CS4 Bridge to ACR

Just installed CS4 onto my Mac laptop (it all works fine on my Mac Desktop) When trying to open images from Bridge to camera raw the icon and the option in the drop down are both "dead" They open with a double click , so its just a niggle I could live without. Any clues?

That means there is something wrong with your install and you probably have no connection with Photoshop via a start up script. First check the menu Tools and see if Photoshop is in the list at the bottom. If not check Bridge Prefs to see if the start up script for Photoshop CS4 is there and you can add a checkmark to it.
Either way, the easiest go seems to restart Bridge holding down option key and choose reset preferences. This should bring the start up script for PS back in business.
In Bridge Prefs general you can check to set double click to open in ACR using Bridge. The drop down menu and the icon should be active also.
Be also sure you have only one version of ACR installed in the correct place. Open Photoshop and under the menu Photoshop check About plug in / Camera Raw. It should say ACR 5.xx (don't have CS4 anymore installed and not sure what the latest ACR for CS4 should be).

  • CS4 Bridge can't see CS3 Photoshop's ACR

    Hi all, I have been using CS3 PS + ACR happily for the last year.  Yesterday I downloaded the CS4 trial packs for Dreamweaver, Flash, etc, and installed them, along with CS4 Bridge.
    CS4 Bridge will send an image to CS3 PS but when I select "Open in Camera Raw" it tells me I have to "launch a qualifying product at least once to include this feature".
    Que pasa?
    Fortunately, CS3 Bridge is still available, and still has all its cups in the cupboard; but it's rather inconvenient running both.
    I would be grateful for any suggestions,

    File associations are no problem, and ACR probably has no issues with Bridge unless they've made major changes to the interface, which I doubt.  I think it's more likely to be a simple question of one product seeing the other one's licensing rights in the registry.
    There is an Adobe Clean Script which will remove all traces of the trial.   CS4 Clean Script.
    I really think you'll get in a mess with versions mixed up like that!
    There are major changes to Bridge and ACR and I really advise you not to get yourself and the computer in a muddle.

  • CS4 Bridge Colour Issue.

    Using my Canon 5D MKII, I shoot everything in RAW with the colour space set in the camera to Adobe RGB. Looking at the RAW files in Adobe CS4 Bridge, the Metadata file properties states that the Colour profile is 'Untagged'. Is that correct - or should it say Adobe RGB?
    When you open up the RAW file in ACR, it states that the image has the Adobe RGB profile at the bottom of the screen and when it comes into PS, no profile mismatch warning comes up. Its only when you save the image as a PSD file when the metadata Colour Profile states Adobe RGB.
    Also...
    Since moving onto Windows Vista, if I am displaying images in Bridge through a video projector, the colours look over-saturated, whilst images displayed in other applications look fine. This does not happen on my standard monitor.
    Any ideas what might be causing this?

    Ray, it will do a lot more good if you file an official bug report at http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/mmform/index.cfm?name=wishform
    Be sure to describe the configuration in extreme detail.

  • CS4 Bridge Can't Complete Loading

    When I use CS3 Bridge on my MacBook Pro, all my photos show up as thumbnails. I have installed CS4-Photoshop (Extended) and when I try to launch Bridge in CS4, all I get is the spinning pinwheel and the program never fully loads. Additionally, some thumbnails show up, others do not. It has nothing to do with the type of file. What am I missing here?

  • How can you save a customized Web Gallery in CS4 Bridge?

    While trying out some the Web Galleries in CS4 Bridge, I have customized several using the customizing options. The info I type in is saved automatically but if I change from one gallery to another, all the customized choices for colors, etc., returns to the default version. Surely there is a way to save what I have input? Kind of ridiculous if you have to do this every time you want to make a gallery. Also, seems that some galleries have more customizing options while others leave those options off. Is this just a bad oversight by Adobe? In the HTML web option, anyway to have it list the file number/name below the image?

    I was surprised that no one wanted to answer this question.
    I waited long enough.
    I still don't have this working properly

  • How do I find images in LR 2.4 (imported from CS4 Bridge) that have color labels already assigned In CS4 Bridge? I have set both Bridge and LR color labels text to match (eg Green for green, etc).

    How do you find images in LR 2.4 that have been imported from CS4 Bridge and have been assigned a color label in Bridge?  I have set both LR 2.4 and my CS4 Bridge to match the text for each color to be the same (eg. Green for green, etc), and the filter search in LR 2.4 shows that a label has been assigned, but I am unable to identify and locate the specific images in LR 2.4 that have had a color label assigned from CS4 Bridge.  I have tried to search via attribute, metadata, text, etc...Is it necessary to re-assign color labels all over again, image by image, in LR 2.4, or is there a way to automatically have the color labels assigned in CS4 Bridge be assigned and searchable to the images after they have been imported into the LR 2.4 catalogue from the Bridge program?

    JohnM.
    I closed both programs and re-imported photos and re-tried the action of having LR  read the XMP metadata from the CS4 files, and it seems to work now just fine...don't know why now and not before, but thanks much. Is there a way to have LR do this automatically upon import of images from CS4?  I tried to do this with an import metadata preset, but no luck.  It seems as if I can only do this once the images have already been imported into LR, and then to have to have LR read the metadata from the CS4 Bridge files.  thanks gain.

  • How to get CS4 Bridge Photo Gallery into Dreamweaver?

    I am a photographer who is new to Dreamweaver. I followed instructions and created a web gallery in Photoshop CS4 bridge. How do I get that into Dreamweaver???????????

    Open DW.
    Define your site.
    Close DW
    Put all the stuff that Bridge spews out into site folder - without changing the file structure.
    Open DW
    The tickiest part to this if you're new to it all, is defining your site.  After that, if you don't have a basice grasp of HTML and CSS Dreamweaver might just turn out to be a bit trickier yet.
    If  you are not so sure about defining your site, Google it.  There are tutorials for it everywhere!

  • Bridge CS3 & ACR with dual monitors

    Question: In a dual-monitor Windows XP setup, how do I control which monitor ACR opens on when opened from Bridge?
    Background: In my workflow, I use Bridge to open small batches of DNGs in ACR. What I want is to have Bridge on monitor #2 (uncalibrated), but have ACR open on monitor #1 (calibrated). At first I had Bridge opening on #1 and couldn't get ACR to open on #2. Then I figured out how to move ACR to #2, but now it always opens on #2, regardless of where Bridge is. How to fix?
    Thanks,
    Andrew

    Okay, I think I've figured out how this works, although (1) the way it appears to function is exactly opposite to how I think it should function, and (2) I still can't figure out how to fix it.
    If I open ACR from Bridge on the primary monitor (#1 for short, as designated in Windows XP), ACR will open on the primary monitor by default. If I leave Bridge on the primary monitor but move ACR to the secondary monitor (#2 for short), ACR will continue to open on #2. If, however, I move Bridge to #2, there is no way to get ACR to open on #1; no matter what I do, it will always open on #2. If I then move Bridge back to #1, ACR might open on either monitor. If it continues then to open on #2 the only way to force it to move back to #1 is to open Photoshop on #1 and then open ACR from Photoshop.
    First of all, it's stupid that I can't tell ACR to open wherever I want it to. But it is particularly stupid that one cannot make ACR open on #1 unless Bridge is also open on #1. The reason is that Windows XP only has native support for color calibration on the primary monitor (#1). If I'm using Bridge and ACR next to each other, I naturally care more about color calibration in ACR, where I'm actually editing photos, than I do in Bridge. Yet it is impossible to get ACR to open on the calibrated monitor! This can only be described as a bug, albeit one that won't get fixed due to the age of XP and CS3.
    (Yes, I am aware that Microsoft makes a control-panel plugin that supposedly allows calibration of both monitors, but I have been unable to get it to work correctly. By all accounts it is somewhat fragile, doesn't offer support for all dual-monitor graphics cards, there isn't a list of cards it does and doesn't support, and Microsoft doesn't even offer support for the plugin. Way to go, Microsoft.)

  • Problem with CS4 Bridge and Camera Raw

    I just bought a Canon 5D Mark III and can not open the images in Camera Raw through Bridge.  I was told to upgrade the Camera Raw plug in.  I have 5.7.0.213 already and that is what I could find to download.  Can I upgrade the plug in into CS4 Bridge or how do I make this work.
    Please, I need help with this soon.
    Thanks, Tom

    Isn't there any other option?  I don't have a compter that can run CS6 and at the moment, upgrading compters and Photoshop isn't going to happen.  All I need is to upgrade the Camera Raw Plug-in.  There has to be some sort of work around for this.
    Anyone have any ideas?

  • Auto fill subject with an Email link in CS4 Bridge flash web gallery

    Is there a way to autofill the subject line of the email link in the CS4 Bridge flab web galleries? I can do it if I use the html gallery, but I prefer the look of the flash galleries.
    If I open the "group.xml" file I see code for me email link, exp.:  <contactEmail>maillto:[email protected]</contactEmail>
    I tried adding the "?subject=My Subject" like I would on an html file but that didn't work. I was hoping for some suggestions.
    Thanks!

    I want it to work on the click of a mouse: when I run or test the page the email comes up immediately. Here is what I have so far:
    navigateToURL(new URLRequest("mailto:mailto:[email protected]?subject=yoursubject&body=your message"));
    /* Mouse Click Event
    Clicking on the specified symbol instance executes a function in which you can add your own custom code.
    Instructions:
    1. Add your custom code on a new line after the line that says "// Start your custom code" below.
    The code will execute when the symbol instance is clicked.
    button_3.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, fl_MouseClickHandler_6);
    function fl_MouseClickHandler_6(event:MouseEvent):void
         // Start your custom code
         // This example code displays the words "Mouse clicked" in the Output panel.
         trace("Mouse clicked");
         // End your custom code
    So how do I get the email to open ONLY when the mouse clicks on the link??

  • Putting a CS4 Bridge gallery INTO an exsisting web page

    Is it possible to put a web gallery created in CS4 Bridge into an exsisting web page created in Dreamweaver? I have a site with several pages and would like to have one of my pages display the gallery so that it all looks the same. I am sure it would entail editing the html and scripts which I am somewhat familure with. Just wondering if this is possible.

    As you say it's probably a matter of getting the html generated by the gallery and insert it into your own pages.  I'm not familiar with creating such a gallery, but the technotes do bring up some links that may be helpful  (hopefully  :-)

  • CS4 Bridge, icon in place of image??

    Hi Guys.
    I do hope someone out there can help to shed some light on the following problem I am experiencing in CS4 Bridge on my new Mac. The O/S on my Mac is Snow Leopard 10.6.6
    My original mac continued to crash and therefore Apple swapped it for a new and up to date model, all the software has been loaded and appears to work ok except that in Bridge when I should see a preview of a Raw image, all I see is the "icon" symbol, a plain piece of paper with a lens aperture in the middle. I have checked all the preference settings with my old Mac and all appears to be ok.
    I am currently using Canon 1Ds MK III and 1D MKIV cameras.
    Can anyone please tell me how to rectify this matter?
    I have been on to the Adobe Tech Support and all they continue to do is pass me from pillar to post. In fact the phone is currently on hold and has been now for in excess of 40mins??? At their cost, it's a ring back!!
    Many thanks in anticipation.

    Fotographic Images.

    Hi.
    Thanks for your reply. In answer to your suggestions/questions, yes if I double click on the icon in bridge (where the image should be) the icon/image opens up correctly in the Raw convertor ready for processing. Your second question, have I downloaded plug-in V5.7 - Yes.
    Today I have had three technicians on attempting to help me for approximately one hour each and then a techi teamleader for a further 1.5 hours, still no joy.
    Adobe have promised to ring me back tomorrow which some new ideas and hopefully a solution!!!
    One step we will be taking is to uninstall and reinstall the software completely.
    Any ideas/suggestions welcome.
    Cheers
    John F
