CS3 + Wacom Intuos tablet: pen pressure not recognized in CS3

Photoshop won't recognize my tablet for Pen Pressure sensitivity. Under the Brush settings it has the yellow triangle that says "Pen Pressure requires the use of a pressure sensitive tablet." I've installed the latest driver for Windows 7, and the tablet works in programs like Corel Painter and Sketchbook with no pressure problems, so it's definitely Photoshop. What do I do?

I did. I have installed the latest driver for Windows 7.

  • Tablet Pen Pressure not working

I got a M708 Ugee Graphics Tablet just yesterday, I was sketching on photoshop and pressure sensitivity was working fine, then later on the same day I re-opened my photoshop tab and pressure sensitivity was no longer working, I hadn't even restarted photoshop or anything.
I checked the brush window, It's set to pen pressure but there's an ! warning saying I need a tablet with pressure sensitivity (which I do have)
I can not seem to get it to work again, I've tried absolutely everything, I uninstalled and reinstalled my tablet driver, I also uninstalled and reinstalled photoshop, and I restarted my laptop multiple times, This issue is really bugging me and I'm getting quite desperate since I spent the last 2 hours trying to solve this issue, Any ideas what I can do?

If your tablet is a USB device, try a different USB port.
Also, you might want to contact the vendor to see if they have a compatibility issue with Photoshop CC(2014).
Adobe Photoshop from CC and backward was FLASH based.
Photoshop CC (2014) abandoned Flash and now uses HTML5.
Your tablet maker may not have ported their driver to run under CC(2014) HTML5.
If you still have Photoshop CC on your system, Try using the tablet there and see if it works ok.
If it does, then contact the tablet maker and see what issues they might have.

  • Pen pressure not recognized in Photoshop CC 2014?

Hello all. I recently bought a Monoprice tablet and pen pressure works across all other programs I've tried except Adobe products. I'm really mystified; I just want to be able to draw in Photoshop and make graphics more easily in Illustrator!
It's especially frustrating because I absolutely KNOW that I have the correct drivers and installation, etc. The tablet works flawlessly in programs like Opencanvas.

Your tablet driver isn't reporting pressure correctly.
The knockoff tablet drivers usually need to be revised for each new version of Photoshop (and we have no idea why).
Contact your tablet maker to see if they have updated drivers to fix their bugs.

  • Pen pressure not recognized on samsung tablet

i just got a new windows 8 tablet and thought I would try photoshop to see how the pen works vs. my wacom.
i cannot get any pressure control in cs6.
I checked with samsung and the driver is up to date and the pen works in one note and ms photo but not cs6
samsumg claims to be using a wacom driver in their sPen but they supply the driver. The pen is essentially the wacom pen and my intuios pen works on the tablet the same as the samsumg.
any idea why cs6 won't recognize the pressure?

Samsung claims the tablet is Wacom and there is a Wacom device in the device manager. They also claim the driver I had is current.
I downloded a newer and supposed latest driver from Wacom and it did bump the driver version to 1.1.1.1.
Did not change the pressure control in other programs but also did not activate the ability in cs6.

  • Why is pen pressure not recognized by my Photoshop?

I have tried uninstalling and re-installing the newest Wacom drivers, version 6.3.7-6
I have tried uninstalling and re-installing Photoshop CC.
I have tried restarting the computer.
I have tried unplugging and replugging in the tablet itself.
Is there anything else I can do at this point??

Contact Wacom and they can walk you through troubleshooting the tablet and drivers.
Reinstalling Photoshop won't help a bit - the problem is with the tablet or drivers feeding information into Photoshop.

  • Wacom Intuos Tablet and Pen not working on new iMac with OSX 10.9.4

Hi there, I've been using an A3 Wacom Intuos tablet and pen for many years now on a 2006 iMac for my illustration work, but I cannot get them to appear or work on my new iMac with OSX 10.9.4.  I think they are the original Wacom Intuos tablet and pen.  Does anyone know if they are just out of date now and aren't supported on the new OSX 10.9.4?  Any advice would be greatly appreciated as I need to work and it's frustrating!
    Many thanks,

I have done as you suggested; I uninstalled PSE 11 and set my wife's account up as admin and reinstalled from there. Still have the same problem with my wife's account, but when I went to mine it is working correctly. Any ideas on why that would be? I'm sure it should work on both accounts. I have 2 accounts on my Mac Mini running OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard and it works on both.
Thanks for your help; at least it's working on my account so that's a great improvement.

  • Pen Pressure not working in Photoshop CS5.1

    Hello,
I've looked at a lot of questions and answers concerning pen pressure in this forum, and I've tried a lot of things to fix this problem. I have a Genius MousePen 6x8 and use Photoshop CS5.1. It's been a while since I used my tablet, but it used to work before. I rebooted my computer a while ago, so I installed the new driver from the Genius website. The tablet is working fine, even the pen pressure, but for some reason it just won't work in Photoshop. I've tried to fix it by resetting the Photoshop settings by using the Ctrl+Shift+Alt, I've reset the brush tool, I've played around with the brush options and nothing has worked.
Here is the image of the pen pressure working:
And here is the image of the settings for the brush and the pen pressure not working:
    Thank you for your time!

  • CS3 Tablet PC, pen pressure not working.

    http://i126.photobucket.com/albums/p101/Shokemn/photoshoppen.png
is what my settings for pen look like right now
but my issue is that theres no sensitivity every time i set it to "pen pressure" the little triangle pops up beside it saying I need a pen pressure sensitive tablet.
But I do have one, I have a tablet PC (laptop with a touchscreen) specifically its a HP Pavilion tx 2000.
What i'm hoping to have it look like:http://i126.photobucket.com/albums/p101/Shokemn/photoshoppenafter.png
any help would be super appreciated i dont know what to do at this point.

People report time and again that COMPLETELY removing the old driver, then installing the latest, does good things for them.
Photoshop, being an advanced application, demands a lot of the components it works with.

  • Wacom Tablet Pen Pressure stops working in Photoshop after using Lightroom Local Adjustment Brush

    Hi all,
I am experiencing a problem with my Intuos Pro Medium (driver 6.3.9w3 on Windows 8.1)
I am using Lighroom 5.6 and Photoshop CC 2014.
I an get the pen pressure to work in Photoshop without any problem. However, if I go into Lightroom and use the Local Adjustment Brush and then transfer the photo into Photoshop (Right Click Edit In => Edit in Adobe Photoshop 2014 CC) then the pen pressure stops working in Photoshop.
Really frustrating... The only workaround is to close both Photoshop and Lightroom, then reopen Photoshop, then usually the Pen pressure feature starts working again.
Has anyone experienced this before or has any idea how to fix this?
    Thanks,
    Guillaume

  • Wacom Intuos 3 pen not working in Lightroom 4

I have the latest Wacom Intuos 3 driver for my system, Windows 7 Pro 64-bit, and it works fine in Photoshop CS6, but doesn't work at all in Lightroom 4.  My Wacom mouse works, but not all that well either in Lightroom 4. I would appreciate any help that anyone can offer.

I did find out about the driver upgrade from Intuous and downloaded/installed it, and after rebooting my computer everything worked okay.  The mouse worked okay all along, but I use the pen a lot in Photoshop CS6 and Lightroom.  It was working ok in CS6 but not Lightroom 4.  Now it is working fine.  Thanks for responding.

  • Disable tablet pen pressure for eraser tool in PSE 10?

Hi, I recently bought PSE 10.
I have an Intuos 3 Wacom tablet and whenever I switch to the Eraser tool, in the brush preview icon (top left corner) I see this ~ type of a shape with narrow-pointy edges, indicating that the size-pen-pressure feature is on.
This is always true, even when I switch off all the per-pressure options via the Brush tool.
Can anyone hint how to control or at-least disable the pen-pressure feature while in the Eraser tool?
    Thank you.

One way would be to use the Basic Brushes which are not set for any pressure functions by default.
Or if you need a special brush you could save the brush without any pressure settings with the brush tool selected
and those settings should carry over for the eraser tool.
Also, you can set the mode to clear with the brush tool and that will act like the eraser tool set on the brush mode.

  • Problems with Photoshop or Wacom Intuos Tablet

My new Wacom Intuos Pen and Touch tablet came today with a load of problems.
In Photoshop, the brush size is way bigger than the painted area and I have tried everything including adjusting cursor size and hardness but nothing has worked so far. I have also tried adjusting the sensitivity of the pen but it does not change anything.
In Photoshop, lines are very jagged and does not draw smoothly. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the recent drivers and old drivers but does not work.
If anyone could help, I would greatly appreciate it.
Here is a screenshot showing these problems: http://imgur.com/VY9UYos (Although the outline of the brush is not showing, the painted area is WAY smaller than the size of the brush.)

I think you have in  Shape Dynamics the pen pressure set to Size Jitter. This causes the brush stroke to be bigger/smaller depending on the pressure.

  • PS CS6, Apple OSX Yosemite, Wacom Intuis tablet/pen problems

I run PS CS6 on an Apple Mac Pro, OS X v 10.10.3 (Yosemite), to which I recently upgraded.  When I upgraded to Yosemite I started to have problems with my Wacom Intuis Pro graphics tablet & pen.  The pen does not work smoothly with the tablet - in particular when holding down the Space Bar and scrolling around an image file it takes significantly more pressure than it should.  I have experimented with changing the Pen Pressure in the Wacom Pen Driver but that does not fix the problem.
Another problem is when using the Spot Healing Brush, rather than the immediate effect of the Tool showing, instead I get a black mark — more like I am painting with the Paint Brush & black ink.  That black mark remains until I touch the Wacom Pen to the tablet again - then the Spot Healing Brush effect appears but the black mark moves to the second point of contact.  I have been going back & forth with Wacom (Intuis) for six days and they say the pen & tablet appear to be fine, but there is some kind of conflict with Photoshop.  I do not have these problems when using the Mouse, only the Wacom Intuis Pen & Tablet.
When I open the Brush pallet, I cannot change any of the Brush Tip Shape settings.  None of them are checked, and they are all Locked.  How do I Unlock them?  Wacom tech support seems to think these PS Brush Settings are affecting the Pen.
Any other suggestions will be very welcome, I am going crazy with this problem and have spent untold hours trying to resolve it.  Thank you in advance!  Mark Weidman

I had the SAME problem. This worked for me:
Before, I was running Yosemite 10.10 on an iMac i7
I had the latest driver from Wacom (I tried a couple of older drivers, to no avail)
I'm running PS CS6, with all update
I'm using a Wacom Intuos 5 medium tablet
I was getting super bad lag while using the brush and other tools. Let's say I'd open an image to edit. After selecting the keyboard shortcut for my brush, I'd make one pass with the brush on the image. The brush stroke would be there, but it wouldn't show up in the history palette. Only after making another brush stroke would the previous action be recorded in the history palette. I was lagging real bad. In between brush strokes I wouldn't be able to change tools or even change the size of my brush. Nothing worked. I'd have to click off the image to regain control, or click the trackpad to regain control. BTW, the trackpad worked perfectly. NO lag for anything in PS. The polygonal lasso tool, one of my favorite selection tools, was basically unusable with the lag. I'd have to click several times before it would catch up and then sometime it would just randomly close the selection. So that was useless.
Ok, so that's what was happening to me. My tablet was basically useless. It took triple the time to work with it.
All I did was update Yosemite to 10.10.1 and the tablet now works PERFECTLY in photoshop cs6 for me. I'm not sure you'll get the same results but it worked for my computer. I really didn't think it would work so I was pleasantly surprised when it did.
I had tried installing older wacom drivers. Didn't work.
I tried reinstalling PS CS6 in a new user profile on my Mac. Didn't work.

  • Problem Adobe Bridge 64 bit or 32 bit and Wacom Intuos tablets on Win 7 or 8

I've recently started using the Wacom Intuos 5 tablet both at work and at home. I've enjoyed the experience for the most part, except for this one problem with Adobe Bridge.  I use the 64 bit version, but even in 32 bit the problem was apparent.  This problem appears in both Windows 7 and Windows 8.
    The Problem
After launching Bridge, attempting to select an image seems to lock the application.  You cannot select, double click, anything.  If you enable your mouse, the cursor becomes active and acts as if you had held down the mouse button and were dragging over objects.
    The Solution
After much searching I finally came across this link on Wacom's support site. It seems that if you have Windows Sticky Notes open, as I did on both machines, the Wacom tablet doesn't work as it should.  I didn't realize that Sticky Notes allowed for pen input on the notes, which I discovered attempting to edit text on them.
Shutting down Sticky Notes does indeed fix the Wacom issue.  The real question is why Bridge cares if Sticky Notes is open.

I'm having the same exact issue you've described here except that I don't use windows sticky notes
Anyone know if there are other applications that cause a similar issue?
    Thanks.
