CS3 Standard - Has stopped working

I have just begun receiving error messages,"Adobe[Program]CS3 has stopped working..A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available. This happens when I try to open Illustrator and Photoshop.
These programs have worked perfectly until the other day, I have searched the forums for solutions and also have gone through Customer Support but have not found the correct information.
My OS is Windows Vista Home Premium, 32bit.
I cannot isolate what would have caused this except for some updates from Adobe. Please advise, thank you.

Can you do a system restore to a point before the problem started?
If so, you can try doing any updates again, and do them one at a time, then test, to be sure things still work.

  • Phsp CS3 - License has stopped working - How to access new install version for download?

Please help! I just finished a session with Adobe and they told me to use the Forums for a solution to my issue.
Bought a new iMac with Mavericks OS/X. Photoshop CS3 will not open due to a "license has stopped working" error message. I asked the Adobe support person for a link to download a replacement copy and he gave me a link that gives a 404 error on the Mac dmg download page,. I am ready to install PS CS3 but first need to have a usable dmg download link. The tech support person assured me that experts on this forum can help. My question is WHY did he send me to a non-working link?
Thanks for any advice you can give that really works! :-D

I get the "License has stopped working" mesages too.
We have a MacbookPro at home. There are two user-acounts on this mac, one for my wife and one for myself. This way we keep our personal stuff (e-mail, files, settings, dropbox, desktop clutter etc) separated. "Fast user switching" is enabled to easily switch to your personal account.
Now when I open Photoshop I might get the dreaded "License has stopped working" message. This will happen if Photoshop is left open in her account. So I'll have to log into her account, close Photoshop, go back into my own acount and open Photoshop again.
I should not get this message since Photoshop is not part of a particular user account, it is installed in the "Applications" folder which is accesible to all users.
What makes it even more annoying is that I get the "License has stopped working" message on trying to open Photoshop even when Photoshop is closed in in the other acount, but Illustrator is opened.
This makes no sense since we bought Photoshop and Illustrator CS3 as separate programs, not as a part of the Creative Suite.
I did not report this to Adobe yet but it wil do that now.

  • CS3 licensing has stopped working?

Recently my enitre CS3 Suite informed my that my "licensing has stopped working. Please uninstall and then reinstall the software." However the software disc is rejected by my 3 year old mac power book as there is some minor wear on the disc. So now what? The disc will read on a newer powermac so I tried to clone it but it is still rejected by my machine. All of the software is already on my mac but none of it will work because of this ridiculous reinstall requirement. How can I reinstall if the disc is unreadable on my mac? Is there a way to copy the disc so it WILL read?

I'm afraid this is the wrong forum.  Not sure exactly which is the right one.

  • Adobe Acrobat 9.5 (standard) has stopped working

Acrobat has always been prone to crashing on my various Windows computers throughout the years, and my current version 9.5 standard on Windows 7 64-bit is no exception. Crashes usually occur when extracting and/or deleting pages. With my almost total loss of income, in this great recession, the $199 upgrade fee for version X is well beyond my means for the foreseeable future. Anyone have any ideas on how to make this expensive software more reliable and less prone to crashing?

Yes, of course, it's up to date.  I first tried the "repair" option.  It froze (wouldn't go through the whole repair process) and I had to CTRL-ALT-DEL to kill it with Task Manager.
Then, it thought it hadn't finished the install so it tried to finish when I re-booted and froze again....
So, I tried to UNINSTALL it, and the stupid installer froze too.
I tried installing it again from the disk...same thing, hangs up half way through the install.
But, if I try and print a document using Adobe pdf, that works, and launches Adobe Pro 9 and I can use it so at least I have a work around until I can waste more time figuring out how to get this working so I can launch Adobe 9 Pro directly.

  • Acrobat 9 Standard has stopped working and must close...

This is the message I am getting whenever I try to edit a form. It's been happening about a week now. There are no updates available, and I have repaired the installation but the problem still persists. Anyone have any idea what is going on?

    Windows 7 pro x64
Only when I try to edit one particular form that contains massive amounts of radio buttons.

  • Adobe Photoshop CS3 has stopped working

Photoshop was working yesterday, but now I'm getting this message:
    "Adobe Photoshop has stopped working.
A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available."

I have the same problem. A Vista machine that's been running CS3 for several months now gives that useless error message for PS and with DW it just does nothing. I didn't spend a load of money on a product only to find I'm locked out for no reason and just wasted 2 hours uninstalling and reinstalling only to find the same problem.
This machine is used for little other than web design, no new products added recently, possible Microsoft Vista patches and Kaspersky AV updates. Closing Kaspersky makes no difference.

  • Adobe Photoshop CS3 has stopped working... HELP?

Everytime I try to make a GIF, and I select the length of the video, and press okay, a box comes out saying: Adobe Photoshop CS3 has stopped working. I've tried the "CTRL-ALT-SHIFT," but it doesn't work! Please help? ):

Oh, and I have a Adobe Photoshop CS3 Extended.

    You'll probably going to have to uninstall, then re-install the application; but you need to provide a lot more information;

I recently purchased a new desktop computer and installed Adobe CS3 Master Edition on it and I get the following error:
Adobe Photoshop CS3 has stopped working: A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.
Out of the entire suite of tools only Photoshop will not launch. The weird thing is i also had the same Adobe programs installed on my laptop and I have not made any installation updates to that machine and i am getting the same error. I have always installed the same software on my two home machines with no problem until now. Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks,

  • Windows 7   " Adobe Photoshop CS3 has stopped working "

Okay let me stir up a whole new kettle of fish WINDOWS 7 VS CS3 PHOTOSHOP.
I have Windows 7 Ultimate Edition 64bit. I am running (or trying) CS3 Master suite. Most all progams function except Photoshop. I try to load it and I get "Adobe Photoshop CS3 has stopped working" and then there is no fix and no help. Photoshop ran on Vista 64bit just fine.
I'm curious if anyone else is having this same issue? If so have you found any clue as to the issue?
I get the feeling this could be a conflict with a windows 7 update or something?
    Any fixes?

Try right clicking on the PS CS3 icon and run as admin. I can tell you that people have a lot of problems in running PS CS3 in Windows 7 and had to download the Windows XP virtual and run CS3 in virtual mode.
Anyways here is a link to the suite forums. They may have a better answer there for you.

  • Can't run FW CS3! "Licensing for this product has stopped working."

I purchased and downloaded FW CS3 this morning. I received my
serial number and once the file had completed downloading I ran the

finished without a hitch. I then tried to open the application as

  • Help! CS3 has stopped working

I get an error message from windows vista premiumm home.
It just says: Adobe Photoshop CS3 has stopped working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available. The only option is a box that says "close program". Once you close it everything goes away. It doesn't even give you a hint of what the problem could be. I installed creative suite 3 web premium on this brand new computer about 2 weeks ago. This is a first time install of this software, but when I called Adobe they said they don't offer free installation help anymore on cs3 because cs4 is out now. Anyone have a clue what I should do? I can't just uninstall photoshop, if I try it wants to uninstall all 8 programs.

try resetting the preferences, per this FAQ:

I already Uninstalled and reinstalled the product and it still does not work.

    Hi,
Try to uninstall the software again and you have to manually
    Delete the following folders:
    [Startup Disk]/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Adobe PCD
    [Startup Disk]/Library/Application Support/Adobe/caps
    [Startup Disk]/Library/Application Support/Adobe/backup
    [Startup Disk]/Library/Preferences/FLEXnet Publisher/
    [Startup Disk]/Library/Application Support/FLEXnet Publisher/
Go to Applications-->Utilities-->Disk Utility, Open it and Select the MAC HD and then click on Repair permissions.
After that try to run the cleaner tool as mentioned by kglad.
Restart machine and then try to install again.
*** Make sure , you only delete these folders if there is no other adobe applications installed on the machine. As if you have any other Adobe application of the suite ( not free applications ) then it will be a problem.
