CS4 - ceased to work

I've just done a Yosemite software update and Dreamweaver, Illustrator & InDesign no longer work. As far as I'm concerned that is a serious problem. Is it a know issue? Is there a fix? Please.

Thanks - gave it a try but without success.
Guess it’s time to move on - which will not be via paying Adobe a slice of my pension every month…

Adobe Photoshop CS4 has Stopped Working on Windows 7

Hey guys and girls. I recently got a new computer running Windows 7 64bit. I still have good ol photoshop cs4 and wanted to use it on this new computer. The install process was completed and as I started the program, I get the "Adobe Photoshop CS4 has stopped working" box. I've looked through some forums, and a lot of them mention the wacom tablet issue, which is not the issue since I've yet to install the drivers for my tablet. Has anyone come across this problem at all? This is what shows up when I get that error box.

The first thing that I would do is insure that you have the latest video driver installed (but do keep any older ones, just in case you must roll-back - newest is not always the best).
If that does not help, then open Even Viewer, and check for all warning, or error messages in System and Application tabs, for the time that PS crashed. If you find any with links, follow those links - be patient, as some might take a few moments to send data to MS, and then for MS to process it, to open the proper page for that link plus the data gathered. This ARTICLE goes into a bit more detail, and I do not think that it is too Adobe Premiere-centric.

I have lightroom 5.7 and a macbook pro 10.9.5. Occasionally when I am editing a photo in the develop module, I suddenly get a "file not found" message and the editing ceases to work. There is no "exclamation" icon below the histogram box in the Library module or on the photo in grid view, and the histogram is gone. What is going on? Trying to find it using the "find missing photos" in the library menu does nothing.

After trying to install 6500 Wireless all-in-one on my 3rd comp, it ceased to work

While trying to install my (less than 2 year old) HP6500 Wireless all-in-one software on my 3rd networked computer, the software installation went into a loop and would not complete the installation. After about an hour or so of waiting, I physically had to unplug the printer & eject the CD. Upon doing so, the printer became next to useless. The printer key pad no longer functions except when I first plug it in, and I can no longer access it from the other 2 original computers, even with USB. The HP solution center says it’s on line, until I go to print via USB, then it says it’s offline. I can hook the USB up on the Widows 7 unit and force it to print Word Office documents, but when I try to print documents on it from either Internet Explorer or Fire Fox it wants to send a Fax??? I've uninstalled and reinstalled the software 3 times on my Windows 7 unit now to no avail. Is it my printer, the printer Firmware or what? I have downloaded and run all the HP & Microsoft troubleshooting tools on the Windows 7 unit to no avail. However; HP downloads will not successfully complete on my XP unit. What should I do? Should I start over with a new wireless printer?

1. Power Reset on the Printer: Power off the printer. Unplug the power cable from the back of the unit. Wait 60 seconds. Replug the power cable to the printer and power it on. DONE
2. Print a test page: Follow this document to print the test page. PRINTER SCREEN SAYS IT'S PRINTING AND THE POWER LIGHT IS FLASHING LIKE IT'S BUSY, BUT NOTHING IS HAPPENING. ONLY WAY TO USE IT NOW IS TO UNPLUG IT AND START OVER. THIS HAPPENS ALL THE TIME NOW. IT WILL NOT PRINT TEST REPORTS.
3. Create a copy of the printed test page. CANNOT DO NOW - (PRINTER FREEZES UP WITH A BLINKING POWER LIGHT)
4. Print the Wireless Network Test Report (To check if there are any errors) CANNOT DO
Press the Setup button ( ). DOESN'T WORK EXCEPT MOMENTARILY...NOT LONG ENOUGH TO MAKE A SELECTION BEFORE IT HANGS AND FREEZES UP...
Press the Right Arrow button ( ) to select Network Setup, and then press the OK button. CAN'T GET IT TO DO ANYTHING PRESSING THE OK BUTTON.
Press the Right Arrow button ( ) to select Wireless Network Test , and then press the OK button. The Wireless Network Test Report prints. CAN'T GET IT TO DO ANYTHING PRESSING THE OK BUTTON.
If you did not encounter any errors while performing the steps above then I think the hardware is OK. Test the software next. Let's use Windows 7 as the test platform. I DON'T THINK THE HARDWARE IS OK.
1. Download the driver from HP.com. Once it gives you the option to either Run or Save make sure to select Save and then select Desktop as the target location where it will save the file. This is just to make it easier to find it. Once it finishes downloading the file, double click it to initiate the installation process. Follow the on screen instructions until you reach the "select how you want to connect the printer" window comes up. I ALREADY HAVE 3 COPIES ON MY DESKTOP & NONE OF THEM REACT ANY DIFFERENTLY.
2. At the "select how you want to connect the printer" window select USB and then click Next (I think there is a next button). It should asks you to connect your printer but we are NOT going to do that. Place a checkmark on the option on the bottom of the window that gives you the option to bypass the connection phase of the installation. Click Next to proceed. Once the the installation process completes, restart your computer. I HAVE DONE IT BOTH WAYS BEFORE AND CANNOT GET THE INSTALLATION TO COMPLETE ON ANY OF THE 3 COMPUTERS NOW.
If you did not encounter any errors at this point then it looks like the software installation process is good. Proceed to the next test. END OF TEST FOR TONIGHT. THANKS
1. After the computer completely boots up, connect the USB cable to the printer and to the computer. The computer should detect the printer and initiate the HP installation process for it. Follow the onscreen instructions to complete the install.

I’m getting the following error message when ever I try to use the Phtoshop and the program gets close.

Run the Creative Suite Cleaner Tool, reinstall the program. Make sure to run it with sufficient user privileges.

Whenever I get the part of the video selected that I want and hit okay I get a message saying:

Also, you can make sure your system is 64 bit capable by:
Open Performance Information and Tools by clicking the Start button , clicking Control Panel, clicking System and Maintenance, and then clicking Performance Information and Tools.
Click View and print details.
In the System section, you can see what type of operating system you're currently running under System type. Under 64-bit capable, you can see whether you can run a 64-bit version of Windows. (If your computer is already running a 64-bit version of Windows, you won't see the 64-bit capable listing.)

I bought a new Mac, had the Apple guys migrate my data and apps to it. Now CS4 doesn't work.
I researched a bit and found that I SHOULD have deactivated and uninstalled CS4 from my old Mac. I've now done that.
But do I have to uninstall CS4 files from my new Mac now--and reinstall? Will that work?

My situation is a little different. I am hoping you can help me with it. I hope I am not violating any protocols by asking you specifically? A year ago I reinstalled my Mac's operating system. My CS4 is on my computer under "Previous System." I am unable to open it from there and I do not want to attempt migrating it for reasons noted above. I did try to reinstall it as you suggested to hbrady67 by dowloading from CS4 products with my serial number but I got this message: "Upgrade Check We looked in the default location for qualifying products installed on the machine, but none were found. You may verify upgrade eligibility now by completing the fields to the right. 1) Select a product you already own. 2) Enter a serial number for this product. CS4 wasn't in the list of selections. The protocol suggested won't work for me since I am not doing an upgrade but trying to reinstall what I already have. Can you direct me on where to go/what to do? Thank you very much. Bergi.
I found the solution to this problem. I was able to download the trial version of what I have and enter the serial number from there. However, it still asked for a serial number from previous software: "your setup is for an upgrade version of Adobe Creative Suite 4." (I entered the serial number that I have for CS2. It seems that there might be some gremlin in the licensing module. The PS CS4 board has several similar instances. I do not know exactly what the problem is, but this should be an easy reset by Adobe. It has worked for the PS users and requires one free telephone call. I am with Harm on this. I doubt that many, if any, users can be of much help. The installation issues *used* to be simple and quick, but I have not had to make that call, since Illustrator 3. Have your S/N handy. If you purchased from the Adobe Store, a receipt # might come in handy too. Once your product has been verified, you'll probably be asked to enter a key, and away you go.

CS4 doesn't work after LION installation

After the Lion installation i had several problems.
One of these is that the cs4 doesn't work.
i open illustrator or photoshop and they crash every time. "photoshop not responding" "illustrator not responding" and so on..
I had to reinstall all the suite that now works.
The question is... why??
I thought is is better to format the mac... should i do ?

Another problem is:
When I start the Dropbox Application, it uses nearly 90% of the CPU as well, so the mac heats up, in a way that it is not possible to use the dropbox application...
(The Icon of the VLC Media Player only jumps up and down in the dock, and nothing else happens)

CS4 doesn't work after re-install MacBook Pro

today i re-installed my MacBook Pro, after making a backup of all my programs via TimeMachine. After the re-installation i put all my programs back, but CS4 won't work anymore… I get the error code 150:30.
I tried to find and throw away the netflex-folder in the Library, but it's not in the library at all. I tried other steps on the Adobe-site as well, but nothng works.
I have a icensed product, but the install-disc are at my house in Holland and i am living in Rabat at the moment.
What to do?

ohhhhhhhh i thought u meant when you stand by your laptop it disconnects like your body was interfering with the signal lol. hmmmm. thats an odd one. sometimes computers of any kind have what i call "idiot moments" where they forget how to do something simple (like reconnect to the internet)
maybe try reconnecting your macbook pro to your internet starting from scratch that may solve it

Dock ceases to work as it did before

My dock has suddenly ceased to work as it did before.
It used to appear on moving the mouse to the bottom of the screen, and the icons would magnify as the mouse was passed over them. Now this does not happen (though the dock can be obtained in other ways).
After reading up on problems people had had with the dock, I went to library/preferences and deleted the files beginning com.apple.dock, then restarted.
This has not brought the dock back to how it was. It still does not appear on mousing over and does not magnify in the correct way. Yes, I have re-set the dock preferences.
It's an iMac ruuing 10.8.2.

I've fixed it now. The solution was to unplug the mouse transmitter and plug it in again. Very strange.
