CS3 Stopped working

The other day I got a message when I opened DW that said the
License had stopped working and that I needed to contact my system
admin or uninstall and reinstall the program. (This was the case
for all CS3 programs)
After I uninstalled I was not able to reinstall. Vista Home
Premium, CS3
Anyone had any similar issues?

I  have the same issues and have tried all of the solution here and many other places as well. Anymore suggestions

I have CS3 & CS4 master collection, both were working and some how they stopped working on my computer. I think it is a VISTA thing. They are legal copies and both downloads direct from Adobe.

I have done all the steps I can find on the adobe website, and other places I look and nothing worked.  The software was working fine, and then all of a sudden CS3 and CS4 were not working. Not sure why. But nothing has worked, from uninstalling all adobe products, to using cleanup script, to cleaning folders and registry to find any hint of cs3 or cs4. used MSconfig to shut everything off, created a new user. Tried different cleaners. I have been working on this for over a week now. I also tried what was written on this forum.
I tried to unlock the sRGB profile and was not able to unlock that. Seems like this is a major challenge for me as well as others. Any suggestions?

  • Problem on flash, cannot play movie error(Adobe Flash CS3 stop working)... help guys...

    Just a minute ago my .fla file can be played. But after several minute when I added movie clips and animations. It just crashed down I guess, Adobe Flash CS3 stop working. I'm using Microsoft Vista operating system. I have an antivirus subscription which is McAfee with automatic update. I think it's a virus or what? I dunno what to do. I got a long way already with my animation on my file. When I will start from the very beginning it would be a mess and it will consumed a lot of time.
    Four to five attempts of testing the movie:
    error msg: Adobe Flash CS3 stop working.
    After several minute, test the movie again:
    error msg: Flash CS3 memory overload, I dont know the exact error message.
    I inspect the microsoft dialog and views the problem, it says APPCRASH, Flash.exe and has several .dll and other components did not load.

    first, open flash without opening a fla.  if it opens ok, create a new fla and save it.  close flash and reopen the new empty fla and test it.
    if that all works ok, open your project fla.  save it with a different name.  close flash, reopen the renamed project fla and attempt to test it.  any problem?

  • CS3 stopped working & CS4 won't download

    Hi there,
    I'm hoping someone can help me.  I've read through the forum and can't find information which applies to my problem.
    I have been using CS3 for 2 years without any issues until 2 days ago it wouldn't open and I got this message..."Licensing for this product has stopped working".   I uninstalled the software as directed and tried to reinstall (several times) but was unsuccessful.  I have disabled my Firewall, Antivirus software etc. etc.     I am using Windows Vista and have plenty of hard drive disk space.
    After several unsuccessful attempts I decided to upgrade to CS4 (the trial version) however it will not download either.   I am receiving the "Fatal error 1603".   I have searched the support and found information regarding this error however all specific to an issue...for instance "AdobeColorCommonSetRGB".
    The error I am receiving says:
    Adobe Photoshop CS4
    Error 1603. Fatal error during installation.
    Adobe Bridge CS4
    Error 1603. Fatal error during installation.
    Adobe Device Central CS4
    Error 1603. Fatal error during installation.
    Can anyone give me some suggestions on what to do first.  I think I have most likely complicated matters by trying to download CS4 without resolving the CS3 issue first.

  • CS3 stopped working on two imac's

    Hi I really need an Adobe CS3 expert and a Mac expert's help. I have been troubleshooting two days without luck. I have been in the forum trying to solve the mystery shutdown of my CS3 software. I have an imac 2006 with Snow leopard 10.6.8.

    My daughters also have an imac (newer like 2010) and since I have two educational edition's of Adobe CS3 One is WEB the other is Design Premium. At one time I had both installed on mine, then put Design Standard on my girls computer to let my artistic 17 year ols use Photosshop for school.
    Everything has been working great untill two days ago, while in Photoshop on my computer, no error message has been seen.
    It  stopped working, the cursor became a pin head, and all options grayed and must force quit to close. Dreamweaver, Illustrator and InDesign are also no longer responding, all options grayed, and no when you open any of these a blank box pops up titled  Adobe Creavtive Suite 3 Web Premium that only has a yellow reduce function on it, or on my kids mac the box says Design STD.
    First I installed istat pro, thinking its a memory thing. (and it still might be, but I dont fully know what to do. istat pro said I have 195 GB left, so I made room - After uninstalling the CS3 I had about 203GB on my hard drive before I reinstalled. )
    I tried to reinstall, also uninstall and reinstalled. Repeated uninstall/ reinstall with cc cleaning, re booting after each step.
    I called Adobe thinking they cut me off, since ironically both computers are doing the same thing! They said they wouldnt do that. I never registered my products but have both products theS#. The person who I spoke to entered in my S3's yesterday. She said reinstalling should work.
    When I reinstall I am not asked for Serial numbers.
    Last night I uninstalled, cleaned, and then restored software from Monday. Same thing is happening. AGH!
    If was was making a living using these software products I would sign up to use the new CC. but because I am in the learning stage, I just want my CS3 back.
    Looking for a saving grace. Thanks for your help!

  • After system restore CS3 stopped working and can not be uninstalled

    I did a system restore (W7) and my CS3 apps stopped working with the message "Licensing for this product stopped functioning. Currently you cannot use this product. Solve this problem by uninstalling and reinstalling or contact support." I tried to uninstall but the installation manager returns a list of applications with red X and "unsuccessful" next to it. Reinstalling it from the dvd  returns: "Installation error, can not continue. Contact support. Internal error 2739". I do not really want to reinstall the whole system since other Adobe applications (PS CS6) work just fine.

  • Why did my copy of Photoshop CS3 stop working? The message tells me that Adobe has stopped licensing it. I love it. I want to use it. How?

    My copy of Photoshop CS3 has stopped working. I love it. I am very familiar with it. I paid hundreds of dollars for it. When I click on it (W/my MAC) I get a message that reads: "You cannot use this product at this time. You must repair the product by contacting Adobe Customer Support."
    So how do I repair it so it works again? I've called the "Chat" forum three times and they do nothing. Please help...I use this Photoshop CS3 for work.
    I have the serial number, but not the original disc which was damaged.

    I am trying to run it under Mac OS 10.9.5

    The simplest way to clear it up is usually a re-install. Here is a link to the installers: Download CS3 products. Have your serial number ready.

  • Has CS3 stopped working on Vista?

    I have CS3 Photoshop on a Windows Vista machine. Just recently, it has stopped working whenever I try to open an image. The program opens up just fine but whenever I try to do anything, an error message pops-up and Window shuts it down.

  • Photoshop CS3 stops working shortly after startup? Help!

    Sometimes it stops working during startup, but for the most part, it starts up and when I go to open a new canvas or open a file it stops working and has to be closed.
    It just recently started doing this, and I've tried getting rid of it and reinstalling, and resetting the prefrences, but it keeps happening.
    Is there anything I can do to fix this?
    I've got Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit English.

    I got it on the web, and I've never updated it because I've never had an issue in all the years I've had it
    I did the shift/alt/ctrl tonight, and it didn't make a difference. I don't have any plug-ins for cs3. I'm up-to-date with computer updates as far as I know. I clean out my internet cache all the time, and I'm not sure how to do font validation.

  • My Photoshop CS3 stops working immediately upon loading

    A pop up appears saying it has encountered a problem to stop it working correctly.  I've tried to reload the software to repair it, which I'm told has been successful, but when I try to load CS3 again the problem is still there.  Please can anyone advise?  I've been successfully using CS3 for years and have never encountered this before.

    I have had CS3 on my Vista computer since 2007 (and reloaded my computer a couple of times and successfully reinstalled CS3). I don't use it much nowadays, but went to use last year and I had an error message saying that I needed to uninstall and reinstall. This was same when I tried every program in the package. So, I uninstalled and now I cannot get it to reinstall properly. All it installs is Adobe Acrobat 8 and shared components. I gave up in the end last year, but I am attempting to get it working again now...

    Disabled virus protection and firewalls
    I've checked I have enough hard drive space
    I've tried many different ways to uninstall and reinstall - all with the same result.
    I just tried the online chat support and found out that CS3 isn't supported anymore.
    Any help that anyone can give would be much appreciated!!

    I've tried every option there is in the Adobe Support Advisor under Config and Diagnose. I can't see any option to choose CS3 specifically, unless I choose a specific file - which one would that be? All that returns in the results is the failed attempt I mentioned above, to install CS5.
    What is a token number? Is it the error message? The number and message I'm getting for CS5 is: cpsid_83572r4: Error committing command when installing - Creative Suite 5.5
    Sorry, I'm really struggling with this.

  • CS3 stopped working. Having trouble installing again.

    A few years ago I purchased CS3 for use on my personal laptop. A couple months ago I received an error when opening Photoshop that told me to contact my administrator or Adobe. The programs never worked again. I ultimately uninstalled the creative suite and tried to reinstall. Now when I reinstall I get these errors (see picture). Any suggestions?

  • CS3 Stops working

    I have a Dell Dimension DXP061 /Vista/ 2.39 GH2/ 3.00 GB/ 32 bit computer and have been working with Photoshop CS3 for over 4 years now. I am a commercial illustrator and have been compositing rather large files of 1.5 -2.3 GB . Only recently the Photoshop window opaques (50%) over and a window pops up saying that Photoshop has encountered a problem and  must close. Annoying to say the least to anyone that loses minutes to hours of serious board time. I have run virus checks and maleware checks and all of my files are clean and virus free. They are created soley by me and without any aquired imagery from the web. Since CS3 falls outside the allowable boundry of support for an older product I am submitting my inquiry here to find a solution. I reset my preference for memory usage upon having these incidents but it failed to rectify the issue. I have Available ram of 1663mb and Memory usage is presently set at 1181 (it was formerly at the mid range since installment). I do save most of my files to external HD's as back up but do keep current files on my Desktop. Any help or suggestions would be very much apprecaiated. Thank you.

    Drivers you get directly from Microsoft are NOT usually the best nor most recent.  They're drivers that have passed through their Windows Hardware Quality Labs testing process, and unfortunately that almost always means they're already quite old by the time you get them.  Video card makers are making bug fixes and enhancements to most drivers actively all the time, which is why you usually want to go directly to their web site to download drivers.

  • Premiere Pro CS3 stopped working

    running on mac pro. all of the sudden the timeline would not play a video. I tried other projects and other clips. The same. Move the cursor and refresh is slow but there. No moving playback at all, audio or video. I pulled the same video clip into FCP Express and it plays fine. The same clips play in quicktime. Other programs work fine. I reinstalled the software. Any ideas?

    When things work one day, but not the next, then something has changed. Unfortunately, the trick is to find out what has changed.
    One thing that happens often on the PC-side of the street is that OS updates can kill video and audio drivers. Because PrPro and FCP likely access the video sub-system differently, that could explain why one would work fine, but not the other. Have you had any OS updates that coincide with the failure of PrPro? Any new hardware or software?
    I have some trouble shooting tips, but they are for PC's and probalby do not have any equivilent on the Mac-side. Sorry.
    Do not know if Mac's have something like Windows' Restore Points, where one can roll back the OS to a previous date. This could help pinpoint an OS update, or the installation of other software, that is getting in the way.
    It sounds like you are getting the program to launch, but it is in a frozen state. You might want to investigate your OpenGL in your video sub-system. I know zero about how, or even if, Mac's use OpenGL, but this has caused some issues on PC's.
    Since I know little of Mac's, I'm only guessing and most of those guesses are filtered through the PC's.

    When I try to poen a file a receive an error image "the specified module could not be found.C:\programFiles\common Files\adobe\adobe Version CyeCs3|3.1.0\VersionCueUI.DLL". When I tried to reinstall it, I only end up having only DreamweaverCS3 reinstalled. The rest failed.
    Do I uninstall before reinstalling it?
