Cs3 updates

In Flash8 you were able to compile a .dll file using
codewarrior on mac. Creating an mxi file install the appropriate
files. Now in CS3 you have to create .bundle using xcode. mxi files
don't support it, the file is installed as a folder. Any ideas as
to fixing this issue?

I don't know the answer to that, but do you have a machine somewhere that can access Adobe.com? You can download all of the individual program updates to a central server location and run them from there, one at a time.

I know about the Help | Updates - and the updater runs
automatically
to check for updates, but my build is still at 3481.
I checked the update log detailed here:

Have I missed something ?

Problems with CS3 updates

I have been having some massive issues with trying to install an Aja Xena card on my PC which I won't bore you with, but I currently have about 40 or 50 projects I'm working on in Premiere CS3. All were going well until the attempted Aja install and I have finally uninstalled all of the Aja software and hardware and done a CS3 reinstall. Now one of the interesting things when trying to open a CS3 project when the Aja was installed was that jpgs in the timeline were stretched horizontally and bmp images which were previously there simply disappeared and would only reappear if placed in a directory higher than the project. Now Aja is gone and the reinstall of CS3 has taken place, the problems aren't evident if I don't do a CS3 update, but as soon as I do the update then the jpg images on the Premiere timeline get stretched horizontally. The bmp issues aren't there. Any ideas anyone? My workround at the moment is just to ignore the updates, but this whole episode has cost me about 3 weeks of productive work.....

Activation of CS3 update

I can't activate the CS3 update to my mac. It downloaded OK but I am told that this serial number has been activated too many times. It is brand new straight out of the box bought from a reputable dealer. I uninstalled and installed again with the same problem the deactivate button is grayed out so I can't do that, I tried all the suggestions in the knowledge base here but no luck. I tried to activate on the telephone, what a joy that was talking to some guy in India with a minimal attention span. It should work or take it back to the shop he said, I had to call Adobe support and wait an age for that gem of assistance, really. I am absolutely sure that this is a brand new unused product that I paid the full sum for so why can't I activate?

Please understand that whenever we bring up shady dealings with software, it is because it is far too common and the pirates have been getting pretty good at it.
While it IS possible that Adobe has a bungled serial number (I just went through a similar issue with Microsoft Office 2008 and a legitimate number not being recognized by their automatic registration system), it is very uncommon for a number not to be recognized -- unless that serial number was either incorrectly keyboarded, or it already belongs to someone else.
I would suggest that you call customer service again, but request to speak to a supervisor in the States.
We all know that customer service for a number of large companies is farmed out to India or elsewhere because it's cheaper -- but it's often not as good as American-based support. And that's a balance the companies are willing to live with. However, whenever I've had problems dealing with off-shore support (difficulty with the accent, their understanding the problem, or their general knowledge), I request and generally get someone who can do a better job with helping me.
Would you mind telling us where you bought the software?

Adobe CS3 Updater is not detecting any update!

Hi;
I just installed the Creating Suite 3 (included Photoshop, Illuctration, InDesign and Acrobat 8 Pro) on 3 workstation.
This CS3 package I buit a long time ago; it is the version 10.0. The last CS3 update is version 10.0.1.
So, the adobe update which I launch from Photoshop | Help | Update shuold detect updates for my CS3; however, it doesn't!
In stead, it's giving this msg: "There is no update available at this time. Please note thatt some updates for the following products cannot de determined at this time: Adobe Update"
I have been trying to troubleshoot this problem for 2 days; however, there haven't any solution!
Note:
About 2 weeks ago, I installed CS3 on another 3 computers using the same installation parkage. And they are runing as expected.
I have contacted Adobe Support by phone and chat. They all confirmed that the update server for CS3 is functioning.
If anyone has any clue or solution, idea, please help me!

The way I see it is that since CS3 is no longer supported [since CS5.5 is the current version], there will be no more updates for CS3. The only application that's still updated is Adobe Acrobat Professional 9 [from CS3.3], and those are released quarterly [4 times a year] on a regular maintenance schedule from Adobe until that stops. Keep in mind that Adobe Acrobat also uses a different Adobe Updater after Acrobat version 9.2.0, and that updater doesn't have the same issue as the CS3 updater does.
So, what I've been doing for new deployments and prepping machines is installing CS3, setting the clock back to October 1, 2011 or earlier, running all updates, and setting the clock back to the current date. Make sure you remember to set your clock back to the current date, especially if you chose an earlier date like January 1, 2011, because the Acrobat updater won't run if the clock is set too far back.

CS3 update

I bought my CS3 Design Premium in 5/2007. The software version in the disc was unstable, but later updates made it work well. Now, I have a new iMac and I installed CS3 into it, I was no longer able to update the software. Adobe doesn't support CS3 updates any longer.
Is it possible to update my CS3 anyhow?

I've forgotten the exact chain of events with the Installer disk (it's been quite awhile since I've worked with it), but once you are booted up on the DVD and you've gotten to an installer window onscreen I think you can just choose not to hit "continue" (or whatever the button is to start the install) and instead just move your cursor up to the main menu bar at the top of your screen, pull down one of those menus and find Disk Utility (or at least a choice for "Utility" up there). Just choose the appropriate menu choice and you should be able to begin fixing the hard disk.
Hopefully someone else will stop by who has more accurate instructions for you to follow...sorry I can't be of more help here.

CS3 update failure on Mac OS 10.6.8

Running CS3 on Mac OS 10.6 and updates do not download, specifically for Acrobat 8 Professional v 8.1.5
updates 8.1.3 , 8.1.4 , 8.1.5 , 8.1.6 repeatedly prompted but never able to download
Individual updates downloaded from support site do not load with message that Adobe and or Safari are open when not
This has been a problem for well over a year.

Also you should be seriously considering not using Java at all, it's a security nightmare.
Or disable it when not in use, via the browsers preferences especially.

Adobe Photoshop CS3 updater quits

I recently bought the new iMac and I installed my Adobe CS3 onto it. Everything seems to be working fine but the Photoshop updater would quit upon opening. So I can't get the needed updates to view my RAW files. Also, when I tried to go and download the updates myself, Photoshop shows me this; "Could not complete your request because Photoshop does not recognize this type of file." Is there anything I can do to fix this problem? I am using iMac OS X 10.9

The updater for cs3 doesn't work anymore on either windows or mac, probably because adobe disabled it on their side.
When you download the 4.6 camera raw update, it's a manual install.

Meaning you need to mount the DMG file and then drag the Camera Raw.plugin that is inside the DMG to the right folder
after removing the old camera raw plugin to the trash bin.

CS3 Update Error

I upgraded from OS Snow Leopard to Lion. CS3 was previously installed and works fine w/ the minor exception of automatic updates. I receive the following error: "You can't open the application BSPATCHH b/c PowerPC applications are no longer supported." Although not fully related, I downloaded the script to remove Rosetta (an Adobe support), but the error continues. Adobe Tech Support is surprised that my CS3 even works in OS Lion, but it does, and works fine - except for the updates. Any ideas as to a fix for this relatively minor bug/issue?

There are no updates for CS3 and FWIW, I would never consider doing an upgrade installation of any operating system. It's nothing short of a crapshoot.
If everything is running fine, then be thankful.

Photoshop cs3 updater

when i launch photoshop cs3 10.1 the updater launches and then crashes.
photoshop is now also crashing after opening a few large files.
the files are 700MB. so they are big, but i have been working these same files for weeks.
i am running OSX 10.6.2 on an i-mac 27inch, 2.66GHz intel core i5 with 8 GB RAM
acrobat is also crashing upon launch.

so i have figured the adobe updater problem by using this , it seems to have fixed acrobat too(??):
but photoshop is still crashing.
it seems to crash with images over 500MB.
it crashes very quickly if i don't let the icon come up before clicking on open.
but even after waiting and then opening it still crashed!
has anyone had anything like this before?

CS3 Updates cause programs to not work with Windows 7?

Has anyone else had their programs stop working after an Adobe update was installed? Although I have been told by 5 different Adobe staff members that CS3 is "not at all compatible" with Windows 7...it somehow worked on two machines for 6 months. Then a recent Adobe update caused it to not work. I could understand if it never worked with Windows 7, but it stopped working after Adobe's update. I am sure that Adobe has the resources to test their updates on Windows 7 machines and would have found this problem. What would make them proceed with giving their customers this update...hmmm maybe the release of CS5???
I also asked if they could send me a CD (since I chose a download) of the original CS3 suite without the updates and they told me that they don't have any. Really??? Adobe doesn't have any copies of a program that is only 3 years old?

Dreaded CS3 Updater Loop/Hang

After a new installing CS3 (from DVD) and launching Photoshop, Adobe Updater launches automatically in the background and promptly goes into a 100% CPU loop. It's hung at the dialog

The dialog shows an empty progress bar. In ProcessExplorer there's one thread and it seems to be hung in CreateThread. ProcessExplorer also shows that it has one TCP socket open with a connection to an Akamai server. Wireshark shows that there was some initial traffic (a few dozen packets) consiting of XML data, and then nothing other than keepalives being exchanged. No data transfer in the last 20 minutes.
The process is not killable. I have to reboot the machine, and that takes 15 minutes to complete.
I know the Adobe Updater that shipped with CS3 (on the media) had severe problems. Is there a way to download a more recent CS3-compatible installer? Another solution to get past this hang?

I FOUND THE SOLUTION!!!!!
Navigate to the Applications->Utilities->Adobe Utilities->Adobe Updater 5 and then launch the update util. If you launch it manually from there, IT RUNS!!!

CS3 update locked up all apps!

Started my computer this morning, got a message for an update to CS3. I had to close Firefox to run the update, which seems to have run thru - got no error messages. But, now none of my programs will run, not Adobe, not Firefox, not Mail, nothing! On restart (one of about 6 or 7 already this morning) I may be able to start Mail, but then no other programs. Or I can start Firefox and Mail, but then Mail is the only operating program, all others are locked up. Including Finder!!! I can't trash anything, can't run Disk Utility (altho once i was able to run that and repair permissions - about the 2nd restart that was).
It is totally locked up now - no FInder, no programs. How can I get back to where I was yesterday - do I have to reinstall the OS and all programs?
I'm on a G5 iMac powermac system, running 10.5.4.
Any help is greatly appreciated!
