CS3 Registering Problem

The computer where the CS3 was installed crashed and I was unable to unregister it before installing it in my new computer. Now, after installing it in the new computer, the Adobe's site refuses to register it for its serial number appears as registered in another computer (the one that crashed). What should I do in order to have my CS3 registered and able to be used in my new computer?

CS3 reinstall problem - asking for uninstalled CS4 beta

I have a PowerBook G4 with 1.5 Gb RAM running Mac OS 10.4.11. I have the CS3 Suite installed and last year downloaded a beta copy of Fireworks CS4. After using it a bit, I uninstalled Fireworks CS4 with the Adobe uninstaller.
I recently had a problem with Bridge and decided to uninstall and reinstall the software. I uninstalled Photoshop CS3 (in order to uninstall Bridge) and when I began to reinstall Photoshop, the installer ask me to insert the Fireworks CS4 disk! Since I don't have that disk, I hit cancel and the install terminated (I tried this multiple times and rebooted each time)
I then downloaded and ran Adobe's CS4 Cleanup app. It found NO CS4 apps to clean up.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

1) I uninstalled FW CS4
2) I uninstalled CS3
3) I ran Cleanup Script
4) I repaired permissions using Disk First Aid
5) I reinstalled CS3
The problems with Bridge remained (sluggish, won't display icons properly, won't show a preview image, won't operate the folder list, etc.).
So I called Adobe support. Unfortunately, because I am having problems installing CS3 and NOT CS4, support is NOT FREE. The rep was helpful though -- she pointed me to document number 331594 (Diagnosing Bridge problems) and told me to start there. I followed EVERY step . . . disable start-up scripts, reverted to original preferences, cleaned up the cache, disabled the folder windows, and the problems remain.
Guess I'll have to pay . . .
Lesson learned: don't trial Adobe software. That's when my problems began.

Premiere CS3 Reinstall Problem

I am currently running Windows XP Pro on a Matrox Axio system in which the CS3 Creative Suite was already installed for me upon purchase. As of late I've had problems with Quicktime (Premiere and After Effects no longer see it as a compatible format) and I was hoping that as a solution, I could reinstall Premiere and After Effects from the original discs.
This theory might work but when I get the disc to the Progress portion of the reinstall, it asks me to "insert CS3 Production Premium Disc 1 into drive \\prod\Adobeapps". I don't claim to be an expert but I just cannot figure out what the installer is asking me to do and I'm very frustrated. I tried a multitude of Quicktime-related fixes that didn't yield results and I was really hoping to try this particular fix to see if it works. Does anyone have experience with this error? If so, what was your method of bypassing it?
If this helps in any way, Quicktime stopped working with my system when one day Premiere couldn't get past the CompilerAIFF.prm during the initial program load. I went back a few hours on a system restore and when I got Premiere up and running again, Quicktime was no longer a viable option. I've tried totally reinstalling stand alone Quicktime (and I did use the Windows Installer Clean Up to remove iTunes and Quicktime before the reinstall) and I've tried repairing Quicktime in the Control Panel, and helped. In fact, attempting to repair Quicktime led to a "fatal error on install" and put me back where Premiere got hung up on the CompilerAIFF.prm again.
Any help I could get would be much appreciated.

Photoshop CS3 Register Now/Later Screen not loading

Mac OSX 10.7.5
I have been using the CS3 products (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) every day for many years at work.
Working fine yesterday.
Try to use them today, the register now/later screen won't load properly (blank screen) so I can't select either option and can't use the apps. We usually "register later" without issue whenever it appears.
Any suggestions on what's causing the issue? Console logs aren't useful.

Thanks to all of you! And "rebob," I beg your pardon... I didn't even know my router was working! I was still able to logon to the internet even after disconnecting it from my computer. As soon as I disconnected the router too, and ensure I was indeed off of the internet, it worked the first time! Thanks again!

Viewing large Illustrator CS3 files problem

I use bridge to browse through previous work in created in Illustrator CS3.
Problem - when viewing these files in Bridge some files (whatever their dimensions) show as large thumbnails and others (with the same AI dimensions) are small and do not seem to stretch in Bridge?
Can anyone explain how to stretch the thumbnail in Bridge.

Sorted - I need to save the CS3 file with 'create pdf compatible file' checked in the options, and it then opens as a large thumbnail in bridge.

CS3 reinstall problem

Recently my laptop crashed. I bought a new and installed CS3 premium. The old laptop I could reanimate just so long to deactivate the CS3 install.
Now my CS3 keeps asking for a registration key prior to CS3. I got the CS2 running on a desktop mac, so I copied the registration key of the about box. It doesn't work. Probably the key in the about is not complete.
The install CD of CS and CS2 where lost in a move two years ago (I was happy to see CS3 installed with no hassle on the old laptop)
Is there a way to retrieve my serial-number (tried looking trough for application.xml but there was only a 'demo-key')

Got no CD, and no invoice to prove the buy prior to cs3-update. I do have an order confirmation (You're right, I also wonder why & how I managed to save that...) I registered all updates with Adobe so I keep my fingers crossed. I informed Adobe CS (Customer service that is) about my problem. Hope to hear (a good tiding) soon.
An no I'm not with a company, nor am I a company myself. I earn my living in a creative job not related to designing for print or web (laying carpets). I use Indesign CS just for fun.

CS3 install problems

Hi,
I have my original copy of CS3 and have used it daily for 7 years, but now will not open. It told me to contact Adobe, I contacted Adobe, but they would not help, and said to come to this forum. I am in a bind, as I had a project to finish today, and it looks like I will be dealing with this problem instead. I have had a issue similar in the past, but Adobe helped me fix it, but now do not want to fix the flaw in their system. Guess they want people to pay to upgrade? Well, I do not need anything other than CS3, nor do I like shelling out thousands for things I do not need. Anyhow, I am in a bind to get back up and running. Any help is appreciated.
I am using Creative Suite 3 web premium on Windows Vista 64 bit.
I have been searching on the forums for help, but nothing seems to work. I have even tried a clean install of a fresh download from the Adobe site, and the problem is worse now. All it will install is Adobe Acrobat 8 and Shared Components. I get errors for the other contents, and it will not tell me why they are not installing. It does ask me to define a path to Adobepdf.dll. I did find some info. on how to do that, but it still does not work. My photoshop was working fine yesterday, and has been for years. Not sure what the problem is, I have not changed anything.

I was online yesterday with TechSupport for about an hour.   It appears that there is an issue with the "host" file which was filled with script from adobe that was causing it not to connect to the internet.
This is on a mac.... not sure on a PC
Click on Finder, then Go Menu on top> Then Go To folder
Type: /etc    (with the slash)
Press Enter
You will see a file named Hosts
Copy the hosts file and paste to desktop.
Open the Hosts file which is copied on the Desktop.
Delete all the entries and make it blank.
Now copy and paste exactly this part---- ### Host Database## localhost is used to configure the loopback interface# when the system is booting. Do not change this entry.##127.0.0.1 localhost
Save the file and close it.
Now copy this file from desktop and paste in etc folder. I mean replace the old hosts with the new one from desktop.
First Save the file and close it.
My host file that was filled with a ton of Adobe scripts... once they were gone. Problem solved. ... for now.   My issue was that the "register later" option was no longer available.

CS3 uninstall problems

Hi, I have tried getting an answer to this previously, Customer Service could not help me.
I had a copy of Windows XP Pro that crashed and had problems reloading it, CS3 would not work or uninstall as it was no longer showing in the installed software. I left it alone as I planned to install Win 7 Pro. After a clean install of 7 Pro, Photoshop is still showing up in my software, but CC Cleaner is not recognising it. Although I registered my copy of CS3 back in 2008 or thereabouts, it seems Adobe no longer have the records and I am getting 'invalid' for the key number on my software box.
Any ideas on the best way to proceed with this?

THis does not make any sense to me. To me a clean install means you formatted you HD, so therefore nothing should exist. Must be missing something here.

Bridge won't launch from CS3 - intermittent problem

Hi folks I dont think I am alone in experiencing this problem as a quick google threw up other sufferers but the suggested fix update everything at the Adobe website has not fixed the problem, so I am hoping that someone here can shed some light. Problem 1; Bridge will sometimes not open from CS3 - ie when I click on the icon , or if Bridge is set up to open automatically when CS3 opens, I sometimes get an error message that reads error 2:Photoshop is undefined. Line: 1 ->photoshop10.invoke bridge (false, false, ); When this happens Bridge will still open fine from the start menu, so it is not disastrous but is annoying because the keyboard shortcut <shift ctrl W > won't work either (to close a file in CS3 and bring the Bridge window up on screen) - a similar error message is received when using Shift Ctrl W as when trying to open bridge. Problem 2; the fly out menus will not remain on screen. Eg if I have a layer and want to access the blend mode menu - if I click on the menu in the layer palette the menu appears for a second and then disappears. Problem 3: If I try to create a new action as soon as I click on the "new action" in the actions palette the word "scripts" appears multiple times in the action - it just produces line after line of this until I click the button to stop the action. Problem 4 (may be related to problem 2 ?); in the crop tool - I can't get the cursor to remain in the width and height boxes - so I can't control the dimensions of the crop (which is currently stuck at my last size of 3 x 4 cm - not much use to man nor beast). Most frustratingly of all - these are all intermittent problems. Things I have tried - updating CS3 and bridge from Adobe site, opening CS3 and bridge before any other program, not running any other program at the same time, uninstalling and reinstalling (after disabling all antivirus etc stuff), but so far nothing works. I am using a 1 year old Dell PC, lots of RAM and hard drive available, only working from internal drives, no new hardware or software loaded (although there might have been a windows update - but this occurred after the problems started and has not noticeably changed things). Windows XP pro. Recently done whole system scan for viruses etc and no problems found. Please help, this has been going on since I loaded CS3 a few months ago and it is driving me nuts. Amanda - One consistent recommendation that has fixed a lot of problems, especially if program worked before, and does not now, is to reset preferences. This is not the same as uninstalling and reinstalling, as the preference file is not affected with that operation.
Since it is intermittent problem this will probably not help, but worth a shot.
When it does not work is there some process that is running, like a anti-virus scan, or?
What about startup scripts in Bridge? Disable any you do not need.

Indesign CS3-JS - Problem in reading text from a text file

I have an problem with reading text from an txt file. By "readln" methot I can read only the first line of the text, is there any method to read the consecutive lines from the text file.
Currently I am using Indesign CS3 with Java Script (for PC).

If you want to use readln, you'll have to iterate. I don't see a for loop in your example, so you're not iterating. To see how it works, take a closer look at FindChangeByList.jsx--you'll see that that script iterates to read the text file line by line (until it reaches the end of the file).

Adobe CS3 Extended - problem w Bridge - picture displayed wrong in Horrizontal Filmstrip mode

Recently started have problems with Adobe Bridge (CS3 Extended) after it did an automatic update from Adobe for my CS3. The problem is that the panel where the picture appears in "Horrizontal Filmstrip" is now positioned to the far right - partially off the screen; plus, whatever action done previously is showing through the panel area where the picture should have been. Doing "refresh" does not help.
Tried to reinstall the whole program but the problem did not go away. Then uninstalled the whole Adobe CS3 suite (which includes Bridge); then reloaded the probram; and, then the problem went away. As soon as I downloaded the updates from Adobe again, the problem reappeared. Anyone no what to do?

Did you try to reset the preferences by holding down the ctrl key and starting Bridge? You will get a reset window, choose all 3 options.
A re-install will not affect this file so if contaminated before it will be contaminated after.
Also, make sure you have the latest video driver, as this affects the filmstrip mode.

Well, who told you it was for a Mac? If you bought it at a retail store, you should be able to take it back there and exchange it for a Mac copy. If you bought it used, you should demand a refund from whoever you bought it from.
Of course, that is all assuming it's actually a Windows copy, and there's not something else going on... What does it say on the CD? My Photoshop Elements CD is very clearly labeled "Macintosh."

Vendor Returns with 161 Movement type - Register Problem

I am following the below process.
1. ME21N - Create a Returns PO (Activate "Returns" indicator for PO line item)
2. MIGO - Goods Receipt > Purchase Order (Returns PO) (Here system will hit Mvmt type "161" and you can also select Un-restricted/blocked stock from where you want to return the stock)
3. J1IS u2013 Excise Invoice Other Movements
Here click on u201Ccreateu201D button to create an outgoing excise invoice and reverse the CENVAT Amount.
Here put all details as below and Press u201CEnteru201D.
Ref.doc.type - MATD
Doc Number - Material document No of 161 mvmt
Doc Year
Series Group
Excise Group
Vendor
Here check BED, ECS and SECess values to be reversed and click on u201CSaveu201D button to post the excise invoice.
4. J1IV - Post and Print Outgoing Excise Invoice.

The Problem I am facing the when update the registers with J215 and download with J2I6, it is not being updated properly.
The balance Quantity Column (Column M) in the excel which is download, instead of decreasing the quantity is getting increased.
for the First PO the Qty is 1000
for the Second PO the Qty is 1010
for the third PO the Qty is 1020 even though the PO is Return PO with qty 10.
Please guide me to solve this problem.

InCopy/InDesign CS3 Assignment Problem

Hello everyone--
For the past three years we've used Version Cue CS3 for workflow on our publication. For the most part its worked fine. Recently though, we've had to get a new computer for an office on the West Coast and a new router on our office on the East Coast (the operating system we use on the East Coast is Windows XP Profesional.) The computer on the West Coast is running Windows 7, and it seems InCopy CS3 installed on it without a problem--until it came time to do our publication.
The way our system is set up is the West Coast machine uses a VPN tunnel to see our network here--so all it really has to do is connect to the Version Cue server's IP address. This set up worked fine when the machine was a Windows XP based machine, but since the changeover, InCopy doesn't seem to be reading the assignment files correctly. For example, on an Indesign File the copy fits fine and dandy in the layout, and the assignment looks okay when I open it up on InCopy over here. When InCopy opens it up on the Windows 7 machine, the body copy is invariably 3-5 lines over and any formatting changes made from the Windows 7 machine, like changing words to italics, won't be reflected on the updated assignments file. (I confirmed this by emailing our West Coast editor the assignment file directly and InCopy CS3 still wasn't reading it correctly.) Also, at one point we apparently lost some big changes made over the weekend but changes like new headlines held. Any ideas on why this is happening?
Also, and I'm not sure this is related, but since we installed our new RV082 router, we've been getting strange "Version Cue server offline messages" every so often, and then when we go into a project Version Cue suddenly reads it as "online and connected" again. InDesign CS3 often hangs whenever we try to open up a file on the Version Cue server. The only way we've been able to get InDesign to start up is to delete the recovery folders and synchronize everything first--this, needless to say, has been a bit of a time waster.
All our programs are CS3 and except for the West Coast machine, all are running Windows XP pro.

We are installing and using the software under the administrator logins.
My main concern is that we purchased computers that have a processor that is incompatible with Adobe InCopy/InDesign CS3. We purchased two types of PC's, some with AMD Atholon II processors and some with Intel Core2 vpro processors. InDesign/Incopy CS3 were going to go on the Intel's (more power computer) and the InCopy was going to only go on the AMD's.
Prior to receiving the CS3 versions of the software, I hadn't been aware that was the version we were being assigned by our corporate office. After looking at the requirements of CS3 on the adobe site, it only mentions Intel Processors as basic requirements.
(We purchasd the computers with AMD's to save some money....the users requiring InCopy didn't need "as much computer" as the InDesign users).
Could the processor be the problem?

On going registering Problems

Dear all Blackberry Fans,
Please bare with me as this is my first post and a proud user of my Pearl 8100. I'm hoping that anyone here be able to help me with a solution regarding registering my PIN, but not sure if I'm in the right forum for this. Anyway, the problem I'm experiencing is registering my BB Pearl Pin and IMEI to the BIS as its already been registered with the previous owner. I brought the Phone legitimately from the previous owner last year which was on Vodafone UK network and been using it on a pay as you go tariff as a second phone.
This week I asked and received the NUC (Network Unlock Code) from Vodafone themselves so I could use it on my preferred o2 network and then added the Blackberry tariff to my existing contract. Everything was all going according to plan until I realised that I couldn't register my phone PIN and IMEI on BIS as its already been registered by the previous owner. So, I contacted my network provider (o2), explained the situation, they told me to contact Vodafone which I did, again explained the problem to them and Vodafone said to contact the original owner, again I did and told me he contacted Vodafone last year confirming that he's no longer in precession of that handset, saying that I need to contact Vodafone again. And guess what!...I have and they told me that I need to contact the original owner again as he's got the PIN ! Well I'm confused now as I got the PIN and now becoming increasingly frustrated as I'm now paying for the Blackberry services.....yet I can't use it.
If you don't mind me saying that this has created a massive headache for me as I'm going round in circles and at a dead end. All I want is Vodafone to re-release the handset so I can register it to my o2 account, but talking to them is like talking to a brick wall.
Anyway, I decided to use this forum as a last resort and hope someone here might be able to help me before I abandon any hope and ditch Blackberry altogether! (Not that I want to)
Any help or suggestions will be much appreciated.

Hi WildgooseUK! I’m sorry to hear that. Previous owner should help you out either by providing required details or contact Vodafone to convince them that HH is legitimately transferred to you. You know carriers are become skeptical in erasing user accounts or providing password (as they can reset the accounts passwords as well). They need to be sure that user’s authenticity.
Ya for using in BIS you need to have the required info otherwise it’s of no use…
