CS4 crashes during HDR processing, why?

Hi, I have an G4 Mac dual 1000 cpu.
My memory is generally limited, but on my Mac it is 1.5 Gb.
I have my Photoshop preference set to the upper end of Ideal, but sill am wondering if there is something I am doing wrong. When i initiate a HDR in Photoshop or in Bridge, the photo files are stacked in the automated process but the system locks up in the "Align selected layers based on content" phase.
The photos were shot on a solid tripod, so the processed should not be taxed by any means.
I reduced the number of selected images from 5 to 3 but i still get the Photoshop "not responding" issue and I have to use Force Quit.
CS4 is new to me i just upgraded by downloading. Should I download again?
I have never found any temporary tech support included with the purchase price of software from Adobe, is there any 30 days support i am not aware of?
What kinds of things am i over looking? If you will, easy on the acronyms and thankx for you assistance in advance.

Get SuperDuper and make a bootable drive from your current boot volume. It will make an exact, bootable drive. The alternative would be to install the OS and all applications from scratch, from the original media.
Do not just "copy and paste", that would be an unmitigated disaster!

Yes. Photoshop > Preferences > Performance… > Scratch Disks. Make sure you UNcheck your boot drive in that dialog box and use the arrows to move your dedicated drive to the No. 1 position. I'm surprised you haven't looked in there yet.
Make sure all your three drives, including the external one, are formatted for Macintosh Extended HFS+ (Journaled) and NOT-case-sensitive (very important!), except that the scratch drive should not be journaled just Macintosh Extended HFS+.
Go easy on the expenditures. Remember there's a chance that your G4 may not be able to cope in the end.

Adjustments during HDR process in CS6

During the HDR process in CS6 a menu come up with an assortment of adjustments. I am able to grab the sliders and slide them from end to end of the adjustments, however as far as I can tell there is no effect on the image. Am I doing something wrong?

No I am actually talking about during the automated merge to HDR Pro. After the basic merging has occurred a menu is present where you can chose the mode (32,16,8bit) and there are sliders for Edge glow (radius and strength) tone and detail (gamma exposure and detail) there is even an advanced window (with shadows, highlights, vibrance, and saturation) as well as a tab for curves. I do not see a preview check box. I can exercise all the sliders but do not see a response in the image. All of these activities are present before you say OK to accept the merge.
Actually when I looked at this again while writing this it appeared that the first time I exercised the exposure slider that it did something, but only once???

AME CS4 crashes during launch

I've been using AME CS4 (4.2.0.006) with Premiere Pro CS4 onWindows XP for years, but now it always crashes during launch: "AppName: adobe media encoder.exe AppVer: 4.2.0.0 ModName: watchfolder.dll ModVer: 0.0.0.0 Offset: 00011f03"). I de-installed and re-installed Premiere with no result. Downloaded latest AME CS4 version. Didn't move watchfolder.dll. Deleted any "AMEPrefs.xml"-file. Any ideas?

IDVD Crash during render process

Hello, first I want to say that I did several searches on this forum to find a fix against this bug and nothing that I tried fixed the crashing problem.
*What I have*: Mac Pro 2 x 3GHz Dual-Core Intel Xeon, 4 Go DDR2 RAM, Leopard 10.5.2, ILife'08 and Time Machine active (and a Logitech mouse *smile*) .
Problem: IDVD crashes during the render process everytime with all kind themes and any kind of video type file.
Note: It's been about a month that I am still trying different approaches (i.e.: delete library files, reinstall ILife, reinstall leopard AND ILife, reinstall ILife without IPhoto... you get the picture) and nothing worked so far.
*So my question is*: Is IDVD'08 compatible with Leopard at all or should I wait for the next release?

I can't answer your question about Leopard and iDvd '08 since I'm still running with Tiger X.4.11
But after reading your post I'm concerned that you may not be deleting apps correctly. So my suggestion is to try again to reinstall the app. But use this utility before doing so:

Thereafter run apple's software updater within system pref's to make sure you have the most current versions on your mac. Always a good idea to run apple's disc utility as well before and after updating. Make sure to disconnect all external FW and USB2 devices (except your keyboard and mouse) when trying idvd for the first time after installing an update.

"Problem during delivery processing" why 3 responses every mail?

I hope someone can help with this mail problem which started on 14th February. It seems similar to problems reported with Apple mail on 7th March 2013.
This only occurs with one of our iCloud email accounts. It shows up on iPhones, iPads, and MacBook for the same apple email account. Another separate apple mail account does not have this problem!
Every time an email is received for this iCloud email account, 3 additional emails are received from [email protected] with subject "Problem during delivery processing".
Could anyone please advise on how best to resolve this problem?

InDesign CS4 crashes during "Export Book for Digital Editions"

InDesign CS4 crashes each time I select "Export Book for Digital Editions." I tried deleting my preferences and then creating books that contain only two very simple INDD documents, but I still get this error:

Why does iTunes crash during Match process.

Pr CS4 Crashes during export

New user here! My computer is:
AMD Phenom II X6 1100T 3.3 Ghz
Sata 7200rpm 1 tb
EVGA GTX570 Geforce 1gb
4gb ram
I have a 3 min video project from Pr CS4 and I select export that takes me to Media Encoder. After selecting the output (I tried various formats), and starting the output, It processes till about the 30 second mark and then the PC shuts off hard. It just dies. Have to push the power button to get it back on.
Any ideas? Computer runs everything else successfully

Unless you specifically select the option for a MUXED (all in one) output... that is the accepted default to then use Encore for authoring
You import the video and audio files into the same Encore timeline and do your authoring

After Effects CS4 crash during start - MAC

I have problem with AE CS4 on my mac. I downloaded trial from adobe. Instalation pocess was ok but during start after few first sec. AE is closing themself. There is no massage from AE. Only system is giving info about unexpected closing due to AE error.
Is any body the same problem? If you can, please help me with this or give me info about links where can I find solution.

I found the problem and now is working ok. I had to turn off font "Zebra". I think that the same reason for crashes on start was before updateing AE.

If you have the same problem like me, the best way is:
Turn off "Zebra" font - Aplications/Font Book. Select all fonts in left collumn. Then select zebra font and remove mark below (turn off). Start AE. If problem still exist, use this link:

Adobe Encore CS4 crashes during Render Progress

After creating entire menu without any problems ( there is occasional encore system crash...) I go to File and then Render Project. Rendering process start with rendering of my audio file and then it goes to "Rendering menu" and crashes every time! I called technical support but after couple of hours i was told to give it a rest and try call them next day... I have bought CS4 back in June 09 and it was running kinda good, I had a system crash from time to time but never a problem with rendering. Now it will not even render my old projects that I have successfully burnt in the past. I get the same error every time; " Adobe Encore has encounter an error. [..\Port\PhotoshopObject.cpp-568] " and after clicking on "continue" button Encore disappears... I have formatted my "C" drive reinstalled windows vista64, reinstalled all software downloaded "new" file from adobe and reinstalled Encore again but the problem is still there. I also read some post about encore crashes and i even deleted my nvidia dll driver but Encore crashed as usual... Does anybody have any idea how to solve this?

it seems you have run Encore in the past succesfully (more or less) and this is the first "big stop".
I'd suggest few tips:
-have you recently update firmware, drivers of your video card or something else? If yes, I'd try the previous one, though I had to say that I'm working great with the newest beta 196.34 and my GTX 295.
- It's just a menu render matter? or everything can't be rendered? (you probably know you can render every menus/assets one by one).

InDesign CC crashes during startup process

When InDesign CC launches, it gets to a certain point before it crashes every time at the same point. It is the 64-bit versions only, the 32-bit will still load but it is so much slower and terrible to work in for me. I am running Windows 7 and have all the latest cloud InDesign updates installed. I have tried exiting the CC launcer application so the TypeKit fonts wouldn't load on startup with no avail. I have tried using msconfig to use a Selective startup, not loading any startup items and restarting and again, no dice.

So here's what I've done now. I uninstalled the 32-bit version and tried to update the 64-bit version but the CC app wouldn't give me an option to update. Then I tried uninstalling and reinstalling and it said it was updating at the end of installation process, and now I have both 32 and 64-bit versions installed (I don't have an option, the CC app installs both and I don't know of any other way to install) and here's the versions I have now that it installed by default:
32-bit (9.2.1.101):
64-bit (9.0.0.244):
And of course, the 64-bit version is still crashing in the same place during launch.
Salah, you mentioned to "Try to run indesign cc 64-bit from windows start menu and install the latest update" - I actually have been launching the two versions of InDesign from the start menu throughtout this entire process. How do I go about installing the latest update for the 64-bit version? There's no update that appears in my CC app for me to install.
Maybe it's just the CC app that's messed up? I did notice in the apps list that it says Lightroom 4 is installed and gives me the choice to install 5, but I uninstalled that a while ago and have been running version 5 on my machine.

Premiere pro cs4 crashes during splash

hi i recently installed premiere pro cs4 and when i try to open it it crashes when it gets to loading solidcomposite.aex. i tried removing each plug-in and it kept crashing on the next plug-in. however, when i removed asiowdm.dll the splash immediately ended and appeared to crash because nothing opened. i dont know what asiowdm.dll is but would anyone know why this file would cause problems and if there is anything i can do to fix it?

When something works one day, but not the next, it is almost always a sign that something has changed. It could be a seemingly insignificant incident, such as MS Windows doing an automatic update, or it could be more significant, like loading new software, or adding/removing hardware.
Think about what has, or might have, gone one, from the time that PrP worked, and now. Check the schedule of your OS updates and see if any were installed in that time. Did you change any hardware? Did you install ANY new programs?
With the OS updates, drivers that worked perfectly before can be rendered obsolete. Check for any video and audio driver updates for your system. Also, check your current version of QuickTime and also your Flash player. I may be confusing the programs, but IIRC PSs installer relies heavily on the Flash player. Might be true for PrP too. Many folk had problems with PS installing, and either had a hosed Flash player, or needed to update what they had.
If Jeffs idea does not work, also look on the MS Windows site. There was an issue with an older version of MS Installer and PS (do not recall this problem with any other Adobe programs, but might have missed the articles). MS corrected the problem and a simple install of the new MSI took care of all issues. Do not recall if this was in XP, or Vista, but MS is pretty good at listing which OSs their fixes cover.
Others have had positive results by doing an install from the contents of the DVDs copied over to the hard drive (need some real estate there), and then running the installation from the Desktop. Some also needed to do the install from Safe Mode, but not all.
Again, if Ive mixed up exactly which Adobe program suffered from some of these, I apologize. BTW, what forum am I in? Ah, now I see, PrP CS4...

Indesign CS4 crashes during export to create pdf

Hi,
I created a directory of 300 pages with text import from excel and pictures recording in indesign format.
Now, we want to export in pdf and indesign crashes in page n°7. We tried in different qualities, and the problem still appears.
The problems seems to come from initial import of pictures, because when we do back the page 7, the problem is temporaly solved, and indesign crashes in page 11.
Please, i need your help, and sorry for my poor english

Firstly, we create all the ads with Indesign.It means that we have as much files Indesign as we have ads. For example, if we have 100 ads, we will have 100 indesign file named ANXXX-maquette (XXX is the number of the company)
After, we create a Indesign file, we import the directory from excel (name+number+city). And then, in THIS file, we import ads with "import function" one by one, and put them in place.
Just for your information, we tried a new option:
We have recording in idml format (.idml)
Then, we open idml file with Indesign and we recording it in indd
We export, and this time we have the crash not on the page 7 but on page 31.
I don't know what to do...

Photoshop CS5 crashes during batch process

Hi,
I got about 100 pictures. Trying to: resize+save for web...
Photoshop converts few files and...crashes.
I presume that's a configuration problem - neither scratch disk nor memory should not be the cause although here are some parameters:
My mac:
Mac OS X (10.6.4)
2.53 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
4GB 1067 MHz DDR3
HDD 320 GB (289 free space)
Pictures res: 5616x3744px
Picture format: .jpg

I have the same problem, cs5 crashes when I start batching files (raw to jpg save in my case). Sometimes after 10 sometime after 200... it's really weird. And yes it does close the files with the action I use... The crashes are really bad as it does something like a shut down which closes all programms, this also prevents crash report to open! It crashes also when I do a batching on opened files. I installed all updates and everthing, even reinstalled the programm, still the same problem :(. I still have cs4 on my mac and there batching works perfectly fine without any problems! Also for anything else cs5 works perfectly well, only batching causes me headaches.

Adobe After Effects CS4 Crashes During Startup

Hey I have a major problem i think.. after I installed AAE CS4 I picked the trial to see how it was b4 i bought it. Once everything was installed and complete I restarted my computer but when I went to open the program it pulled the grey aae startup box. It had 4% complete and said Initializing Media Core then it just stops and minutes later crashes with not progress. It continually does it with no improvement. Anybody that can help me?

I did all of the above:
- 9.03 update
-   1. Go go Control Panel -> System-> Advance System settings
     2. Click Advanced tab, Performance -> Setting
     3. Click Data Execution Prevention -> Turn on DEP for all programs except those I select - > Here you click Browse and choose where your AE CS4 location is, and click Apply -> OK .
- Run as administrator
Nothing worked. I still get the crash at start-up with the message

and after that sorry, AE can'r continue..
Help me please, I have the 30 days trial and I desperately need to learn how this program works for a project. After that I want to buy it.
My system is 32bit Vista Windows, I installed AE CS4 (that's the last one to run on 32bit right?) and did an update to 9.03.
