CS4 Export: Motion Blur problem.

Hi,
I'm having problems exporting a bunch of sequences to h264. Source files are MPEG2, sequence is DV, export is h264 through Adobe Media Encoder. For some reason, the exported video has weird motion blur, but that effect is not added to the videos. All I did was level the audio and export. What could be wrong? Known bug, perhaps?
Any help appreciated. Thanks.

Had the same problem as well. Did some experiment on it and managed to solve it on CS4.
Select entire clip in the timeline
Right click on the clips and uncheck "Frame Blend"
Then export it.
It works for me... hope it does for u too.
Cheers

  • Motion Blur Problem/Potential Bug

    Hi,
I am having a problem when motion blur is activated. My comp. consists of media moving onto screen and 3D cameras moving in and out of the composition. When motion blur is activated the desired effect is created, however when the cameras move in and out on the image (with motion blur activated) the anchor point appears to be affected and it is sent behind the background. The only way I have been able to make the image visible is adjusting the anchor point, but I wanted to figure out if this was a known bug before I do this throughout my entire project.
I am running Windows 7 Pro 64-bit with After Effects 12.2.1.5 on a custom build with i7 3.5Ghz, 16GB Ram, and a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680.
If anyone could give me an idea on if this is a bug that will eventually be addressed or if there is a solution other than adjusting anchor point please let me know.
    Thanks,

I have done quite a bit of research today as to whether this was a bug or a mistake I made and this has happened to other's in after effects, however I got no productive information on if it was a bug or a mistake. To address the other topics you brought up:
    1. I am quite aware that only one camera can be active at a time, and yes I have multiple cameras that are active in differerent sections of my composition, none overlap each other however.
    2. And as far as the anchor moving by itself, it is not necessarly "moving", the anchor position data in the timeline does not change and have no parent or active keyframes. However for a number of frames the image disappears behind the background giving the impression that the anchor point is changed. The reasoning for why I intially thought there was a bug was the image would disappear in the middle of its motion and reappear toward the end of it's movement.

  • Mobject motion blur problem

I'm manipulating mobject generators in Motion. When finished with the generator and moving over to final cut the mobjects have motion blur that I cant figure out how to turn off. No other movement in the motion generator is blurred.only the mobject which leads me to believe its a setting in mobject that I can't locate. Anyone point me in right direction?

Contact [email protected] and ask them about it.  I don't experience the problem and I can change motion blur by adding it in the customary way (described above.)
There are other parameters available that might look like motion blur... Antialiasing Quality, DoF (depth of field), AO (ambient occlusion), etc. that might have an effect on the appearance of motion in mObject.

  • Anamorphic Export & Motion Blur Questions

My project is set for 720x480, NTSC D1/DV Anamorphic. When I try to export it converts the 16x9 (720x480) to 4x3 (640x480).
I'm using "Movie - current project and canvas settings" when exporting. Here are the details:
    "Apple ProRes 4444, 8-bit Color + Alpha
Field Rending On, Motion Blur On, Frame Blending On"
How do I get the ratio to remain 16x9?? Thanks!
Second question: Should "Motion Blur" be on when exporting? It was off by default when I started Motion (I'm that new to this).
    Thanks for helping the newbie!

1440x1080 is not wide screen - it's 4:3 - it's used as a compression scheme to cram 1920 x 1080 pixels into a smaller space. Either tell Motion that the project is anamorphic, or set your project size to 1920x1080...

  • CS4 Exporting and Importing Problems

    Hey all,
I joined this forum specifically so I could ask this question.  I have been looking all around and can not find the answer.
I have a Canon Vixia HF S10, with internal 32 gb memory, and am trying to import directly into Premiere Pro.  Now, I have the media browser set up to AVCHD, and the icon next to the files is that filmstrip and speaker, showing that it knows it's video.  However, when I try to drag it in, it acts like it's importing, and then pops up an error stating that the "Format is not supported".  Now it says on Adobe that it IS supported, and I can import it elsewhere.  I've tried re-installing it, using Clean Script, and nothing works!  I've also updated it every time I've installed it, though I've tried without updating as well.
My other question is this: I want to export a project as a .dv or DV stream, and I cannot find an option for it.  Simple as that.  It also says that exporting as .dv is supported in CS4.  What's the problem?  Is there something I need to download for either of them?
I'm running it on a Mac, on Leopard.
    Thanks a lot,
    Nili.

I am having the same problem. The file extension that I am trying to import
is .mts - AVCHD format which Adobe does not seem to recognise. I have taken it from a panasonic camera. Camera makes no difference, it is the format in which the file is stored. I have also also opened up
a customer chat with technical support on adobe. Could it be something to do with missing codecs?

  • Keylight and Motion Blur, orange over green

I'm making a series of videos of basketball players for a website.  I'm using Keylight to remove the green screen.  I seem to have gotten the parameters where it gives fairly good results with the player.  My problem is the basketball.  It moves fast in front of the green screen that there's a pretty serious motion blur problem.
What I have tried is making a copy of the video on the layer above and then masking only the ball when it is by itself in front of the green screen and processing it giving it it's own despill values, and then using that mask as a track matte for the layer below to drop out the basketball from the player's layer when the ball is in the air.  That does improve things a bit, because I can tighten up the image on the ball a bit.  But there is still a sizeable brown smudge where the orange ball blurs over the green screen that I can't seem to get rid of.
I'm not sure what else I can do, and I don't have the time to experiment with methods, or do painstaking minute correction.  Does anyone have a solution?
    Thanks.

    > <
Unfotunately, there is no way to remove the image blur that is caused by your imporoperly shot footage; you needed a much faster shutter speed, appropriate for the subject, 1/250 or maybe even 1/1000 second.
All you can do now is fake it and hopefully sell a new design concept, something a bit stylized. Masking off the ball is a good first step and now you can fill that mask with just about anything. I'd suggest a stylized animated basketball with glitter and sparks and lightning, simple clip art, or a photograph of the team's special logo-emblazoned ball, if they have such.

  • Exporting HD video to Blu-ray format causes motion blur

    Using Premiere Pro CS4, I have HD video projects that are either 720p30 and 1080i  (60i). The 720p video is  1280x720 (1.0) 60fps. The 1080i footage is 1920x1080 (1.0) at 29.97 fps.
For exporting the video to a format suitable for burning to Blu-ray (using Encore) I've am using  the  MPEG-2 Blu-Ray format using either the HDTV 1080i High  Quality or the  HDTV 720p 59.94 High Quality presets, depending on the  format of the  original video that I'm compiling.
I didn't notice it at first but when I burned first my test Blu-ray disc I found that the video was having some wierd exaggerated motion blur characteristics going on. Any abrupt movment, such as a person turning their head or a video box shrinking from full screen to half screen would be wildly blurred. I thought it might have been a result of the burn but I subsequently found the problem was introduced during the video export process in Premiere Pro. I just didn't catch it because I wasn't looking closely enough.
Because I am using the default settings for the two presets cited above I'm at a loss about what is introducting this blur or how to go about mitigating it. Anyone got any tips? What could be having such a problem making motion which shouldn't blur too much blur so badly? Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Ok, I'm stumped for the moment. To better illustrate what's going on I'll post some pics of the problem. I'm using a piece of video that's not part of my projects but it does illustrate what's going on pretty well.
The first is what Premiere Pro is displaying for the source video. I'm currently using a Sequence Preset of DVCPROHD 720P 60P even though I don't have the hardware for it. The reason being is it stopped the blur from happening in the timeline and I think that's because this preset had a 59.94 fps preset and the source video was 60fps.
    http://www.imagebam.com/image/7bd0af110335520
The second is a Premiere Pro frame grab of what the source video file looks like. I'm using an export of Windows Bitmap with a preset of HD Square Pixel Bitmap 720p. I'm using the Progressive setting because if I choose either Upper or Lower first the image looks even worse.
    http://www.imagebam.com/image/9aa895110335495
The third is a Premiere Pro frame grab of what the exported video file looks like. The video was exported using MPEG Blu-ray with a preset of HDTV 720p 59.94 High Quality with no modifications. I'm using an export of Windows Bitmap with a preset of HD Square  Pixel Bitmap 720p. I'm using the Progressive setting because if I choose  either Upper or Lower first the image looks even worse. Incidentally, this exported video displays in the Premiere Pro timeline with visible motion blur characteristics whereas the source video did not.
    http://www.imagebam.com/image/3a2a60110335483
    What these images show.
    1) The source video displays crisp in Premiere Pro even though this is footage of a video transition.
    2) The source video exports out with some motion blur.
    3) When you do a frame grab of the exported video the motion blur of the exported video increases.
As I said, I'm stumped. I've tried modifying every setting in the exporter for  MPEG Blu-ray with a preset of HDTV 720p 59.94 High Quality and I can't stop this blur. I looked at the H.264 Blu-ray setting but it appears useless. Every time I try to export, the exported video crashes Media Player and when I load it into Premiere Pro I see the video now has motion blur.
At this point I'm wondering if upgrading to CS5 will make a difference or not. That's about the only thing I can think of that I haven't tried yet.

  • MOTION BLUR & LIP SYNC PROBLEM

This problem is with encoding in CS5.
Using Encore to make a DVD I had to Transcode all my assets because of the "end of file" error
on doing this I had 7 clips out of 18 with either motion blur (may be jitter) and audio out of sync with the video but not on all of them.
Then I re encoded my originals in Prem Pro using different settings but still the same problem.
    Your help would be appreciated

    Hi Jim & sellador,
As I am from England all my work is PAL 25 fps
This particular clip has the worst blur or jitter quite painful to watch. Oddly enough plays fine on the time line or viewer but not in WMP or DVD on computer or television (this must tell us something)
I have now done over 20 different outputs the best being de interlace no blur but the quality suffered.
    Right some info:
Material, Original clip as shown in adobe properties: mpeg - 25fps Aspect 4:3 1.094 pixel
    720 x 576 - Upper field first - average bit rate 871kb/s - Audio 48k
Sequence settings: DV PAL upper field first - 25fps  - 1.094 pixel - Audio 48k
    Export settings: MPEG2 - Custom - 720 x 576 - pixel 1.094 - upper field first
    Profile Main - level Main. - Max render Quality - 6.5 - 8.5 mb/s

  • CS4 Motion Blur---Something is wrong

I tried to rerender a CS3 project today in CS4 and found that the sequence (mostly moving type) no longer rendered correctly---some of the type was strangely shaky and too blurry (even while not moving) and other layers had no blur.
Opened the same project in CS3 and rendered the SAME sequence without these issues.
    Anyone have any ideas?
    Thanks,
    Lance Moody

    Hi again and thanks,
The comp here does not contain nested comps--just text layers (which are what you see in the example). When you mention the resolution drop down, are you referring to the preview window resolution? This shouldn't affect renders.
    Some are 3D.
Also I am using best settings for render.
To be clear there are two problems I see after render:
    1. The weird blurry low-rez text on some layers.
    2. The loss of motion blur on others (even though MB is checked on for layer and comp).
Additionally after opening other comps, I notice that certain layers are no longer positioned correctly in 3D space.
This is distressing because sure as hell in a year or two someone will want to revise these spots and there are so many things wrong with them that this would not be trivial. I suppose I can keep CS3 on my machine--god knows unpaid updates for CS products are hard to come by. This is FOR SURE a bug.

  • CS4 Export Problem

I have an external hard drive to which I export my encoded CS4 video files once I have finished editing.  The problem is that, in doing so, space seems to be used also on my C drive.  I need to find and delete these files on my C drive once my PP project files are rendered to my external drive.  I have looked in temp files but they not there.  Can anyone advise me on this?

That's done it S.V.  Many thanks!

I'm a newbie so don't take my word as gospel buuuuttt....
If you're using Vista you might be making the same mistake as me. Go edit>preferences>media, hover the mouse over the media cache files location (i.e. C:\yadayada) and TYPE that into the bar at the top of the my computer. Don't click through and try and find it, TYPE it like you would an internet address in a web browser.

In Preview open the picture. In the toolbar at the topp of the picture window. pick Select a drop down window should appear and *Instant Alpha* is at the bottom of the drop down window.

  • Does cs4 have native motion blur?

Just like After Effects, press a button, Bam! Motion Blur.
Does Flash now have that? Or is it still trapped in AS3?

Flash 8 introduced filter effects, which included blur.
    Since that
time, blur has been available to Flash files and accessible
    via both the
    manual draing tools and ActionScript.

  • Motion Blur help.

Alrighty, I'm using Photoshop CS4 Extended, and I'm having troubles with motion blur.
When I set the angle to anything above 60 really and distance to about 300 it crashes saying Adobe Photoshop CS4 has encountered a problem and needs to close.
This happens every time. So I tried restarting Photoshop, then restarting my computer, then I uninstalled and reinstalled fresh and it still crashes when I begin to use motion blur, infact I believe it even crashed just by opening the motion blur window for over 40 seconds.
    Any help or ideas?
    Thanks in advance!

Thanks a lot Mylenium! I'll do that in a few minutes, by the way heres an update with some more information.
Photoshop crashes when I change the angle to 49 or higher, anything lower is fine.
I went to my event viewer and I found this:
Faulting application photoshop.exe, version 11.0.0.0, faulting module mmxcore.8bx, version 11.0.0.0, fault address 0x0000d62a.
