[CS3] Unable to open CS4 created .inx file

I ran into an error when attempting to open an InDeseign CS4 generated .inx file which was created off-site in CS3. The error nortification I received stated that it was due to an "unterminated CDATA section."
CS3 is curently at 5.0.4 on a Mac platform (I unfortunately neglected to write down my work computer's specs before heading home if processing chip type and OS version may be a factor in this).

One of the major problems in FTP transmission is that too many FTP clients try to be too cute in second-guessing what type of file you have and helping you by attempting to convert line endings between CR-only, LF-only, and CR-LF combinations. Such conversions may have made sense twenty years ago, but today, such conversions may be disastrous. Always use "binary" transmission mode to assure that neither the sending client or receiving client muck around with any of the characters in the files being transmitted. Personally, I lock-down my clients to always use binary and never to attempt to guess at file types.

Unable to complete 'Opening or creating preferences file' in Acrobat 9

I'm using Windows, and just updated to Acrobat 9. (Installed Pitstop and quite imposing) and when i go to 'Edit' or quite imposing i get the following error message:

This file may be read-only, or another user may have it open. Please save the document with a different name or in a different folder.
Can someone please supply an answer to fix it?
The files are not read only or opened/saved by another computer...

Unable to open or create file ... Permission denied

I'm a new user of LC Designer ES. After creating and saving a form, I made changes and now cannot save. Error message in Log tab of Report palette says "PDF generated successfully. Unable to open or create file [file name] Permission denied." Any ideas why this would happen, and how to fix?

If the file is already opened in another application (like Acrobat or Reader) then you wodul not be able to save it as those apps put a lock on the form.

Illustrator CC crashes on opening or creating a file

Out of the blue Illustrator CC has decided to crash immediately on trying to open or create a file.
I am on a 64 bit windows 7 machine.

Here is the usual list (including the usual suspects in Item 7 in the link in Step 5)) that Monika refers to (the non destructive preference resetting is Step 4):
You may try the following (you may have tried/done some of them already) and see whether it helps (the following is a general list of things you may try when the issue is not in a specific file; 3) and 4) are specifically aimed at possibly corrupt preferences):
1) Close down Illy and open again;
2) Restart the computer (you may do that up to 3 times);
3) Close down Illy and press Ctrl+Alt+Shift/Cmd+Option+Shift during startup (easy but irreversible);
4) Move the folder Other options (follow the link with that name) with Illy closed (more tedious but also more thorough and reversible);
5) Look through and try out the relevant among the Other options (follow the link with that name, Item 7) is a list of usual suspects among other applications that may disturb and confuse Illy, Item 15) applies to CC, CS6, and maybe CS5);
Even more seriously, you may:
6) Uninstall, run the Cleaner Tool (if you have CS3/CS4/CS5/CS6/CC), and reinstall.

Unable to open pdf created with Acrobat Pro using Adobe Reader X

Files created with some Adobe Professional applications such as Acrobat Pro ensure the file is small by excluding font information from the file. Simple pdf creation applications embed the font in the file, which makes for transportability between apps but does make the files big.
The problem i have experienced is that Adobe Reader X is one of the simple app varieties, so is unable to open, print, or read files created using Adobe Acrobat Pro..
i'd welcome any help in (a) finding a free app that opens these 'pro pdf' files, OR (b) an option setting in Acrobat Pro which includes the font information in the file - or both!

There are so many things wrong, around a tiny grain of truth, it really isn't worth examining. Not at this stage if you are more interested in getting things working. It may be worth asking you though, since Reader doesn't even launch for you, how you came to focus on font embedding being the cause.
Ok, Reader doesn't launch. Suppose you start Reader FIRST. Then use File > Open on your PDF.

I've noticed that it is necessary to create the user textuser as ctxsys. So i've done like you recommended but unfortunately the result is the same.....
I added an utl_file Path to my SPFILE. (utl_file_dir= /home/oracle/mydocs) as you can see below. (is it necessary to something else to the spfile which i haven't noticed at all???
After that i tried to set up all by using sqlplus for having the possibility to show the results.
Below you can see the statements, the connect-Changes (ctxsys/textuser)
and the echo .
Do you or somebody else have an idea what i can do additionally to get this working???

I have Open Office installed on one of my older Macs that can't run Office 2011 and it is rock-solid.

In other words, I have installed Photoshop CS6 64-bit (using the default directory) on Windows 7 SP1 64-bit.
My computer has 4 GB of RAM and a virtual memory file of 6644 MB.
When it starts, the two above messages are displayed also with an account of Administrator type?

That is correct. the G1 X will be supported in a 7.0 dot release. The camera is currently supported in Lightroom 4.

Hi, I've been asked to join this discussion. CCleaner is a nice tool, but if you used the Registry Cleaner that came with it, it might have done something to Photoshop's registry entries. There is that danger in using them.
One thing CCleaner does is leave a backup of the registry, or you can use Windows System Restore to go to that point before you ran the Cleaner. Let's go with System Restore. Review the instructions.

Unable to open USB port device file: Permission denied

I have an up-to-date system (full "pacman -Syu" yesterday), I am in a "lp" group and the printer (Canon Pixma MP270) started to give "Unable to open USB port device file: Permission denied" error, although in the past it worked and still works in Windows. Doesn't anybody have a similar problem?

CUPS worked, I could use CUPS-PDF and localhost:631 was accessible and working.
Today I managed to print again. I did "pacman -Rcsn cups" and reinstalled it again.
My printer is Canon Pixma MP270 and so far it wasn't the best choice for Arch Linux—scanning works fine but it's like throwing a coin when it comes to printing. I've written a simple PKGBUILD for installing its printing driver as a regular package, but I don't know what to set as a license.

Unable to open Java Webstart jnlp files in Mavericks

Since upgrading to Mavericks I am unable to open Java webstart jnlp files in Safari.
When trying to open the specified URL with the jnlp file, nothing happens, the download simply will not start.
Tried different security settings in Safari & Java control panel
It affects all applications using webstart.
Java 7.45 & iOS 10.9

Can you check which version of Camera Raw is installed - it needs to be version 6.2 or later for the 60D

10.5.5 Can't open previously created Illustrator files!!

I've recently updated to 10.5.5 and now I can't open previously created Illustrator files, prior to the update, I had no problems. I get the error message- can't open the illustration with an OK box which, when clicked, opens the document in preview mode, but I can't do anything with the document!
