Cs3 serial number question

how do I find a serial number on an old photoshop cs3 program so I can prove that I was a previous owner and get a discount on the cloud

Did you register your program with Adobe? It would be here under your account.
Adobe ID
If not you should have the box with the serial number inside.
If not, you should have it on a text file stored in your Documents folder.
If not, and you just want Photoshop, the Creative Cloud Photography plan | Adobe Creative Cloud for $10 a month is a great deal.

Hi All, I have two questions. First of all my CS3 is saying that it is installed on more than one machine, is there a way of seeing what machines my serial number is registered to? If i want to buy another CS3 serial number how do i go about it? I cannot afford to move to the creative cloud.....

there's no way for you to identify which machines have or had cs3 activated, and you can no longer purchase a cs3 license from adobe.
you can request an activation count reset (Contact Customer Care) and deactivate your cs3 on all your computers.  you can then install and activate on up to two computers.

  • Why isn't my CS3 serial number qualified for CC promotional membership?

I am trying to buy the CC membership but with the promotion for clients. When i put the cs3 serial number it tells me i am not qualified. Why does this happen?

I only recently discovered the reason it didn't work for me (I'd put this question to Creative Cloud's Facebook page also, and an Adobe Power-That-Be replied via that): My serial wasn't accepted because it was an Education version.
I hadn't thought of this, as there was no 'Student & Teacher' or similar indication on the packaging, and its initial purchase was so long ago I don't remember where I got it or for how much. But I see I registered it around the time I graduated Media Design School, so I must have taken advantage of the student discount opportunity. It doesn't surprise me then, that having saved considerable coin there, Adobe would consider a CC discount to be a double dip.

  • Lost CS3 serial number and email I used from that purchase is no longer valid, now I cannot reinstall my CS5 after wiping my hard drive clean from a computer problem.

Bought CS3 about 7 years ago under an email address that's been closed for many years and I lost the serial number from that old CS3 and now after doing a clean wipe of my hard drive after some computer glitches, I can no longer install CS5 upgrade as I cannot produce the CS3 serial number. No monkey business, I've been using CS5 since 2011 when I bought it directly from Adobe. What are my options?

Is it possible for you to log in to your OLD Adobe account using that email address to check your history?
https://www.adobe.com/account.html for serial numbers or subscriptions on your Adobe page
If not, you MAY be able to have an employee look up the information linked to that old email address
Adobe contact information - http://helpx.adobe.com/contact.html may help
-Select your product and what you need help with
-Click on the blue box "Still need help? Contact us"
If that doesn't work, you are going to have to buy new... either a subscription or Creative Suite 6

  • Upgrade from CS3 to CS4 won't accept CS3 serial number

    Hi
I bought a downloadable upgrade to CS4 Design Premium a couple of weeks ago, installed OK, accepted the new serial number but when it asked for my CS3 serial number it won’t accept it. I have contacted Adobe Support and they told me that I needed to reinstall as they thought that it was doing this because I hadn’t chosen International English as the language and my original CS3 was set to International English. I did this but it still won’t accept my old serial number and I am having to use the programmes as a trial version. I have contacted Adobe again but it has been a week now and no response – has anyone else had this problem? I am getting concerned about what will happen when the trial runs out!
    Thanks for your help
Message was edited by Jochem van Dieten: removed attached image with serial number

Downloaded OK – Installed OK – when I open any of the programmes I get a Software Setup box that opens asking to choose the option of using the product on a trial basis or inputting my serial number – I input the new CS4 serial number and that is OK – then you click next and it brings up an Upgrade Check asking you to select a product that you already own (this is only a drop down menu of CS3 items, i.e. Design Premium, Master Collection etc) and asking you to input the serial number for this product – this is where it is falling over – I  input my old CS3 serial number and I get a cross and a box that comes up saying <The serial number you have entered does not match the product you have selected. Please try reentering the serial number, or selecting a different product from which to upgrade> this is where I am putting in my CS3 Design Premium serial number and it won’t accept it even though it is correct and is even listed under my Adobe Account as CS3 Design Premium!
    Hope that makes more sense

  • CS6 update will not take my CS3 serial number

I paid for the update for CS6, moving up from CS3.  I paid the $300, downloaded, installed, input the serial number for CS6.  The screen then asks for the CS3 serial number, I put the number in at least ten times (no typo's) tripple checked "My Adobe" again and again.  I have the correct serial number for CS3, but upon validation of "Serial number upgrade", after choosing CS3 from the dropdown menu, I input the number, and it keeps saying, "This serial number is not for a qualifying product, please try another".
Thanks so much in advance for any help

Contact Adobe support , they will do the Unlocking for you and will check the reason for this.
For details refer :- Error:- "this serial number is not for a qualifying product"

  • HELP!!! Not your average Serial Number question!

Hey guys, I'm in a bit of a rut. I'm not asking for a serial number, I just need to know where on my computer to find it.
    STORY:
I had to erase my mac because Avid messed it all up. Yay Avid!. Anyways, I'm covered for backups though. I have a time machine backup, a bootable external that I cloned as my hard drive pre-erase, and a disk image of my computer pre-erase.
I'm reinstalling all the apps, including FCS 2, but I got the upgrade version. I no longer have the box for Final Cut Studio 1 (or 5.1 or whatever we're calling it) but I have the serial number that I wrote on a post it fromthe last time I did this. My handwriting is legible, but for whatever reason, the FCS installer is accepting the FCS2 upgrade serial, but not the FCS1 serial. Since I have so many copies of my computer pre-erase, I remember before I was able to find a file (can't remember which program, possibly FCP) that had the serial number somewhere in the library folder.
QUESTION: Is there somewhere on the copies of my hard drive pre-erase where that FCS1 serial could be hidden? I need it so I install FCS2, without which, is worthless . And so am I, without my editing software :P.
THANKS GUYS! You're always a big help.

I no longer have the box for Final Cut Studio 1 (or 5.1 or whatever we're calling it)
Do you have the original Apple-branded disks for FCS 5.1?
    y/n
No disks = no software just a stolen serial number written on a post-it note.

  • Lost CS3 serial number and installation disc

I am re-installing Adobe CS3 Master Suite to a new PC. The original installation on the old PC was done by someone who have left the company and also the installation CDs and serial number are not able to be located.
I have since manage to download the CS3 software from Adobe website, but I forsee I'll be stuck when they prompt me for the serial number. I don't have the Adobe ID the former employee used to sign in to the Adobe website or make the purchases. Can you please advice?
Also, at which stage do I deactivate the CS3 from the old PC and activate the CS3 on the new PC?  Can I first activate the CS3 on the new PC first while ensuring that the old PC is powered off and not being accessed in order to ensure that the CS3 is working fine before I deactivate the CS3 on the old PC.

A single user license allows for activated installations on two machines.  So you can leave the original installation working while you figure out what you can do to turn the former employee's software into yours.  I do not see a solution myself if the former employee purchased the software and used their own Adobe ID for it.  The company should have managed that aspect if the plan was to retain ownership of it.  You might have to contact the former employee to get the software license properly transferred.
    Transfer an Adobe product license

  • CS3 Serial Number doesn't hold (network accounts)

I work for a school and we recently purchased Photoshop CS3 (w/ a 30-user site license) for our students to use in the computer graphics (CG) lab (all intel macbooks). We created an image with PS on it (along with the serial number, done as an admin) and applied the image to all CG computers. We also use a file-management system called Filewave to push out updates en masse instead of applying updates to individual machines.
When the students first started using the program it worked fine, no problems. They logged into their network accounts and PS ran great. However, and I'm not sure about this, but when the 10.0.1 update came through, it knocked out the serial number. Now, every time a student wants to use PS, he/she has to enter the serial number (the teacher has it in big letters up on the chalkboard, permanently).
Since that happened, I've seen it happen on two other machines (another macbook and a brand new iMac) but they are both on network (mobile) accounts. I've got CS3 on my machine and my principal has it on his (macbook pros, neither are networked) and we haven't had any problems.
I've been working on one of the CG macbooks through an admin account to try to figure out what the problem is. I did a clean uninstall (I think...the Adobe Uninstaller tool has never worked -- I get a JavaScript Alert - installer database invalid -- so I used the mac CS3Clean tool provided by adobe and deleted anything related to adobe - a mistake??). When I reinstalled the software, it installed without any errors and it took the site serial number. I restarted the machine and shut it down, and was able to get into PS without a problem. As soon as I apply the 10.0.1 update and restart, I get the prompt for a serial number again. I did another clean uninstall and reinstall, and now even without the update I get prompted for the serial number every time ( I haven't even logged into a network account yet).
So now I come to you! Has anyone ever come across this problem? Is there a bug in the 10.0.1 update that won't let the serial number "stick?" Any ideas on this one? Is there a problem using this on network accounts? Any help is welcome!
    Thank you.

Got it! After spending around 3-4 hours on the phone with Adobe, we found out that the file that holds the serial number info (cache.db) was being replaced by our FileWave software. So when you enter the serial number into the adobe SN prompt, it modifies the cache.db file and allows a user to keep using PS. After a restart however, our file-maintenance software sees that there is a change to that file and promptly replaces it with an older version, thus eliminating the PS serial number.
At first this seemed kind of strange since we did not set FileWave to touch any PS files. Then we found out that Adobe Reader uses the exact same file to store its information in (which FileWave was set to maintain). So, we turned off all maintenance on Adobe products and now we are having no serial number issues. The chalk can now be erased from the proverbial blackboard. In retrospect, it looks like the 10.0.1 update had nothing to do with anything, it just turned out to be coincidental timing.
Thanks for all of your help!

  • I can't write Web Premium CS3 serial number

    Hi,
I am working as a graphic designer since 1992. I have alwas been working with Adobe products.
I still have PageMaker 6.5 and Photoshop CS. I want to activate WebPublisher CS3 but the serial number is in part erased from the DVDs box. I know it is a very old application but they still work on the new Mac OSX system. My order number for InDesign and WebPublisher CS3 is A72887360 - Invoice number is 4150109
I just want to work again with these applications. I never had problems installing them and activating them until today. Maybe you can tell me why.
The InDesign CS3 is working well on the Mac but I have problem activating WebPublisher CS3. Maybe you can send me back the serial number and I will write it on a text file.
I am trying to sell WebPublisher CS3, so I will be able later to buy the new Design CS5.5, I am a poor designer :-)
Years ago my Adobe products were registred with this email : [email protected] - I have changed to my real name today.
Thank you for your help. I need to make a new PressBook to find some work and I need WebPublisher to function properly. Also I am working with another Organisation for free and I don't want any copyright problems with Adobe.
    Thank you for your help!
    Tom

Egoworld I am not familiar with a WebPublisher application from Adobe.  We previously had GoLive and then our current web publishing application is Dreamweaver.  Could it be either of these applications which you are trying to install?
The other option is that WebPublisher might be a third-party add-on which works with InDesign CS3?
