CS3 Video Preview

Why can't I preview menus in Encore CS3? It worked in CS2, but depite checking all the right boxes and settings nothing?  Works fine in Pr and Ps CS3 too on the same PC. Is this a known feature?

  • Video preview during capture CS3

    Video preview during capture is not working even though settings are at preview video and audio during capture.
    The work around seems to be to go ahead record anyway (red button) then it works after I paste the captured audio onto the timeline.
    When pasting it to the timeline the video appears. The video appears during subsequent captures. It seems like a bug in CS3. This was not a problem with PP 1.5
    Thanks

  • Flash CS3 Video Encoder: No preview

    [note: I posted this earlier in the Flash Media Encoder forum
    -- which I thought was the same product as the video encoder.
    Apparently it is not! I did not see a forum specific to the video
    encoder, so I'm posting here.]
    Greetings.
    I'm getting no video preview in the Flash CS3 Video Encoder
    when attempting to adjust settings. I can scrub back and forth and
    set cue points, but the entire video preview is black. I've tried
    several source files encoded with several different Quicktime
    codecs and in a few different formats including .mov and .mp4 -- no
    difference. The source files play fine and actually encode just
    fine with the encoder, but the lack of preview to adjust cropping
    and other setting is non-optimal, to say the least.
    Anyone else experiencing this? Any solutions?
    Here's my setup:
    -- PowerMac Dual-Core 2x2.66 GHz Intel Xeon
    -- 30-inch Cinema Display
    -- NVIDIA GeForce 7300 GT graphics card
    -- Mac OSX 10.5.2
    -- Quicktime Pro 7.4.1
    -- Most recent version of Flash CS3 Video Encoder

    I to am having the same problem with the flash encoder. Added
    a wmv file and a mov file to the queue and I get the same results.
    I do however see the first frame of the movies. Cannot set in and
    out points because the first frame displays while scrubbing.

  • Cannot see video preview while editing

    Years ago, I captured and edited a movie I had made, using an earlier version of Premiere. Today, I want to do some re-editing, but even when I render the entire video, I cannot see the video preview, though the audio plays just fine. I'm using Adobe CS3 on a Vista system.
    The video is a 3.6 gigabyte .mpg file, and plays perfectly when not in Premiere. When in Premiere, all I get is a blank green screen instead of the preview window. It's hard to google the error, because, of course, "green screen adobe premiere" gives a LOT of tutorials, heh. The computer is a new, dual-core system that exceeds all of the system requirements for Premiere.
    I don't know where to begin fixing the problem, which I've bashed my head against for weeks now. Helping me will bring you great karma in this world and the next, I assure you.

    Based on reading a LOT of problem reports, importing files from a DVD camcorder or other MPEG device, or Ripping DVD files rarely results in success in Premiere... do not be fooled by movie industry advertising into thinking that "DVD Quality Video" is suitable for EDITING... it is not... a DVD is designed to be for PLAYBACK only... and that includes trying to edit a Standard Def MPEG or VOB file!
    You should also use WAV sound files, not the compressed MP3 format, To work with AC3 files in Premiere, it MAY work to copy the ad2ac3dec.dll file from the Encore DVD directory into the Premiere directory
    Go to my notes page http://www.pacifier.com/~jtsmith/ADOBE.HTM
    Click the internal link for editing compressed files... read, there are some ideas & links there
    There are other products better suited to your task (read at the link above for a partial list) but if you only have DVD type files, you should convert to DV AVI... go to the VideoHelp link in my notes and look for a program to convert... but do be aware that converting from a HIGHLY compressed viewing format back to an editing format is going to cause a drop in quality
    The only SD (Standard Def) files that Premiere really likes are DV AVI type 2

  • Button video previews.  Help!

    I am currently working on a DVD project that requires a single video preview pane that shows video based on the focus state of a button.
    For example if my Menu has 8 buttons, when 1 button is focused the preview window shows an associated clip. The idea is that when the focus state moves to button2, the preview pane will show alternate clips for button2.
    Is this possible in Encore CS3, and can anyone provide information or links that could help me accomplish this goal.

    Auto-activate works by activating the menu button as soon as it is selected.
    So on the first menu, the first video clip is visible in the button, and the link for that button is set to the timeline that is supposed to play.
    If the user navigates to the second button, then it is automatically activated and the user is taken to a duplicate menu of the first, only this time video 2 is playing in the thumbnail. If the user presses Enter on the remote, then timeline 2 plays. If the user navigates to button 3 or back to button 1, then the auto-activate feature takes them to the appropriate duplicate menu and the process is repeated.
    This technique involves lots of menus, lots of complex linking and many opportunities for error. And even if you get it right, the DVD won't work correctly (and the illusion will be spoiled) on a software DVD player. When the user hovers the mouse cursor over the button on a software DVD player, that gesture is insufficient to trigger the auto-activate feature, so the menu won't change to its duplicate.
    If you have background audio and/or video in the menus, then be aware that the video and audio will start over when the menus change. Again, this will spoil the illusion on *any* DVD player.

  • No more audio or video preview in column view?

    weird one... on my powerbook (g4) i suddenly have no ability to play/preview audio or video file in column view in the finder. works fine on my desktop machine with the same os and such...? highlighting a file just gives its name and dates and such, no ability to preview.
    using 10.4.8 and QT 7.1.3. tried updating prebinding (and other normal quickfixes). think i might need to reinstall quicktime?

    well, yes i tried all the basic quick fixes. (plus diskwarrior and applejack, etc.)
    i thought i might find it in some of the preferences of finder or quicktime but no go.
    the weirder thing is that if you highlight an audio or video file in the column view, while it gives no audio or video preview, if you click on the "get more info" button (or command-i) there will be the audio or video preview.
    ???

  • Getting the following message on Final Cut Express "audio only capture selected video preview disabled" how can I get the video capture back?

    I'm getting the following message on screen when attempting to capture video  "audio only capture selected, video preview disabled."  How can I get the view preview back?

    FCE doesn't allow for audio only capture, it's in a twist somewhere.
    Try trashing the FCE preferences.

  • How to tell whether video preview is working?

    An app shows video preview with code essentially the same as in
    the MSDN document:
    async void ShowPreview(object sender, RoutedEventArgs e)
    if (mediaCaptureMgr == null)
    // Using Windows.Media.Capture.MediaCapture APIs
    // to stream from webcam
    mediaCaptureMgr = new MediaCapture();
    await mediaCaptureMgr.InitializeAsync();
    myCaptureElement.Source = mediaCaptureMgr;
    await mediaCaptureMgr.StartPreviewAsync();
    It works most of the time. However, sometimes the video does not show. When this happens, myCaptureElement.ActualWidth and myCaptureElement.ActualHeight still return the correct values. This probably means at least something is working. In this case, how can
    the code tell what my eyes can see - the video is not showing?
    Hong

    Hi Hong,
    Based on my knowledge, your problem may related to the dispose of the MediaCapture object. Forget to dispose it when app suspends will result in a negative user experience for your app.
    About your question, I’ve not seen such property in MediaCapture class, so it’s recommend to create a Boolean that indicate whether the app is currently previewing video. You need to maintain this object when start or stop preview. You can find more information
    from this page.
    https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/apps/xaml/hh868171.aspx. See Step 5 section.

  • Video Preview not Working in CS6

    Before AE CS6, I was using AE CS 5.5 on my MacBook Pro (model 8,3)  and I could always go to AE Preferences:Video Preview and choose my additional monitor for previewing. I was previewing my Stereo 3d comps perfectly on my 3D hdtv through a HDMI to Mini Display Port cable.
    I now have a Mac Pro and AE CS6 and in that preference, the "Output Device" dropdown only lists Firewire and Computer Monitor Only. With my old setup, I could choose my TV and everything was great. But this new setup won't allow me to see or choose my TV.
    Please help! Has anyone else had this problem? Has something in AE CS6 changed for external monitors? I can't tell if it is CS6 or the fact that I have a new Mac Pro and it's video card might be different...

    That's a great lead. I realized that Final Cut Cut Studio 6 was on my laptop before but it is not on my new Mac Pro. FC Studio 6 includes a bunch of codecs as I recall. So I went to install it on my new Mac Pro and I got an error message that said my Mac cant install Power PC architecture (or something like that) and wouldnt let me install it. Any Idea how I can get those codecs without installing FC Pro 6?
    PS: I tried AE CS6 on my TV and it worked like a charm. There were lots more option in the Video Preview Preference.

  • Video previews not working in iTunes

    Hi all,
    I've seen this posted a few different ways without any resolution to the problem so I thought I would give it a shot.
    Video previews are not working properly for me. When in the iTunes Store and I click on a "View Trailer" for a movie or preview for a music video, a pop-up window appears in iTunes with a white background. The audio will kick in but the video never starts. I am using iTunes 9.2 (61).
    Has anyone uncovered a solution to this?
    Thanks!

    Just to clean this unresolved issue up, seemingly the problem disappeared after upgrading to iTunes 9.2.1 (5).
    Thanks!

  • Camera video preview - Random crashes and green screens

    Hello everyone,
    I am currently working on a Windows Phone 8.1 app and I need to preview video from the phone's back camera. For quite some time I've been struggling with random crashes and green screens. When these green screens appear, all camera apps become affected and
    the device needs to be restarted. Occasionally the phone freezes and only recovers after battery removal. I test the app on my Lumia 620.
    After some web search, I found references to the same problem by many users/developers of different apps. I'm really frustrated as I've tried many possible solutions with no avail.
    Here is part of my code:
    //in App.xaml.cs:
    MediaCaptureInitializationSettings settings;
    public static MediaCapture captureMgr;
    public static bool UnableToInitializeCamera = false;
    public async Task InitializeVideoCapture()
    DeviceInformation backWebcam = await GetCameraDeviceInfoAsync(Windows.Devices.Enumeration.Panel.Back);
    if(captureMgr!=null) captureMgr.Dispose();
    captureMgr = new MediaCapture();
    settings = new MediaCaptureInitializationSettings();
    settings.StreamingCaptureMode = StreamingCaptureMode.Video;
    settings.PhotoCaptureSource = PhotoCaptureSource.VideoPreview;
    settings.AudioDeviceId = "";
    if (backWebcam != null)
    settings.VideoDeviceId = backWebcam.Id;
    else
    var _messageDialog = new MessageDialog("Back panel camera not found");
    _messageDialog.Commands.Add(new UICommand("OK"));
    _messageDialog.ShowAsync();

    CaptureElementSourceAssigned = true;
    GC.Collect();
    ProgressRing2.Visibility = Visibility.Collapsed;
    ProgressRing2.IsActive = false;
    Any help towards a solution will be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you

    I will also advice that you start by following the
    Windows Store app sample.
    Is this a Windows Phone app?
    The crash/green screen only manifests itself when I suspend my app and switch to the default camera app (could be any other camera app perhaps). It happens roughly 1 out of 8 times. That's why I posted the suspension and resuming handlers, which I wrote
    according to the msdn instructions.
    I found
    this page with a sample that demonstrates the MediaCapture API for Windows Phone. Some developers have reported problems similar as mine. Has Microsoft dealt with this issue?
    I've spent quite a few weeks trying to investigate this problem, without actually knowing if it is my code that needs to be debugged. That's why I'm asking if other developers are facing similar problems.
    Thank you
    Edit: It seems that the crash/green screen can appear when suspending/switching to any app (regardless if it uses the camera or not). Also, all works fine when the app is running on the debugger.

  • Video Preview Error: Error Compiling movie. Unknown error.

    Problem in Adobe Premiere Pro CC - Rendering movie prior to Exporting.
    I have cleared all Temp and Cache files to make sure I have enough space for rendering (126GB free space), but I still get a Video Preview Error message when I try to Render or Export.
    What should I be looking for in my movie settings to clear the "unknown error"?

    05555...did you get this reconciled??? If so, what did you do....I have encountered the same window myself, today.

  • Changed Video Preview "Error Compiling Movie" "Unknown Error"

    Hi All,
    I am running
    10.8.3 OSX
    2x2.8 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon
    16gb 800 MHz DDR2 FB-DIMM
    NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT 512 MB
    AE CS6 11.0.2.11
    PP CS6 6.0.2
    So I have 2 dynamic link AE comps in my premiere sequence just with some blur transitions & simple animated graphics.
    I was having trouble with the blur quality from AE to Premiere so adjusted my Video preview settings from,
    Created a new sequence and had these settings, copied and pasted the content from the first comp,
    Unrendered my dynamic link blur works (yay) but when I try to preview render my sequence I get the wonderful error "Error compiling movie. Unknown Error"
    Any suggestions?
    I have tried opening and closing the programs, replacing the dynamic links in the seuquence...
    Thanks in advance!

  • Firewire Output for Video Preview Intermittent

    I'm experiencing a frustrating problem with After Effects these days.
    We're producing some video to be projected, so to see what the final output will really look like, I'm doing video previews using FireWire so output goes directly to the projector.
    It's been working great up until yesterday.  Was working fine until I had to restart my Mac.  Upon reboot, my the projector no longer gets any video output.
    I've tried restarting numerous times, checked all connections, etc.  Got it working again after several restarts, but after switching over to Photoshop momentarily, the video output once again disappeared.
    Any suggestions on how to regain consistent Firewire output for Video Previews?
    My setup:
    After Effects CS6
    Mac Pro
    OSX Version 10.7.5
    Firewire Output of my Mac's monitor is going to the Firewire Input on my Sony Media Converter
    RCA Video out (Composite video) going to the projector's video input.
    After Effects Video Preview preferences:
    Output Device:  FireWire
    Output Mode: Apple FireWire NTSC

    Thanks for your reply, Rick.
    I finally figured it out... I had a background application running called iCam that monitors my security cameras.  I had forgotten that it uses Firewire and was intermittently hogging the resources.  Once I quit that application, everything was good once again.
    Thanks for taking the time to respond, much appreciated!
    Mike
