I have a problem of installing my cs4, when Its already install and I open it
Itm couldn't open. I think cs4 doesn't works in 64 bit, because my laptop

This is not a forum for support, it is for feature requests.

  • PS CS4 and 64 bit Win7, RAW problem???  Help!

My old system up and died last week, so I ended up with a new computer.  I have the fastest AMD Phenom processor, 4mg fast RAM, an ATI video card with 1mg RAM, and a complete new install of Windows 7 64-Bit.  I installed PS Elements 8 and PS CS4 this morning.  PSE8 went on without a glitch and seems to work perfect in RAW.  CS4 had a couple of install errors, but installed saying that "a few features" may only work partly   I downloaded PSE8 from a disk and CS4 from the Adobe site, and I am  fully licensed for both programs.  I down loaded new photos (same ones) to both programs (RAW only) and PSE8 opened all of them perfectly with full controls.  When I opened BRIDGE in PS CS4, all of my thumbnails were an icon files that said NEF but no actual pictures like PSE8.  When I tried to open them in RAW they would not open.  Any ideas out there?  I am not sure where to start looking.  I tried to re-install CS4, but the program would just "hang".  Also, PSE8 automatically put an Icon on my desktop where CS4 did not.  So my guess is an installation problem.  Any Help is appreciated!

Sounds like you do not have ACR (Adobe camera raw) installed, or it is in wrong folder.  Go the PS help/about plug-in/camera raw.  It should give you a version 5.x.  There can only be one file listed.  If you have none download it in updates I believe.

  • InDesign CS4 (WinXP 32-bit) in Win7 Pro 64-bit?

Will InDesign CS4 (Windows XP 32-bit) work in Windows7 64-bit?

    Hi Viejolago,
InDesign 6 (CS4) works perfectly fine on both 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Windows 7. Please find the mentioned thread for detailed information: http://forums.adobe.com/message/3799232 .

  • Why no AE CS4 for 32-bit users?

I am still using AE 7.0 Pro. However, I would like to upgrade to AE CS4.
CS5 looks great but we don't have a 64-bit system to work on, and we only have anough budget for an upgrade. But CS4 has disappeared from Adobe's web store completely.
It is still available, or are Adobe holding a 64-bit gun to our head?

    Thanks Todd,
    Installing now.
Sorry for being thick, but I'm sure that I'm not the first to be in a hurry and not reading things thouroughly enough and looking on the application discs.
    Regards,

  • CS2 - CS4 in 64 bit OS?

I want to step up to a 64 bit Operating system. I have CS2 and a CS4 upgrade and I install into XP 64 bit or Win 7 64 bit will the CS4 override the CS2 limitations? Apparently, from what I have read here and other places, CS2 is not compitable but if I load it then my CS4 upgrade will it run?

So, what you are telling me is that an upgrade disk, or at least CS4 this case, is actually a complete copy of the photoshop software and that Adobe controls access by serial numbers. This is a revelation for me, as I was unaware. Do other softwae upgrades work this way too or is it different from one manufacturer to another? Oh, and thanks, as my whole reason for changing to a 64 bit OS is to take advantage of more ram and NIK's HDR program will not run on my 32 bit XP.

  • Adobe CS4 on 64 bit systems

Anyone know if adobe design premium CS4 will work on a 64 bit system?

Yes, but if you need to know more, I suggest you go to the Suite forums.

  • Pen Pressure in CS4 Vista 64-bit

Even through all other applications on my PC were able to respond to tablet pen pressure, CS4 running in Vista 64-bit did not. I was able to get the pressure to work when executing the 32-bit photoshop.exe found in C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS4\Photoshop.exe. I'll continue to use the 32-bit program until Adobe solves this in the 64-bit version.
It was good of Adobe to automatically install both a 32-bit and a 64-bit version of the program.

[high pitched Flanders] aaarrrrgghhhhh [/high pitched Flanders]
    ..>cough<..sorry about that.. :)
cs4 x64 in vista x64 does respond to pen pressure....have you installed the new drivers...are you using a Wacom?
Did you miss the massive thread about it?

  • Can't save _ANY_ images as JPEGs, even old JPEGs created a year ago.  I'm using CS4 PS, 8 bit mode, RGB.  Happened overnight?

I've tried google, apparently the solution is always the mode and I'm using 8-bits, RGB.  That was on a new image my BIL asked me to work on... it started life as a PNG.  To double check, I opened a image from my camera taken a year ago, saved as a JPG after cropping, it opens as a JPG but I can't save it as a JPG with a new or the old name.  I'm baffled.

Not quite sure I'm following you, but two things come to mind:
1.— Make sure Photoshop is updated to version 11.0.2.  You have to update it manually.  The Adobe auto updater was utterly useless with CS4.
2.— whenever something happens "suddenly", the first thing to try is to nuke the Photoshop preferences files.
To re-create the preferences files for Photoshop, start the application while holding down Ctrl+Alt+Shift (Windows) or Command+Option+Shift (Mac OS). Then, click Yes to the message, "Delete the Adobe Photoshop Settings file?"

  • File-Export grayed out in CS4 Photoshop 64-bit

Is it because no 64-bit export modules are available?
    Thanks, Dave
I am running on Windows 7

D'oh. I would probably have figured that out if the items under Export were grayed out instead of the Export option itself.
    Thanks for the reply, Dave

  • Cs4 win7 64 bit strange images behaviour

Just transferred all my sites to new computer.  I cant swap images on a web page in the usual way:
I click on an image, then on the folder icon for "source", I select the thumbnail of the replacement image and nothing happens - the image preview does not appear, and the file name does not change.
Just noticed, whilst still in the "select image source" dialog,  If I then click on a second image - then the filename will change to the image I've just clicked on.  Also once the image has been changed it appears normal service is resumed.

Yes, I can confirm that. It appears that you need to shake the dialog box awake by selecting a different image first. Don't know whether that's just Win 7 or 64-bit oddness. Weird.

  • 64 Bit Photoshop CS4 running on 64 Bit WIndows 7 - does it work for anyone?

    Hi,
Is anyone running 64 BI Photoshop CS4 running on 64 Bit WIndows 7 without any problems?   Mine is totally unusable due to wild erratic brushes (clone, healing, eraser and more).  I have had zero success with Adobe.  Two weeks after posting a support incident, they finally responded with an answer that had absoutley nothing to do with my support ticket.  Unbelievable.  SO maybe I'll get another response in 2 more weeks.
I have another thread that explains my problems, but that is not the purpose of this post. For this I am interested in what configurations people are using with 64 bit CS4 and 64 bit Windows 7, especially, what graphics cards are you using in the situations where there are no problems.  I will even buy new graphics cards, because I have to.  I cannot work as is.
Is anyone using dual graphics cards successfully with 64 bit Win 7 and 64 bit CS4.  if so, what cards?
    Thanks

PS CS4 does not support dual cards (or dual GPU cards) so the other card in the case is not being used.
    Set up is simple:
    M4A79T delux MB
8 gigs of corsair dominator ram timings 8,8,8,24 2T CMD4GX3M2B1600C8
    AMD 965 Quad 140 watt
    ATI 5870 with 9.11 drivers
    PS CS4 Extended 11.0.1 update
    Simple USB keyboard
    MS Comfort Optical 3000 mouse
Windows 7 professional 64 bit plus updates. Aero turned on.

  • CS4 stopped working in Vista 64 (both 32 bit and 64 bit)

Photoshop CS4, both 32 bit and 64 bit have been working great until after the Adobe update process loaded 11.0.1. When I try to start either the 32 bit or the 64 bit version of CS 4, I get the opening screen and then an error message that says, ..."Photoshop CS4 stopped working", and it closes the application.  CS 3 still works fine.  CS4 Bridge works fine.  I have made no changes to PS CS4. Any ideas?

In the event of a situation where the application is unavailable for de-activation, you need to install the program again and, when prompted for activation, call the special (not customer support) number on the screen.
I have never had to try this, but that information has been posted several times.

  • Windows 7 Pro 64-bit - backup processes?

I just moved one of our editing systems from CS4 on 64-bit Vista Business to CS5 on 64-bit Windows 7 Pro.  I'm re-visiting how we do backups.  Currently we image C: drives regularly using Acronis and actually keep imaged C: drive spares ready to swap in case of a failure.  We also do nightly incremental backups of all our data drives to SAN (Drobo).  The incrementals are done using some simple .bat scripting and good old NTBackup.   With Windows 7 NTBackup is no longer an option and Acronis is getting some pretty bad reviews with it's new version for Windows 7.   We've looked at the built-in backup that is now native to Windows 7 Pro.
Just curious what others are using on Windows 7.
    Thanks.

I started using the Win 7 Native Image Backups and looks to be working great.  Never tried Acronis or anything else as this was the first time I started doing images (after an 'i told you so' disaster).
Unfortunately however the way the Windows 7 native backups work I cannot get hourly or less backups for my premiere files so I am using a second backup product that does that and I'm very happy with it.  Its called Oops!Backup from a company called Altaro (http://www.altaro.com) and it stays on my pc and automatically backs up changed files every 10 mins (configurable but I found 10 mins to be great for me).  Since it backs up every 10 minutes it allows me to go back in time to get different versions of my work.  They have this feature browswer called BackInTime - pretty neat.
I found it when i saw a mention about the time machine equivalent but for windows.  It's not the exact equivalent - but i found it great anyway.
Important - it does not make image backups as it focuses on the actual content. You would still need an image backup program and I use W 7 for that.

  • CS4 and Windows 7?

I have CS3 currently running on Vista Home Premium 64-bit. It was kind of a pain to get working. Microsoft is running a preorder sale on Windows 7 right now, and since the price is good, I am planning to upgrade (it'll be released in October I think). I was also thinking I would upgrade to CS4 by then. Will I have any issues running CS4 on 7? Also, should I switch back to 32-bit Windows? Seems like the 64-bit has some compatibility issues (a lot of software runs in compatibility mode or whatever because there is no 64-bit version).

I upgraded from Vista 64 to Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit / RTM (I have it a little early via MSDN membership) with CS4 installed. So far the only issue I have encounterred is with Adobe Soundbooth CS4. Some of the dialogs such as "Save As" have some problems with pop-up menus for options (example: audio options when saving as .WAV file). The controls in these pop-up menus (buttons, drop downs, etc) do not seem to recognize mouse clicks. Generally I have been able to get around this by using TAB, ARROW KEYS, and ENTER. Strangely, the controls hosted in the main application all work fine. It is only the controls in pop-up menus such as "Save As" and "Edit->Preferences" that seem to be affected.
I have had no problems  with the "core" CS4 applications, although I have only used Photoshop CS4 Extended (64 bit), Bridge, and Lightroom enough for reasonable testing. Also, since I upgraded, I have no experience of the activation process under Windows 7.
By the way, I also am very pleased with Windows 7 so far.
