CS3 reinstall

So I had problems with my computer that I had to reformat and reinstall everything.  I had backups of all my files so not a big deal, right.  Well I reinstalled Premier and go to open a project I need to finish and Premier does not see the MXF or P2 files for my footage.  It asks where the files are located and I go there, but there are no files it sees.  I know they are they, becuase I can see them in the folder, but Premier does not see it.  In fact in the import settings, MXF is not in the pull down.
I am missing something?  I downloaded a new Viewer and the drivers for my camera, is there something else I need that I can't remember?

After doing a bit more research it looks like I need to update P Pro.  I am gathering the first versions of CS3 did not support P2 and there was an update.  Can anyone confirm this?  I just recently started working with P2 at home so I guess I had already updated before.

  • CS3 reinstall problems on Windows 7 64-bit

I had cs3 installed on my desktop running windows 7 64-bit for months. Then I got a licensing error message, and reinstall message. I uninstalled everything Adobe, ran the cleanscript app. Tried reinstalling again, and Adobe Acrobat installs but all other components fail to install. Tried lots of things from other threads such as moving adobepdf.dll_64 to desktop, then renaming it. Nothing has worked. Would really appreciate some good advice. Thanks!

Please review your install logs to determine where the installation is failing.  You can find details on how to review the install logs at Troubleshoot installation with install logs | CS3, CS4 - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/troubleshoot-installation-install-logs-cs3.html.

  • CS3 reinstall problem - asking for uninstalled CS4 beta

I have a PowerBook G4 with 1.5 Gb RAM running Mac OS 10.4.11. I have the CS3 Suite installed and last year downloaded a beta copy of Fireworks CS4. After using it a bit, I uninstalled Fireworks CS4 with the Adobe uninstaller.
I recently had a problem with Bridge and decided to uninstall and reinstall the software. I uninstalled Photoshop CS3 (in order to uninstall Bridge) and when I began to reinstall Photoshop, the installer ask me to insert the Fireworks CS4 disk! Since I don't have that disk, I hit cancel and the install terminated (I tried this multiple times and rebooted each time)
I then downloaded and ran Adobe's CS4 Cleanup app. It found NO CS4 apps to clean up.
    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks Neil and Buko for your input. Here's where things stand now:
    1) I uninstalled FW CS4
    2) I uninstalled CS3
    3) I ran Cleanup Script
    4) I repaired permissions using Disk First Aid
    5) I reinstalled CS3
The problems with Bridge remained (sluggish, won't display icons properly, won't show a preview image, won't operate the folder list, etc.).
So I called Adobe support. Unfortunately, because I am having problems installing CS3 and NOT CS4, support is NOT FREE. The rep was helpful though -- she pointed me to document number 331594 (Diagnosing Bridge problems) and told me to start there. I followed EVERY step . . . disable start-up scripts, reverted to original preferences, cleaned up the cache, disabled the folder windows, and the problems remain.
    Guess I'll have to pay . . .
Lesson learned: don't trial Adobe software. That's when my problems began.

  • Ps CS3 reinstall problem

I recently updated my pc to Windows 7, from Vista. I had CS3 on my pc prior to the install. I have reinstalled my copy of CS3 and it appeared it uploaded ok but when it begins to open I get the spinning circle of death. Any suggestions about what I might be doing wrong?

  • CS3 reinstall issue

I uninstalled CS3 a few weeks ago when reformatting a disk since then I reinstalled it, unfortunately  someone took it upon themselvces to clear out "duplicate entries" in the Windows/System 32 folder.
When I try to use Illustrator it tells me that the subsystem licensing has failed and to reinstall, however when I try to do so I get a message that I can only install one adobe product at a time. I am definitely not trying to install 2 products. I think this is related to some files not being cleared out or?
Thanks for any help and advice you can give.
    Miriam

The "you can only install 1 product at a time" can be eliminated by killing msiexec.exe in your task manager. Basically your install never finished. That being so, use the CS3 Clean Script/ CS4 Clean Utility from the support pages, then start out with a clean slate and re-install everything. No way around that. The licensing system is just one hell of a touchy mess... Just make sure you have sufficient user permissions. Installs not finishing means that you don't have proper administrative privileges....

  • Premiere CS3 Reinstall Problem

I am currently running Windows XP Pro on a Matrox Axio system in which the CS3 Creative Suite was already installed for me upon purchase. As of late I've had problems with Quicktime (Premiere and After Effects no longer see it as a compatible format) and I was hoping that as a solution, I could reinstall Premiere and After Effects from the original discs.
This theory might work but when I get the disc to the Progress portion of the reinstall, it asks me to "insert CS3 Production Premium Disc 1 into drive \\prod\Adobeapps". I don't claim to be an expert but I just cannot figure out what the installer is asking me to do and I'm very frustrated. I tried a multitude of Quicktime-related fixes that didn't yield results and I was really hoping to try this particular fix to see if it works. Does anyone have experience with this error? If so, what was your method of bypassing it?
If this helps in any way, Quicktime stopped working with my system when one day Premiere couldn't get past the CompilerAIFF.prm during the initial program load. I went back a few hours on a system restore and when I got Premiere up and running again, Quicktime was no longer a viable option. I've tried totally reinstalling stand alone Quicktime (and I did use the Windows Installer Clean Up to remove iTunes and Quicktime before the reinstall) and I've tried repairing Quicktime in the Control Panel, and helped. In fact, attempting to repair Quicktime led to a "fatal error on install" and put me back where Premiere got hung up on the CompilerAIFF.prm again.
Any help I could get would be much appreciated.

  • Photoshop CS3 reinstall problem

I had installed cs3 on a secondary harddrive than went bad. When I
try to reinstall it's trying to repair the exsisting version that I guess some files were installed on my primary harddrive. It gives me the message of:
    any help?

A Google Search turns up a lot of people recommending 3rd party uninstallers.  I haven't used any of those and can't recommend one.
Adobe themselves have a variety of removal aids...  Many look like they were for beta versions, but it's possible they could help you.  This turns up a lot of possibilties:

  • Photoshop CS3 Reinstall

How do I reinstall Photoshop CS3 on a new iMac which has no DVD drive?

if you follow all 7 steps you can dl a trial here:  http://prodesigntools.com/download-adobe-cs4-and-cs3-free-trials-here.html
    and activate with your serial.
if you have a problem dl'g, you didn't follow all 7 steps.  the most common error involves failing to meticulously follow steps 1,2 and/or 3 (which adds a cookie to your system enabling you to download the correct version from adobe.com).
or, you can copy your install files to a usb drive (if you have access to a computer with a dvd drive and usb port), and use the usb drive to install your cs3.

  • CS3 reinstall problem

Recently my laptop crashed. I bought a new and installed CS3 premium. The old laptop I could reanimate just so long to deactivate the CS3 install.
Now my CS3 keeps asking for a registration key prior to CS3. I got the CS2 running on a desktop mac, so I copied the registration key of the about box. It doesn't work. Probably the key in the about is not complete.
The install CD of CS and CS2 where lost in a move two years ago (I was happy to see CS3 installed with no hassle on the old laptop)
Is there a way to retrieve my serial-number (tried looking trough for application.xml but there was only a 'demo-key')

A warm thank you to all of you.
Got no CD, and no invoice to prove the buy prior to cs3-update. I do have an order confirmation (You're right, I also wonder why & how I managed to save that...) I registered all updates with Adobe so I keep my fingers crossed. I informed Adobe CS (Customer service that is) about my problem. Hope to hear (a good tiding) soon.
An no I'm not with a company, nor am I a company myself. I earn my living in a creative job not related to designing for print or web (laying carpets). I use Indesign CS just for fun.

  • Photoshop CS3 reinstall with no disk

I recently switched macs and managed to back up my old software (somewhat). Because this Mac has a broken CD drive, I cannot use the install disk. I copied my old software over, and it looks like it will start to run, and then shut down. It gives me this DYLD error:
Library not loaded: @executable_path/../Frameworks/AdobeAGM.framework/Versions/A/AdobeAGM. I tried using the install cleaner and it won't detect my software. I have my license number and I'm prepared to PM it if anyone needs it for the solution. I just need the free trial of CS3 to upgrade to the full and i'll be on my way.
    Thanks!

Bigsis97 please do not private message your serial number to anyone other than Adobe Staff.  Even then I would recommend sending it via e-mail if it is necessary.
First I would recommend removing your current installation of Creative Suite 3.  Please run all available uninstallers in the Applications/Utilities/Adobe Installers folder.  Once this is done please run the CC Cleaner Tool to ensure complete removal.  You can find details and a link to download the CC Cleaner tool at Use the CC Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems | CC, CS3-CS6 - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cs5-cleaner-tool-installation-problems.html.
Finally if you need a fresh copy of the installation files you can download them from Download CS3 products.

  • Dreamweaver CS3 Reinstall with no disc :s

I'm not sure how it happened, but I can't seem to find my
disc for my copy of Dreamweaver CS3.
I went to install it onto my laptop but I opened the box and
there was no disc. I have a legal serial number, but everywhere I
look there's only downloads for CS4 and none for CS3.
Anyone have any ideas? :( I only need the installer
    portion...

Grab just about any book on Dreamweaver CS3. They almost
always come with a disc that includes the 30-day trial. When
prompted for the serial number enter your own and you're good to
    go.

  • CS3 reinstall, keep macros

I need to reinstall Photoshop. Before I do, is there a way to save all the actions I've created to another file, and then import them back into Photoshop?
    Thanks!

Select the Sets (not the individual Actions) individually and invoke »Save Actions« from the fly-out-menu of the Actions Panel.

  • Adobe Photoshop CS3 printing to an HP Pro B9180

I am trying to print a borderless project. The preview looks perfect but when printed it cuts 1/8th of an inch off the top. I have reinstalled Adobe Photoshop CS3, reinstalled the printer and spent 2 hours with an HP tech online and no fixes yet. Windows Vista Home Premium is the O/S.
    Any suggestions, thanks Jan

    Hi Jan,
Don't know if this will help or not, but it may be worth a look. Russell Brown has a video tutorial on printing with CS3 to the HP Photosmart B9180 here:
    http://www.russellbrown.com/tips_tech.html
You'll have to scroll about 1/3 down the page to get to the section entitled
Adobe Photoshop CS3 Standard Edition Tutorials
and its the third tutorial in the list. He also gives some useful tips about drivers et cetera.
    Good luck.

  • Photoshop CS3 not opening after Cloud trial

I have a licensed version of Photoshop CS3. I did a trial of Adobe Cloud InDesign, uninstalled that (not easy), and now my PS will not launch. I have unistalled PS CS3, reinstalled it (numerous times), and when I click on it in Applications it just bounces in my Mac dock and then essentially just freezes.  I'm really peeved.

There used to be a weird bug where this didn't work when there was an accented character (like ø, ä, etc.) somewhere in the path to the file, in the filename itself or in the metadata, the file simply wouldn't open in CS3. Don't know if that ever was fixed, but might be something to check.

  • Problems with CS3 updates

I have been having some massive issues with trying to install an Aja Xena card on my PC which I won't bore you with, but I currently have about 40 or 50 projects I'm working on in Premiere CS3. All were going well until the attempted Aja install and I have finally uninstalled all of the Aja software and hardware and done a CS3 reinstall. Now one of the interesting things when trying to open a CS3 project when the Aja was installed was that jpgs in the timeline were stretched horizontally and bmp images which were previously there simply disappeared and would only reappear if placed in a directory higher than the project. Now Aja is gone and the reinstall of CS3 has taken place, the problems aren't evident if I don't do a CS3 update, but as soon as I do the update then the jpg images on the Premiere timeline get stretched horizontally. The bmp issues aren't there. Any ideas anyone? My workround at the moment is just to ignore the updates, but this whole episode has cost me about 3 weeks of productive work.....

I have solved it for premiere pro cs3 (Vista Ultimate 32bit - installed version was Premiere Pro 3.1.1)
FIRST I HAVE DELETED ALL CONTENT IN THE FOLDER
    C:\Users\YOURNAME\AppData\Local\Temp
    RUN THE
    premiere_pro_3.2.0_update.exe
AGAIN AND IT ABORT (because of 'The update is unable to locate the product to be updated.' - wrong version number in the config.xml)
    THEN CHANGE IN
    C:\Users\YOURNAME\AppData\Local\Temp\Patcher\Patcher6108
    THE FILE
    config.xml
    THE LINE
    3.0
    TO
    3.1.1 (Your current version number)
    SECOND CHANGE IN
    C:\Users\YOURNAME\AppData\Local\Temp\Patcher\Patcher5688
    THE FILES
    config.xml
    THE LINE
    3.0
    TO
    3.1.1 (Your current version number)
    THEN RUN IN THE FOLDER
    C:\Users\YOURNAME\AppData\Local\Temp\Patcher\Patcher6108\Installer
    THE
    PatcherApplication.exe
    AGAIN.
After this the Premiere Pro CS3 update was succesfully installed.
Maybe it works also for other CS3 Products under Vista.
