CS4 Error message: GPU enhancements

I just opened up my CS4, and this is what greeted me:
Photoshop has encountered a problem with the display driver, and has temporarily disabled GPU enhancements.Check the video card's manufacturer's website for the latest software.
GPU enhancements can be enabled in the Performance panel of Preferences.
That does this mean? If I close the box, I can use CS4, without problems ( I think, I just got CS4 so I am not sure if it is not doing something it should be or not). I had to download the trial, then register, I bought the dvd set not realizing it was a DVD, not CD, and my computer doesn't have a DVD drive. Could that have anything to do with this message?

That message probably means your video card does not meet the CS4 requirements.
Has CS4 worked at all without this message?
Have you updated to version 11.0.1?
Have you updated your video drivers?
Is you video card compatible? (See http://www.adobe.com/go/kb405711)
Have you tried turning off OpenGL in preferences?
It would help if you gave us the following System information:
Operating System/version
Photoshop version number
Amount of RAM installed
Hard drive(s) capacity
Make and model number of video card

I think you have to use the function module 'POPUP_TO_CONFIRM' give the error message what you want to and if the user press any button keep the control on the same screen.

I have uninstalled/reinstalled Photoshop and deleted the preference files to no avail. I have also used Adobe CS4 Clean Script along with Microsoft Windows Installer CleanUp Utility to no avail.
I have installed Photoshop CS3 which seems to work except when I try to access the preference files when it crashes.
My system spec is
OS Vista Ultimate x64 SP1
CPU Intel Core 2 Quad Q660 2.40GHz
Motherboard Asus P5QL-E

I have also checked the ATI Radeon HD 4800 properties and in the General tab it reads This device is working properly.
Windows did not start a related device driver. To learn more, click the Driver tab and then click Driver Details.I opened the Drivers Details and found that one of the entries was not ticked. C:\Windows\system32\drivers\ATKDispLowFilter.sys.Hope this helps.

Hi,
The error message can be only displayed in enhancement spots based on thr program flow.
You have to determine where its getting called for ex: in PBO or PAI etc.....
You have to find the right place to display the error messages . for ex: using a memory id ......

How to open an InDesign CS5 file in CS4 - error message.

I worked on a file in Mac's OS Adobe CS5 InDesign
at school; emailed it to my home address; tried to open it in Windows
XP Adobe CS4 (I've done the same thing with other InDesign
files recently without problems) and received the following error message:
"Cannot open "file name". Please upgrade your plug-ins to their latest versions, or upgrade to the latest version of Adobe InDesign." To the left is a list of 18 (!) plug-ins.
Of course when I click "OK" I'm sent back to a blank .indd screen.
Solutions? Suggestions? More info needed?
Any and all assistance will be appreciated.

I'll give this a try when I return to class on Thursday. I am puzzled that other InD CS5 files have opened in CS4 after a message that "some data may be lost" - which I have clicked "OK", edited the file and emailed it back to school to open in CS5. Oh, well, if this works I'll use it on all the CS5 files that I create in class.

Proceed as follows on how to implement the Post document method.
1. Execute TCode SE24 and input the Object type as IF_EX_MB_MIGO_BADI and click on Display
2. Place the cursor on the method POST_DOCUMENT
3. Press F9 or follow the menu path GoTo->Documentation->To component
4. System will display the documentation relevant to POST_DOCUMENT and also there is a NOTE on message handling
5. Also regarding error handling execute SE24 and display the class CL_EXM_IM_MB_MIGO_BADI.
6. Place the cursor on the Method CHECK_ITEM and choose the menu path EDIT->Choose.
7. System will display the sample code.

Two Photoshop CS4 error messages that recently appeared

I have very recently begun having troubles with Photoshop CS4 on my work computer. I have Photoshop version 11.0.2 and OS X version 10.6.3. The error messages I'm getting are...
Could not import the clipboard because an unexpected end-of-file was encountered
This happens anytime I copy image data to the clipboard from a web-browser (Chrome, Firefox, etc.) This used to work and now it no longer does. If I save the file in question and open it in Photoshop it works fine, but this is kind of an inconvenience.
Could not build preview because of a problem with quicktime
This error occurs everytime I try to save an image using the "Save for Web & Devices..." dialog.
To my knowledge, I haven't changed anything related to my Adobe software recently. What would make both fo these errors suddenly start happening?

Hm, it's not that old.
But you're right. 10.6.7 update seems to have fixed this issue. Not sure why it cropped up in the first place but glad its gone. Thanks!

CS4 error message: Could not read the file because the plug-in could not understand the file

I get the error message in the subject line of this thread when I try to open a AI file in CS4. The file in question is a master plan for a river parkway. It includes a TIF of an aerial image of the project site (created from a SID file) with Illustrator generated linework for the various trails and other master plan features. Illustrator attempts to open the file, which appears for a brief time but without the aerial image TIF background visible (only the Illustrator linework and text is visible), then this message pops up, I click OK and the file closes and I'm put back at the opening screen.
I am running Windows 7 Pro (32-bit). My colleague created this file on his computer (same OS and programs as my computer) and he can open it fine. He did have this same issue for a bit, but then ran Updates under the Help menu and this seems to have fixed his problem. Before then, he had been re-starting his computer and having only Illustrator open, and was successful in getting the file to open.
I ran the updates yesterday and am up to date but the problem persists.

Hi Sam,
This is an issue that has plagued Illustrator CS4 since it's release. The problem is a memory issue. Adobe has never addressed it satisfactorily and likely won't since CS5 has now been released for almost a year now - tho I've read somewhere that CS5 has the same issue. On their site, Adobe has made a few weak mentions about it and has posted a hit-or-miss workaround, but their explanation kinda sounds like B.S., really and it's fairly apparent they're not sure what's going on and likely it's a compound problem and the result of a few different issues. They talk about some bug with color books between Photoshop and Illustrator, but that's DEFINITELY NOT the whole problem.
Here's a solution, tho it's certainly not perfect and will not always work:
1. Start a clean instance of Illustrator - DO NOT LOAD ANY FILES EXCEPT YOUR TARGET FILE, and
DO NOT HAVE RUNNING OR LOAD ANY OTHER FILES DURING THE WORK SESSION.
2. Find a good free memory manager that will allow you to free up memory with the click of a button, such as CLEANMEM - Google it - it's free.
3. Free up memory before you start Illustrator and, if the file opens, after you get the file loaded.
4. While you'll be able to work with the file, save it; manipulate and create new vector objects within the file, likely you will not be able to add additional linked files.
In the past, the times that I've had this issue have been when working with really large files and large linked graphics - like convention display graphics. The issue just gobbles up, or limits memory allocation. Good Luck!

Adobe Creative Suite CS4 ERROR message 150:30

I have Adobe Creative Suite CS4 from 2010 when I was in college. I recently had to reset my hard drive due to my suite not working with with Yosemite. I went back via Time Machine to my old OS and now I have a new error message: Error 150:30. I need to use my Photoshop, please help!

Installing the products from time machine may cause some issues.
I would suggest you to reinstall then using original installation media

InDesign CS4 Error Message 148:3

Went to launch CS4 this morning I got this error message and it stated that the license stopped working. I called support only to learn CS4 no longer supported. Yikes! I got a book I'm suppose to get to a printer today!
Suggestions?

There are some Knowledgbase articles that deal with this that may help you (but without knowing the OS I can't give you links). It would also help to know the exact wording of the error message (and if you google that exact wording you'll probably come up with the articles, as well as older threads here that deal with this problem). The fix is usually fairly simple -- a licensing service patch to download or a folder to rename.

CS4 error message

Hey,
I just got Illustrator CS4 for a project for work. I received two .ai files that I needed from someone via email but am unable to open either file.
The Error message that pops up says as follows:
Can't open the illustration. The illustration exceeds an implementation limit
Offending operator: ',' or '@' (depending on the file)
Context:
I had been looking on the net and the only thing I could get on this was previous versions having issues with corrupt files. Does anyone have any fixes or suggestions, or do I have to find a new way to get the file to me.

Placing PSD files in Indesign CS4 error message

I recently upgraded at work to CS4 and leopard. Here is my problem everytime I try to place a photoshop file off of my network filesever I recieve this error "This file is already open by another user or another application. This file may be stored on a network server and cannot be opened until the other user closes it." This happens with every psd that I try to place and I know that these files are not use. The photoshop files are CS3 files. Does anyone know why this is happening? Thanks in advance!

I just experienced the same situation with a client's network, the main difference was CS3 and OS 10.5.6. The situation arose after installation of Leopard and subsequent software updates. l believe the IT person who did the updates used migration, but I'm not positive about that.
Anyway, here's how I solved it: As a test, create a new user in System Preferences/Accounts (call the new user Test User) and give it admin privileges. Log in as testuser. Connect to your server. Open InDesign, create a new document, and try to place a tiff or psd file from the server into the new document. If this works, you've isolated the problem to your normal (previous) user account.
If this is indeed the problem, while logged in as testuser, click the padlock in System Preferences/Accounts, enter your password, and proceed to delete the corrupted account...
It will give you 3 options: pick the first one, which is delete user and archive user folder as a disk image within a folder named Deleted Users.
Now you can create a new user (you can name the new one the same as you had for the old corrupted one), give it admin privileges. Log out of test user and log back in with the new user you just created.
You can now open up the old user disk image in the Deleted Users folder, and drag items back into the new user folder you've just created. I would only drag the contents of Music, Pictures and Movies at this point.
Important:
Do not drag the contents of your Users/olduser/Library folder into you new user folder. More than likely this contains the source of the problems that got you into this trouble in the first place.
The biggest pain about this process is recreating your font lists/locations. If you use Suitcase Fusion, open Suitcase first, then drag your favorite fonts into Suitcase. If you use another font manager, you're going to have to recreate your font list as you did the first time you installed them.
When you open each of your regularly used programs, they will act as if you're opening them for the first time (with the exception of asking for serial number/registration info), and new preferences will be created in your User/~/Library/Preferences folder.

AE CS4 Error Message - file is busy (delete) (-47). Cant Render Help

Have AE CS4 on XP
Trying to render cue an animated gif and keep on getting the "file is busy (delete) (-47)." error. Tried shutting down, re booting, renaming. Im up to date on version number. I dont have any other program that is using the file.
Any workaround on this.

To which location do you render? To which program is the GIF file association bound on your system? Sounds like some tool is indexing/ previewing the files whiel they are being generated. could also be some virus scanner looking into the file and quarantine them because they are "internet" files. Hard to tell. More info required.
