CS4 Bridge can't see CS3 Photoshop's ACR

Hi all, I have been using CS3 PS + ACR happily for the last year. Yesterday I downloaded the CS4 trial packs for Dreamweaver, Flash, etc, and installed them, along with CS4 Bridge.
CS4 Bridge will send an image to CS3 PS but when I select "Open in Camera Raw" it tells me I have to "launch a qualifying product at least once to include this feature".
Que pasa?
Fortunately, CS3 Bridge is still available, and still has all its cups in the cupboard; but it's rather inconvenient running both.

Upgraded to CS4, but can't uninstall CS3

I installed CS4, and then successfully uninstalled CS3 (both versions as full Creative Suites). I realized, though, that I hadn't saved the actions I had created in PS CS3, so I reinstalled PS CS3 (and found the PS CS3 Actions Palette.psp file, which had my custom actions, from a backup I had made). I exported the custom actions to .atn files, and then imported them into CS4. So far, so good. But... Now I can't uninstall CS3! It doesn't show up in my "Add or Remove Programs" dialog (either as the full Creative Suite, or as the individual component programs).
I suppose I might be able to solve this by completely uninstalling CS4, which would leave only PS CS3 (and a few other of the CS3 programs, which were also reinstalled) -- and then maybe it would show up in Add or Remove Programs. (And then I could -- I hope -- uninstall CS3, and reinstall CS4.) But if someone has a simpler solution, I'd greatly appreciate hearing it!
To summarize the key actions, here's what I did:
- Already had Creative Suite CS3 installed
- Installed Creative Suite CS4
- Uninstalled Creative Suite CS3
- Reinstalled PS CS3 and a couple other CS3 programs
- Exported some files I needed from CS3, and imported them into CS4
- Now I can't uninstall CS3

You have created a fairly unusual situation!
I would first try runnning the CS3 Clean Script to see if that can remove it without damaging the CS4 installation. It may not.
Otherwise I can only think of:
Un-install CS4 normally
Run CS4 clean script, a couple of times if necessary.

It should also detect CS3 remnants , if not run CS3 clean script.

Manually remove any Adobe folders remaining – they may be in more places than C:\Program files!
Run a good registry cleaner like CCleaner.
Start again with a fresh installation.

Several years ago I upgraded to CS3 to CS4. CS3 was not removed. Can I uninstall CS3?

For both CS3 and CS4 the better capture tools are:
For HDV: HDVSplit
For SD: Scenalyzer
This may avoid the need to reinstall CS3 and possibly messing up some registry keys.

CS4 Bridge Can't Complete Loading

When I use CS3 Bridge on my MacBook Pro, all my photos show up as thumbnails. I have installed CS4-Photoshop (Extended) and when I try to launch Bridge in CS4, all I get is the spinning pinwheel and the program never fully loads. Additionally, some thumbnails show up, others do not. It has nothing to do with the type of file. What am I missing here?

Can't see new Photoshop CC interface

I'm using CC -- checking "about Photoshop " in the file menu confirms that, but I don't see some of the new interface elements in CC. In particular, I don't see the new layer comp controls. Any thoughts?

It was a reasonable expectation.
However, there are a few things not available in the 2014 version that are in Photoshop CC 14.x, and not every plug-in is compatible, so Adobe didn't replace the software in place. They want you to have the ability to drop back and run the older version should you have problems with the new one.
Not everything automatically migrates. Plug-ins, for example, will need to be installed. I suggest checking with the makers of your plug-ins for new installers.
My advice: Keep the old version of Photoshop CC around if you have plenty of disk space.
Some folks, I don't think all, report problems with the communications between external programs (e.g., Lightroom, Bridge) and Photoshop after uninstalling the old version, and it seems to require a reinstall of the new one for them.

I want to create web gallery from CS4 but want to allow users to download a particular photo or the full album. How can we do this setting. May be we can create a PDF file but that will allow user to download the full PDF and then create a new page and save the PDF again with the particular photo but I need them to save the file in JPG.

Can't see imported Photoshop jpegs in iPhoot 6

I have done some work with RAW images in Photoshop, saved them as jpegs with new alpha names and then attempted to import them into iPhoto, but cannot see them in the Library. When I try to re-import them, I get the message "Unreadable File - 1. The following file cannot be imported. The file is in the iPhoto Library Folder."
Any suggestions?

Nah. Raw support is version specific and that extends to Bridge as well. Older versions simply won't handle new cameras. If this is important to you, you will have to use Bridge CC.

Apple provides repeat downloads as a convenience, not a substitute for your computers being the primary source of file transfers. All your iTunes information such as playlists, ratings, etc. are in a file on your computer, not in the Apple Store. Typically when you move computers you copy the whole iTunes folder and everything it contains to the new computer. Moving media files can be done with a drive, or by Home Sharing. You can also redownload media but let's say somebody desiced Apple may no longer sell a certain album; it cannot be downloaded again but if you already have it on a computer you can move your copy of the file.
5 authorizations: Some households have multiple computers. If you want ot use one with an account it has to be authroized. It means you can use any computer in the house to make purchaes, etc.

Reinstalled windows. Now can;t see how to get Photoshop, Bridge and lightroom back

After a complete reinstall of my system, I just came to the Adobe site wanting to download my products and can;t see how to do it. Might just be missing the obvious, but I dunno...any ideas? Where do I go to download the Creative Cloud app, and from there I can presumably download the products I have paid for...

You can check your Adobe account onoline and see if there are links there for your products. If you purchased them as downloads thru Adobe then they might be. Otherwise, you should be able to find them thru the following page:

You will need your serial number as well, which might be found in your Adobe account online if you registered the software.

Removing CS3 bridge, keeping CS4 Bridge...

I am cleaning out previous version of CS3 suite from a mac. However I've had some issues that I wondered if anyone has a solution to.
When running CS3 Bridge, images there are not in CS4 Bridge. There is no export feature I know of (is there?). How do I get everything that is in CS3 Bridge to CS4 to show up before I delete CS3 apps ? (this macbook pro I am using was loaded from CS2 days up to CS4...I have inherited it at work and need to make room but still keep images intact, plus I never used Bridge before so any noob help is appreciated)

Bridge only creates preview thumbs for its own cache library and not the
original files, they keep untouched in the same folders as you have them now
on your system.
You can safely uninstall CS3 without losing images. However you will need to
cache the images again when opening CS4 but that is only taking some time.
You will need to recreate new workspaces for PS and Bridge and also set the
preferences again to your wishes but that is only once. Keep in mind that
actions and brushes that you have created or loaded on your CS3 app don't
copy automatically. Best you save them from PS CS3 first in a folder you can
easily access and in CS4 load them again from that folder.

CS5.5 Can't see Pantone Color Bridge libraries!

I am using Creative Suite CS5.5 Trial version for now on Windows 7 platform. For some reason I don't see Pantone Color Bridge libraries, only the old ones, but none of the Plus Series. I was able to see these colors on version 5, but not here. Can't see them on Photoshop, Illustrator or InDesign. I wonder if CS5.5 supports these colors. I even downloaded a plugin from Pantone and Pantone Color Manager, but with no luck. I contacted Pantone, but still waiting for a response. Any help would be much appreciated, thanks!

There are a number of third party solutions for this. I just use Bridge, so can't recommend one in particular.

I can't see NEF files in Adobe Bridge

My Bridge doesn't show my nef files (taken by both d40x and d700). The thumbnails in Adobe Bridge S3 show the icon Nef but they don't show the image. I can't see the images in raw. If I click on the icons 'camera raw' opens and I can develop the nef files. I'd like to see the previews instead. I've downloaded the latest camera raw (4.6) and manually installed it but it doesn't work. The camera raw instructions say to install it in:
Common Files\Adobe\Plug-Ins\CS3\File Formats
but I have this directory instead:
Adobe\AdobeBridgeCS3\plug-ins
Who can help me?!

Yes, it must be in a location above and nowhere else. Only one version is allowed in this directory.
