CS4- How do I anchor my image from floating when performing a crop?

I just upgraded to CS4 from CS3. (I've had the disc for a year but delayed due to workshops I was giving)
When I open an image (after ACR) and try a crop by clicking and dragging from top left to bottom right, then let go the image starts floating upward! I then have to select the Hand tool and pull the image back down. This is most agravating!
It never did this in CS3, as the image stayed anchored and centered in the screen. I've gone through all the preferences and presets and find nothing about crop tool options or image handling for a crop.
How do I anchor my image, so it doesn't move?
On a related problem, when I open an image from ACR, by default, it goes into a reduced window, which I have to make full screen by pressing the F key. In full screen mode, the image then goes in behind my tool windows.
In CS3, the image rested nicely within the working space between the tool window on the right and the screen on the left.
How do I get the images that I open in CS4 to replicate what I had in CS3?
Any assistance or ideas someone can render would be most appreciated.

Frequently I will quickly click and drag from top left to bottom right. The crop line then sits around the perimeter of the image. Then I will move the curser to the sides-top-bottom of the image and adjust it up or down for the desired crop, such as if I make a pano. In CS 3 this worked like a charm.
In CS 4, when I do the quick click and drag diagonally across, the window floats up as I continue the drag to the bottom of the page.
CS 3 didn't care if I worked this way, the image didn't move. Pour CS 4 is touchy and doesn't like it! It wants to be treated with RESPECT! Hah! So I've had to change my ways and just slowly stop in the bottom right corner if I don't want the freakin image to drift up. Wish I had a vid camera to show you what I mean.
Talked to my webmaster 'bout this problem. He could not reporduce this either. Mind you he says he opens his windows in TABS, which I don't do. I'm going to change my preferences and see what happens.

I'm looking at buying a 2nd cheapo 23inch screen to have all the windows and action panels on, so I leave my Cinema screen open for just the image.
Maybe this way it will reduce the aggravation level. Grrrrrrrrrrr!

Can anyone tell me if there is a solution to keeping multiple images from moving as the size of the browser is made larger or smaller. I am in the jewelry business and when I have multiple images, and a customer makes the browser window larger or smaller, it of course moves the images out of position and mixes everything up on different lines. As opposed to a site like Bluenile.com which images stay stationary as the browser window moves. I did try to make all my images on "one image" in Photoshop and that does seem to do what I want as far as the images go, but then I cant add links to individual pictures within that page. You're using a liquid layout based on percentages that resizes with browser viewport. As Ned said, a fixed width Table would be one approach. Another would be to use a Fixed Width CSS grid like this one (view page source to see the code)

How do I prevent the image from shearing when I have an alpha channel?

I'm using After Effects to prepare some videos for the web. They are running at 320x240. The settings are Flv/F4v, Millions of colors, 15 FPS, RGB and Alpha, 44K/16bit Mpeg III audio, CBR 1 pass with a bit rate of 872, On2VP6 encoding.
I create the alpha channel from a greenscreen behind the actor using standard keylight and garbage mattes.
When I do not encode an alpha channel, the image is fine. My problem is that when I try to encode the alpha channel, the image shears to the left from bottom to top, and the whole image is transposed about 40% to the left. But we need the alpha channel.
This is what the shearing looks like. Any ideas on what is happening and how to prevent it? Thank you.

To check the clip, I made a small swf file the same dimensions and frame rate, 320x240 @15fps. It's a single frame, single layer with no skin. It just plays the flv file when you open up the swf. The flv file is external, so to test the results, I just keep rendering in AE to the same flv file name.
The first two seconds play okay. The shearing doesn't begin till after that. So I'm suspecting there is something strange with the keyframes. I even tried messing with the keyframe distance settings at 30 and 15, without effect.
The original video is an 854x480 mov file playing at 14.99 fps, millions of colors, Sorenson 3 coding. When I bring it into the comp, which is set at 320x240 @15 fps, I scale the movie to 50% in size. At your suggestion, I just tried making sure that all the frame rates are 14.99 instead of 15. Sadly, without any benefit. I'm still baffled.

If you do Cmd+Shift+3 you'll get a full screen image saved to your desktop as a jpg file.
Also, you can use Cmd+Shift+4 and you'll get a cursor which you click+drag to draw a box. When you release the drag the boxed in area will be saved to the Desktop as a jpg file.

Please check the list yourself and co,mare the necessary CR version with the one your version of Photoshop utilizes.

There are many, many ways to access your files in iPhoto: You can use any Open / Attach / Browse dialogue. On the left there's a Media heading, your pics can be accessed there. Command-Click for selecting multiple pics.
(Note the above illustration is not a Finder Window. It's the dialogue you get when you go File -> Open)
You can access the Library from the New Message Window in Mail:
There's a similar option in Outlook and many, many other apps. If you use Apple's Mail, Entourage, AOL or Eudora you can email from within iPhoto.
If you use a Cocoa-based Browser such as Safari, you can drag the pics from the iPhoto Window to the Attach window in the browser.
If you want to access the files with iPhoto not running:
For users of 10.6 and later: You can download a free Services component from MacOSXAutomation which will give you access to the iPhoto Library from your Services Menu.
Using the Services Preference Pane you can even create a keyboard shortcut for it.

Are you using a Windows system, and do you have File Explore set to show extensions? I am wondering if the file name might look like:
'Starbirds Picture.jpg.tiff' ?
The fact that you say the image looks different after reducing its bit depth makes me think you are right about it being 32 bit, but as Chris said, it can't be a JPG.
Your computer monitor is not capable of displaying the full tonal range of a 32bit image produced by an HDR program like Photomatix or Photoshop, so it has to make compromises. You have to chose what process to use to reduce its bit depth to give it the look you are after. I prefer Photomatix for HDR. If you install a trial version and open your 32 bit image in it, you can then chose one of the options to convert it to 16 or 8 bit. These might be Tone Mapping, Exposure Fusion, or Tone Compression. Tone Mapping is the option that produces the typical HDR look.
But you are using Photoshop. I haven't noticed what version you are using, but Google Photoshop (your version) HDR processing, and you'll see how to control the end look of the image.

I follwed this note only (Deploying Sun JRE (Native Plug-in) for Windows Clients in Oracle E-Business Suite 11i [ID 290807.1]) to upgrade my Jre -1.6.0_23 version .Use the same steps to downgrade to 1.6.0_20 (i.e. download the correct plug-in, issue "txkSetPlugin.sh jversion" with the desired version, ..etc).
I given it to application team for testing they come back with some issues telling that some application and users unable to access so requesting to downgrade the JRE to 1.6.0_20 version.What issues? Have you considered upgrading to 1.6.0_24?

Hide the layers as deepakgahlot has suggested by selecting the eye icon on the layers pallet and then when you have the layer you want save for web (Shift+Ctrl+Alt+S) or File>Save for Web.. and then you can select either a .jpg or .png

The RX100M3 is supported only by version 8.5. It sounds like you need a newer version.

Don't under any circumstances.
All images is not a file. It's not a place. It's a list. Specifically, it's the result of an instruction: List all the images on my machine.
When you delete something from All Images, then you have no idea what you're removing from where - files that are part of word processing docs, interface elements, corrupting your iPhoto Library. There are many perfectly legitimate reasons why you might have what appears to be duplicates but are not.
Rule number One: Never delete anything on your machine whose job you don't understand.

How do I view multiple images from different projects at the same time?

I've been trying to find the answer in the user manual, but no luck so far.
I did find how to open 2 projects at once, but I can only see one image at a time in the viewer and I have to keep going back and forth between projects to compare images. (These are scans of old photos and I want to eliminate the ones that are poorer quality, so need to compare numerous images from 2 sets of scans)
How can I view an image from one project at the same time as an image from another? I know that it can be done in the same project by apple-clicking the second, third etc image, but this doesn't work if the images are from different projects.

I've now created an album, independent of the projects, and dragged test images into it and it does just the job I needed. Now i just need to keep my brain sorted with which ones are which while i'm working
