CS4, Half Missing Target button in Properties Panel

Hi,
I was wondering if anybody has ever since this: my target button in the Properties Panel is only half visible (and not the good half). I have tried to change the view, even rest it, close and re open the Properties Panle, but nothing works. Anybody has any idea ? Thanks !

Hi there
When you look at the Properties panel, you see ALL available images for the buttons. (Assuming that you are referring to to the stock images supplied by Captivate)
Is this the list you are trying to clear?
If so, it's the same list you see with any project Captivate creates.

CS4 Crash, Properties panel unresponsive

Recently I had issue with Flash CS4 crashing repeatedly. Also
the application would have trouble using the text tool to create
TextFields it would not update the properties panel (Ctrl+F3) when
switching between field types (dynamic, static and input). Also the
properties panel would not update when selecting other items in the
FLA file and just remain as the TextField details.
A co-worker found that the issue was with the fonts on our
systems. It appears some where corrupt and this was wreaking havoc
with Flash CS4. We tried turning off the preview but that did not
work. What did work was removing the corrupt fonts on our systems.
First we had to find out which fonts were corrupt which can
be done with FontAgentPro from Insider Software
(www.insidersoftware.com). (Compatible with Mac OSX, XP and Vista)
We installed the trial and tried to run an import which told
us which fonts were corrupt. Once we knew which fonts were corrupt
we just deleted/removed them from our Font folder. Note
FontAgentPro crashed when we deleted/removed the fonts with it
open; so we had to make a list of the fonts and close FontAgentPro.
Once the bad fonts were gone we were able to open and run
Flash CS4 without it crashing or the properties panel from hanging
or becoming unresponsive.
We hope this helps other who are experiencing similar issues.
Note:
On fresh Vista install Calibri, Cambria and Constantia fonts
were all seen as corrupt. Not sure if this happened due to font
installs we made, vista install bad (which runs very stable) or if
Vista fonts are a different creature than previous window OT and
TTF fonts.

Unfortunately Adobe is notorious for not following Windows
standard APIs. It
is unlikely they will fix the issue anytime soon.

Properties panel missing things in css mode (CS4)

Hi - I'm doing a tutorial in css with a Dreamweaver CS4 pre-designed layout. I want to make a nav bar by using an unordered list and hyperlinking the words in the list.
My properties panel (bottom of the window) in css mode does not show a box for links or a gizmo for making lists, indents, etc.Shouldn't those be available?
Do I have to use the menus at the top? Do I switch to <>HTML to get the features that are missing in css mode?
Insights would be appreciated.

Missing Dynamic Lighting Bolt on properties panel

Hi all,
CS6 on windows XP. PHP/MySQL local site setup and working fine. Only problem, I cannot bind a recordset to a select list because the lighing bolt / dynamic icon is missing from the properties panel.
At the moment I am opeing an old CS4 version to get around this problem.
All other dynamic behavoiurs etc are working fine in CS6. Updates are done. My version of dreamweaver was purchased a few months ago via cloud membership.
Any help greatly appeciated.

Dreamweaver's server behaviors use deprecated code, which PHP and MySQL recommend should not be used for new projects. The other main problem is that they don't validate the user input. Also, they frequently query the database when it's not necessary. But perhaps the worst aspect is that they give a false sense of security. That's not to say they've got security loopholes, but many people use them without understanding any of the code that's generated.
Adobe's recommendation is to hand-code the PHP or to use a third-party framework. The one I used in my Dreamweaver CS5 book is Zend Framework. A new version of the Framework has just been released, so I'll probably have to update that book, although it's still valid for Zend Framework I.

Dw cs4 properties panel

just rece'd the dw cs4, in the properties panel with the css
button clicked isn't there suppose to be 4 alignment buttons just
to the right of the B & I buttons. I don't have and not sure if
I need to set up some where, looked in prefeneces but didn't find,

What do you have selected when you do this? The contents of
the Property
inspector are context sensitive.

I can't edit a Line with the Properties panel - Flash CS4

I have created a line on the stage with the Line tool, and then want to edit the Stroke and Style in the Properties panel. However, after creating the line these options are greyed out and not available to me. Even if I then select the Line with the Selection tool, I cannot edit the Stroke or the Style. It seems to me I should be able to do this, what am I missing?

Normally after drawing the line you only need to click once on it to select it, and with it selected you should be able to access its settings in the properties panel.

Button display properties cs4

what are the display:blending properties of buttons, shown in properties panel.
my problem is the button expands its size in most of these modes, except in darken and others, which change the color.
i need my button to not change shade and to stay the size of the area i converted to a button.

As far as size of button,
i made a 10x10 sqare grid area using thick lines snapped to grid.
I was selecting the inner squares to fill, between lines. selection was going up to the middle of lines. the thickness/stroke covered up part of selection (made into button). when brought on top of lines the btn looked bigger to me. i turned off grid functionality and i still cant select only visible fill area between visible lines. my work around may be to set the lines' index above fill areas so my movie has the grid outline.

CS4 properties panel not completely visible

The dreamweaver CS4 properties panel is not completely
visible, some parts of it don't show up completely. In vista I have
my fonts set at 110%, 106 dpi. When I change them back to 100%
96dpi, it becomes visible.
I'm just curious why doesn't dreamweaver CS4 scale to larger
fonts, just like other applications? Is there some way to fix this?
I'd prefer to use larger system fonts, since their easier on the
eyes.

Properties panel crashes flash cs4 - OSX 10.5.5

I just upgraded to cs4 and all other apps seem to work fine
but flash cs4 10.0.1.
heres how I can make it crash every time:
1) launch flash cs4
2) create a new action script 3 document
3) click the color pallet to change the back ground color in
the properties panel
4) crash
clicking the color pallet also crashes the app as well.
one clue: saving your project will allow you to change the
background color in the properties panel but attempting to save or
save as will also cause the app to crash.
I have tried everything. Reinstalling, updating and still
crash.
Can anyone help?

It seems that Adobe has lost it's reputation because of PSE. My version crashes loads and it's starting to effect the what I do.
A company can lose it's reputation very quickly. Overall I think they will make a loss with this product due to the damage it's done.
I believe that people should start suing software companies if the product is not "fit for purpose". This rule goes for non-software products so why not software. People just seem to assume that software and technology can bomb out and that it's ok. Well the tide of acceptance should change... it is clearly UNACCEPTABLE when paying for a product that it fails quite a bit!
I'm f£$%ing furious after all these years of putting up with terrible software. First it was Microsoft (although admittedly they improved from about 2000/XP onwards). However Adobe have gone backwards! What is going on!?
I want either a refund or a free working upgrade. Also possibly compensation! Why the hell not!?

Properties Panel is missing pieces!

Until recently, when I was building CF forms in Dreamweaver I
could click on a cfinput field in Design View and set validation
rules, etc., directly in the Properties panel. However... now, all
I see when I click on a cfinput field is a little CF icon, the word
cfinput, a button "Attributes," and a dropdown menu to change the
class of the object. Is there a way to re-expand this? The
Attributes button isn't really even very helpful! Has anyone else
had this problem? Thanks.

Is the Advanced Answer Option missing in CP7? (I'm looking in Properties panel.)

Hello there,
I'm new to CP7 but I've seen some online tutorials and they clearly show an Advanced Answer Option for multiple choice question (so I can provide feedback to wrong answer).
Unfortunately I don't see it anywhere in the Properties Panel as I'm supposed to. I just see Character, Format, Shadow & Reflection, Transform.
Thanks to anyone who can point me in the right direction. (BTW, I have multiple attempts selected in Quiz Properties).

I assume I'm on a normal slide (I am VERY new to CP but I have checked this 2 ways. First, the timeline is not on the Master tab. Second, I have gone to menu at the top for Insert > Question Slide and while there, I noted that Insert > Quiz Master Slide was greyed out and not an option).
I'm afraid I didn't find the 'utils' folder. I looked in all six locations where Captivate has folders (mostly put there automatically) but I may have missed it. I will list those locations below FYI.
However, there has been a solution of sorts. I went into the second folder on the list below and cleared the cache as you suggested. I then ran CP7 as Administrator (advice I'd seen for a different problem on another thread). I created a new blank slide and inserted MPQ. The Advanced Answer Option was there. I then went back the original slide that was giving me problems (still running program as Admin) but once again, no Advanced Answer Option. Strange, no? Luckily, I'm still just at the playing-around stage so it's no problem to kill that first slide and start afresh.
If there's anything else you think I need to know or if you want me to try something else to satisfy curiousity, let me know. Otherwise, I appreciate your advice till here.

Cp5 - Button properties panel

Hi all
This is frustrating me so I'm hoping someone has some tips. When I copy a button from one project to another, I often want to change the button image. In the button properties, there is a little folder icon that lets me open my button gallery folder on the C: but it is only just accessible, and sometime, not visible at all (see image). To the right of the 'image button' combo box, I should see a folder, so I can quickly find the button image I need, but in this case it is not visible and there are no horizontal scroll bars at the bottom of the properties panel.
Has anyone had this issue and found a resolution or work around? Any help would be appreciated.

OK. Well in that case your best recourse might be to copy the files for your buttons in the Gallery and rename them to have much shorter names. I don't think moving the buttons around is going to fix the issue. And (from memory) renaming the existing buttons doesn't do the trick either. Captivate sets the width of this area by the name of the longest button in the Gallery. But for some reason, even if you remove or rename those buttons so that they are all short-named again, Captivate seems to think they are still there. It retains settings somewhere about this. You may even need to delete your Preferences file to reset everything.

CS4- properties panel not displayed correctly

I just installed Dreamweaver v10. The properties panel information is being clipped. Does anyone else have this problem?

make sure your dpi is set to default 96 dpi, I had this problem because working with a small screen and old eyes, I adjusted my font size, had to set back to default 96dpi, hope this helps
