CS4 - Bring back old way of masking PLEASE!!!!! (or at least a toggle/pref)

Please, please, please add a preference or toggle to allow CS4 to mask objects in the old way.
Whilst I can see the benefits to CS4s new way of masking it also has some big disadvantages for many reasons. It would be handy if there was a toggle or preference that allows users to work in the old or new way.

Don't get me wrong of course I can see the advantage of now not being able to 'accidentally' select objects outside the mask (all personally this has never been a problem to me as long as I grouped my masks) but what makes this new way of masking a little unworkable is the fact that when you select a Mask and its contents the only path that is highlighted is the mask itself. I can make this new way of masking work for me and I can see its advantage but it needs tweaking -
1.Id like to see a change so that when you select a mask and its contents that all the paths are highlighted, not just the mask shape, even if the paths that are highlighted are just the clipped contents within the mask shape but as long as its more than just the clipping path. Otherwise it seems pretty easy to pick objects up and not realise they are a masked group, especially when picking up complicated files that have been created by another person. Also this will enable snap to point to work within the mask at least. (All though I have noticed that by turning Smart Guides on you can get around this)
2.Despite what one or two of you say there are occasions when I need to edit the contents of a mask, inside and outside a mask so I would definitely like to see the direct select tool marquee option re-introduced. This will enable people who need to work at high speed to only have to work with one tool selected and by using a combination of shift, Alt and Command can still carry on working without having to flick between different tools. One example for editing contents outside the mask would be adjusting blends that follow a path/spine shape. (I havent tested this yet but I really hope this is still workable with the new way of masking).
3.There are lost of occasions when we set up an Artwork on a packaging cutter guide with various images placed around the pack, these images will be masked and the images are all set to a template size so that it enables us to work very quickly across 100 or so language packs. Quite often these images will move around the pack as the client changes their mind where they would like them. Normally its a simple procedure of using the picture image corner (Outside the mask) to snap to point to another position/guide on the template but as we cant select outside the mask we can no longer do this. All the masks could be completely different shapes so we cant use that to snap to point so the only way around it now is to replace the links instead of moving them, which is a lot slower. (I could explain why but Im sure you know). So thats one good reason why it would be really handy to have a toggle or pref to quickly flick between one method or another.

Bring Back Old Punch In Capabilities PLEASE

I know folks tell me to get use to the creation of a zillion files, but at least give us the option to just punch in just just like on 1.5. You punch, merge and you've moved on. I swear the the lack of the old punch really, really sucks!! I did track half of a session in 3.0 before reverting back to 1.5.
Seems like everything else would be nifty though.

I'm confused - that's what AA does is save every punch in automatically. Now either PT creates a new file for every punch in (read a zillion files for a zillion punch ins) or it over writes the last punch in automatically.
So it either does the same as AA or worse it gives you no option to go "oh can we use the previous punch in instead?"
I know which method I prefer.

Well how dumb is that!
In AA once you have defined your punch in area you just press record!
You just keep pressing record everytime you want to punch in - even if its a zillion times.
Oh and if you have a client that says "oh can we use take no. 4,612 rather than the last one" - guess what it will be there :-)

In other words is any way bring back old data itunes kept in PC(was vista- crashed- now win7)...

If you want to transfer to a new computer here is the way-
1. Without connecting your iPad to your new computer -
A) Install iTunes / make sure the latest version of iTunes is installed.
B) Go to the Store tab and click on "Authorise This Computer".
C) Go to Edit, click on Preferences and click on Devices. Put a check mark in the box next to "Prevent iPods/iPhones/iPads from syncing automatically". Click OK and close iTunes.
2. Connect your iPad to your computer -
A) Start iTunes (if it does not do so automatically).
B) Right click on your iPad under Devices in the left column. Select "Transfer purchases".
C) When the transfer has completed, right click on your iPad again and select "Backup".
D) When the backup has completed, left click on your iPad, click on the Apps tab, and put a check mark in the box next to "Sync Apps", and then click on "Apply" (bottom right).
E) Unless you want to always do a manual sync (as I do), go back to Edit, Preferences and uncheck the box next to "Prevent your iPod.....".
F) Finally, on your iPad, check that everything is syncing properly. If not, go back to iTunes and check all settings.
NB You should not lose any apps. However, any 'purchased' missing apps can be downloaded again FOC. As with updates, this must be done with the Apple ID under which they were originally 'purchased'.

Just as the title says Please bring back old AppStore.
The new card design is terrible with iPhone
specially. Before I enjoyed going through new applications
but now it's a pain. I almost never visit AppStore now days.
The whole experience is in one word painful.
The new design is much slower and offers little overview of the search.
Previous scroll list was just so much better.
Please please consider going back. I think apple has a philosophy like "if it ain't broken don't fix it"

Bring back the little red X please?

With Adobe's continued regression into silent-movie-era palettes I'm having a harder and harder time distinguishing which one out of multiple open documents is the 'hot' one (the one I'm working on at the moment). Could you please bring back the red X box in the image window? It's not like I'm demanding that horrible blue bar from CS3 or anything. I mean. a little color to tip us off to what we're working on can't make all the monochrome purists run in terror can it?

Working on a crapload of images in multiple open windows today and this "feature" continues to make my work more difficult than it needs to be. And no, I don't do tabs.
If you're going to suck all the color hints out of the UI maybe you should get rid of that blue box in the upper left corner of every image window - it's just sooo annoying...

Configuring AAA New-Model brings back old config.

We are assuming responsibility for a set of network gear from a vendor that developed an app for us. They had all the gear authenticate against their radius server. My task today is to remove that config, and point to our ACS servers using tacacs. I thought this would be an easy copy and paste, but when I put in our standard aaa new-model config, it appears like their config involving radius parameters, comes back into play. I have ended up being unable to access these devices, getting 'Authorization Failed' after putting in my user credentials and password. Any suggestions on this would be a big help!

This has occurred on various platforms, but one example is the 2821 router with c2800nm-ipbasek9-mz.124-22.T1.bin.
Here is an example of what is happening:

So, just putting back the aaa new-model command, by itself, brings back all the former aaa new-model commands, and the radius server commands. We run tacacs to a pair of ACS servers for all our other stuff, so maybe this behaviour is unique to radius...not really sure. Anyway, the process of changing has hosed up three devices requiring a reload, and one that I dorked up bad enough to have to rebuild the device config!

Is there a way to bring back old backups that no longer show on iTunes?

I recently upgraded to an iPhone 5, while restoring said phone from an old backup, it was having being a bit buggy. So I chose to backup my old iPhone 4 and it wiped it clean and backed up with only my audio files. I have lost all photos, apps, contacts, and messages.
When I tried to restore my new iPhone 5 from the previous back up, the back up did not show. the only back up that shows is the empty one.
Is there ANY way at all to find the previous back up and restore from that back up? My pictures and messages are very important to me and I just want to have them back. PLEASE give any suggestions as to how to get them back.

Itunes only saves one active backup. whenever you do a new backup the old one is overwritten

When I was on iOS 4.3, the You Tube app was still there, until when it was updated to iOS 6.0.1, You Tube was gone. Can you Please bring it back on iOS 7!

Misleading and misrepresentation - 3rd party marketing to bring back old customers

Just had Verizon installed last week and did not get all of the incentives the 3rd party rep. offered. First the rep spent 4 hours in my house getting the order done (Verizon had changed the operating system and he was having trouble navigating it) but honestly I like the service and with the package he was offering it was ok for me.
The offer:
2 years Ultimate package, free Multi room DVR & $300 Visa Prepaid Card
Sounded great and would make my switch back to Verizon worthwhile because without the prepaid card it wouldn't be financially smart (Verizon $25 more a month for same services as Comcast for first year) . So after service installed I realized I did not have all of the movie channels and stated by the rep and on the flyer. So I call Verizon CS that night after installation and speak to a Rep. who says the order is not even in for real service yet and only as installation, but also tells me that the Ultimate package does not include HBO or Starz as I was told and it says on my flyer. I say ok, can I check the rest of my order please. So I tell him the package and he says , that there is no $300 gift card on the order. I get a little upset and he says there is nothing he could even such as "a $20 bill credit for for 12 months" because the package is not active in his system. I repeat to him a "$20 bill credit for 12 months" and he replies "yes I have done it before", but he can't because of the status of my service.
So I call back Fri. still same thing with service order but CS rep says call back Mon. it should be through. So I call back today and no one can help me with my situation. I mean really the $20 bill credit for 12 months isn't $300 but it was good enough for because of how much I like the service. Now however I am completely turned off by the misleading sales pitch by the 3rd party company (which Verizon could only say "sorry") and the misrepresentation of a CS rep. suggesting the $20 credit if they were not going to do it.
It's really too bad because I really like the service and have told so many people how much I like it and they should try it, but now I will scream from the mountain tops, facebook, twitter and any other way I can how they mislead and misrepresent to get sales and customers and TO STAY AWAY - it's not worth the headache.

Bring Back Line Screen & angle settings - Please - with sugar on top.

Tech support told me that the Engineers read and address these forums and I should post here for a response. I just made the jump from CS2 to CS5 where I found Photoshop no longer offers settings for line screen and screen angles for spot color printing. This is a critical feature for me and most others in my industry. Photoshop is the go to program for color separations for garment manufacturers and this is a crippling omission for us. Are there any plans to patch CS5 or to bring this critical feature back in future versions? I have been told by customer & tech support that my only option, while already owning CS2 & CS5, is that I will have to buy CS4 from a third party and go backward. While this may work temporarily, it imposes additional cost, and does not address the long term issue of the removal of these controls. Garment manufacturing is a relatively small, but constant industry among your customer base and Photoshop & Illustrator are our right and left hands.(Oddly enough - these controls are still available in Illustrator). There must be tens of thousands in the US alone. Can we expect this to be addressed?

As you can see from the discussion many many people are not happy about this function being removed.The whole of the apparel screenprint business.
Despite all this adobe has done nothing.
The problem with the above work around, ie use illustrator out put dcs files. Is that now for AI CS5 Adobe has removed the print to PDF function in the print dialogue box of AI...Meaning unless you know the correct printer (PPD) that is being used to output with then you will not be able to change screen angles and dot shape.....?? Or am I missing something ?
I send complex multi channel separations around the globe to hundreds of different printers for them to output.I do not know what machine they will output separations with but need to tell them what angles to use.This was simple before..But not now thanks to adobe.
Does anyone know of a work around for this ? Is there a generic Print PPD you can use so you can change angle dot shape in AI...
And NO I dont want to have to send a email or other documents with with my files stating LPI angles and dot shape.

I think that a bit unfair, yes I did like Jamesx2, but the current mods are helping sort out a lot of problems.
The old forum was a more friendly place, this one is not as friendly, that is not the fault of the mods, but the fault of the some posters who expect miracles, when sometimes a little research may reveal an answer.
PC/Laptop have help files, the Homehub has help files there to be used for help, fair enough are not as PC savvy as some of us, the best way to learn is to look it it up, then if you really need help, then ask.
I have lost count of the number of times I have seen "I have looked everywhere" I did a search and got an answer in 10 seconds or less.
Don`t knock the current mods, they are doing their best, in what may be very difficult circumstances.

You've checked the purchase history on your account via your computer's iTunes (Store > View My Account), and you haven't got any auto-renewing subscriptions ?
