CS4 Fireworks says an internal error has occurred

When starting CS4 Fireworks, it locks up saying "an internal error has occurred". Have to use Task Manager to close it. Fireworks will not re-ininstall from disk, it just sits there on "Installing" screen. Please assist.

Adobe offers NO help on this issue that happens with CS4, CS5 and CS6.
I found this work around:
Go to C:\Users\YOUR USER NAME\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Fireworks CS4\ (or whatever version you are using)
RENAME above folder to something like  \Fireworks CS4_old\
Start Fireworks.
Problem resolved!

I have installed Adobe Lightroom CC.  In the process of launching, a popup appears, that says:  "AN INTERNAL ERROR HAS OCCURRED.  Cannot create the required folder:  /Users/(my user name)/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Lightroom/Develop Presets."  So even though Lightroom CC is installed, it will not launch.  What do I need to do to allow it to launch?

The problem was solved today.  Here's the full story.  I'm a Mac user.  At first I installed Lightroom CC on my iMac (desktop).  I had this problem so I called Adobe, and was referred to a "special unit" .  After about an hour the tech solved it for me ... we did a screen sharing and she took control of my computer for a loooong time.  Because of language difficulties, at first I wondered if she knew what she was doing but she eventually solved it.  Although she couldn't explain exactly what she was doing, she summarized it by saying "it was a permissions problem."  I asked if I would have the same issue later when I installed it on my laptop (Macbook Air).  She said probably not.
But I did.  The same internal error popup arose on launch and launch did not complete on my laptop.  I tried chat but no joy so I eventually called Apple Care.  I had noticed that on my laptop (and the iMac for that matter), that there was no Library folder after my user name.  The Apple tech explained that the Library folder is actually there but it is hidden because it's very easy for users to do some very nasty things to their computer by going astray while in the Library folder.  The folder is actually there, but they hide it.  I did remember seeing that the tech helping me with my iMac had typed the work "Library" while she was controlling my computer.  Basically she had activated the hidden Library folder so she could open the path that Lightroom was trying to follow to create that "Develop Presets" folder.  For some reason, the inability to create that folder in the launch process was preventing launch from being completed.  The Apple tech said she didn't actually have to do that and activated the Library folder by use of the Go selection on the menu bar.  Anyway, once that complete path was replicated and opened, the next step was to go to the Lightroom Permissions field and add my user name to the user categories already there and enable "read and write" permissions to my user name.  Once done, I shut down my laptop, and then rebooted.  I launched Lightroom and then boom, voila, heavens to betsy, etc. it launched and suddenly a dismal weekend turned into a great one.
I am not a geek, so I hope this makes some sense.  I also hope Lightroom launches again tomorrow and beyond!

  • An internal error has occurred x 2

Have a copy of Fireworks CS4 and the An internal error has occurred now appears twice when I try to run - I guess something has become corrupted. I have updated Fireworks to include the latest fixes and have read this post http://www.nakis-s.info/fireworks-error.html about deleteing
    Fireworks CS4 Panel Prefs.xml
    Fireworks CS4 Preferences.txt
I deleted both files which stops the error occuring but when I now open Fireworks and select a blank page I get Fireworks Not responding and I have to close through Task manager
    Any help much appreciated

Have you recently updated your operating system? If yes, it might be worth uninstalling FW and reinstalling it.

  • "An internal error has occurred" message when scanning from MX922 to desktop using Windows 7

I am no longer able to scan using my MX922 connected to my desktop running Windows 7 without getting a message on my desktop saying "An internal error has occurred".  I have turned the MX922 on and off, I have disconnected both the power cord and USB cable from the MX922 and from my desktop, I have reconnected the USB cable to a different port on my desktop, I have uninstalled all Canon programs from my desktop and reloaded all Canon programs with the MX922 CD, and I have restarted the desktop multiple times.  I scan documents several times a week for my business. It has worked fine until today. What do I need to do to correct this problem and get back to scanning?

    Hi boisseaujm,
If you temporarily disable any antivirus or firewall software that is on your computer, then attempt to scan again, are you able to scan successfully?

  • "an internal error has occurred" in trying to open newly installed Adobe Reader 10.

unable to open Adobe Reader 10.1 ; says "an internal error has occurred", I'm using windows Vista 32 bit. Any know fix, or must I go back to using an older, more stable version like 8.1.2.  What's with Adobe if they can't create a better, more stable program? I've seen other have had the same problem and they and I both have trouble trying to find a FREE fix, and nothing found on Adobe site as a clear answer either.

I was frustrated by this problem as well. I even uninstalled and then resinstalled a fresh download: SAME Problem.
Now the problem seems to have been RESOLVED on my Windows Vista Laptop.
Instead of trying to open by double-clicking on file icons, I opened the Adobe Reader from the Windows Explorer. On the first screen appeared the usual Adobe Licence & Terms that I had to ACCEPT. This screen NEVER showed up before after either upgrading to the Adobe Reader X or after reinstalling. After accepting the License and TERMS. this problem does NO longer reproduce.
I have successfully opened fewer than 10 PDF files without the annoying error so far. I hope others will reproduce this "FIX" before claiming this was the root cause of the problem.
Hopefully Adobe will display a more meaningfull error message for such a problem.

  • When I try to import, I receive the following message: "An internal error has occurred: not enough memory".  I always download my photos onto an external hard drive.

Yesterday,I downloaded an update for Lightroom 5.  Now when I try to import, I receive the following message: "An internal error has occurred: not enough memory".  The message comes up right after I click import, before I choose a file to upload. Here is the information I can think of that might be needed to answer this question:
    - I always download my photos onto an external hard drive. It is about 10 % full.
    - It says I have Lightroom 5.6  64 bit
    - I am working from a newer laptop (Windows).  The internal drive on the laptop has 289 gb and I am using 61 gb total memory.
    - I have edited 2794 photos in Lightroom and it is all in one catalog.
    - I did not have this problem until I made the update.  I did have my first "bug" earlier this week when one of my photos had a line show up through the middle of it when I exported it. I was able to export it a second time without the line.
If there is more info. needed, let me know.  I do photography as a hobby and know enough about Lightroom to edit out blemishes and adjust color balance, but not too much more, so forgive my ignorance if this is an obvious fix.
    Sincerely,
    Adrianne

Not Enough Memory typically refers to RAM.  How much RAM do you have on your 64-bit OS computer?  Do you have other programs running that may be using most of the memory?

  • Prime Infrastructure 2.1 - User add failed : Some unexpected internal error has occurred.

Setting up Prime Infrastructure to manage 2504 WLC, trying to add Lobby Ambassador and I get this error message:
User add failed : Some unexpected internal error has occurred. If the problem persists please report to the Tech Support.
Technically, this is my second attempt at setting up PI.  I set it up initially with the wrong version of PI and created a lobby ambassador.  I followed the instructions from the forum with a similar problem that said to remove the trap receiver on the WLC from my first attempt at installing PI.
    https://supportforums.cisco.com/discussion/11110686/failed-add-device-wcs-reason-common-1-some-unexpected-internal-error-has-occured
I'm now able to add a Lobby Ambassador as long as its not the same username that I created on the previous PI setup.  So I suspect this Lobby Ambassador username is somewhere on the 2504 WLC, but I can't find it anywhere to remove it.

I have just been struggling with a similar issue on a fresh install of Prime 2.1  Upgraded to 2.1.1.
If I try to create the user with lobby ambassador role it just fails with "unexpected internal error".
I eventually found that by creating the user as a normal admin user first - the user is added.  You can then go in a remove the admin role and change the role to lobby ambassador.  This works with no internal error and the lobby admin user is working fine.
I would say it is just a bug.

  • An internal error has occurred when adding parmeter.

When I try to enter a new parameter to an existing workbook, I am getting the following error:
"An internal error has occurred. If this persists, please contact you Discoverer manager".
    What causes this?

Do you see a number associated with the error?
What does it say is syncing in the little window at the top of iTunes?
Make sure you have the latest version of iTunes and then try syncing less content to identify what is causing the problem.

  • An internal error has occurred! + Runtime error! Program C-

I have Vista 64 SP2 all patches and Acrobat CS4 installed.Reader 9.4 was running without more then the normal troble with Adobe software. After installing Adobe Reade X it won't even start.
The only  thing Reader X is doing is showing: An internal error has occurred!
And: Runtime error! Program C… The program has requested the Runtime  to terminate in an unusual way. Please contact the application’s support  team for more information.
I have enough of Adobes Beta Software released to me as a customer.  Never seen anything worse then your products. Flash as THE security hole  closely followed by Adobe reader. Okay that hole is closed now an  forever as I never will install anything from Adobe on my PC again. The  **** with downloading by Adobe DLM in firefox and such crap not to  mention.
    Welcome Foxit Reader!

    Hi,
this Error can occur if you make use of JUNCTION in your filesystem. Sometimes those JUNCTIONS are made by your Operating System (e.g. windows anytime-upgrade and than changeing system language). But perhaps you manually changed program and data storage locations by using JUNCTION ( e.g. mklink or any other tool ).
ONE SOLUTION which works for me was to install Adobe Reader manually by downloading the appropriate version at ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/win . The startup with the desktop shortcut will not work.
    1. You should create a new Folder (e.g. TEST ) in the HOMEDRIVE ( normally C: ) root location which is not a JUNCTION .
    2. Open a command line ( press WinodwsKey+R than type "%COMSPEC%" without quotes and press OK Button)
    3. Use now the set command to change environment varibles temporarily Change APPDATA and USERPROFILE by typing
         SET APPDATA=C:\TEST
         SET USERPROFILE=C:\TEST
    4. Now start Adobe Reader from this command line by typing
         "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Reader 10.0\Reader\AcroRd32.exe"
    Adobe Reader will open.
    5. You should go straight to Menu: Edit->Preferences->General
Disable or deselect the "Enable Protected Mode at startup" at the bottom. Click OK. and exit Adobe Reader.
    6. Adobe settings are now written to C:\TEST
copy all from C:\TEST to your original USERPROFILE dir
Now you can use the desktop shortcut of Adobe Reader and it will also open pdf directly in your browser.

  • An internal error has occurred:  ?:0: attempt to index a nil value after installing LR5.5 update and trying to play or preview slideshow

An internal error has occurred:  ?:0: attempt to index a nil value after installing LR5.5 update and trying to play or preview slideshow. Never had this problem before. I went to forums and see that this is a problem with previous versions and this only occurred after installing lastest update.

    Jeannine,
If you follow the advice of the previous poster Julie Kmoch and then gradualy add presets back in one at a time you might be able to find the one that is causing the issue. I may be guessing, but I believe the issue has something to do with either an incompatible Preset setting (eg a older preset in newer version of LR) or a corrupt Preset.
Say you bought LR2 and imported a bunch of Presets from the internet, cuz 'Hey these effects are cool and I don't have to recreate the wheel', and then you upgraded to LR3 (not a clean install) and now one of the Presets that calls a certain slider setting or value that is different in LR3 doesn't work anymore. This might be why it throws the error, but again I am just speculating.
Location of LR Preset folder in Windows Vista/ Windows 7
    C:/Users/<YourUserName>/AppData/Roaming/Adobe/Lightroom/Develop Presets
If you do not see the folder AppData, you may need to change the settings in Windows Explorer to 'Show Hidden Files and Folders'. To do that in Windows Vista/ Windows 7, open a Windows Explorer window, Click on Organize, then Foler and Search Options. Then click on the View tab and select the option button next to Show hidden files, folders and drives.
    Hope this helps a bit,

  • Adobe reader x internal error has occurred

Hi all, I'm Nicola from Italy and work as IT technician in a company.
Today we found that Reader X (10.1.0) cannot view correctly some (but not all) last year PDFs, but 8 and 9 can!
When we open file, Reader X says a generic "Si è verificato un errore interno" ("Internal error has occured"), and we cannot see text in file, but only a part of the header logo. If we go to Edit > Select all we can see text in PDF, but still have problem in scrolling (missing text again) and printing (nothing to print).
Is there an option to check? Or an enchantment to do? Can we make 10 works like 9?
    Thank you all
    Nicola

    Hello Nicola,
The link you gave above (http://www.aermec.com/files/crivellaro/C01_30.013.565.PDF) seems to be dead, could you please repost another valid link or send the file to: [email protected]

  • FW  "An Internal Error Has Occured"

Talk about frustrating!!!  Adobe Support? What is that?
I am a newbie, that doesn't mean bend me over?  I have been working on not only learning the Adobe Web Premium software "which is a totally different conversation" but WTF. Back in October I started this new website I am rather passionate about, down loaded Trail Versions from the web. Yea, I know I have alot of programs out there I could have chosen but I wanted the BEST, well that was my thought anyhow. After starting completely backwards I finally got on track to start using the software as it was designed. No thanks to Adobe I found my way through many different articles and blogs and videos. You would think that if they are willing to sell you something for $2,000 they would at least give you direction on how to use this software. Yes I was amazed there was nothing too. Never the less I muddled through it and got beyond the BS. Got through AI with little to no problems then came Fireworks.
Since, November I have watched all the lessons on how to use it and not once did the the issues that came up ever, and I mean was never  discussed. I got up to maybe 20 pages. I counldn't tell you the exact number because the file won't open. Of course restarted the web design a few times when I found tips on how to make things better. Never the less I WAS IN LOVE, I told everyone I knew that this was the sweetest idea to come along. Develop Complex Graphics in AI and Photoshop and Design Pages with a Master copy in Fireworks all before exporting the whole enchilada to Dreamweaver or Flex Builder. Then it happened.
About 2 weeks ago a friend of mine call me up and ask me to make a quick Sqeeze Page for him, it took me about 6 hours from start to finish and I was done. Then that same evening I went back to my Original Project. Tried to load it up. HMMMM not enough memory??? Whats that? I have been working on this file and never had problems before. So stupid me thought Hey I know I will just get in contact with the ADOBE SUPPORT TEAM.  Hello, thats where I purchased this program RIGHT? Chirp Chirp Chirp.
Gave them a complete description of what I just explained here and I got a response back.  It took them 2 days to respond and the response was " CAN YOU SEND ME A SCREEN SHOT OF THE ERROR" your kidding right. OK, I sent them a screen shot "Not enough memory to open file". Again 2 days later I got another response " Have you checked the Forums for your answers yet?" What is That? Are you kidding me. Has ADOBE gotten so big that they are unwilling to help their customers who spend a boat load of money on their software.
So Here I am. The proud father of a six month endever to sit around and wait.... After reading some forumns and learnig about all the things ADOBE didn't want to know. After searching and deleting fonts I know get FW "An Internal Error has Occurred" while trying to open the file. I know this happened to me awhile ago when I was still using the Trail Version and I just opened a smaller file first and then opened the file without any problems. So I tried that and the earlier version of my file opened just fine. But when I tried it this time, opening the Latest Version the Final Draft of all my revisions countless hours of modifications I simply get " An Internal Error Has Occurred" Simple yet effective, no other information or debugging information just an "Error"
This is what I have done so far:
I have moved/delete and modified the following:
    1. FW Preference file
    2. Restarted my stupid machine to clear memory.
    3. Moved or deleted the Adobe Fonts that where installed.
    4. Even Ran My Vista with 3gigs of memory in a lower performance setting to hopefully resolve this problem.
What am I missing besides buying a really great software from a Company that doesn't have time for its customers that keep them in BUSINESS.
Seriously, I have NEVER purchased a program that I was ot able to fix nor was not able to get the Vendor to fix. New experience for me.

P.S.S. I would like to send this file on an open forum like this one. However, I don't think it a wise idea to openly share any web concept openly (bad business). Any other ideas?
Put your .png on a Web site or document file share (I like drop.io, myself) and then send a link to the file in a PM to Linda, Michel, or me. I'm still using CS3, so I could have a go at separating your pages. (That would be new for me, though, as I don't use the pages feature.)
Linda is an Adobe Community Professional and Michel and I try to help out when we can. You can look back in the forums for posts by all of us.
I've been designing sites for...well...years. I have my own styles and ways of working. I might admire your work, but I won't steal your art. When I want to browse other designers' ideas, there are many great (and guilt-free ) places to go, starting with Smashing Magazine and Design Meltdown:
