CS3 running slow for anyone???????

Hello!
I am at the end! I can not take this any more! Dreamweaver
is running slower that a......... words can not explain! I'm
running OX S 10.4.9, 2.16GHz intel Core 2 Duo and 1 GB of ram.
What the hell is going on? I get the "color wheel" when I
scroll up the page, down the page, rollover a box outline, click on
ANYTHING, edit the code, save, preview, EVERYTHING IS JUST SLOW,
SLOW, SLOW.
I can have NO programs open, all programs open, preying to
the big man above and it still runs SLOW!
AAAAarrrrrrrrggggGGGGGGHHHhhhhHHH!!!!!
Can anyone hep out there??
Thanks all!!!!!!!!!

I have not upgraded to CS3 but from many posts in this forum
it sounds like CS3 should just not have
been released for the Mac until it was ready.
Folks with Macs seems to share the same experience of CS3
beeing very slow to the point of not being
usable.
Just stick to version 8, and wait for an update that might
solve these problems... If it ever comes.

Adobe CC applications are very large and the base Mac mini isn't a good choice because it has only 4GB of RAM and has a slow standard hard drive. To get the most out of ACC you should upgrade the mini to at least 8GB. I'd also choose an SSD or Fusion drive for better performance.

  • IBook app slow for anyone else too?

I have noticed when i try to use my ibook app its running slow. This is happening on my iphone 4, and old 3GS. Its especially noticeable when you flip books to horizontal to read, it takes it a good few seconds to flip over.
i know seconds is not a big deal, but in any other app when i turn the phone it immediately flips over the screen. And i remember when i first got the ibook app it wasn't like this. more recent thing, and happening on both phones. so i don't is this a software bug?
    anyone else with this issue?

One odd thing that I noticed is that when I FIRST open my Pooh book (the free one), it gives me an error, telling me that the required resources aren't there, and doesn't open. Then I can open it again, IMMEDIATELY, and it opens just fine. I deleted the book the first time (because it would never open, and would always give me that error), and now it opens, but only on the second time...
    Anyone else having this error?

  • My MacBook Pro running slow-for everything

    Hello everyone!
I am fairly new to the MacBook family.  Just got my very first one last year for Christmas.  It has been wonderful and I'm sure I'm not using it to its fullest potential.  It hasn't given me a problem at all for an entire year until just about a week ago.  Its running slow.  Stagnant in fact.  It takes forever to even boot up.  I see the color wheel for everything that I try to click.  Safari, Mail, etc.  Even if I just want to shut down or restart.  It seems to freeze on everything.  And there was no warning to it.  One day working fine and running at its usual lighting speed and the next day color wheel for everything.
I'm sure its new operator error and would love any suggestions on how to fix it (or what I am doing wrong) before I make an appointment to go talk to someone at our local Apple store.
Thanks in advance for all your help!

How large is your hard drive and how much hard drive space do you have left?
It is very difficult to offer troubleshooting suggestions when the "os version" you are using is unknown as each os has their own troubleshooting solutions.

I also don't know how to do a time machine backup.  Told ya, I'm a complete newbie!
Read the os Help menu and the Knowledge Base Article - http://support.apple.com/kb/VI29.  Research other Time Machine articles.

  • My mac mini is running slow, does anyone have any advise?

My mac mini is running slow, i didn't doe anything strange, don't play big games ore things like that. Does somebody have a clue?

Please describe the problem in as much relevant detail as possible. The better your description, the better the chance of a solution.
For example, if the computer is slow, which specific actions are slow? Is it slow all the time, or only sometimes? What changes did you make, if any, just before it became slow? Have you seen any alerts or error messages? Have you done anything to try to fix it? Most importantly, do you have a current backup of all data? If the answer to the last question is "no," back up now. Ask if you need guidance. Do nothing else until you have a backup.

  • ICloud slow for anyone?

connecting to the icloud server seems on my iphone seems to be really really slow for me. Slow to check for mail, slow to send email, slow to tell me that I have new mail.   It's pretty snappy on the icloud.com site and my local mail app on my mac.  Slowness seems isolated to the iphone 4. Anyone else seeing this and how did you fix it (if at all)?  i suspect its just more hiccups by the icloud servers, but wanted to check to be sure.  I just started seeing these issues today, was fine since Thursday.

Painful,   just a plain simple email has to "load" to be read, no images no attachments included.  I suspect that Mac mail is being aligned to the new operating system were you start an email on one Apple product and finish on another.  Perhaps iCloud is not the way to go if you want speed.

have a fix? Thanks for your help

i noticed that is the welcome screen what makes my flash
start slow, if i start with no document i have no beach ball and
can start a proj in less than a second. If i start with last
project , no beach ball but sometimes lasts a while till flash
    opens it.

  • WRT54GS running slow for 1 month for no apparent reason

    Hi guys,
It's my first post here and I've read a few hints regarding slow wireless connections however I seem to have exhausted my alternatives to fix the problem.
    My scenario:
    - 1 Orange Wanadoo Livebox ADSL modem/router
    - 1 WRT54GS wireless router
    - my laptop (only user in the network)
So I have my livebox router configured to IP 192.168.1.1. From the yellow port, an ethernet cable connects to LAN (not the WAN) port of the WRT54GS. This router is configured with "automatic configuration - DHCP" and local IP 192.168.1.2 and internal DHCP server is disabled (since the livebox is already providing a DHCP server). It's running in Gateway mode. I understand this configuration essentially makes the WRT54GS an access point. I opted for this configuration so I don't need to have 2 networks, one for the orange modem/router and another one for the linksys, leading me to added complexity and double NAT port forwarding configuration..
I've been using it happily like this for a while, however 1 month ago the internet slowed down considerably. I run Network stumbler to make sure that I'm the only one using my channel, which I am. Also, there's no close channel numbers with a strong signal nearby.
Yesterday I decided to connect my laptop wired to the livebox modem/router. Running a download test I achieved consistently 750 Mbytes/s download. When I use my laptop wireless (through the linksys) I get max 350 Mbytes/s with some drop-outs that make it to a low of 25 Kbytes/s. The wireless connection also seems to break easily. I was running the wireless test with my laptop basically next to the linksys. Bluetooth was turned off, my phone was off and I have not acquired any new radio-waved devices lately.
So I don't know what else to do... could it be that the linksys actually has a problem with it ? I didn't try connecting wired to the linksys with my laptop because I need another ethernet cable, but the wireless definitely seems to have run kaput. Also, I tried to run the linksys web ping tool but for some reason it cannot ping my livebox 192.168.1.1 neither resolve domain names (?)
350 Kbytes/s doesn't seem like a bad thing, however it's half of what I get wired not to mention that the QoS also decreases a lot... I get terrible lags with regular internet browsing, sometimes only fixed by a refresh to the page I'm currently browsing.
    Any hints appreciated

I assume that you mean that when you wired your computer to your router, or directly to your modem, that you got 750 kbytes/sec , and then wirelessly you got only 350 kbytes/sec.   Is that correct?
Wireless connections require more overhead, so wireless speed is usually 50% to 70% of wired speed.  You are running at 47% and lower, so it does sound like you are having a problem.
Are you running any peer-to-peer (P2P) software?  If so, this is a known cause for router slowdowns and disconnections.  The problems can occur even if the P2P software is not currently running on your computer.  If you are running P2P software, stop using it.  It can take up to 5 days for the router to clear its memory and work properly again.
After a firmware upgrade, you must reset the router to factory defaults, then setup the router again from scratch.  If you have not done this since the last firmware upgrade, please do this now and see if it corrects your problem.  If you saved a router configuration file, DO NOT use it.
If the above do not correct your problem, then the next most common cause for this is simply poor wireless connections.  Note that you can have a poor wireless connection even if your computer shows "5 bars".
There are many causes for poor wireless connections, and many solutions:
In the router, give your network a unique SSID. Do not use "linksys". If you are using "linksys" you may be trying to connect to your neighbor's router. Also set "SSID Broadcast" to "enabled". This will help your computer find and lock on to your router's signal.
Poor wireless connections are often caused by radio interference from other 2.4 GHz devices. This includes wireless phones, wireless baby monitors, microwave ovens, wireless mice and keyboards, wireless speakers, and your neighbor's wireless network. In rare cases, Bluetooth devices can interfere. Even some 5+ GHz phones also use the 2.4 Ghz band. Unplug these devices, and see if that corrects your problem.
In your router, try a different channel. There are 11 channels in the 2.4 GHz band. Usually channel 1, 6, or 11 works best. Check out your neighbors, and see what channel they are using. Because the channels overlap one another, try to stay at least +5 or -5 channels from your strongest neighbors. For example, if you have a strong neighbor on channel 9, try any channel 1 through 4.
Also, try to locate the router about 4 to 6 feet above the floor, in an open area. Do not locate it behind your monitor or near other computer equipment or speakers. The antenna should be vertical.
Also, in the computer, go to your wireless software, and go to "Preferred Networks" (sometimes called "Profiles" ). There are probably a few networks listed. Delete any network named "linksys". Also delete any network that you do not recognize, or that you no longer use. If your current network is not listed, enter its info (SSID, encryption (if any), and key (if any) ). Then select your current network and make it your default network, and set it to automatic login. You may need to go to "settings" to do this, or you may need to right click on your network and select "Properties" or "settings".
If the above does not fix your problem, download and install the latest driver for your wireless card.
Some users have reported improved wireless performance by switching to WPA encryption.
If you continue to have problems, try the following:
For wireless g routers, try setting the "Transmission Rate" to 54 Mbps.
If you still have trouble, download and install the latest firmware for your router. After a firmware upgrade, you must reset the router to factory defaults, then setup the router again from scratch. If you saved a router configuration file, DO NOT use it.
    Hope this helps.

  • Flash CS3 running slow...please help

Flash CS3 is running very poorly under leopard. I can't even scrub the timeline without having it lag. Is anyone else having the same issue? I'm worried because its one of my main apps that I use. Adobe says that it is fully compatible with Leopard but it doesn't appear that way to me. I haven't tried running it in Tiger yet. Do you think it would run better in Tiger? Does anyone have a solution?

Go to adobe's web page and download and install the latest update.

  • Is LR6 SLOWER for anyone else? Major issue for me...

    So I updated CC.  I'm running a Macbook Pro Retina, 10.9.5, 2.3Ghz i7, 16Gb RAM
Imports are WAY slower now than they used to be.  I convert to DNG & create Smart Previews.  I don't know what's changed, but it is way slower than it used to be.
Also, when editing photos via Smart Previews, sometimes the photo takes WAY too long to load....it just stays pixelated.  I'll move on to the next photo or plug in the external drive...but LR5 never did that.
I'm not sure what is happening with these "performance enhancements" but I'm definitely not seeing it.
Any way to get this to speed back up? I've got 2 weddings next weekend & I can't stay up all night importing photos.

Try turning off the GPU acceleration. It's under Preferences/Performance.

  • Executable jars are running slow for certain features

A weird problem occured one day. I started running my old jar -packed application. It took more than a minute to load the main window. Also updating file browser window is really slow when I browse from a folder to another. I also tested running other jar applications and they have similar problems. Everything works but certain task are extremely slow.
I reinstalled jre1.6.0_07 but it did not help. Then I uninstalled all jdk's and jre's and installed jdk1.6.0_07 which came with jre1.6.0_07. No result. Do you have any idea where the problem is or what I could try next?

    Problem solved.
It was the mingw that I installed as full installation. Full installation came with a java compiler, which made some specific java features really slow.
Another problem was uninstalling it in a way that would have restored java as it was. I tried uninstalling mingw, manually removing mingw folder, cleared environment variables, removed and reinstalled all java etc. Finally, I just reinstalled everything beginning from OS on my computer

  • Does Clamshell mode run slower for you?

I've seen people asking questions regarding mighty mice in clamshell mode and then noticing a difference in mouse performance when in open display mode, but thats not my issue.  I have a 2011 13" 2.3ghz i5 MBP and using it in clamshell mode.  i have a small app running in the background called ifreemem that shows how much ram is being used and right now with only itunes and safari (to write this) open, I'm showing 75% of ram usage of my stock 4gb.  Granted, I'll soon be updating to 8gb, but I'm just wondering if this is normal.  I'm using a mini dvi adapter to connect to my 19" LG LCD TV/Monitor.  Any comments are appreciated.

To help with heating, place the MBP in the bookarc upside down, so that the fan vents (at the display's hinge) are facing up. This will help to avoid internal heat buildup towards the battery and HDD. Sure, the exterior apple logo will also be upside down as it stands, but it's also not light up and small price to pay for peace of mind.
Most of the heat from CPU intensive apps should be at the bottom case, towards the top side (hinge), and at the vents along the screen's hinge (from the fans), so less heat on the display itself through the keyboard. The heat will also go right out from the top of the MBP in this case, and not out from the bottom (if MBP is placed with apple logo right side up), which will help to keep the MBP cool in general.
