CS4 Crazy Slow and OPENGL not Working

Helo guys,
I had CS3 and worked like a charm. just acquired CS4 and its SOOO SLOW!
Specially when i use 3D cameras an objects. Everything i do AE takes for ever to process.
I already tryied all the tips from Adobe (http://help.adobe.com/en_US/AfterEffects/9.0/WSF13D6BED-C53B-408a-B2D6-C8B4205D4 FB7a.html) I also updated my video card right now, closed all my other softwares, but still very slow. The project i'm working is very small. Only one AI file imported (simple vectors file), one camera and 5 3D objects. Thats all... still everything is too slow. I can barely work.
ANY HELP?
This are my Specs in case you want to know:
Processor Intel i7 920
Memory 4GB Ram Kingston 1300hz
Motherboard Intel DX58SO
Videocard ATI Radeon HD 4850 1GB
OS Windows Vista 64 ultimate

Have you turned on Multiprocessing ? If yes, can you turn it off and can you notice any improvement ?
I7 proc are Quad cores with hyper threading, so it's virtually 8 cores. 4gig of Ram is really not enough for 8 proc, even for 4.
AE works best starting at 2gb / proc. With your 4go, i would not use multiprocessing, or use 2 cores only.
Also is Open GL turned on ?

CS4 Photoshop Scripts and Actions not working

Hi All,
I just upgraded my suite to CS4 from CS3. Now all my actions and default scripts such as "Load Files to Photoshop Layers" from Photoshop & Bridge are not working. I've tried remaking my actions and renaming files but no luck. I've tried deleting preferences but no luck as well. Im stuck.

That is rather hard to believe. Just look around these forums. MacKeeper has destroyed, or at least made many systems practically unusable.
It's no longer available in the App Store because it's been pulled. And for good reason. Remove MacKeeper and never use it again. Depending on how old your copy is, it may not be at all easy to remove.

FireFox auto updated to 6.0 this weekend and has not worked properly since. I have uninstalled and reinstalled. Made sure all windows componets were up to date and still no joy. Any idea? Windows 7, 64 bit, normal configfuration. It is extreamly slow.

I have had a similar problem with my system. I just recently (within a week of this post) built a brand new desktop. I installed Windows 7 64-bit Home and had a clean install, no problems. Using IE downloaded an anti-virus program, and then, because it was the latest version, downloaded and installed Firefox 4.0. As I began to search the internet for other programs to install after about maybe 10-15 minutes my computer crashes. Blank screen (yet monitor was still receiving a signal from computer) and completely frozen (couldn't even change the caps and num lock on keyboard). I thought I perhaps forgot to reboot after an update so I did a manual reboot and it started up fine.
When ever I got on the internet (still using firefox) it would crash after anywhere between 5-15 minutes. Since I've had good experience with FF in the past I thought it must be either the drivers or a hardware problem. So in-between crashes I updated all the drivers. Still had the same problem. Took the computer to a friend who knows more about computers than I do, made sure all the drivers were updated, same problem. We thought that it might be a hardware problem (bad video card, chipset, overheating issues, etc.), but after my friend played around with my computer for a day he found that when he didn't start FF at all it worked fine, even after watching a movie, or going through a playlist on Youtube.
At the time of this posting I'm going to try to uninstall FF 4.0 and download and install FF 3.6.16 which is currently on my laptop and works like a dream. Hopefully that will do the trick, because I love using FF and would hate to have to switch to another browser. Hopefully Mozilla will work out the kinks with FF 4 so I can continue to use it.
I apologize for the lengthy post. Any feedback would be appreciated, but is not necessary. I will try and post back after I try FF 3.16.6.

CS4 "Save as Adobe PDF" not working in Mountain Lion

CS4 Save as Adobe PDF not working in Mountain Lion
Just bought a new Mac with mountain lion, installed CS4 design premium twice trying to fix this. When you go to "print" then "Save as Adobe PDF" the process fails with a pop-up saying "An error occurred while saving the PDF file". I can still do the standard "Save as PDF" - but that usually results in a file size 10x larger than Save as Adobe PDF so it won't work for me; I need the small file sizes of Save as Adobe PDF.
When I go to Help > Repair Acrobat Installation it seems to be recognizing a repair needed with Adobe PDF Printer (see screenshot below); but when I go through the repair nothing changes it still won't work.
Any help is much appreciated!

Thanks for the link, but this is no help - I already have "Save As Adobe PDF" on the menu - the problem is when I click that it errors out...
I just think its sad that Adobe charges people $2000 and provides zero support for future updates; when I buy an iMac for half that amount of money or an iPhone I get operating system support and bug fix downloads to deal with the latest internet advances for years to come - but Adobe apparently takes your money and says sayonara! Is it really that hard to provide updates on $2000 worth of software for say 24 months??

Drag and Drop not working since last software update

Drag and Drop not working since last software update - this is occuring on Outlook for the mac and I just tried moving an icon on the doc and the same thing occured. YOu can drag but the items will not drop.

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a test, not a solution. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
Step 1
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account.
Enable guest logins and log in as Guest. For instructions, launch the System Preferences application, select Help from the menu bar, and enter “Set up a guest account” (without the quotes) in the search box.
While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your personal files or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.

Step 2
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. The instructions provided by Apple are as follows:
Be sure your Mac is shut down.
Press the power button.
Immediately after you hear the startup tone, hold the Shift key. The Shift key should be held as soon as possible after the startup tone, but not before the tone.
Release the Shift key when you see the gray Apple icon and the progress indicator (looks like a spinning gear).
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including wireless networking on certain Macs.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem(s)?
After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of steps 1 and 2.

Why does the "fix" for firefox copying and pasting not work?

I did the fix a few times and restarted firefox, with no success. Also, I installed the latest version of firefox and it is slower now. I have to use firefox for school, otherwise I would just find another way.

In what way is Firefox slow?
Is this all the time or only with loading web pages?

In our branch office in Ethiopia we are experiencing some issues with the access to mappings. Our main office is located in the Netherlands. The Offices are connected with a VPN site2site solution.
We map a home folder to H:\ (which is working).
We map a Document share to L:\ (which is not working).
We map a Programs share to X:\ (which is not working).
All shares are DFS namespace.
We have set the according GPO which results in the following reg keys:

The detection says in the eventvwr (OfflineFiles) says:
Path \\ DOMAIN.XXX.NL \dfsdata\home1 transitioned to slow link with latency = 106 and bandwidth = 270472
So the Homedrive is working.
But when I try to access the DFS root I get:
Windows cannot access "\\DOMAIN.XXX.NL\dfsdata
You do not have permission to access....."
And yes, the user has permission.
So the L-drive and X-drive are not accessible.
How come?

Did we check group policy result to see if the policy setting was applied successfully? We can run command gpresult/v or gpresult/z to collect group policy result.
Besides, instead of just focusing on slow link, this issue may be related to DFS namespace.

Wireless network and bluetooth not working on touchsmart 600

This has not worked since day 1 and I have been using wired internet.
I really need to setup a home network and need to use wireless.
Research on the net has led me to belive I should have HP WIRELESS ASSISTANT on my machine... is that correct?
Everytime I try to download it is seem to be for a notepad... mine is a touchsmart desktop...

- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

Please answer as many of the following questions as you can. You may already have answered some of them. In that case, there's no need to repeat the answers.
Have you restarted your router and your broadband device (if they're separate) since you first noticed the problem? If not, do that now and see whether there's any change.
If your browser is Safari, then from the Safari menu bar, select
Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Privacy ▹ Remove All Website Data
and confirm. Any change?
If you're running OS X 10.9 or later, select the Advanced tab in the Preferences window and uncheck the box marked

You should copy everything from your old comptuer to your new one.

Keyboard and Trackpad Not Working; Mac OSX Unexpectedly Quit?

Hey everyone... I think I may need to stop by the Apple store to figure this one out, but I just wanted to make sure if there was anything I could do on my own first.
So basically, on my MacBook Pro that I got nearly two years ago (late September of 2006) for the past month and a half has had problems. In the beginning, the mouse and keyboard would freeze up and just not work. Restarting the comp did nothing. Some times were worse than others (once it was frozen for 1.5 hours). Then it stopped, every now and then having a few freezes (sometimes when the keyboard froze but the trackpad was still good), but two days ago I had my comp not hooked up to an adapter. When the battery got low, the comp froze. I went to bed and closed the laptop, and the next day it was still frozen. I unfroze it, but then it happened again (I'm pretty sure the same situation... almost no battery)... and it is still frozen, even after multiple restarts.
Also, during the time when freezes weren't as bad, sometimes the keyboard would get stuck on one key, usually the volume up button (very annoying)... then I was told to restart the comp. When I came back, I was told that Mac OS X had unexpectedly quit.
Sorry that was a lot to read, but any help is really appreciated! Thanks!
Not sure if this is also important, but I did spill some water on the keyboard a very long time ago (late December '06)... it wouldn't take this long for that to cause the problem, would it?

Does booting up in [Safe Mode|http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1455?viewlocale=en_US] help at all? This boot mode checks the disk on startup and disables non-apple start up items and certain kernel extensions.

Disconnect the iPad, do a Reset [Hold the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons down together for 10 seconds or so (until the Apple logo appears) and then release. The screen will go blank and then power ON again in the normal way.] It is 'appsolutely' safe!, reconnect and follow the prompts.
