CS4 Deployment tool kit question

Hello, Upon creating the AdobeUberInstaller.xml file via CS4 deployment toolkit, the execution of AdobeUberInstaller.exe returns exit code 7.
The toolkit error table describes it as "silent workflow failed". Is there more info on this error. ALso are there any detail guides (other then the one that came with deployment toolkit) out there?
Thanks,
Nick

Thanks for the info. Will wait a few more days and reinstall It. Funny though that all is ok on my desktop and not ok on my laptop. Both use Vista Home Premium. Have Mozilla 18.0 on both, too. Thank you madperson.

  • EJB Deploy tool question

    Hi everybody,
    I have successfully build and deployed a simple Application using Sun's deploy tool and j2ee server. Now, I just simply want to use Weblogic6.1 to do the same thing for my Application.
    I uploaded the .ear Application file to Weblogic6.1 and try to deploy it, but failed many times. Am I doing something wrong here ? My question is, the .ear file I generated by using Sun's tool, can it simply just uploaded to Weblogic and deploy ?
    I know Weblogic has a different kind of process to build an application. But, an ear is an ear file. It should be the same for either app server such as Weblogic or Sun's j2ee, right? Correct me if I am wrong.
    Thanks in advance.
    Philip

    You should deploy your EJBs to the particular application server using the deployment tool that is particularly suited for that application server. Why? Although application servers have some things in common like the structure of the ejb-jar.xml file (which is part of the J2EE specification), some are application server specific implementation which varies from different application servers.
    You used the J2EE RI application server. That does not mean that the ear file you have generated from the deploytool is also the same ear file that WebLogic can fully understand.
    Try to deploy your EJB's using the deploy tool bundled with WebLogic.
    Hope this helps

  • Deployment Tool, Different Config Files, Same Results

    I should mention that I'm generating App-V 5 packages for Office 2013. Maybe this question belongs in the App-V forums.
    I can't seem to create a configuration file for the Office Deployment Tool that does what I want. This configuration:
    <Configuration>
    <Add SourcePath="D:\Something\Something\Source\Full Suite" OfficeClientEdition="32">
    <Product ID="ProPlusVolume">
    <Language ID="en-us" />
    </Product>
    <Product ID="VisioProVolume">
    <Language ID="en-us" />
    </Product>
    <Product ID="ProjectProVolume">
    <Language ID="en-us" />
    </Product>
    </Add>
    </Configuration>
    generates an App-V package with the "basic" Office apps (Word, Excel, etc.), along with Visio and Project. That part is fine.
    If I remove the Product elements for Project and Visio, I expect that a "basic" Office package will be created. However, Visio and Project are still in the package, and they are indeed usable. We have limited licenses for Project and Visio, so
    I would like them not to be deployed to every machine.
    I have tried giving the two configuration files their own source folders, that is, running the download command once for each configuration file and telling it to download to two different folders... same results.
    This is similar to John Marcum's follow-up question at
    https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/office/en-US/c9462446-7744-4e3e-8c25-dbcd185a17e4/creating-lync-and-onenote-appv-packages?forum=officesetupdeploy

    Kazzan's reply technically does work, and it is a viable option. However, that reply led me to wonder what the Office Deployment Tool (ODT) is doing to a machine that makes generating different packages difficult or impossible.
    I found that the ODT leaves files behind in the current user's Temp directory, after the package generation is finished. At least one of these folders (named Microsoft Office 15) contains the file system contents of the App-V package. So, I decided
    to clear the Temp directory in between runs of the Office Deployment Tool. Simply clearing this directory was not enough to solve the problem, but I'm still doing it as part of the build process.
    Running Process Monitor showed me activity in HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\ClickToRun. Deleting this entire key does not appear to be necessary, and I'm not sure what that would do if you actually used Office Click-To-Run on the same machine on which
    you're running ODT.  So, I deleted just these keys:
    HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\ClickToRun\Configuration
    HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\ClickToRun\ProductReleaseIDs
    HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\ClickToRun\Scenario\APPVPACKAGE
    Deleting those keys, along with the Temp directory cleanup, is sufficient to let me build multiple Office 2013 App-V 5 packages on the same computer.

    You're going to have a lot of pain unless you upgrade to Windows 2000 or XP.
    In the mean time, set your environment size much larger (google for "Out of
    environment space") and use WinOne from http://www.cia.com.au/luke/ ...
    that's how I scraped by on Windows 98 for a while.

  • Using Sun Appserver 7 deploy tool to package 2 ejbs and their clients

    I have a question on how to package two beans into one distributable jar file and also provide the two associated test clients - each in its own jar file. Any help or suggestions would be very much appreciated. This is what I'm trying to do:
    I am using the deploy tool that is packaged with Sun One Application Server 8.2. I currently have two stateless session beans deployed to a J2EE 1.4 Sun One Application Server and a test application client for each bean. For each bean, I created a j2ee application (ear) file and packaged the EJB JAR file containing the bean's classes and deployment descriptor, and an application client. I followed the steps as outlined in Suns ConverterApp example in their j2ee tutorial. (The example is from chapter 24 in the j2eetutorial14 example ejb/converter) Upon deploying, the tool returns a client jar file that you can then use to call the bean. I have been able to successfully execute both beans in this manner.
    Now, for distribution, I need to package both of the beans in one jar file and also provide a separate jar file for each test client, but I dont see how to use the deploy utility to do this. Can anyone suggest what would be the best (fastest) way to do this? Any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks.

    The code and ejb-jar.xml look ok to me. Try checking the server.log to see if there were any deployment errors.
    What exact class is the lookup code from your note defined in, com.sun.some.someEJB?

  • RE: How do I access deployed TOOL libraries from mycode?

    Hi Martin,
    sorry for the late answer but I hope it is still helpful.
    First: In the workspace you make your distribution from, check whether
    you really have library icons.
    Second: Make the distribution and run it from the partition workshop.
    Startup should fail when you do not have the libraries installed. If you
    install them later and you can run that distribution then, you can be
    sure that you use your library.
    Third: Sometimes it is difficult to import the library pex-file into
    your workspace when there are already plans with that name. To overwrite
    them you can use a traceflag (cfg:c4:14:14:1). But take care! this will
    overwrite!!! Do not overwrite them before you put your libraries sources
    into another repos. If you did it by accident, at least do not integrate
    until you saved the original code.
    Hope this helps. If you have more question please feel free to contact
    me.

    Martin,
    Here is how it works:
    When you create a library distribution, part of the result is a
    'Library
    Definition' pex file (located under the 'appdist') like this:
    C:\forte\appdist\EnvName\LibName\cl0\generic\LibName\LibName.pex
    You would import this pex file into a workspace, after which it
    would
    appear
    as any other Forte library.
    Once integrated, the library can used by other plans as a supplier
    (remember
    to 'install' the library from E-Console).
    Hope this helps,

  • SDM-Deployment tool not available

    Hi,
    i searched the forum for deployment matters but didn't quite find the right topic - so here goes another deployment question.
    I installed SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio
    Version: 2.0.3 and I want to use a remote WAS 6.20 (the J2EE)--> I set up the J2EE Engine according to window->preferences->SAP J2EE Engine (I entered the IP of the remote machine and port 50000)
    somewhere in the helpfiles i also read the "Software Deployment Tool" is also under preferences accessible - hmmmpff - not in mycase. The Point is, I did the calculator tutorial with all the jar ear war files and can't deploy...
    <b>can somebody tell me how i get my stuff in the remote WAS 6.20 and then - when I log on to the remote SAP-System, where I start the application?</b>
    Thanx in advance,
    mk

    Use the <b>Deploy tool</b> that comes on the WAS 6.20 Client CD.
    After that, if you look under Start --> Programs --> SAP J2EE engine 6.20 --> Tools you will find the deploy tool.
    And don't try to use the Netweaver Studio features with WAS 6.20, as a general rule of thumb they won't work as they are designed for the 6.40.
    Cheers,
    Kalle

    I have found your original question and the attached VI.
    am_modulation.vi you have attached was saved in LV 8.0. You do not need the modulation toolkit to open the VI. I redownloded the VI from the NI web page and it was stored in LV 8.0 too. I made a comment on this on the page.
    I have attached the converted VI.

  • Steps to deploy Lync for users who own Office 365 E1/E2 licenses, but don't have Office 365 E3, using Office Deployment tool.

    After many hours of debugging with Microsoft support the system to install the Lync Client silently can be done with a SINGLE LINE command.  The steps to take are below. It should be an easy next step to put this as GPO installation since
    it is a simple command.
    Comments appreciated.
    side question: Why is there no Lync 2013 or Lync Office 365 forum?
    Basic steps to deploy Lync for users who own Office 365 E2 licenses, but don’t have Office 365 E3, using Office Deployment tool.
    This also applies for other Office 365 service types where the full office suite download is not included.  In April 2015 This was impossible to find online and not know by the Lync support team.
    Steps are:
    Download the Office deployment tool from
    http://www.microsoft.com/en-in/download/details.aspx?id=36778 and extract it to a folder. For this
    example we will use the \\server\sharename
    location.
    Extracting it creates a setup.exe file and it show a sample XML file.
    2. Create XML file and give it a name such as LyncEntryRetail.xml
    Note: The key is the productID that has to be the “LyncEntryRetail”. Other product IDs will download a version that needs another office 365 license. The productID “LyncRetail” needs an E3 license of Office 365.
    <Configuration>
      <Add SourcePath="\\server\sharename" OfficeClientEdition="32" >
        <Product ID="LyncEntryRetail">
          <Language ID="en-us" />
        </Product>
      </Add>
    </Configuration>
    3. From the folder where you extracted the Office deployment tool, run the following command on the command prompt to download the source files and store them on the shared drive:
     (on single line)
    Setup.exe /download LyncEntryRetail.xml
    (This is the name of the XML file created above)
    One can also run the same on a server share by using UNC path names such as  (on single line)
    \\servername\sharename\Setup.exe /download
    \\servername\sharename\LyncEntryRetail.xml

  • Starting with ESB Tool kit ?

    Hi All,
                    I have to Develop Sample applications on ESB tool kit, with BizTalk server 2013, and i configured ESB tool kit in my system and i struck on how to create ESB releated applications only using Visual
    studio. Please suggest me regarding this request and give some useful suggestions and links.
    Thanks in Advance.
    Thanks & Regards
    Chinna

    Once you installed the ESB Toolkit 2.2, you will have Itinerary Designer extension registered with Visual Studio 2012, through with in your visual studio
    with Itinerary Designer you can starting design/create Itineraries for ESB-Tool kit 2.2. (Note, some users have faced some issue in registering the Itinerary Designer in ESB Toolkit 2.2, solution for this
    issue is here)
    Then you can follow the tutorial for ESB-Toolkit to get started.

  • PID tool kit

    Controlling the RPM of a motor. Using the linear fit coefficients.vi to get the output RPM of the motor to achieve the appropriate RPM for the fixture. The input to the vi are 2 arrays. The first is the RPM Array that has 2 rows, 0,current measured RPM
    The 2nd is the 0,current command.
    The result from this vi is the slope. I divide the new RPM setpoint by the slope to get the new command.
    Since the motors are fairly linear this gets me with in +-20 RPM. Then I go into a while loop where I make fine adjustments to the RPM until the setpoint is reached.
    Question: Is there some thing in the PID tool kit that will do all of this more neatly and quickly and accurately?
    My current process of adjustment takes about 4 seconds to settle. If I change
    the process I would want it to be just as accurate if not an improvement.
    Thanks,
    Dave

    Yes I have. What I find is that PID tuners never stop tuning. So there is a constant ossilation. We are using a belt ratio from the electric motor to the fixture of about 2.5:1. So any ossilation is magnified by 2.5. So I guess I'm looking for a PID that will stop adjusting the output once within a specified range of the setpt.
    Thanks,
    DAve
