CS3: "Your current color settings discard CMYK profiles..." warning!?!?

Why am I getting this error?
My file contains two CMYK colors, nothing else?
Saved .ai WITH color profiles...
Thanks,
Kristin.
"Your current color settings discard CMYK profiles in linked content but profiles were set to be honored when this document was created."

actually, it means exactly what it says.
When the document was created, whether by you on your machine, or by someone else on another machine, or the various possible permutations thereof, the document was initially saved with profiles of linked files set to be honored. Now you are working on it with your color settings set to discard profiles on linked files.
If you don't have any linked files, this won't affect anything with this file.
The way you have it set up now is generally the preferred way.
If you want to get rid of the warning, copy everything out of this file and paste it into a new file. Work on the new file from here on out.
Doing a "save as" might work, I've never tried that.

  • "Your current color settings discard CMYK profiles in linked content" error message

I keep getting the following error message:
"Your current color settings discard CMYK profiles in linked content but profiles were set to be honored when this document was created."
every time I open an Illustrator document. I have no idea how this setting was set and no idea how to turn it off. I am just using the standard N America Prepress color setting in Bridge.
I have tried opening new documents using the supplied Ai CS4 new document profiles, no luck. So I am assuming it's a pref that is set in the app itself, yet I have no idea how to change this setting? I don't even see anything referring to a setting like this.
I found this archived discussion: http://www.adobeforums.com/webx?128@@.59b58d84 which had no resolution. Thought I would throw it out there again and see if anyone has been able to fix this. It drives me insane having to deal with that error every time I open a saved document.

To disable the alert via scripting you can use the following line:
    app.userInteractionLevel = UserInteractionLevel.DONTDISPLAYALERTS;
Put it in a function with null return and call the fuction where you want to supress any error dialog.
Mind you this would supress all the alert dialogs of the Illustrator App.

  • Your current color settings discard CMYK profiles in linked content but profiles were set to be honoured when this document was created

    Hi,
So this dialog has been bugging me for years! Yes, YEARS! Could never get rid of it. Tried deleting Ai Color prefs file etc etc nothing. It pops up even when there's no linked content on ALL .ai files regardless.
I always have "Convert to working space" for both RGB and CMYK on and unchecked missing profiles/mismatch when opening.
Would love if someone could shed some light as I have an unusual amount of files to go through this week and it's pretty annoying to have to hit enter overtime I open a file.
    Thanks!

That means that the Illustrator document has an embedded profile.
If you want to get rid of the message, go to your Color Settings > Color Management Policies > CMYK and change that to: Preserve Embedded Profiles.

  • Your Current color settings honor CMYK profiles in linked content but profiles were set to be ignored when document was created

"Your Current color settings honor CMYK profiles in linked content but profiles were set to be ignored when document was created"
I keep receiving this message on my illustrator files. They are linked to a file in Indesign that when saved as a PDF prints the wrong colors. I have been trying to fix this for two days. I have look online for answer in forums and articles and nothing works i am completely burn out, lost and angry Please help. This is a Picture book project that can not to sent to the author in this condition.

Your Illustrator files have images linked in them?
THis message tells you that color management had been set up differently when you created the document. In color management settings you have the choice if color profiles in linked images are ignored (and Illustrator uses just the CMYK numbers) or if those profiles are honored (and Illustrator converts the CMYK numbers according to the image profile and your settings into the Illustrator document's color profile).
What makes the whole thing even more complicated is that you placed the thing into InDesign.
So there might be 4 different color profiles interacting with each other:
    1. the linked image's profile
    2. the AI document's color profile
    3. the InDesign document's color profile
    4. The export profile in InDesign.
Is your color management set up and synchronized in Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign?
Is it possible to place the images directly in InDesign? That is: create vector content in Illustrator and have photos separately? Then combine them in Illustrator?
How do you know they print the wrong colors? Just seeing them on your monitor won't tell you, unless your system is correctly color calibrated.

    Hi,
Actually Arnavsharma provided a operable method for you. But no luck, it's not invalid.
Here I also offer you an method you can try. Please delete the extra (parasite) zone from the Zones subkey :
Click Start , click Run , type regedit , and then click OK
    Expand the following registry subkey
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\Zones
Delete the extra (parasite) zone from the Zones subkey
Note: The parasite zone is a pseudo-graphic number listed before zone number 0. The pseudo-graphic number looks like a miniature upper case "L"
    Close the registry editor

  • Your current security settings do not allow this file....

Trying to download the latest version of iTunes and get the message "Your current security settings do not allow this file to be downloaded." I have made no changes at all, previous to attempting to download this update and have never had a download problem previous to this. I turned off my antivirus and set my browser security to its' lowest security level; still get the same message.

Uh...that would be a tad difficult. I'm not supposed to have it. No one is...yet. I keep in touch with a friend I worked with as a PC tech about 10 years ago at a Best Buy (while in college.) He does Beta testing, sends me odds and ends (that typically wreck my system) and this one halfway works (actually less than half the features.) But, I've escaped bad software in the past using it. Sometimes, however, it prevents good software from loading as well. That's why I have asked if anyone else reported this kind of thing.
The name, if you can find it, is 'Illegal Opcodes Anti-Trash.' Illegal Opcode is a screen name, by the way. And, it was written using Visual Basic. That's about all I can give you; that's pretty much all I know.
If anyone else can verify something similar to this, let me know. I could uninstall it (Anti-Trash) and try again, but I just read other peoples problems and I'm a little leary to say the least. My current version of iTunes still works fine, so why risk it.
    Thanks for the feedback,
    Bradley

Please help me in this issue
    Thanks in advance
    Kind regards

    Hi eleanora27327971,
I don't think there's a problem with the PDF file that you converted--that sounds more like a browser setting. What browser are you using? Are you able to download files from other websites? Or, are you able to log in to https://cloud.acrobat.com using a different web browser, and download from that browser? (See System requirements | Acrobat.com for a list of supported web browsers.)
Tell me a bit more about your setup (what operating system, browser and version), and I should be able to point you in the right direction.
    Best,
    Sara

  • How to disable security warning "Your current security settings put your computer at risk"

    Hi,
I wonder if able to disable the security warning bar at the bottom of the IE window.  I enabled the ActiveX control and plug-ins in the IE Option settings, this caused the  security warning "Your current security settings put
your computer at risk" pop up whenever load the pages.  Is there a way can turn off this warning?
    Thanks a lot for helping!

That is not an option for Koreans...
In Korea, most of commercial, financial, or governmental operations need to be done on the Internet. In early 2000's, IE could not support high security outside US due to US laws (that was stupid, but happened) , so Korean sites developed cryptography ActiveX
controls to circumvent it. Korean government made laws to force all sites to use those kind of ActiveX controls at that time.
A decade has passed, and now the stupid US law has been repealed. But the cryptography ActiveX industry has become so strong (probably bribing the high officers in the government), that all Korean sites are still using those kind of ActiveX controls. And
you know, they require Windows and IE. Recently some sites started to support other browsers, but still the majority requires IE and ActiveX.
So, if you live in Korea, you have no choice but to use IE on Windows to get things done, and almost all sites popup ActiveX installation dialogues constantly. If you do not change the security settings, when you approve the installation, the whole site
refreshes. That is time-consuming and frustrating.
To keep my mental heath, I deal with all Korean sites in a virtual machine. To avoid the refresh problem, I have changed the security settings from "prompt" to "enable". The "Your security is at risk..." banner at the bottom
of IE is surely annoying. I hope Microsoft let us either remove that banner or remove the support of ActiveX controls altogether.

  • Metro IE - Your current security settings are putting you at risk

This problem has suddenly occured after a restart. I do not know why. I did run malwarebytes earlier and it found an removed a few items. I have since uninstalled it.
When I open the metro version of IE, I get a blank page. When I open a new tab, I similarly get a blank page. On entering a URL in the address bar of any tab, I hit return or the 'go' arrow, and nothing happens. The same is true if I select an address from
    my favourites list.
On the screen at the bottom is a message that reads: "Your current security settings are putting you at risk". It has an option called "Fix settings for me". I click this and nothing happens.
I have closed and re-started IE and the problem does not go away. Desktop IE shows nothing unusual that I can see.
I have checked that Windows Defender is enabled and it is. Ditto for SmartScreen and the Windows firewall.
I want to know what these settings are that are supposed to change, and how to do so. The Fix Settings For Me button responds to my clicking (it flashes colour), but appears to do nothing.
Thanks for any help. I did search for some time but couldn't find anything. It's all references to Vista, XP or desktop IE.

  • CS3 VB "Image color settings"

    Hi,
Can anyone tell me where I can set the icc profile on an InDesign.Image object?  This would be like setting the "Profile" on indesigns "Image Color Settings" dialog.  I've found the rendering intent (ImageRenderingIntent), but not "Profile".
    Thanks!

Actually now that I look at your problem a little closer, I think you need something different from what you're asking for.
You are importing a CMYK image with a 340 TIL. You mention you need it to be Document CMYK, which is a different GCR CMYK from the image. In such case it is good that the image has the profile imported with it.
Output using one of the PDF/X standards. Select "Convert to Destination" without the preserve numbers. Document CMYK.
Native InDesign colors will not be converted. The LCP MaxK 340 will be converted to your Document CMYK.
Bottom line: if the images need to be in the Document CMYK color space, and you want InDesign to get them there, they must undergo the conversion when you output the PDF.

  • I keep getting this message "Your current security settings do not allow this file to be downloaded" and I dont' know which settings I need to change.

Would you please provide me with an answer.

That is a message from the Windows OS, Firefox is not giving you this message. Your security settings are local to your computer & windows itself, so you need to look in your IE or Internet Explorer's security settings.
    See:

  • An error message your current security settings prohibit running Activex controls on this page.

    I am running firefox 4.0.1

Your plugins list includes "IE Tab 2".'' If you are running the page in IE Tab'', then in theory ActiveX could run, but IE Tab is subject to the security restrictions established in IE Internet Options. This includes your "zone" settings for what types of ActiveX controls are permitted to run, and "kill bits" stored in the registry so that web sites cannot use unsafe ActiveX controls. To debug ActiveX issues in detail, you probably should load the page directly in IE where it will be easier to adjust the settings.

gpsearch.azurewebsites.net - enter "allow file downloads zone". This can
be configured for each of the security zones IE offers. But remember:
This will NOT AFFECT other browsers that are even available as portable
editions, so you must not rely on that... unless you have SRP or
    Applocker in place.

    "m7z.net as install domain"
Is this a domain used by other ad-servers? I work in a company of 40,000+ people and we do not explicitly block installing non-standard applications such as itunes. However, since iTunes uses m7z.net as their install domain, downloads from this location are blocked and none of the 40,000 employees are able to download the application or updates if they already had the app. Is there any reason why they would not provide this download from a trusted domain such as their own?

Also, try to download the installer from http://forums.adobe.com/thread/909550

  • Why CMYK Color Profiles Warning?

    Hi guys,
I just made a couple of CMYK shades of grey. Here is a sample:
    http://www.pixentral.com/show.php?picture=1fo01uualiQLkc4uuLbXfnAoWsiVw
When i export the PDF to High Quality Printing, i get Warning Icon with the message "The preset specifies source profiles that don’t match the current color settings file. Profiles specified by the current color setting will be used" Why do i get that message? i am not using or importing any Photoshop Image with a different color profile...i just created my CMYK color inside my document.
I am sending this PDF to a Laser Color CMYK Printer (not my own home laser printer) something like a Kinkos Store.  Could that be a problem for color settings to a this kind of printers? By the way, these are my color profiles.
    http://www.pixentral.com/show.php?picture=1EEuCxcbSjWaY2cNQj8dBAFedNlly0
is in Spanish but i think i quite clear.
Thanks for any info on that!
    Cheers,

I'm here because I was researching the same error. I've gotten it for years, and usually worked around it but finally got around to trying to get to the bottom of it. One thing I just noticed is that I had a file where I received this warning, and then went to Edit > Convert to profile in ID. I noticed that the Source of the file was NOT the working space set in my color settings (different computer from where I created it). I converted the file to the working space profile, and went back to Export to PDF again, and DID NOT get the warning.
My concern would be what ID does if you ignore the warning. If my profile was different from teh working profile and I go ahead and covert anyway, will ID ASSIGN the working profile to my file, or CONVERT my images to the working profile specified in the color settings file. Which it chooses will likely have an inpact on my color. I might try to test this by creating an image in a wierd source profile that will look quite different if the numbers are just ASSIGNED a new profile and Export to PDF and see what happens. I think that might tell me what ID is doing.
I really would like to understand this for certain.
