CS4 - Any Enhancements for Component Developers?

Hi --
I am curious to know if there have been any significant
changes made in CS4
to help component developers such as myself. One key item on
my wish list
would be some kind of version tracking, either through
integrating with a
third part SVN/CVS system or better still some kind of
internal "build
number" tracking that is accessible through Actionscript.
I would also like to have the ability to more easily
customize the component
inspector within Flash, with support for disabling or making
read only
certain properties based on the value of other properties and
functionality
such as parameter grouping, sorting, etc. that you see in
more customary
IDE's like VB, etc.
If anyone has had a chance to see CS4 in action and can
address these
questions that would be great!

I confirm that not all development objects can be enhanced.
You'll have to do another way.
One thing I don't understand is why do you use SE16 to view PA0001?
And what do you want to hide, and what is the algorithm? (so that we may be able to help you)

Is it showing g/l acc in your PO after specifying the WBS element? If yes then there could be some wrong selection in your MIRO screen, if NO then you need to correct your PO 1st to check with your PS guy to assign a correct g/l acc to the WBS element.

Enhancement for Production Order Number Ranges

Does IC WebClient require a J2EE engine for any of its component

Does IC WebClient requires a J2EE engine for any of its component? What's the need to install j2ee engine on CRM server?
I would appreciate if anybody could give a good answer or any kind of documentation on it.

The answer is yes in terms of the J2EE enginge being required. It primarily handles your multichannel access and broadcast messaging for the call center. If you don't install it, then your IC webclient will not work correctly. We are not using the "telphony" features of the call center, but still installed the java piece so that the standard functionality would work correctly.

Error in loading RT for component IUICMDC after enhancement

Hello experts,
We have enhanced the component :IUICMDC for a few custom fields. After testing in dev client , same request after transporting into quality client it;s showing error in related to ICF service.
While trying to open the component through BSP_WD_CMPWB, it showing "RT repository editor could not be loaded. Brow
will be used instead".
After executing it's showing the below information-
Service cannot be reached
The termination occurred in system QAC with error code 403 and for the reason Forbidden.
The selected virtual host was 0 .
ErrorCode:ICF-NF-http-c:000-u:SAPSYS-l:E-i:vqdcrm_QAC_35-v:0-s:403-r:Forbidden

Now it's working in Quality system but still we are not able to track the root cause of this problem.

Are these specs any good for Premiere CS4?

I have just bought Cs4 and it doesn't run very well on my computer that ran CS3 perfectly!
Is this normal?

Your specs do look good enough, at least for DV. Working with DV footage should allow you to have smooth video.
But people like me doing HDV work are having a lot of stutter/freeze problems. The Program window is giving this trouble on playback. You may see your Source window as able to play smoothly, but that is raw video and tech support confirms it processes video differently than for the Program window.
CS4 lacks a switch that CS3 had to select whether to use GPU acceleration. According to phone tech support, that is trouble for a lot of people.
Further, CS4 while trying to "automatically" decide if and how to use the GPU (graphics card processor), will not accept OpenGL 3.0. Ironically, the advice to me was to roll back to old drivers, that were 2.0 (or 2.1) compliant, as that would supposedly throw the "invisible switches" correctly inside PPro CS4.
However, rolling back did not help me. I also have RAID 0, but I have a single core 3.8 GHz processor, so my problems are acute, and CS4 is unusable for me.
Even people with Quad cores are having playback stutter problems (I think usually mostly with HDV).
That's incredible!! What was Adobe thinking when they released this software with such a performance slowdown compared to CS3?

CS4 randomly hangs for many minutes at a time

I've been doing a number of editing jobs on CS4 for a while now. Started out on a mac but happened to have a pretty decent Windows 7 system on hand so I decided to use that. Here are the specs:
Windows 7 (64-bit)
Intel quad-core i7
6 GB RAM
CS4 installed on 1TB C drive
Project files and scratch disk on striped volume consisting of 3 500GB SATA drives
This setup was performing spendidly on the first few projects I did, but seems to be bogging down as I work on more projects, even though the available disk space doesn't seemed to have changed much. It seems to bog down more on large projects.
What I'm noticing is that as I browse source files and try to set in/out points etc., CS4 will play for a little while and then hang for many minutes at a stretch. It will eventually come back and be usable for a short while but then hang again.
The strange thing is that when it is hung, the system resource monitor shows that the CS4 process is not responding, but it shows very low CPU usage on all cores and no surge in memory usage. Disk I/O also remains relatively low, leaving me at a loss to explain the hangs. I experienced something very similar on CS4 for mac when dealing with these same projects.
The projects have a lot of DV footage split into 2.6GB chunks that I am concatenating together. They also have some HD MJPEG AVIs that I captured using a Black Magic Intensity Pro card.
I should also add that when I finally do get the projects finished and start rendering them, the rendering is very fast overall, which confirms my theory that my machine's performance is more than adequate and these hangs are due to bugs and I/O bottlenecks in CS4 itself.
Needless to say, this is very frustrating. I have less of a problem if a program needs to do something and explains to me why I need to wait while it does it, but I don't like my programs to go away for hours without telling me where they're going.
Adobe people, if you're listening, please respond to this. I have seen a number of other complaints about similar issues. At least let us know if you're aware of these issues and what you are doing about it.

Well, any progress is good, eh? For MJPEG's, most of us will recommend either the MainConcept, or the Morgan. I wonder how the BM MJPEG CODE's would work, without the card - just thinking there? BTW - more users like the MainConcept by a few.
As far as Adobe goes, if they are going to put up a forum, in my opinion, they should be actively monitoring it and responding to issues. Otherwise it becomes more of a liability than an asset and merely serves to call attention to their own obliviousness.
You make a good point, but I feel that Adobe sees these as an asset in that the best T/S work is done by other users. I always suggest that anyone having any issue with an Adobe product, stop by the fora first. Most never need to go any farther. For tons of free T/S, Adobe pays for the servers and the administration of the fora.
Still, and this is between just you and me, I'd love to hear that there are some "monitors," who do read. As I mentioned, this forum is blessed to have the few Adobe employees, that we do. Photoshop has Chris Cox, one of the developers of PS. Even in his role, however, I believe that he only offers solutions and explanations, and does not "take notes." One exception was when he was compiling a list of "problem fonts" for PS, and asked for contributions with full details on what problems they caused.
When a new upgrade, or an update is issued, we do see more Adobe representation here. It usually starts with a post that something is coming out, and as many details, as are possible to divulge, are given. As we draw closer to the release date, more details are often forthcoming. This presence usually stays until after the release, and we get to comment from the trenches, how the update/upgrade works. Then, I know that notes are being taken. After a bit, that presence fades (as far as we can tell, but who knows?). Sometimes I wonder about those shadows on the wall in the Video Lounge... oh wait, those are just grease stains from the yoodles.
Good luck on your Project, and please keep us updated. My brain just keeps coming back to the MJPEG's, but they probably are not part of the issue.

Error while enhancing standard component CRMCMP_CND

Hi,
We have one requirement that Phase Id and Offer Id needs to added in the /SAPCND/GCM transaction and the same needs to be disaplay in the web ui. So we added two fields in field catalog after that we made two implementation in /SAPCND/ROLLNAME and CRM_COND_COM_BADI.
Now the funtionality is working fine in the GUI and in WEBUI the field is added but the F4 value is not visible in the new web ui screen.
So I tried to enhance the standard component CRMCMP_CND, in order to retreive the F4 value help. While selecting the context node in the standard view CondRecEditView we are getting the status message u201CError during analysis of method REATE_CONDRECORD of class L_CRMCMP_C_CONDRECEDITV0_CTXT. Message no. BSP_WD_TOOLS031u201D
In standard view itself I am getting this error and while enhancing the component the context node is not converted in to Zclass.
If we try to add attribute from the context node its giving error create_condrecord does not exist error.
So I am unable to proceed further. If any one aware how to solve this issue kindly let me know.

While enhancing a view of a component only the controller (xx_IMPL) and the context class (xx_CTXT) are extended into Z classes. Context nodes (xx_CNXX) are not automatically extended. You have to do it manually only for the context node(s) you would like to modify. Indeed there is a message that appears when you select the context node but this is not the reason why the CN class is not extended.
What you have to do is to redefine the method CREATE_CONDRECORD in class ZL_CRMCMP_C_CONDRECEDITV0_CTXT and create a new class ZL_CRMCMP_C_CONDRECEDITV0_CN00 that extends CL_CRMCMP_C_CONDRECEDITV0_CN00
In ZL_CRMCMP_C_CONDRECEDITV0_CN00 implement method GET_V_xx for the field you want a search help on

No upgrade package found for component SAP_BASIS

Hello,
I'm just upgrading from NW 7.01 to NW 7.4. During the EHP_INCLUSION phase I'm getting this error:
The program has not found a matching SAINT package for 'SAP_BASIS'.
"Last error code set: Enhancement Package inclusion failed, no upgrade package found for component 'SAP_BASIS' "
I've checked the name of patches on stack.xml and upgrade directory, and patches are in the upgrade directory.
Any suggestion?

You need to include delta upgrade package for SAP_BASIS component in the /EPS/in queue.
File name should be similar to "K-740BHINSAPBASIS.SAR". Please check whether such package has been downloaded ,extracted and include into the queue.

For ex : Suppose I have a component ERP_INCOMP, and its enhancement storage component is ZERP_INCOMP..
Now suppose someone has deleted this Z component, and I want to check the details or the change log for this..

Not sure about deletion but you can check change log in BSPC_DL_XMLSTRX2 table for custom config.
