CS4 - Aperture 3 Post-Edit View

I just ugraded to Aperture 3. I notice a long time lag for an updated image to appear in the View mode. Here's the troublesome work flow:
1. Import RAW image into Aperture 3
2. Use CS4 as an external editor.
3. Use Niksoftware Silver EFex converting the image to B&W
4. Save the image
5. Close the CS4 window
6. Attempt to view the converted file in the Aperture View Mode
Aperture does not update the image in View mode quickly. The B&W image appears as a thumbnail in a Browser or Split View. There is not indication that Aperture is processing the file.
Has anyone else experienced this? Has anyone found a way to correct the delay?
I'm running Aperture 3 on a 17inch MBP (unibody), 10.6.2, latest RAW converter and Aperture 3 updates (iPhoto and Slideshow). I should also add that Aperture 3 is running in 64-bit mode.
Thanks,
Bill

Yea, I noticed the same situation. Only in viewer are the edits I have made with Topaz plugins not shown. However, on the lower right of the screen are various small icons. Click one that says Master and one then does get the edit shown. That said, must be a bug because the Master should not show any edits from the plugin.

  • Blog post : "Bug in Create/Edit View Criteria Wizard (JDeveloper 11g)"

    hi
Using steps 1 to 13 from the blog post "Bug in Create/Edit View Criteria Wizard (JDeveloper 11g)" by Andrejus Baranovskis, I have been able to reproduce the issue he describes.
    see http://andrejusb.blogspot.com/2008/12/bug-in-createedit-view-criteria-wizard.html
I the blog post comments he writes "... there was no time for me to fill bug in Metalink ...".
Maybe someone from Oracle can pick it up from this forum post and file it as a bug if it is one (and if possible post the bug number here).
    many thanks
    Jan Vervecken

The mechanism is to create a reproduceable test case, create a Service Request in metalink.oracle.com, post the test case, and convince the analyst to file it as a bug.
It may be not efficient at some time, but this the way it is handled.

  • HT2946 Photoshop edits not showing up in Aperture full size image view

I see that my issue has actually been somewhat addressed in #9 of this article, however no matter how long I wait, the edits I make in PS simply do not show up in Aperture.  The edits are visible in the thumbnail view, but disappear in full size view. The really strange thing is that this is a completely brand new issue. Literally just started about a week ago. So I'm guessing possibly I have inadvertantly changed a setting or something, but for the life of me, I cannot find anywhere to adjust it. Would greatly appreciate any advice! Thanks!!

Aperture 3.2.3 has a bug at this time.
If you are running that version of Aperture, you may be experiencing the issue outlined here:

We are currently waiting for a fix from Apple.

  • CS4 & CS5 will not edit Home Page. All other pages edit fine.

Called tech support and they said to make this duplicate post, so I will.   I am using CS4 Trial in XP 32 bit, and CS5 Trial in Vista 64-bit.  Neither version will edit my home page.  All other pages edit fine. http://www.audiofilesolutions.com.
I have checked to be sure I am listed as Admin on both versions.
When trying to edit the home page, all text and content collapse and will not allow editing.  Very top and very bottom menu bar remain.  Here is a pic.
As you can see above, there is nothing to edit other than the top and bottom hyperlinks.
Here is a pic of what the edit view should show.  This is another page and not the home page.
This is a freshly designed site and I can't edit it until this is resolved.  Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks.

    Hi Robbin,
The code in the index page needs some correction.
Then it renders fine in Contribute in Edit mode.

  • Page Forward & Reverse buttons do not work & are "grayed-out" after upgrading to, as is the Main-Menu Items such as File-Edit-view etc...

After upgrading to Firefox 3.6.12 all functionality appeared to be intact. Then after a few days it lost the ability to "page forward" or to "page back" and are "grayed-out". Additionally, the Main menu items such as File, Edit, View, History, Bookmarks, Tools & Help are also grayed-out and non-functioning.
Also, the "Search Window" does not search, Web Searches need to be performed from within the URL window instead, for some crazy reason. If the URL window is blank when I enter a search into the actual search window the following appears in the URL window, "Search Bookmarks and History", which makes no sense.
I have noticed similar complaints in this Forum in the past but I have not seen any posted resolution to these issues. Is there a solution?

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.<br />
See [[Basic Troubleshooting#Make_a_new_profile|Basic Troubleshooting&#58; Make a new profile]]
There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions & Plugins"
If that new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile (be careful not to copy corrupted files)
    See http://kb.mozillazine.org/Transferring_data_to_a_new_profile_-_Firefox

  • Weird things happen in Edit view...

Some (but NOT all)of my photos do weird things when you Double-Click them to get into Edit view. Most of my photos zoom in to their appropriate sizes and are viewed 'normally', however, other photos initially come up in their normal zoomed size then in a second of two, zoom in again several times larger than they should be, and the colors will pop your eyes out, like a reverse negative or something and the photos gets all 'chunky' or 'blocky'. Fortunately, only a small number of my photos zoom in wildly like this.
Anyone seen this, have a clue what causes it and most importantly, can it be fixed to STOP doing this?
    Thanks

Well, I used to see this problem way back in the v7 days of the purple app. It's not an FCP exclusive problem, though I have seen it happen one time with Final Cut.
Glad to help you solve this one, Jamie. You can help others who come to this thread later, by marking the Helpful & Solved posts in the thread. That way, when others are searching for solutions to this problem, they can scan down quickly and easily to those posts, and see the yellow and green stars.
I've posted this request on a number of threads, both those I've helped or solved, and those I had no helpful contributions for. I'm just trying to help make the new forum as usable as ut can be.

  • Photo rotaion in organize view different than edit view & slideshow

Photo rotaion in organize view different than edit view & slideshow. The fact that the power supply to the computer was accidentally disconnected while I was working in iPhoto no doubt was the cause of this phenom.
Any suggestions as to how to re-sync the rotations back up?

Thanks for the tip. I wasn't aware of the use of theses two keys simultaneously. It occured to me after this post to just trash the whole library which I had just created for this particular group of photos and re-import the photos to a newly re-created library. I still had the camara connected so as it turned out it was fairly easy. Now that I think about it, if this hadn't been a newly created library just for this group of photos it wouldn't have worked so simply, so I guess I discovered another benifit for having multiple libraries.
I'm glad you recomended the apple/alt key combo though as this knowledge no-doubt will come in handy at some time.

  • Why Is Multitrack Quieter Than Edit View

I have been working with Adobe Audition 3.0 for awhile now and recently noticed that
when I am in Multitrack View the sound is good but a little better in Edit View. I saw the post where you can go to preferences in Multitrack View and adjust the pan from -3db to L/R cut and I didn't notice any change in the sound......Is this normal? The reason I noticed it is when I did a mixdown in Multitrack it was lower. So then I did one in Edit View and it sounded great.........Can anyone help me with this? I would really like to know what may be happening here......Thanks

and hear is a gr8 oppurrtuunnnity to highlight such a god - aweful manual (as in manual labor) :
    Multitrack preferences
In the Preferences dialog box, click the Multitrack tab to optimize recording, playback, and mix down:
    Defaults
Specifies recording and panning settings for multitrack sessions.
    Recording Bit Depth
    Select 16‑bit or 32‑bit.
    Stereo Panning Mode
Select Left/Right Cut (logarithmic) to pan left by reducing the volume of the right channel, and pan right by reducing the left channel volume. The channel being panned to doesn’t increase in volume as panning gets closer to 100%. Or select Equal‑Power Sinusoidal to pan left and right channels with equal power, so that a hard pan left has the same loudness as both channels together. This results in an increase of 3 dB RMS on the channel being panned to when at 100%.To override the default panning mode for a specific session, see Mixing properties for sessions.
Note: Because Equal‑Power Sinusoidal panning can make one channel louder than the original waveform, audible clipping can occur in 16‑bit sessions. To avoid this, work in the 32‑bit realm.
    ^^uhh WTF, english pleaze motherfvcker.
Where in here does it say anything regarding mixdowns and that a mixdown will be -3db if one option is selected and not if the other one is selected?
Panning is something different then mixing down, so many people would get confused and not realize that this is how you set it to be -3db when mixing down or NOT.
    Bad manual, bad company.
Good program that has been sabatoged by corporate k!kes and the like.

  • MobileMe Galleries not posting edits

I am posting edited images into a MobileMe Gallery from Aperture 3.
When I have created a gallery from scratch or am drag-and-dropping additional images, they edited images are not posting, but the unedited masters.
They edited images are in .TIFF format. Will .TIFFs not post to MobileMe?

What you have to do is publish at least one photo from Aperture using the MobileMe icon. Then you'll need to go to me.com and sign in. Go to your MobileMe galleries and select one of the albums by clicking on it once. There are a few icons along the top-center of the browser window. The icon that looks like a pair of sliders (some people say light switches) is the settings icon.
Click on that icon and choose Aperture for the "Syncs with" setting.
You will have to do that with any of the albums that you want to sync with Aperture.
