CS3 won't see all RAM on new MacPro 10.5.3

I've upgraded to the MacPro Dual 2.8 quad core (10GB RAM) and use PS CS3. In preferences, it only shows 3GB, same I had in the G5 I migrated the program from. Doesn't it check the actual RAM? I need to update the preferences file, but don't know which one to delete. I don't want to lose all my prefs.
Anyone know how to get it to see the actual RAM, so I can assign more of it to PS?

It is easy. PS can directly address a max of about 3 GB RAM. With 10 GB RAM on board just go to PS/Preferences/Performance and set PS to use 100% of available RAM (probably it will be 3072).
The OS works with PS to take advantage of RAM above 3 GB when you have more available. PS performance will be benefiting from the extra RAM above 3 GB but you will not see it.

ITunes won't see all Aperture photos

I have a rather large Aperture photo library (30,000 photos), and I like to view various groups of photos on my iPod Touch and also on my Apple TV. In both cases, however, iTunes won't let me choose all of the available projects and albums. In some instances, it will recognize the album but won't see any photos. In this particular scenario, the album has about 1500 photos of jpeg and Canon Raw types. Is this a known problem or am I configuring Aperture albums incorrectly for iTunes compatibility?
I have Aperture 2.0.1, Leopard and iTunes 7.6.1. The iPod Touch is at 1.1.4 and Apple TV is running 2.0 of the OS.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Somewhat similar issue here. No new photos are being added to the iPhone via iTunes sync and iTunes does not seem to update itself with the Aperture library at all. I have photos in the "Last Week" smart album in Aperture (empty) while the iPhone displays 57 photos that are now pushing a month old.
The problem is exactly the same with the sync to Apple TV, so I figure the common link (iTunes) is likely the culprit -- though I guess it's possible that Aperture is not sharing the info with iTunes.
The problem seemed to have appeared with iTunes 7.6 and persists with 7.7.1. and with the most-recent Aperture update.
I completely trashed the .plist files for iTunes a week or so ago to no avail.

Photoshop CS4 not seeing all RAM on Mac?

I just noticed my Photoshop CS4 is not "seeing" all of the RAM I have installed on my MacPro (2x3Ghz), running Snow Leopard 10.6.1.
My "About This Mac" reports (correctly) that I have 6GB of RAM installed.
However, Photoshop's Preferences > Performance window says there is only "3072 MB" available -- or half what I have installed. I know there is system overhead for the OS, but this is with no other applications running.
I know the Windows version of Photoshop is limited to seeing 2GB RAM because it's 32-bit, but I didn't think that limitation applied to the Mac side.
I've run the memtest application on the Mac, and it doesn't report any physical problems with my chips.
Is there anything else I can check or try to get Photoshop to recognize all 6GB of RAM?

Surprise... you are running a 32bit app as well. That is why you cannot see more RAM for Photoshop.
(Windows installs a 32- and a 64-bit executable. Mac only installs a 32-bit app)

Itunes library too large and won't recognize all files, just new ones but

still shows the old ones and their location in the library. I was keeping the library on the 2TB external drive. It got too large. Now I want to put the music on one of the 1TB drives and just the videos on the 2TB drive. From my PC, I can watch everything.

To clarify, currently on the 2TB external drive are music and videos. I want to split them up and hopefully save some space - and maybe foresee problems in the future when I hit max capacity on the 1TB external, and think about a 4GB (not the best option I see at this time) or another 2 2TB drives.
Doesn't the Library file just save locations when iTunes closes down so everything should be OK? I mean, the prog can recognize everything, it just won't download to anything, even if I move from the external drive an older movie to the new drive, it refuses to "see" the movie so I can download it.

IPhoto won't see all my photos on iPhone

Over the years I've had numerous iPhones and I've somehow ended up with about 3000 photos now which were all in iPhone and on my iPhone 4s - some of them are original iPhone photos, some date back to 2007 and were digitcal camera photos / Blackberry pictures. I forget what I did to even get them onto my iPone but hey, they're all there now and I can see them on the iPhone
I need to get my new iMac to see these photos in iPhoto somehow. They're on my phone, so why won't it see them? It's only seeing stuff up to about 12 months ago (250 pictures or so), nothing prior to this.
I'm using an iMac 27" with the latest iPhoto, and an iPhone 5S with the latest iOS8...
Anyone got an idea how to retrieve them? ****, even if I can just get them off the iPhone and onto my iMac without iPhoto I'll be happy!

That is the problem. Syncing with iTunes is only one-way. You can sync them to your iPhone, but not back.

You can't reimport pictures synced from your computer to your device back to your computer. You can only import pictures in the Camera Roll or Saved Photos from your device to your computer. If you need to retrieve synced photos from your device:
Email them from the device to yourself.
Copy them from the emails to your computer.
Apple recommends to send the photos back to the mac by mailing them at the original size, but that will be a lot of work.
You could also try to share them to your Dropbox or a Shared Album.

Premiere Pro CS3 won't see my HD Camera

Zen 4GB won't see all so

Hi,
I bought the new Zen player (credit card size one). It locks up occasionally after unplugging it from the computer. The blue light will remain on and the player will refuse to switch back on without a reset?- not a major issue since I can just reset it. However, yesterday after adding a number of tracks to the player (WMP), the "All tracks" section of player no longer detects any tracks with names past "Li" in the alphabet?- stopping at ~230 tracks. I can't search for them either.
Strangely I can access them if I wander through album/artist sections. Unfortunately this is not ideal as I like to let the player cycle through all the songs, and I also don't always know the album/artist?The total number of tracks, being ~450 are correctly listed if I go to System > Information, however, if I go to Memory Card and choose any of the options, I receive the message "Media not detected. Please insert media." I have just updated to the latest firmware and still experience this issue. Any idea what I can do? Yeah it took me a while to find out how to do it. There's an article on it somewhere, but:?Unplug the Zen from the computer and switch it off (if it's not already)Press and hold the Play button while turning the Zen on.A new screen will appear, and one of the options will be Cleanup, select that option.Choose Reboot once that's complete

Mac won't see some files/folders on external hard drive that i know are there, pc sees them fine..

I have a external drive full of music, my mac won't see all of it , its like some files are hidden... I have formatted the drive to exFAT and copied folders I knew were missing and they won't read that way either... I have as well renamed the folder to something different, but the Mac still will not see them, but my PC sees them fine... anyone??

You can transfer the purchases you made on your old iPhone 3 by plugging it in to iTunes and doing File > Devices > Transfer Purchases from your IPhone to the iTunes on your computer. This will get music you purchased in iTunes, apps, etc. (e.g., movies).
But for the rest you would need to restore a backup of your newly deceased computer.

How do you browse the catalog by release date? I would like to see all the new releases in specific catagories but it seems that feature went away. Or can you browse the whole catalog by release date?

I have 3 airport express units, an Ipod and a PC. I used the PC to set up an airTunes and the AirUtility can see all three of the airexpresses. The Ipod displays all of the airexpresses and I can pick any one to stream music to. PC won't - any ideas?

AirUtility tells me the 7.5.2 version of the firmware is the latest for the expresses and ITunes is also reporting that there are no upgrades available. I get an error code -15000 when I try to connect from the PC to one of the expresses.

How do I configure the AX to connect to the hub's wireless network? It will only scan one base station Airport Express at a time in the Airport Utility. I think what I am trying to do is use the hub as a router to the two AX's. Is there a specific way to set this up?
To set up the AX to join a wireless network as a "Wireless Client," using the AirPort Utility, either connect to the AX's wireless network or temporarily connect your computer directly (using an Ethernet cable) to the Ethernet port of the AX, and then, try these settings:
Launch the AirPort Utility.
Select the AX.
If not already connected to the AX's wireless network, go ahead and switch to it when prompted.
AirPort Utility > Select the AX > Manual Setup > AirPort > Wireless
Wireless Mode: Join a wireless network
Network Name: <type in the network name/SSID of the wireless network that you want to join or select it from the pop-up menu>
Wireless Security: None OR, if you are using security on your wireless network:
Wireless Security: <Select the appropriate level of security for the existing wireless network: WPA/WPA2 Personal | WPA2 Personal>
Password: <enter your wireless network security password>
Verify Password: <re-enter the same security password>
Click Update to write the new settings to the AX.

Get CS3 to see more RAM

Hello all. I'm on a seemingly neverending quest to get CS3 working faster. I have a Vista Ultimate 32bit system with 4gb ram and a quadcore Q9300 processor. I have recently purchased a second 750gb Sata2 drive to use as a scratch disk.
I'm now trying to decide how to best tweak the settings in CS3 for max speed and performance. I have noticed that CS3 is only seeing like 1.6gb of ram. Vista sees the full 4gb. I have read that i need to type this under the command prompt but have been uanble to do that right...

can anyone shed some light on how to get CS3 to recognize more avaiable ram? I found some posts on here about this, but I haven't found a solution yet with them. Any reason why I shouldn't get CS3 to recognize more? Help! Thanks!

I think 64bit is your answer for everything! The system just really be great for you to recommend so often. I'm looking seriously into switching...I'm just a little gunshy as I don't want to end up with a cpu that is unusable for any lenght of time

I can see all my itunes purchases on my new iphone but it wont let me play the music or watch the videos? Can someone please help?

I have a new iphone which I backed up using icloud. I can now see all my purchased videos and music and even my itunes library but my phone wont let me play any of them. When I go into an album for example it seems to spin through all the songs and then close it down, same goes for any videos............. Not sure what Im doing wrong.
