
Once your computer passes the compatibility tests, it will then present you with two links to download the necessary software for Windows 7 to operate in XP Mode for your older software.
    Installation:
Download and install 1st: XP Mode
Download and install 2nd: Virtual PC
Once installed, restart your computer and if needed, you will need to get into the BIOS to turn on Virtualization Technology.
This next step is based on the HP Pavillion Elite e9260f PC. Your system may be different, but these instructions will follow based on the system above and Windows 7 Ultimate.
On the first start up page, you have options at the bottom to get into the BIOS.....F10 is the option to stop startup and enter the BIOS.
Move over to Power Options and you'll see Virtualization Technology.
Arrow down to that setting and hit Enter. A small window will open with Disable and Enable.
Choose Enable and then F10 to save and exit.
Then let the computer go through the start up process again, all the way to Windows Desktop.
Once you are up and running, Go to Programs through the Start button.
Click the folder named: Virtual PC
Then click on : XP Mode to finish setting up. (this process is literally setting up an XP Operating system, so follow the instructions it offers carefully.)
Once the setup is complete, you will be given a User Name and a choice of a password. With this mode, you must enter a password.
The next window to appear will be for XP Updates. Turn that on for a very smooth setup for the rest of the process.
Once this is done, then you will see the setup process taking place.
When XP Mode finishes installing, it will ask about the settings for Virus Protection, just click that you will manage the virus protection yourself.
Then, you are set up with XP and are now able to install Adobe CS3 software and other to work with.
The internet works with the XP Mode desktop, but virus protection is possibly not enabled on the XP Mode, so I recommend not using the internet through XP Mode to search the web. Use Windows 7 for that.
When setting up CS3, disable your antivirus software to prevent any conflicts while loading.
Put your CS3 disk in the disk drive and instead of letting it run automatically in Windows 7, on the Start button of XP Mode, go to and click RUN.
Click Browse for the DVD-CD and then Explore the disk for the Autorun file.
Then you will be presented with the Adobe install window and just follow the instructions for Adobe from there.
It may ask for the RAM to be at a minimum of 1GB. Just ignore this for now and you can make adjustments later, within the software.
Once Adobe CS3 has finished loading, it will may ask for a restart.
Close the XP Mode Window at the X and it will then say, "Going into Hibernate."
Do a shutdown or restart in Windows 7 and then go to Programs and choose, Virtual PC, click on XP Mode and it will then open the XP mode again.
Go to the Start button to Programs, Choose your Adobe CS3 program and go to work!!
    You're Done!!!
All old software that you were working with before, will operate the very same as it did when it was on a straight XP or Vista computer.
Hope this helps and after finally getting all this information, which did not come with my new computer, it was a VERY SMOOTH transition.
    Enjoy!!! and you are welcome....
    The Cajun Lady

I don't quite understand your question....The issue before was that Photoshop CS3 will not run
in Windows 7 as a stand alone program, making it necessary to have Windows XP Mode to run it.
They said here at Adobe that the CS4 upgrade and stand alone software was designed to run in Windows 7, but CS3 was not and would not be changed, that the only option was to upgrade to CS4.
I felt that was a little unfair to the one's that got CS3 in the past year and from what I understand, CS5 will be coming out soon.
This doesn't particularly apply to Adobe, but to other software as well.  I had read that iTunes will not work in windows 7 and has to have XP Mode to run.  There was an issue that I read in a forum about the "Bonjour" file had a conflict with the systems folders and I experienced the issue of it causing my registry to drop out with each shutdown.
Once removed, drivers and software had to be reinstalled and activated, only to have it do it again for the required shutdowns during setup.
Once I upgraded to Windows 7 Ultimate, and removing Bonjour from the system, the problem went away and I haven't had to reinstall anything since.
So that is something to also think about, before trying to upload any software that is related to Apple/Mac on the Windows 7 platform.  If it has to use the Bonjour file, you will be much better off to upload directly to XP Mode instead, as there are no issues with XP.
Basically, it's a "trial and error" process to see what works and what won't within Windows 7.  All the information is brand new to me and so I'm still asking questions myself.
    Thanks for asking.

  • Can't install CS3 on Windows 7

I know there's a similar discussion in this section, but I'm having slightly different issues with my version. I'm not sure if this makes a difference, but I bought my copy of CS3 (Design Premium) used via Amazon.
There are a couple different things going on. First, while I understand that this software takes up a lot of space and will require some time to install, mine is taking an exceedingly long time. I've left the computer running for hours - as in 5 or 6 or more. The place it gets stuck is the installation progress window - those progress bars do not move the entire time, and I also notice the disk drive stops making noise, so absolutely nothing gets installed and no progress toward installation happens.
Also, I did have CS3 on the computer previously as a trial version (I did not enter a serial number) and uninstalled it once the trial ended, so I still have the downloaded setup/installer and I tried using that, assuming I can just enter the serial number included in the purchased version. I get told the serial number is invalid...though that may be because the previous version was the full suite and I just kept a couple programs. When I installed CS3 that last time, I don't even think it took an hour to install (I only installed Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, and Flash). So I have no clue why it won't install now. Note I uninstalled the old version before trying to install the new one, mostly because I couldn't run any of the programs.
I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. The computer is not very old - only about 4 months old, no viruses, not used much, so there shouldn't be anything going on to interfere with installation. Also, I did get CS3 for Windows, so the OS is not the issue either. Is the fact that my version is pre-owned a potential cause for problems? Like maybe the previous owner never deactivated the software before selling it? Are the previous version and current version somehow conflicting with one another despite uinstalling?

Run the Creative Suite Cleaner Tool, try again. and if you bought it used, you will have to run a Transfer an Adobe product license to handle activations properly.

  • Mac CS3 For Windows CS3!?

    Hello!
I recently sold my Macbook Pro and have a now useless fully licensed CS3 production-premium for Mac, and need to trade it for CS3 PP, Windows!
If anyone out there is interested in a trade?... you can reach me: [email protected]
I would be willing to trade the whole suite just for PS, AE, and Premier CS3, or just PS, and AE CS3!

Just got off the phone with Adobe... and they will not do the transfer, unless I upgrade to CS4
Trade is my only option at the moment.

  • Cannot reinstall CS3 on Windows 7 after Acrobat update

I, like so many others, cannot reinstall CS3 on Windows 7. CS3 stopped working after I updated Acrobat (which I now wish I hadn't done), it was working fine for months previously. I got the 'needs uninstall/reinstall' error.
I am reinstalling from files saved on my computer, not DVD. I tried every solution I could find online (the cleanscript, deactivating firewall, deactivating UAC, uninstalling google desktop, registering jscript.dll) Doing a clean Windows reinstall is not an option I'm willing to try. I tried chatting with customer service, who couldn't help me and referred me to the phone technical support. I tried that and the tech guy told me CS3 is no longer supported, so he couldn't help me, unless of course I wanted to pay a $50 fee). I can get Acrobat Pro and shared components to install, but all other components fail.
Is it just me, or is it mightily suspicious that this happens to so many other people? I'm willing to bet that Adobe engineers their updates to 'fail' older versions figuring we'll eventually give up trying to fix it and eventually just upgrade. Adobe- you sold me a license with no expiration date. Why not eliminate all the subterfuge and start selling 5yr licenses?

This just happened to me tonight.   Acrobat requested an update. I said YES, update now.  And now my CS3 Web Premium doesn't work.  I should have known.
I've tried everything. Adobe cleaners, licence tools, renaming folders (flex_something folder),  resetting folder permissions (Adobe PCD), start services > flex_something, etc.   Can't get anything to work.
Something like this happens about every 6 months or so. Takes me 3 days to get it running again. Man, I'm exhausted trying to keep this software running.
    What gives?   Any advise?

  • Illustrator CS3 for Windows upon launch crashes

Recently, bought an Apple iMac, installed Parallels virtual machine and installed my Windows XP Professional and installed my CS3 Premium. Every program works except Illustrator. It crashes every time I launch it getting the error message..."sorry for the inconvenience...'' and asks to send an error report. I have uninstalled and reinstalled every possible way, downloaded all the updates, and fixed the registry, repeatly and every time it fails.
I have been using CS3 on my HP laptop every since I got it and never had issues. My brother seems to think that my installation disk is scratched and messes up the download. So, basically, it somehow got scratched when I put it on my mac. Could this be an issue or is this something else?
    Chris

    Hello Again:
To follow up on my last post.. I had a real bad time with my computer most recently and had to recover it. Since I had a fresh install, I went with service pack 3. I use Windows XP.
I did install Web Developer Premium CS3, but left out Acrobat Professional. I also decided to go with the default mouse driver for Win XP. In Illustrator I turned off the save to clip board upon exit feature.
Now for the longest time, no matter how much I use Illustrator, I am not having any problems on exit. I am not exactly sure why other than I have a fresh install of my OS.
Also: It has been mentioned in other threads that Acrobat was the problem or the mouse driver was the problem or settings in preferences, or even the start up definition file (which I trashed and Illustrator reset it on start.)
So now I am happy to have Illustrator CS3 working well.
    Thought I should repost.. thanks,
    Michael R.

  • Cannot reactivate CS3 Premium

I needed to upgrade window XP to Windows 7
I read I needed to deactivate CS3 Premium in order that I could reactivate after the OS was upgraded to Win7
I tried to do this on line but CS3 Premium would not deactivate.
Support told me to uninstall CS3 Premium, they said it would de activate the software automatically.
When I came to reinstall CS3 I am informed that it is not possible because the serial number has been deleted.
I was not informed that I could not re install or re activate CS3 and so it seems I have been deprived of very valuable tools that I intended to use eg
Fireworks, Photoshop and  other tools in the package.
How on earth can Adobe do this to me. In my opinion it's like robbery!
I had no idea that if I did as the Chat line suggested that my software would die.
I do hope it can be resurrected.
    Can anyone please help me.
    Many thanks
    John

Thanks Bob I have been arguing with the Chat people for hours.
They suggested by email I contact the forum.
Have you any other ideas where I may get some help.
I could get nowhere with the chat line.

  • CS3 Premium Install error - Internal error 2739

I have attempted to install CS3 Premium on a Microsoft Vista sysem. When I click to install I get an error "Internal Error 2739. Contact Customer Support." I have been on the phone with customer support twice today with the same tech for several hours, and we haven't been able to resolve the problem yet.
He tells me that the problem is that "Java script" is not installed on my almost new Dell XPS. I even reinstalled Vista at his suggestion and get the same error when attempting to install CS3.
Has anyone else had this problem? Or has anyone had experience trying to install JAVA. It will not install on my system either.
    Any suggestions?

try installing the newest update for java runtime 6 update 4.
    http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/index.jsp
it was just release a couple days ago i think. anyways i was having this exact same problem and i donwloaded this and to fix it. i have vista 32 bit. fyi i will tell everyone how i downloaded it. now java has been having issues on my system so i could not use the adobe download manager to download trial for premiere would tell me fatal error (just like how it would tell you in this problem) and the java online installation did not seem to be working for me so what i did was in firefox go to tools and then to options and i disabled java and java script. that allowed me to use download manager to donwload the premiere trial and the upadate 4 offline installation. i closed all windows and installed it and restarted just in case and worked after that. try it. i tried reinstalling java 6 update 3 a few times with no success. hope this helps everyone. i have no idea if this will fix the runtime errors with older versions of encore, premiere, or photoshop or encore cs3. want to wait for service pack 1 for vista to come out before i try the trials for those ones.

  • Upgrade from CS3 on Windows to CS4 on OS X

I currently have Web Premium CS3 for Windows and would like to upgrade to Web Premium CS4 for MAC OS X. I've reviewed the Adobe site, and did not find anything specifically saying this is not allowed. Does anyone know if this could be a potential problem? It seems like it isn't an issue, but I would rather ask the community experts.

CS3 is unsupported under Windows 8. That said, you'll need to contact Adobe
    directly for serial number issues.
